Yumeko was reminded that the girl didn't have any money. Why not? Yumeko always had at least 1,000 Lien on her in case she needed it. Normally it would go to gambling, but if she wanted to eat, she would. Maybe that was the benefit of coming from a wealthy family, but even then, she would shrug. "Again, she only needs to gamble in order to stay. Whether she owes us ice cream now or in the future is another thing, it's more that she will have to pay up, whether with your money, or with her own money in the future." Yumeko's voice was serious. She was going to gamble at this time.
Then Damien would show up. How wonderful! Her maid was here! He was more of a manservant and a friend, but they had grown up together, under her sister. They were both taught the same things, and even though he tried to steal from her originally, that was all forgiven at this point. It was not forgotten, but forgiven. Rowser would then introduce himself to the two. "How rude Rowser, at least I introduced myself."
Then she would focus on Rena. She would accept the bet, Yumeko couldn't help but clap her hands in excitement. Then, the best thing happened. She offered another gamble, if she lost this time. Oh, those are the best words she could hear. Then she offered herself as a maid if she lost that second time. "I would be happy to schedule another gambling event, I'll even let you pick the game that time. I don't have need for a maid though. I do deal in other currency as well. You wouldn't guess how much information is worth. So if you lose that bet, I will ask for information instead of services. If you win, then I will give your girlfriend twice the money she spends on money. Or, if you want a more exciting version of this game, we could gamble with our lives on the line." Her eyes were still read this entire time. In fact, she sounded more and more excited, bordering on pure euphoria.
"Then I will get started my dear Rena." She would pick up a card, and look at it. She would then flip it over to show Valleria and Rena. "Oh, that's foreboding for this gamble. I got Death, the 13th card of the Major arcana. It normally means that there is a the end of a time. I wonder what it could be this time? The end of a winning streak, the end of a relationship, or death by grimm itself. The aura behind Yumeko was intimidating, as if she was trying to get a reaction out of them. What a surprise to know they brought the ice cream over! That was so kind! Making sure to pay a small tip on top of what Chase had contributed, she had allowed the team to get to the booth first. Such as the ways of the maid transgressed. Hosts, guests, and friend were always the first to be moving forward. Taking the only spot left in the booth areas itself, she beamed her big, bright green eyes to each of them, giggling. "You are all so nice!" Saying these few words were the sign of her acknowledgement, which was an utter amount of surprise. She had to say it at some point to them. They may not know her reasoning, or why it was randomly out of the blue, but she had finally went for it. Now that she had said it in fact, she sat a little back against the booth, pressing the tips of her fingers together. "Are you alright as well Poppo-kins?" Looking to the other female, her concern on her face was a grand gesture of concern. She had worried about them! It was her turn now to worry about Poppy in case she was hurt as well! Following social conduct was a nice thing to do! Especially while awaiting for their food. Roq was looking out the window, and both Chase and Poppy were content from what she could see. The sudden voice coming at her caused her heart to nearly jump out of her chest. From her body emerged a totem of a red-winged blackbird as she jumped and turned around to face the culprit. Of course, she should have known it was none other than Aurtrox. Catching her breath, her face scrunched up as she held a hand to her heart and the other grabbed the totem before it decided to smack into Aurtrox. "You know you shouldn't do that to me! You might get hurt," she commented with a sly smile. He knew her semblance well. He knew the consequences of her losing emotional control. "And... wow... you get a brain freeze ONCE. once as a result of a bet I couldn't eat ice cream faster than you and all of a sudden it is always!" The memory was actually a heartwarming one. It had been an odd form of training Autrox decided to use to help her learn to control her reactions. However, on that one day, the brain freeze, caused her totems to go ballistic throughout the whole ordeal.
She would take a breath and the totem would disappear, only to end up getting squished into a hug. "Can't... breath!" She joked playfully as she hugged him back.
The subject changed as he clearly couldn't help but wiggle in how much he knew. The shade was strong with him. Eszter was silent for a moment as she slowly licked her icecream, her gaze not shifting from Aurtrox to prove she wouldn't get a brainfreeze.
"THe shade is strong with you today, Headmaster." She stated after a few licks. "He is treating me just fine. I have no complaints."

