Although Zindel wasn't too good with the technology himself, he couldn't help but grab a pen like the rest and try to decipher the codes. Sure, he had horrible reading skills, but he asked a few trolls around what one word would say, and gradually made sense of the codes. It felt so nervewracking sometimes, and hiding his papers away proved to get harder and harder with each time he did it as Etsali grew more and more suspicious. Maybe he needed to try and stop reading things aloud. Or maybe he needed to learn how to read, just as Stryke had offered.
...What. What was he even saying, he didn't need to read, that wasn't essential. Surviving was. Books were for chumps. (In reality, reading was just hard. But he'd never admit that.) Rubbing his neck as Zindel struggled over the last few letters in the cryptogram, he couldn't help but wrinkle his nose and kinda... Sorta... Squint. He could barely see the paper, fuuck. Was his eyesight going bad?! No, of course not. He'd be fine. Finally he kept at it, squiggling a few hard words and trying to make sense f them and pronounce matters before words and fusing things. Ugh, ******** everything... He only wanted the money at the end.
This would give him an assured win, he was sure of it. Money to last him for a while, hopefully. Maybe now he'd have somewhere to keep his kept gerbils... Sliding a hand through his hair and shaking the dirt out of it, he kinda sorta wrinkled his nose. Pursed his lips... Before finally, mumbling it aloud and realizing it sounded correct. He scribbled things down and quickly rushed to the counter.
"Give me a ticket. Yeah. Just one."

Maihue was definitely not one to cheat. But this situation was different. Sort of. Maihue sat out on an empty part of the beach, a little far off from all of the events going on, but still close enough so that she could hear all the noises and laughter going on. She tied her hair back as she stared own at the puzzles in front of her, trying to solve them as quick as she could. There wasn't really a real reason for her to solve them, but she had started and she absolutely needed to finish or it would just completely drive her crazy!
She massaged the sand into her hand as she intently stared. "If this goes here... and... Oh! I see..." Maihue muttered to herself as she started to understand certain parts of the puzzles. She finished a couple of the puzzles and put them to the side and took a little breather. She leaned back and put her hands behind her, burying them into the sand. She stared off towards the direction of the festival, and was certainly glad that she had come here to do the puzzle. She wouldn't have been able to focus with all of the noise going on over there. Sure, she loved the booths, it was a lot of fun! But she needed some peace and quiet everyone once in awhile.
She sat back up and took a look at the rest of the puzzles. "Oh!" Maihue realized there was only one left. She finished it up and lay them all side by side. She nodded as she wrote down the answer, got up and headed off to get the ticket.
Maihue walked up to the booth. "I um... I finished. May I have a ticket?"

Hivestuck My name is: Etsali Azeban I am in team: Orange I am searching area(s): 3, 1, 1 The area they wanted her to search for treasure was pretty nice, compared to a lot of the other ones. Not so deep, so she didn't have to worry so much about her gear, and the water was nice and clear. Etsali wasn't sure what to think about all the giant starfish, so she mostly just kept her distance just in case they were capable of attacking or something. There was plenty to find out here in the open spaces, anyway. She just hoped none of it was damaged or anything, cause she intended to bring back the very best pieces tonight. Hivestuck My name is: Lorata Gorgos I am in team: Purple I am searching area(s): 2, 2, 4. Lorata bounced out into the water happily, enjoying how clear the water was before all those lowbloods managed to come by and to muddy things up. There were so many giant starfish down here tonight, and she just knew that they would know exactly where all the good salvage was. So decided, the little seadweller dove down to swim all around the sea creatures, searching the sand for the distinctive glimmer of metal debris. There was bound to be something around here somewhere...She wondered, suddenly, if one of them was sitting right on top of what she was looking for, but before she could begin to tug at one of them, she finally saw that glint further on.

Etsali had come in intending to pick up a few lottery tickets and try her luck, but she'd been more than interested to note that others in the area seemed to be relying on more than just their luck. And hey, if there was a surer way to make sure she got the reward at the end of this little contest, she definitely wanted in on it. It had taken some mad scrambling to come up with a notepad and a pencil in time to copy down the first garbled clue that had come up across the screen, but somehow she'd managed it.
From there, she only had to keep coming by every day to pick up more and more clues until finally she thought she'd gotten enough of them to really work through and figure out which ticket number she ought to be going for. Finding a bench to sit on, and glancing around to make sure no one was close enough to see what she'd deciphered already, she got to work until finally seven numbers were sprawled across the top of her page. Grinning, she went through it all one more time just in case, just to double check she'd matched everything up properly.
All that was left now was to go buy the thing! She glanced at the number one last time, to make sure she'd be able to say it right, and then went up to the counter to request it. It'd be nice if all lotteries came with clues like this.

