Eternal Myrrha

Looking around at the vista that she found herself surrounded by Myrrha had to wonder at times how a planet had come to be this verdant. Her own asteroid was nothing like this. When she had gone the first time the place had been full of nothing but death and decay. Admittedly she had not gone back after that first trip. Something about her home world dropping her right near a cliff edge had almost felt like a personal attack.

Maybe she just read too much into it ... but if she could get her asteroid to look like this, with creatures and growing plants, maybe she'd find the appeal in going back and staying longer.

Squire Irkalla

Having pulled out a book from her subspace pocket Irkalla lost herself in the words that she was reading from the page before she simply marked her place in the book before giving a gentle sigh. This animal, too have remained free for so long, must have some sort of magical powers attributed to it. Once more the squire took out her impromptu book mark of a leaf before she dove back into the book. The jackalope would be caught, but only when it wanted to be.

There was nothing against the rules of being able to read in the meantime.

ngome

Ngome was starting to get frustrated.

er eyes scanned the forest floor for any sign of the elusive jackalope with the purple ribbon. The fading light cast long shadows around her, adding to the sense of urgency in her quest.

Illyria

As Beira scooped her up into his arms Illyria tried to make the adjustment to being carried before shifting a little of her weight to be balanced more before she grinned up at the senshi. This idea of partnering up worked well for her. She could, as Beira put it, conserve a little more of her energy and also now she had a better vantage point to peer around at the animals that were moving around. Just none of the ones she could make up had a purple ribbon. That was a little disappointing.

Her attention went back to Beira as he inquired if there was a prize associated with this event, "I think there would have to be something awarded to the person who brought the jackalope back. But it's probably something like a little memento of the occasion. I could be wrong though. Still, I'm glad that I can work with you Beira. Two sets of eyes is definitely better than one in this case ... and I don't think it's against any rules."

Deep Space Selinur

So far all he smelled were the other senshi around, and that's all he heard as well it seemed, but he did for a moment spot another one of those jackalopes. It wasn't the one with the ribbon, though he had wished it so, but once it had run off the blond had moved towards where it had been - and sniffed. Picking up on the smell of the creature he drew back, slowly, and turned to sniff at the air and see if he could pick up on more of them. With the smell in his nose, and knowing what it was now, he at least hoped he stood a better chance with this hunt. Sniffing as he walked, keeping his eyes roaming, he was hoping to catch sight of the creature. Others were walking not too far off - he could hear them.

So many people in these woods would make it near impossible to hear the jackalope, especially when there were others in the woods, but he could relay on his other senses as he hoped to hunt it down. Picking up on a scent he followed after it...only to find nothing. Growling softly the fox like senshi continued on, easing away from the opening at the base of a tree, it looked like a home of some sort in the base of the tree. For what creature he did not know.

"Mmmmm...." Sniffing more he went to follow another scent trail that was similar to the scent he'd gotten from the jackalope he had spotted.

Emain Ablach, Squire of Earth

Despite himself, Emain Ablach was taken aback. Despite all the ways he’d thought this would go, when the time came, he faltered for a second. Imhotep was telling him to either join them or ******** off, and he seemed to be legitimately leaving the choice up to Emain Ablach. He was just… staring at him over his shoulder. Waiting.

Should he leave?

Promethei had waved, so maybe he shouldn’t leave.

There didn’t seem to be a right answer, but Emain Ablach would have to have faith that Tobias’ mantra of ‘give it time’ was right. Maybe it had been enough time. At the very least, Imhotep didn't outright chase him off. He was able to move to stand next to Promethei, careful to keep Imhotep to the other side of him.

"I'll stop skulking." He addressed them with a practiced customer service smile. That was, until he squinted his eyes and realized Imhotep was right about the direction he was facing. Would probably be worse if he withheld anything at this point. "Jackalope's over there, for what it's worth."

Imhotep, Page of Mercury

Imhotep didn’t avert his eyes, even when Emain Ablach averted his. Was that it, then? Was he going to leave?

No, he was coming closer, and something in Imhotep—something he didn’t really want to acknowledge yet—felt lighter for it. He still watched Emain Ablach, of course, eyes following him until he stopped next to Promethei. His eyes narrowed faintly at Emain Ablach’s choice to keep Promethei between them, but he didn’t say anything about it.

It was… a fair choice.

He finally took his eyes off of Emain Ablach to start moving forward again. If he was going to insist on joining them, then he could help them find the damned jackalope. Or maybe he could go get it for them, considering he’d spotted it—

Unless he was just ******** with them, but even Imhotep knew that wasn’t fair of him to assume.

"Where?"

Promethei, Squire of Mercury

Was that it? Was Emain Ablach going to leave when finally confronted with the possibility of being able to interact with his husbands again?

Promethei glanced in Imhotep's direction, watching as his husband refused to break eye contact with at least Emain Ablach's body, and then shifted his gaze to glance at Emain Ablach. Oh... thank ********. He was going to join them. Unfortunately, it left him in the awkward position of being between them as he worried, but then again, perhaps it had been the only reasonable choice.

The last time they had been powered around each other, Imhotep had tried to kill him. Then again, Promethei had tried too.