It was surprising to hear Hades speak such words of comfort, even if they were done so in an odd manner, but what about her life had ever been normal? Despite who they both were, they had a softness towards one another. A soft side that they only showed to each other. A side of them that was vulnerable, that needed the other, even if it was not always admitted. This was the side of Hades she had come to learn over the past two years. A side that she knew he rarely if never, showed anyone else. Her breathing calmed as she nuzzled herself into him, his words hitting true. He was right. Why care? Why worry? It didn’t what the world thought of her, of them. It had never mattered before why should it matter now.
Lifting herself up, Blair raised herself just enough to have her lips gently meet Hades, waiting to see if he would receive her, which if he did she would allow a moment of passion pass between them before moving on. There was no need to say useless words like thank you when she could get the message across this way.
Pulling away she would shift the tone. Whatever fear she had within her was now gone. It was time to move on and take the next step in her life.
”You know…. we both have our exhibition fights coming up I believe.” She raised her eyebrows in his direction as she smiled at him slyly. ”If you hadn’t thought of a prize... how about me?” Blair’s eyes met his so he could see she truly meant it. There was no going back, only forward.

The reason he didn't come to Vale was because as the grimm attacks have been on the rise, the city's affairs have slowly worsened. Vale was overcrowded and and power outages were frequent. Beggars could be seen all over the streets. It was gloomy, and reminded Aurtrox of his mission. “Free ice cream? Noice. What am I feeling today,” Damien rubbed his hands together thinking about the endless possibilities: mint chocolate chip, tiramisu, strawberry shortcake? Oh yeah, definitely strawberry shortcake. The young man tilted his head while Rowser introduced himself.
‘Oh wait,’ Damien had a bead of sweat protruding from the side of his face, “Damien here.” The young man waved in embarrassment from his thoughtlessness.
Damien spaced out while the small one with bunny ears droned on. “wah, wah, wah, wah, wah,” he nodded in understanding hoping nobody would notice that he was actually nodding off. He fell asleep for a blink of a second before the weight of his body buckled beneath him. ‘Ahhh,’ Damien panicked standing back up swiftly looking around shiftily wondering whether anyone had noticed his little indiscretion but was quickly distracted.
“That is a bit morbid,” Damien looked not surprised but appalled at Yumeko’s suggestion of their lives on the line. “Personally,” the young man started putting a finger up dramatically, “I would have just offered cake.” Damien put a hand up blocking Yumeko’s face from his own while mouthing some words very quietly, “She really likes red velvet.” He then gave them the thumbs up with a big grin on his face.
Damien contorted his face in confusion as the other one spoke. He could not hear almost the entirety of everything that she had said, though he may have heard a name. Valertia? Valara? He would just stick with Val for the time being as to not draw suspicion to him. While he had not heard anything that she had said, she had a really kind look about her. Damien could not wait to give her a hug. New friends were the best.
Damien crouched down near Yume. He would pick up a card and flip it around for Yumeko to see. He nodded his head in approval. This card looked like a winner. ‘Cool,’ Damien admired the workmanship quietly. He did not know anything about her games but it made him happy to indulge her from time-to-time. Without her, he would be some nobody street rat barely making it. “Which one is this,” Damien questioned looking at Yume with a goofy grin and an inquisitive look. He hoped she spoke up. She knew how his hearing could be sometimes.

“Hey, I introduced myself!” Rowser said defensively. “Eventually....” Oh, right, the introductions. The other girls actually did respond to him. “Nice to meet yous!!” He shouted a little over-enthusiastically. Once Yumeko started her game, however, Rowser began to feel pretty uneasy. “Um...Y-yumi, you're doin' it again. Y'know, that thing where you start getting all crazy and stuff?” The boy glanced to Damien before looking back to her and inching away, “Like, can't we just for once have fun like normal peoples? You come in all twisting my arm with free ice cream then it escalates to death and murder and Grimm? Why always with the death? I get that gambling your life sounds like a good time, but you're not allowed to kill my friend!”
With a sigh, he unzipped his vest halfway and wiped some sweat from his forehead. It was way hotter than he thought it would have been today, maybe wearing so many layers wasn't such a great idea. But with the stories he grew up with it felt like a worse idea to risk his exoskeleton being seen. Still sitting in the sand, he looked up to Valleria and offered a sarcastic remark, “What a ray of sunshine, eh?” Finally he'd tilt his head back a little to look at Damien, increasing the volume of his voice, “I think somebody could use a hug maybe?”

