This is a general thread for discussion of all things trumpet-y.
And we'll start things off with a poll.

I'm a loser and only have one trumpet as of now. I used to have two but yeah . . . and I WAS going to get a new one but since I plan to go a private art school for college which are very expensive- i doubt I'll be getting a new trumpet any time soon.
Oh yeah Oggy if you haven't noticed I've given you Crew Status so you're now crew. xp Hope you didn't mind whee

Do I mind? eek Of course I don't mind. I was hoping I'd get Crew status... thankies!
And back on-topic: I have two trumpets. One is a student-model Bach, "gold", that I use for marching. The other is a shiny, newful silver Yamaha that doesn't leave its case unless I'm in the band room or on the stage for a concert. I got it a year ago, and it still looks brand-new.
*considers taking pictures of his trumpets and posting them*
Ooh! Maybe we should have a BNG picture gallery?

I'm surprised at the flood of requests I'm getting. I don't know if any of them are from new members. sweatdrop

I'm not sure. Perhaps you should put something on the home page that says "In your join request, please specify whether you were a member in the old BNG" or something like that.

Dude! Hey, Oggy, what if we come up with nick names for the trumpets? xp (god so much repression, here) ...just an example, but at my HS, they were all known as cheezedoggs, w/ one 'cheezehead' *angelic chorus*. of course, they all had diff. numbers loosely based on 69, save a couple... sweatdrop *shrugs* just a thought.
Oh! And I only have one trumpet. My dad bought one thru the school. The usual school issue, brass bach *shrugs* I should prolly go oil it.

Hmm... perhaps. I mean, if any truly spectacular naming possibilities come up, go ahead. Like this week in band camp, when a new freshie decided he was going to sniff some pepper. He was immediately branded Snort, and so shall he be for the rest of the year.

The senior drum major had the nickname cheetoe . . . because once he mooned the flutes who out in the bandhall hallway and there was a cheetoe stuck between . . . yeah . . . and then that same year there was a freshman baritone player (who's now a senior and section leader) and it was really rainy so he decided to change his clothes . . . outside and had two other guys hold up a towel to change behind . . . let's say someone pulled down the towel and thus the name sunshine has staid with him till this day.

Ah, yes. That reminds me. I have three mouthpieces. Two 7Cs that came with each of my trumpets, and a 5C that I bought for Jazz Band.

*nods* I have a 7C and a 5C... I usually use the 5 though... and the 7 has marks where it had to be pried out of my trumpet sweatdrop I used to have an F Horn mouthpiece too, but no clue where that went.
((and sorry masq, I meant to hit 'quote' not 'edit' ...damn links sweatdrop ))

I have 3-7 c's well 2 and one that doesn't stay in so I never use it. One for practice and a shiny one for comps. I have 2 5c's for Jazz and good one and one that is old and has a masive dent on the horn end.
