Corrupt Triplite 5 + 1 = 6 Triplite let out a yell of frustration when she had been dragged towards the elevator and away from the General. She would probably be scolded for it later but seriously? Were they really just going to go away without a fight?! What was the point of coming down here then if they weren't even going to do some fighting! All it had been was puzzles and then running away! It was like nothing had gotten done! She had paced around impatiently as everyone tended to the wounded or got some rest. When they elevator was finally ready to use again she had practically rushed towards it, but was severely disappointed when the General was no longer there. She let out an angry huff but it was all she could do. There would be no fighting for now. Perhaps she could ask someone if they wanted to spar to get this want to fight out of her system. Instead she decided to look around and in the new room. She looked a bit at the dagger, but was more curious about the room itself than a weapon she wouldn't be able to use as a Senshi. Strickenized ha ha! one more, looking around the new room

Lt. Boraxchecking out the crucibleHP: 50/50 (1 + 1 (recon) = 2)As he looked, the very general that had stumbled back toward the lift walked to stand beside him. Of course, he had found the most interesting thing in the room. He glanced down at Faustite and gave him an upward head nod of acknowledgment before turning his attention back to the crucible to see if he could decipher anything of interest. The message Faustite sent caught his interest, and the dagger handed off by Aquamarine caught his interest even more. He used his taller stature to look over Faustite at what he was looking at and compare the symbols on the dagger to the cauldron below. There was a commonality there. And within the cauldron? More daggers, just broken. "The markings on the cauldron and the dagger match. Must be doing something to them, enough to make them try again several times by the look of the bowl." Did it work on everything or just particular items? He wasn't foolish enough to attempt jamming his hand into it, but he did pull his wallet out of his subspace pocket. "I have something small and metallic in here. Can see if it reacts to metals in general without attempting anything large." After finding one of those metallic coin-pressed souvenirs and snorting at it dismissively, he placed the coin over his thumb and flicked it toward the cauldron. strickenizedx talking to faustite testing the cauldron [ 2 ]

b] General FaustiteHP: 85/100 Magic uses: ?/2 (offensive); ?/3 (enhancement) Faustite was foolish enough to put his hand into the crucible. He kept the dagger in his free hand while he rooted around inside for one of the broken daggers. He grasped one once he was shoulder deep in the pot, then pulled it out to examine. His brow furrowed.
"Arm's humming," he explained. Then he dropped the dagger. Bent double, waited.
When he straightened, he shook his head. "Strange. Got dizzy."
When he was certain the rush had passed, Faustite straightened, though the buzzing in his arm never ceased. It spread to the rest of his body, now, though he said nothing of it. He spared a glance back at the others — Benitoite, Aquamarine, Jet and Arsenopyrite to see if they had any other input or speculation about the device.
When Borax spoke up, Faustite shrugged. "Long as all your expensive plastic is out of there, in case it melts into slag." Faustite wouldn't chance touching the wallet if they were going to toss it in and … Wait, he supposed? The energy swimming inside the crucible wasn't visible, but he'd certainly felt it; if that energy could do anything to whatever was placed inside, then perhaps it would alter Borax's wallet.
He wondered, though — what were all the broken weapons for? Was Galvorn trying to melt them down, or were they unsuccessful experiments conducted with the crucible? Was he trying to replicate the dagger, or find some use for it?
Faustite's attention focused on the dagger, which remained in his hand. Borax was correct in that the inscriptions were of similar style and symbol choice. Faustite expected, then, that they were related. Produced at the same time, perhaps, or even two parts of a whole. Even if it made no sense for a dagger and crucible to go together. They'd already been out of their element with the factory, out of their depth for the technology belonging to this place. Maybe with fresh minds, they would be able to solve what stumped the ex-General who claimed this place.
"Aquamarine," Faustite turned and spoke. "Did you feel anything strange when you were holding this?"

