Geodesic Glycerin my...trumpet...broke... I opened the case, and a tube was off. It's a lower end trumpet, and the person my BD took it to for fixing says she doesn't think the matal is strong enough to handle being welded. I just- I'm so....I can't stop crying. oh. thats so sad! sad if that happened to my silver trumpet i would cry! crying i already almost lost it once >.< i wasn't happy with out it. (wow i am such a band geek xp) i feel sorry for you. (nice name for it though:]) ((by the way i have two trumpets. one for practice at school and performences[the silver one] and onther for practice at home.))

Zyria Kaoru However, we successfully added the D above the staff to our range this year [on standard 3C or 5C mouthpiece... no cheaters!] . using good equipment isn't cheating. standard mouth pieces aren't made out of very good material and don't help you with tone or improve your over all playing. once you get to a point in playing you should have good equipment i use a good mouth piece and I've been able to play high D since 8th grade on a 7-c and (which is standard) I am only a sophmore and I can play a double high A (the space above four lines above the staff) because I am not going to call something cheating just because I can't do it. I'm not trying to brag I just want to say the truth

the real kira4 I own only 1, but it is a pocket trumpet. it plays the same but its more compact and smaler. about a half note higher in capabilities. a pocket trumpet is smaller because it's wrapped back and forth repeatedly, it has the same amount of tubing as a normal trumpet in the same key so it doesn't have a half note higher capabilities.

Hello all! I am a new member to the guild, and I have been playing Trumpet since I was seven year old (that makes this the 11th year). I have only one Trumpet (my first and only). It is just a standard Bach Trumpet (it looks old now, but when I fist got it, it was so shiny and brand new). biggrin

H-Meow Trumpets are THE best interments in band!!! I totally agree! Trumpets are the pizzaz of the band and Trumpets give the band the pop and jazz that it needs.

So today in band we were playing some new stuff, and it wasn't labelled by instruments but by keys, so we got given Bb 1, and ere expected to play top D and super E!!! And even higher later on in the piece!!! It was well stupid so we swapped it with the Clarinet's Bb 2, which was pretty much the same but we only went up to a top C#. Most of it was above the stave like on Bs and A#s!! Well painful! OMG!! We actually played the top C#s well!!! I can usually only get up to top C on a good day, but I swear I hit Super F!!!!! I deserve a high 5 for merely playing C#s properly and clearly!!!

I'm looking for not-too-difficult college audition piece for trumpet, I've only been playing for 2 years but am trying to march next year. My main instrument is flute/piccolo. (<3) Any suggestions?

heh, idk if you band's as perverted as mine, but we have a lil joke within my trupmet section. If you add an "s" to the word "trumpet" you get "strumpet" and that mean whore basically. Well my name starts with "S" and so we have a joke that I'm the band strumpet xd

Marine_Biology H-Meow Trumpets are THE best interments in band!!! I totally agree! Trumpets are the pizzaz of the band and Trumpets give the band the pop and jazz that it needs. That's very true (espicially in Jazz) But in every band I've been in, my conductor always picks on us the most gonk is it that way with you guys too? or does my section just flat out suck?

I think this is right- if the note's a half step up the only thing I can think of it even remotely being would be a piccolo trumpet. But those are definitely more than half a step higher in pitch. *confuzzled*
