While Dallas and Naomi worked their way through the maze, Rotom and Jingū were still playing games. Or, at least, they had been until five minutes ago, when Rotom had forced them to take a break. It was, slowly but surely, growing tiresome just watching Jingū play the same four games, over and over again. But, more importantly, the little fruit needed to take a break too. While the games were meant to be fun, repeating them consistently quickly took a toll on one's stamina, as it did with hers.

Dallas took a moment to look over the items up for grabs, muttering to himself as he thought over the choices. There were plenty of things to look over, especially all of the TMs up for grabs. But, he ended up picking up some Lansat Berries (which were pretty hard to find) and a Gold Stone, which he was sure would be useful for...something. He actually didn't know what it was for exactly, but it caught his eye and a gut decision was made. However, Dallas took his time, as he was embarrassed about him spilling the beans about his personal life like that. It was only when he heard Naomi say that he couldn't make a decision. "Indecisive Naomi, what am I gonna do with you..." Dallas walked up close to Naomi, and looked over some of the items, trying to think of what would be best for Naomi. "Hm...well, since you're still doing that Kahuna deal, maybe you should get some Technical Machines," he recommended. "There's a lot of good moves that you can pick up to give you an edge."

Meanwhile, Susan and the crew had just gotten done eating a big meal at an open-air restaurant, and were in the process of high-tailing it out of there as the owner made chase. This is all your fault, Susan! Meloetta shouted in a scolding tone. Susan pouted and shot daggers at the Melody Pokemon. Shush Meloetta! How Susan 'sposed to know that food place no take tickets? Beltigre caught up to the two of them and hissed at them both. "You idiots are hurting my head with all of your complaining! Just shut up and run!" Buns hopped near the rear of the pack, not caring much for all the arguing. "You know, Dallas isn't going to be happy about this," she reminded them. "Dallas is trying to be a good human now, remember? And we just stole..." Riptide only growled and shimmied as quickly as his frame allowed along the ground.
"Okay, you morons! Split up and hide!" Beltigre took the lead and darted off to a Spinarak Web Crawl that had been set up. She carefully ran across the bouncing ropes and almost made it to the end, but instead she used the extra bounce to hop up and over the stand altogether to hide in between the other ones. Buns accepted the tickets Beltigre had won before hopping off to hide behind some trash bins. Meloetta (protesting loudly the entire time) snuck into a pumpkin patch, and found one large enough to hide inside. Ew, my costume...oh, tickets! As for Riptide and Susan, they didn't have to hide. Instead, they simply turned and intimidated their pursuer so much, he decided to eat the cost and bail out.

Trey was looking around in the sky, because at this point, he at least needed Carona now. He noticed a bit of fire light up in the sky, and narrowed his eyes, casting a short glance back to find the peafoul still on his heel, flapping her wings, and on the verge of sending sharp feathers at him, to the best of her abilities. He quickly ducked around and darted for what he was fairly certain was his pokemon, or at least, hopefully one of someone who could help divert his pursuers attention. By some miracle, he reached the cornfield in time for Carona to sweep down and take notice of him, looking distantly curious, and glancing over to the bird squawking after his trainer. He flapped his wings casually, eying it, before catching onto the situation, and beating his wings with a bit more strength, sending a wave of heat at the pokemon, who chirped in surprise. Trey managed to stop in his running and stand back, watching, but looked over as a quizzical Shade and Cherish came out, covered in tickets, and.... plushies? He didn't really have time to take in the sight, as the now very tired looking bird attempted to shake off the attack. She wobbled, her eyes practically closed as she tried to stay conscious, and weakly charged at him again.
He caught sound of something behind him, and as it turned out, it was a surprised chirrup from Cherish, before the gekkit slipped from his possessions, and leaped over, body bumping the pokemon away from his trainer, and landing with surprise. Trey glanced back, frowning as he noticed Shade was already disinterestedly getting soemthing from one of the attendees. An... XP Ball? ".... Sha--" Trey cut himself off, but took advantage of the sound catching Cherish's attention instead, and he gestured to the item Shade was getting. The gekkit chirped to his companion, and the wolf pup looked over, staring a moment, before walking over, and offering the pokeball to Trey. The false mute grabbed the pokeball a moment and looked it over, then looked to the very unconscious peafoul laying on the ground. He rolled the ball in his hand a moment, before lobbing it at the bird. This time... it dinged almost instantly.