General Larimar, Team Mourning Cloak HP: 95/100 Investigating the crucible, 7 Larimar was still in a dogshit mood, and it didn't look like that was going to change any time soon; ze'd kept to zemself nearly the entire time since retreating on the elevator, the only wounded thing zyr pride. (And a small burn on zyr thigh from one of the decoy rings, but that wasn't exactly hospitalizing zem any time soon.) Nobody ze'd been set to command was injured -- traumatized, maybe, but who gave a ******** -- so it was probably a success, on that front.
Still, ze felt pretty unfulfilled, and only part of that was the way Aquamarine had apparently decided being trigger-hungry made zem the ******** devil, with some of those looks he'd send. There was enough of a group centered directly around the crucible, so Larimar was fine hanging back at a distance, seeing if anything made more sense from here. Maybe a bigger picture might become apparent when viewed a few more steps back.--- Captain Kosmochlor, Team Pipevine HP: 75/75 Investigating the remaining research, 4 For a little while, Kosmochlor had spent time tending to the wounded; she knew brief wound care, she knew how to deal with aches, even if where she'd learned half of that was part of that hole in her memory where Sunny Dyer had once been. And it gave her something to do with her hands. Eventually, though, her frustration got so great that she stopped; no, she didn't care they were in pain, could they shut up already?
She knew it was amoral and cruel and selfish, but, like. Whatever? Helping people was only interesting as long as she took no injury of any sort to herself, and when she got irritated, she was liable to make mistakes.
Maybe something remained that might be interesting. It couldn't all be useless weapons and information, could it? Kosmochlor kneeled down, tongue between her teeth, to look through what research remained in the research area.Strickenized ducking in before the deadline. maybe. with two "posts"

Ransomite was tempted to be dismissive of it, but something told him he wasn't quite at the end of the story. It was perhaps the captain looking next to him that reinforced that. Eternal Fulguritetalking to cryoliteHP: 100/100 Action: (n/a) "How did that go for you?" After they had a bit to decompress, Fulgurite leaned against the wall and looked over to Cryolite. Ransomite walked off somewhere else to go do whatever priests did in their downtime. Pray? Probably pray. He did his best not to ask about it considering he seemed as private about it as Fulgurite would prefer to be about everything. And couldn't be. "There were some turrets, but it was mostly just screens we had to figure out how to hack for us. The turrets were easy to deal with once we broke the pipes kinda like the ones above us." Because of course they broke them. Why would they do anything else?

General AquamarineHP: 81/100 Aquamarine paid little to no attention to the others studying the crucible. Benitoite and a Captain (Witherite). Some freakishly large Lieutenant (Borax) — tall like Seraphinite, though maybe just shy of Sera’s utterly ridiculous height. (Regardless, Aquamarine felt short, and feeling short made him angry, like most things did. Looking up was an inconvenience, so Aquamarine didn’t bother.)
He watched Faustite instead, tried not to snap and rage, because Faustite wasn’t at fault. Except that this was Faustite’s mission in the first place. Aquamarine figured asking him to have less of an interest in the s**t that went on in the Rift would be asking for too much.
A shrug answered Faustite. “It’s weird as ********, sure. Felt a little uneasy, maybe, but nothing that’d make me not want to use it. I used it on Galvorn. Seemed to work fine. It’s light, sharp. The blade and markings turned red after Jet tested it out and cut himself with it. Someone messed with the grip, pried it off and couldn’t put it back right, but it’s barely noticeable. Galvorn, probably. There were tools where we found it.”
His narrowed-eyed stare narrowed even further, but the expression on his face was difficult to interpret. Maybe it was annoyance. Maybe it was pain. Maybe it was fatigue. Maybe it was all of the above, or none of the three. Maybe, somewhere beneath the rage and irritation that was Aquamarine’s typical mood, he’d noticed that Faustite seemed a little off, and felt… something. Not quite concern, not even curiosity, but… something.
Aquamarine blinked, then shook the feeling away.

Super Taenite HP: 75/70“Faustite isn’t an idiot. He hasn’t been acting like one, either,” Taenite hummed somewhat lazily in response to Tama as he held the ring and listened to the message.
“Can’t say I’d want to suffer through being on a team that calls their superior officer an idiot,” he admitted, just as casually. He’d been observing as many of Faustite’s team as he could over the mission. As much as he could wink and flirt and bat his eyelashes at those who surrounded Faustite, if only to get under Faustite’s skin, Taenite would have to later ask Faustite why he put up with any of it.
“Caz, you could have joined him,” he said to himself as he curled his fingers around the ring once it was clear it wouldn’t burn him.
As a Senshi, he knew he wouldn’t be able to help locate the now youmafied General whenever he reformed, but maybe Faustite would like to hold onto the ring as a potential peace offering. If it was important for Galvorn to wear Caz’s ring until the end, then it had to be at least somewhat important to him.
He didn’t know the one Mauvian (Bellalunae), but he turned to both Tama and Heliodor with a charming smile that didn’t reach his eyes.
“Take as much offense from this as you want, but I don’t trust any of you not to use Faustite for your own gains and then turn around and sell him out when it’s convenient.”
Except for Albite. He’d met Albite and knew his loyalty, but he wasn’t going to say that out loud. And Taenite didn’t have to be on Faustite’s ******** of a team or engaged or married to him to be loyal. Strickenized Taenite is holding onto the ring to give to Faustite later.