Of course, they were both there on this same asteroid for that moment Ransomite died and Emain Ablach was born in his place. Complex.

He brought his head out of it, letting the energy filter into his fingers, where they wiggled in the air. There was a brief moment when he thought of grasping their hands. He didn't. When Emain Ablach observed where the jackalope was, he let that energy move searching out where the jackalope was. Nothing. What was he even seeing?

"Yeah, I'm with Imhotep." Nothing. Well, if he saw something they didn't... "Lead the way?"

There was a part of him that bristled when it came to trusting Emain Ablach with that much. But what else could he do?

Super Sailor Ymir

The jackalope took off again before Ymir could make much headway. Though he moved to follow it remained stubbornly out of sight. Ymir sighed and took Surtur’s hand briefly, urging him onward once again.

“I don’t trust these people not to harm it,” he murmured.

He didn’t trust them with anything. Ymir had been shown endless kindness since arriving on Earth, yet he could not quell the impulse to doubt and suspect. These people were strangers to him, even the ones he’d known before stasis. All that was left of those times were ghosts. These people were Earth-born, with Earthling sensibilities and Earthling morality, and Earth was… complicated. In many of the same ways Ymir had been complicated, but Earth had its own issues, too.

Super Sailor Perdita

“I’d like that,” Perdita accepted Belmont’s invitation.

She knew it had probably been extended to her because of Connie, but Perdita appreciated it regardless. Her smile grew a touch wider. Any thoughts she may have had about continuing to search for the jackalope temporarily fled. She hadn’t been all that invested in catching it anyway.

“I know a couple of Jupiter knights through Oberon but I haven’t had the chance to visit Jupiter yet. I heard the weather’s pretty awesome.” There was not a single hint of sarcasm in Perdita’s voice. She’d been warned about the weather there, yes, but she thought the idea of it was fascinating. “I’ve never been to a wonder of Chronos either,” she added with another smile for Connie. “To be honest, I’m not entirely sure who or what Chronos is. I had the Surrounding explained to me, but I hadn’t awakened yet when it was attacked and there don’t seem to be many of you. I actually think you’re the first Chronos knight I’ve ever met.”

Transcended Princess Eternal Sailor Ganymede

Ganymede smiled. Becoming a Senshi was not at all what she would have chosen for her daughter, but those sorts of choices had never been hers to make. The part of her that felt for Eupheme’s starseed, that had memories of another little girl who’d worn those colors, was grateful at least that she knew where Eupheme’s starseed had ended up, that she had the opportunity to protect Eupheme as Liesel would have wanted to in the past.

“Just this once,” Ganymede said.

She opened her arms for Eupheme. That she didn’t want anyone to know of their relationship didn’t preclude them from sharing moments like this. Most of the others were too busy looking for the jackalope to notice, and Ganymede had been seen protecting their more vulnerable allies enough that the sight of her comforting a child probably would rouse suspicions.

Kaifeng, Squire of Saturn

Alas, it seemed the good luck Kaifeng had had in spotting the jackalope was not to last. After he’d let Helene help him up, they’d quickly lost track of the little guy. Kaifeng was giving it his best efforts to stay grounded in the moment and to continue exercising self-restraint, taking in every detail of the woods around them and the nearby sounds……but that moment of spotting the jackalope made this task harder than before. The little guy had been so close.……

Yet, as he and Helene searched, Kaifeng gave it his best efforts to keep his breaths slow, and deep, and even. This was a learning experience. Giving up and unleashing the impulse control issues undermined the very idea of it.

Beira, Super Senshi of Loneliness

Beira was careful with Illyria, and while he might not have been accustomed to carrying cats of any kind, he cradled in her arms like she was some sort of royalty worthy of great reverence. It was practically a crime to offend a Mauvian, Soleiyu had taught him this much. In his own words, but Beira thought he understood the gist of it.

He saw movement–and purple. The jackalope had come within range again.

“Ah, Illyria–I think you’re my good luck charm. Over here,” he said, and rather than waiting for it to move again so she could see it, he carried her in the direction he’d spotted it. He took long steps, hurried but not frantic, with her comfort in mind as much as her desire to win.

He kept his voice down and tried to move in such a way that he wouldn’t spook it, but hunting and stalking really wasn’t his forte.

Illyria

Illyria, being carried, had briefly seen a flash of something but hadn't been able to make out more detail. She would trust Beira's instincts though. Being called a good luck charm had the Mauvian puff out her chest just a little before she gave a soft chuckle at the picture she was presenting. No, it wouldn't do her any good to act like she was the most important thing around...it just wasn't who she was. Instead she neatly perched in Beira's arms before quickly rasping her tongue along her fur where she felt an oddity in the 'space-fur' continuum ... which she also identified as a tangled clump of fur. It was at that precise moment of looking away that Illyria must've missed the jackalope.

"I didn't see it. It must have gone by too quickly for me. Maybe we should follow in the direction it took?"

If Beira could keep sighting the jackalope that would be good. The ultimate goal was probably just to have fun, but the thought of returning triumphant with their prey in tow would be better.