Trey walked over and picked up the pokeball-- an xp ball, actually -- and looked it over, before moving his gaze up. He noticed the other pokemon, a muddy brown, but still visible amongst the crowd, staring at him past the passing legs of the carnival's visitors. It was an intense stare, though not as rageful as its sisters had been. The pokemon shifted, then puffed his wings out a bit, before looking around, almost paranoid. Were they being hunted as well? Were there predators? The pokemon suddenly looked cautious, like it expected something to swoop out of nowhere, and Trey slowly turned to look back at his pokemon, appraising all of the things they had tangled around them. "Where'd you two get all of this..." he muttered, leaning down to sift through it. Two more xp balls, tickets... and some plushies? Cherish gekkered and shook off the tickets he'd recollected, before bounding off towards the front of the maze. Shade paused, then calmly slipped from his possessions as well, and turned to follow its companion, at a more relaxed pace.

Once the coast was clear, Beltigre got everyone back together. "Okay, you dummies, let's go find Dallas. Obviously you guys can't do anything without getting into trouble." Everyone begrudgingly agreed, but on the caveat that they try their hand at just a few more games. Riptide took a swing at the Squash Smash, and left a sizable dent into a Super-sized one. "RIPTIDE SMASH! WELL, A LITTLE!" Meloetta watched the spectacle while she wiped her costume clean of pumpkin splatter. Well done, Riptide! You're truly the mightiest of us all. The shark shimmied and blushed a little. "Well, Riptide don't know about all that, ehehehehe..." Meanwhile, Beltigre was bullying Buns into doing the Pumpkin Search. "Who cares if your ears get dirty? Get to diggin'!" After making the mental note to tattle on the mean torracat, she complied, and found a set of ten tickets inside. "Oh, I found some!" Beltigre swiped the tickets. "Good work! I'll be taking these!" Buns, fed up at the point, began to chase after Beltigre to reclaim the stolen tickets.

Dallas looked at Naomi's selection, and shrugged his shoulders. "Those can come in handy, for sure," he replied. "Just keep your pokemon outta them. That's how I ended up with a Megalodon from a baby shark." When asked about his own selection, Dallas showed off the Gold Stone he had gotten, as well as the Lansat Berries. "Not sure what the stone's good for, but it looks neat. As for these berries, well, Austin could definitely use them to good effect. Matter of fact..." Dallas took a few of the berries, and after pulling out a few portable berry growers, set them up to start growing. "There we go, now I'll have even more, I hope."
When Naomi asked about what they would do next, Dallas looked around the area until he saw the entrance to what was supposed to be a haunted house. "Damned House of the Dead and Damned? Not much of a name, but that might be fun." Dallas smirked internally. Plus, if Nao-kun gets scared, he'll totally want me to protect him, right? Fufufufu, Dallas, you sly dog! Dallas put his stuff away and slung the bag back around his shoulder. "C'mon, Naomi, let's see if you got the balls to...um, excuse me, what the hell?"
As Dallas tried to speak, a small child in a Snorunt costume had walked right up and hugged his leg. "I found you, Mr. Bonejangles! Here's a biiiiiiig hug!" Dallas was caught completely off guard. He tried to nudge the kid off of his leg gently, but the little b*****d was hung on tight. Soon, other small children swarmed, calling Dallas Mr. Bonejangles. It was getting irritating, to say the least. "Kids, you're trying my patience," he said as nicely as he could, "So, please let go before I make you into an actual ghosts." The kid obliged, but look disappointed. "But the nice guy that got me ice cream said you loved hugs!" He didn't know which was more upsetting: that a kid was hanging out with a stranger that was giving away ice cream, or that somebody was trying to get kids to bother- oh. Him. Dallas squatted down to the kids' eye level, and smiled a toothy grin. "Well, thanks anyways kiddos! I'm sure you're just doing your best! Say, wanna do me a super special Spookival favor?" The kids nodded, and Dallas leaned in to whisper to them: "See, that fella is a mysterious stranger that likes to touch little kids' hearts by getting them treats. Thing is, he never gets any recognition for it."

That's why, you need to tell all of your parents how that stranger touched each and every one of you, just tell 'em: That stranger bought me ice cream and touched me! Got it?" The kids all agreed, eager to help out their ice cream stranger. "Okay, Mr. Bonejangles!" The children exclaimed. "Let's go! Mr. Stranger is gonna be so happy!" With the kids dispersed, Dallas stood back up, and smiled at Naomi. "Little brats aren't all that bad, huh? Well, c'mon, let's get movin'."