Basic Corrupt Hylonome - resting ... comfortably? As comfortably as one could be 50/50 HP Med Kits: 3/3 Basic Spell Level 2/3Hylonome had been one of the first to go back up the lift. She didn't care. The soda she had ingested had only been able to help stave off full-blown medical shock for only so long. There was no warning really when her body finally decided it had had enough. Adrenaline only went so far and it was maybe with a mix of relief on her taxed system that she finally passed out.
When she woke it was to an unknown person prodding at the wound in her thigh. She let out feeble protest but it was enough to alert the field medic to her return to consciousness. Arrangements were made for her extraction from the area but Hylonome was almost adamant to wait until she could at least make sure that Prehnite knew what was going on. He was in charge of her team and she couldn't, make that wouldn't leave until he knew what the situation was.[Soft exit for Hylonome - girl needs some medical assistance that can't be found in the building] xStrickenized Hylonome thanks Psilomelane for the assistance she gave

Captain Seraphinite Checking the disheveled papers for forging results 6 HP: 75 / 75
The documentation was at least interesting. He skimmed over sketches and experiment notes--weapons, and youma, he noted. Had Galvorn's questions about the processes behind youmafication lead to self experimentation?
"Starting to wonder what the extent of his different research was here, he's got a few topics branching around," he said somewhat absently to Jet, though he was beginning to focus his attention on searching for anything specific about forging experimentations concerning the crucible in there with them. The fact Galvorn hadn't determined a pattern behind certain materials causing the inscriptions to glow was intriguing--Seraphinite wondered if specific examples were listed anywhere, or if at least any forging results were noted. He didn't see any immediate examples of a finished product at least there on the desk.
Strickenized Checkin' out papers/prox to Niter ---- Super Rigel Closer look at one of the broken daggers 6 + 2 = 8 HP: 75/75
Rigel listened vaguely to the discussion about the strange dagger and the crucible, all while he shifted through the open boxes with a few others. It all just looked like a bunch of s**t that should be sent to an armory--or to a forge to be melted down as scrap for some new piece, he thought as he eyed various broken daggers.
What was even the point of keeping all this around?
Broken laughter, quickly smothered, made him look up with a raised brow at the Lieutenant (Ransomite) picking up some of the shattered metal. "Find a joke in there?"
He peered closer at the should-be-scrap metal, reaching down in to pick up one of the broken daggers to take a closer look. Were there any inscriptions on it? Anything specific about the design..?

General King Jet HP: 125/89To Seraphinite, Jet shook his head. All of this was just as new to him as it was to everyone else.
“Says it runs hotter than one would expect. Felt cool to the touch even when filled with molten material, and that the inscriptions glowed, depending on what was placed inside, but Galvorn hadn’t figured out why,” Jet read from the pages to Faustite and the others standing by the crucible.
He paused for a moment to watch Faustite when he admitted to getting dizzy.
And then held up his hand to show his bandaged finger where he’d cut himself on the dagger when Aquamarine mentioned it. He doubted it was life threatening.
“Shame we can’t ask him,” Jet said in response to Seraphinite again, wondering what more they could have learned from the youmafied General had he not been immediately attacked. Strickenized Jet is inspecting the disheveled papers still. Roll: 4

