Hello everyone. You can just call me Horses. I am 20 years old and currently attending college. I became interested it Greek mythology my freshman year of college while taking a Classical Mythology class. At home I have tons of Greek mythology books and Greek Literature. Some of my favorite pieces include Antigone, Medea, Lysistrata, The Illiad, and The Odyssey. I also love the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series. My Classical Myth teacher recommended the series to my class and I am very happy she did! I can't wait for The Lost Hero to come out October 12th!! My favorite Greek god is Poseidon. My favorite goddess is a toss up b/w Artemis and Demeter.

I have read the Aeneid and I do not like it. I don't like the fact that there are passages from the Iliad in the Aeneid and that the only things Virgil changed were the names of the people and the locations. I'm not a big fan of Roman mythology in general, but that is just my preference. I do love stories about Artemis though! 3nodding

The cover of the third book was a pegasus and a kid with grapevines on an metal eagle so I picked it up cuz it looked cool.

My name is Sabrina Danielle. I'm 7teen and will be graduating high school soon. I found this guild actually right after the 8th annual gaia ball under my old gaia account Sayomi Kenchi, and didn't get a chance to join. But it got hacked anyway. I've been intrested in Mythology for sooo long. Sadly the state of Kansas says we can't review it and isn't needed to graduate. Which lead me to do research and read about it all on my own. I love mythology. I think one of my favortite stories is Medusa and Posiden having Pegasus as their kid. I mean I dunno if that's true because there is so many stories. But it's fun to think about and listen to what people have to say about it. I love that there are so many god and goddesses and the smaller units. One of my favortie fictional books about the battle of Troy is Troy by Adele Geras, because it explains how Olympus was involved. Well its a good book. smile I'm so glad to be here. I'm hoping I can take a class on mythology in college soon.

Hehehe! I'm just not a big fan of plagarism. I actually did read a very funny Greek play after I read The Aeneid. The play was Lysistrata, and I recommend it. It is a very entertaining! ^_^

Hey, I'm new. I am a big fan of Greek mythology and am writing a book series based off of some of the myths. If you click on my siggy, you'll go to the first few chapters of IONA, my current novel. The publishing date will hopefully be next year when I finish the editing.
My favorite myths are Hades/Persephone and Eros/Psyche. I'm a sucker for romance.
Just in case you wanted to know, this is the current list of books I plan on writing: IONA (in progress): A take on the Eros/Psyche myth KORE: A take on the Hades/Persephone myth LYANDER: A myth of my own that combines a roman myth of Hero/Lyander and Orpheus.
Then I want to put in the Arachne/Athena myth and either the Daphne/Apollo or Marpessa/Apollo myth. I think my count is nearly seven books.

I never said that the Aeneid did not contain orginal ideas. I said that there are passages from the Iliad within the Aeneid. Is there a thread for Greek Lit. and Roman Lit. in the modern myth section or should I start a new one?