"Oh?" The idea of Riptide evolving so rapidly, just from eating a few pieces of candy, was humorous, as shown by the laugh Naomi tried to hide behind his hand. "I will make sure to store them in a safe place," he promised, once his laughter petered out. He nodded his head as he looked from the stone to the berry, and watched as Dallas planted a few, though the mention of the coordinator expert urged Naomi's curiosity. "How has Austin been? I have not heard from in quite some time."
Even though Naomi had been the one who'd encouraged Dallas to pick their next activity, his eyes still widened when he suggested a haunted house. Ah... why he hadn't been particularly interested in exploring, he still nodded his head. "That sounds fine." Before either could take a step forward, a gaggle of excited children intercepted them. "I did not realize you were so popular with children," Naomi mused, and watched as the costumed kids hugged him.
It wasn't long after that Naomi became distracted by his own children, or, rather, pokemon. "Naomi." He turned at the call, and brightened when he saw Rotom and Jingū. "Ah, welcome back! Have you two grown tired of games?" Jingū shook her head, before taking the time to shove tickets into her trainer's hands. "Not quite. But, we're hungry," Rotom explained, eyeing his game partner. "So, if you wouldn't mind, we'd like some money to buy lunch, for the entire team. I figure they want to eat too." Rotom brought up a good point, and, as embarrassing as it might be to admit, it'd completely slipped Naomi's mind that they'd yet to have lunch.
"That is fine with me! Ieyasu, would you like to go with them?" Naomi asked as he proceeded to release the rest of his team, and then hand Jingū his wallet; since she was the only one with hands, she'd be in charge of holding it, though he fully expected Rotom to be the one to keep an eye on it. Ieyasu, after setting the team with a steady gaze, shook his head and stepped closer to Naomi, indicating he'd stay with him. "Very well then! Everyone, please listen to Rotom and do your best to stay out of trouble. Dallas, Ieyasu, and I will be in the haunted house, if you need us," he instructed. Though, he did take the time to glance at Sousa, silently appointing him 'second-in-charge'. The bird, completely understanding this, ushered the pokemon forward with a jerk of his head before taking to the skies.
"...I'll make sure not to run you dry," Rotom spoke, as a way of farewell, before joining the others. Naomi, fully confident in his pokemon, nodded his head before he turned back around to Dallas who, conveniently, had just finished up with his own little group. "You have sent your mini fanbase off already?" he asked teasingly, but already he was walking to the haunted house.

The bits of straw, hay, and broken corn husks rustled under Trey's feet as he walked along the maze, glancing up at Carona, who honestly, he wasn't 100% was actually leading him somewhere. The fire bug was floating peaceably, and looking off, at something, but he didn't seem to be tracking something, and it was very much a drift, rather than a directed flight, that he seemed to be moving in. That being said, it wouldn't hurt to venture the maze his own... maybe he could get an extra praize out of it. He had no idea that some of these activities could be so profitable, and given how much he preferred to use xp balls, how many pokemon he now had, and how many berries he really needed to stock up on, he could use all the opportunities he could get.

Once into the foyer, it was clear that the haunted house was acutally a lot bigger than it appeared on the outside. There was tons of cobwebs and tattered drapes that lined the walls of the chamber, with a rickety staircase leading up towards different rooms. There were also more rooms on the ground floor, with one marked with what could only be fake blood a la corn syrup and dye. "Pfft, this is hilarious!" Dallas, ever fearless, walked brazenly through the foyer, setting off obvious creepy triggers like fake spiders and bats that fall from the rafters and the like. Eventually, Trey did run into some familiar pokemon, though it wasn't Shade or Cherish. It was that... grovyle and vaporeon, that he'd taken in, and he frowned a bit as he approached them. He looked away, contemplating his options here, before glancing around, and looking back at them. "Did JR leave you two here?" he asked, frowning and coming to a stop. They both turned, caught off guard, but exchanged a look. He sighed and looked away. "I deanno what he might've told you two, but you don' have t'be out here if you don't want. I can return you to yer pokeballs, if you want. Or you can leave the maze and find him," he offered, folding his arms over his chest, "He might still have those, actually, now that I think about it." Talking that much was not pleasant, especially to an audience that couldn't take over the conversation, but after they exchanged another long look, and nodded, he looked up to the sky and got Carona's attention. He could probably find Shade and Cherish on his own; he wasn't going to call for them, but there were only so many directions they could go.