Eternal Kamacite Kamacite used his Rugose Pendant. He is now a small, white, nine-tailed fox with red markings. HP: 100Kamacite couldn’t find anything that would immediately draw their concern, although he didn’t like how Faustite seemed to be affected too and was obviously not feeling himself. Maybe it was due to him being hurt, or having used so much energy before. The sooner they were back out of the Rift, the better. But for how, Kamacite felt safer blending in.
He stayed perched on Roselite’s shoulder, his many tails swishing behind him as they entered the chamber below. Kamacite directed Rosie to the room where Faustite had entered, eyeing the crucible suspiciously.
“Please be careful,” he squeaked his distress when he could see Faustite just reaching into the large pot. Why? Why couldn’t he have a Lieutenant reach in. One of the ones who hadn’t been injured! Super Corrupt Heliodor HP: 75 Despite all the attempted eye-batting, and coy words, having someone else berate Tamawas, well, both refreshing and also irritating at the same time. Especially coming from someone who wasn’t part of the team and thus didn’t understand any of the dynamics between the mauvian and the General. What cooled that flare of heat the corrupt felt though was the way Taenite stood there so boldly and called him, Helio, out for being untrustworthy along with Tama.
There was a very solid passion in those words. It seemed Faustite had found himself yet another loyal boy to him. Now, how far that loyalty went was questionable in and of itself, but it was enough for Taenite to feel obligated to throw accusations and assumptions.
Helio chuckled.“Taenite, right?” He questioned with a raised brow. He’d heard the others' name a few times now. “Look, first off, you are getting yourself up in arms about nothing.” He said as he gestured a hand to Tama. “Tama and Faustite have a very, uh, peculiar relationship. I’ve come to the conclusion that their love language to one another is vitriol and physical threats.” He shrugged as he glanced at Tama. He half expected the Mauvian to say otherwise, but Helio didn't much care. The fact the two of them were still walking around whole to this day said enough. “And honestly, who are you or I to judge how they interact with one another? In fact, Faustite had given me leave before to toss our dear Tama down the elevator shaft if I so wished. I knew he didn’t mean it. So did Tama. So perhaps, you should learn to pay more attention to how people act towards one another as opposed to what they say, hm?” He chided gently as he crossed his arms. Words he himself was trying to abide by now. How many times had be and Faustite been at each other's throats over misplaced words?
“As for me, I am probably the last one you need to worry about. If I had any intent to hurt Faustite there has been ample opportunities in the years I’ve known him. But, I honestly don’t care how much you trust me. It doesn’t matter as I am not here to impress you or make you like me. What I do care about it how you treat Faustite. Cause the last damn thing I’ll tolerate is someone hurting him out of some willy-nilly need to prove themselves to others.
“Now, I will say I can appreciate your loyalty to him as I see it now. He needs more people who see him for the strong, reliable person that he is. General or no, Faustite deserves the damn world and if you intend to give him just a small sliver of it then I don’t care if you like me or not. Just make sure Faustite just gets everything good that he deserves and is owed.”
He paused a moment, voice dropping to a softer cooler tone. "But let me inform you. While you stand there throwing out accusations I will back all of my threats up with the promise that if anyone, including you, hurt my boy, they will regret the day many times over."
Helio paused and glanced at the necklace and ring dangling in Taenite’s hand. “Make sure he gets that? Not sure if he’ll find a need for it, but best it be given to the leader of this mission in case he can pull any more information from it.”

“‘Love language’ my furry a**.” Tama muttered under his breath, a pinkness coming into his cheeks. “He’s still an idiot…”Presumptuous! None of these people knew him, not the senshi, not the general… The Mauvian returned his attention to the ring and was suprised to find one last message. “I get it, Arnaud. I understand that you will never return to us from the Negaverse. I understand that they have given you everything you could want, but for the friendships you left behind…”Something about just the words and no images made the message seem different, like it was speaking straight to him. Could it be? No, Tama knew that was impossible. Magic could do many things. But not that. What was happening was inside his heart. It had been there this entire time. It just needed the right trigger, the right words. Like a spell. Tama remembered him now. The knight. His knight. It was him that the knight of Cosmos had been reminding him of. For he had been a knight of Cosmos, too. But what had happened to him? Why had he left him? ☆

Eternal CymophaneHoarding papers; digging through one of the boxes of broken daggers.HP: 100 Papers littered the floor. Cymophane crouched to pick through them, reading what he could. Something about a dagger. Hadn’t there been one somewhere in here? Not the ones in nearby boxes. A different one. One that apparently hadn’t been made here.
Where had it been made, then? What was its purpose?
After the events of the day, it was hard to keep everything arranged in his head in a way that made sense, but these papers seemed important. At the very least, they were relevant to whatever else had been going on here, so Cymophane kept them. He would add them to the papers he and Taenite had saved earlier, in case Faustite wanted to look them over. Maybe he could make sense of them.
Cymophane moved along, joining a couple of the others at the nearby boxes of broken daggers. He dug through one of the boxes, handling the broken pieces delicately. Why keep the broken pieces? Unless they’d been put in boxes to be disposed of, or with the intention of being reused for something else.Strickenized Cymophane is digging through one of the boxes of broken daggers. Roll: 10 ------------- Captain RoseliteExamining the crucible and the dagger.HP: 75 Roselite was nothing if not obedient. He followed Kamacite’s directions, passing some of their allies who were busying themselves with other tasks. In another area that hadn’t been accessible before, they found Faustite and a few others gathered around a crucible. The topic of discussion appeared to be a curious looking dagger.
In his distress, Kamacite’s claws dug through Roselite’s jacket, pricking at the skin beneath. Roselite lifted a hand to give Kamacite a comforting pat between the ears.
Glancing around nervously, Roselite inevitably cast his gaze toward the dagger.
“Um…” He swallowed, shrinking in on himself like always. “Kamacite looked up a dagger in the database before, but… the data was corrupted, I think,” Roselite offered, voice quiet. “Cymophane mentioned it. Um… there might have been diagrams or notes on it…”Strickenized Roselite is looking over the crucible and dagger. Roll: 9 + 2 (recon) = 11