So, honestly, it was kinda annoying her. Kinda a d**k move to take advantage of the fact that she couldn't get up to force her into gambling. However, there was a bit of a bright side here. Val needn't pay up if the time table was flexible like Yumeko explained. Meanwhile, the other guy that had joined them introduced himself and, Rena wasn't entirely certain she could keep up with all the information coming at her right now. Aaaand then things got weird as Yumeko suggested gambling with their lives.
"Okay, yeah, no. I'm good. To be honest, I don't even want to be a huntress. Only reason I'm here is to find a way to manage my semblance. So, I'm gonna pass on life or death bets. And, it's alright babe...if this is something that can be rainchecked on the payment, it's not that bad. But, if she's going to insist on gambling if I don't move now, she isn't really giving me a choice. I physically can't get up right this second. I think I got enough for two ice creams? So, I guess if I lose, the boys can get theirs now? Only reason they seem to be playing. And, I'm gonna go out on a limb and say this girl needs to gamble like I need to be high. So, I'm guessing you simply just want to gamble are are fine with waiting for the payout."
She looked at Yumeko as she said the last part before reaching out for the cards. She couldn't really lean to reach them though."Could you hold up the deck so I can flip my card?"She'd made the request of no one in particular, and waited for someone to do so before grabbing the top card and flipping it over for the group to see. She couldn't help but think she'd lucked out by someone already having drawn Death. Yumeko would smile when they said that things would be morbid, to the point they wouldn't bet their life against her. That was so sad, she wanted to live the thrill of almost ending things. How the cards would work against them, and for them. Yumeko would look over at Damien's card.
"In this form? This is a good sign my dear Damien. It means you are going in the right direction. There might be some conflicts in your way, but you'll run them over with your cart." She would then place a finger under his chin. "Have some confidence in yourself, and you can overcome anything." She would say all of this loud enough for Damien to hear. She knew her maid was hard of hearing. She'd trail her finger off of his chin, her eyes still beaming red. She would then go back to looking at Val and Rena. "It means we will be victorious in our battle for Ice cream!"
Then Rena would pick a reversed card. Yumeko peaked over her shoulder, her hair falling forward a bit. "Oh, the Hermit, but it's reversed...It's one where you will enter introspection of yourself. However, since it's reversed, it means that you might push away the ones you love. You'll feel isolated, lonely, and like you have been exiled. I'm sorry if this card comes true." The color in her eyes would remain, but she would have more of a compassionate expression on her face.
Then Yumeko would walk back to her boys. "By the math 13 plus 7 minus 9 would be a positive 9. Which means we win Ice cream~!" Yumeko would smile, and put her hand out to Rena. "Thank you for the gamble! It was so much fun!"

Damien noticed Rowser sweating like a pig. He chuckled punching his friend playfully on the arm, “You underestimated the heat, eh?” It probably did not help his case sitting in the sand but eh, whatever. Rowser looked towards Damien mentioning a hug but for whom? He was always thankful his friends indulged his quirk of being borderline deaf; an embarrassed bead of sweat clung to his forehead while Damien scratched the back of his head feeling a little guilty. It did not take very long for Damien to figure it out as the girl who appeared human shot back at Rowser alarmingly. “I guess not,” Damien looked uneasily from the girl he had internally decided would now be referred to as Val. Then, back to Rowser. Then, back to Val.
Damien returned his attention to the matter at hand: ice cream. Rena picked her card and Yumeko began to address the deeper meanings behind the cards which had been picked. ‘Thank goodness,’ he would have been lost otherwise. That was assuming that she spoke loud enough for him to hear. Damien squinted his eyes trying to hyper focus on the mouth movements of Yume. “Ahh,” She remembered! Thank goodness! Damien’s eyes glazed over while Yumeko continued to speak. “I do love a good adventure,” he beamed sporting a wide, toothy grin.
The young boy quieted himself after that little interjection allowing her to continue her explanation, ultimately leading to the declaration of winning. “Ice cream?!! Yes,” Damien drew out the sound of the ‘s’ excessively. “Thanks for playing along and for the ice cream,” he walked up to Rena draping an arm around her squeezing gently. Although, he did agree with her and Rena, gambling someone's life was never a thing he'd agree with. Much as he adored Yumeko, she tended to get more than a little carried away with the gambling every all the time. Honestly, he wasn't listening to most of the things she explained about the cards and their meanings and blah blah blah. There was ice cream afoot!