Hivestuck My name is: Maihue Tivona I am in team: green I am searching area(s): 2, 3, 3 Maihue walked over to the beach, ready to start swimming. The days are her booth had gotten slower, and things had definitely calmed down other than the weekend events, and it was starting to sadden Maihue. She was going to miss Bloodfest, it had been a blast for her. She zipped up the wetsuit and walked into the ocean. She decided to head over to the second section. The entire area seemed to be pretty bare, and the night before she had brought up some unsatisfactory items. Still, she looked as hard as she could till she had to move onto the next area. The third area seemed to be pretty bare itself, but Maihue didn't want to leave the water so soon, so she decided to stay in the third area for as long as she could. She wasn't hurting anyone and no one was waiting for her, so why not?

Hivestuck My name is: Stryke Nvrmor I am in team: Yellow I am searching area(s): 2 (three times). Stryke came down by the water’s edge, and while still uncomfortable he was mostly at peace that evening. His two little gerbil friends made it easy to forget just how uneasy he was. Memories of the last few days during Bloodfest replayed over in his mind several times as he sighed, smiling ever so slightly. Zindel had been resistant to their speaking, but he didn’t feel nearly as bad about the situation. Maybe there was still hope they could hang out before everything was over. Or perhaps at a future time and point. So long as it was never, Stryke could be patient and wait. Shrugging as he got setup for the night to go fishing. His mind wandered to the orangeblood he could do without, but he realized…maybe he’d just been rude it was their booth after-all and they had put in a great deal of hard work and energy. Not feeling up to adventuring around the area, he hummed quietly as he sat down on a rock face overlooking the water. One of his gerbils had settled on his bent knee, while the other lazily leaned over his shirt, head poked out as he watched the water lazily. Stryke paused to give each a gentle pat before he noticed the tugging on his fishing rod. Instead of fussing with the nets and rocks he decided to try his luck with that. Grunting he reeled in his line, staring in wonder at the weird star shaped creature and it’s rigid body. “woah…dad it’sss somekind of weird animal life!” he blinked at it giving it a curious prod as it squirmed. Putting it aside, he went back to fishing, finding some old junk, and a slightly shiny bit of metal he’d managed to land. Scooping up his second gerbil off his knee and tucking him along with the other back in his sweater, he went to turn in the goods and head to go find the four of them dinner for the evening.

Hivestuck My name is: Voscil Torgny I am in team: Yellow I am searching area(s): 3 (two times), 1 Voscil was determined to try and find some kind of goodies out in the ocean, who knew when she’d have a chance at trying this kind of activity again? Flippers on and oxygen tank equipped the kid practically threw herself into the water as she took off like a little freight train. While swimming wasn’t nearly as easy as running on land, it paid off when one could rely on their own powers. Twisting and pushing herself down lower, before she stopped to touch one of the weird bumpy sea creatures. Gleaming with delight she gave it a few pokes and prods, inspecting it from different angels before she gave up messing with it. Sure they felt nice to touch, but they weren’t really worth bringing back. Not to her anyway. Rolling her eyes she combed the third area for what amounted to most of her time down below the water’s surface. Finding mildly satisfactory goods, she stuffed the light blue and purple bauble in her bag pleased with how it shone even under water. A lot of the good had already been combed over in all reality, so it made the process harder than in nights previous. Luckily she found a green plate like object, and quickly added it to her boon. Once she was done scavenging this area, she swam off to the first section having spied something while she was messing with the sea creature. Vos had forgotten to grab it in her hurry to try and find shinies. Pleased when she located the gold and purple item, she snatched it up content with what she’d obtained. With that’s he returned back top side, turned in the goods and went to go play with her lusus for a while before hitting up more booths.

Hivestuck My name is: Aerona Scrall I am in team: Red I am searching area(s): 1, 1, 3 "N-no way..." Aerona mumbled. She was in her land clothes now. There would be no more swimming lessons until she was fully convinced that sharks wouldn't be attracted by her open wound. "Can you two just go for me?" Since she'd been attacked, Aerona had been more reserved than usual. Sophitia's shell had started to crack when she had exposed her spines, and she was nearly ready to molt. But there was no way in hell she would molt when her charge was being so irresponsible! Sophitia needed to protect her firebrand child, and Bloodfest was turning out to be much more dangerous than she had bargained for. As it turned out, Aerona could handle physical situations and extreme challenges... But not the simplest etiquette. She'd be culled some day. Sophitia's shell was being held together by threads and medical tape, but she still committed to finishing what she started. The responsible lusus took a dive while Aerona wibbled in the boat. She quickly produced a chunk of something or other, and then another. "Shall we go over there? I believe I see some large sea life. You can probably see it from the surface," Sophitia softly asked. "Sure." Aerona pulled in her knees and looked out onto the horizon. Even blowing stuff up wasn't very fun today, and she didn't have the energy to hide it from Odette. Aerona took a stick out of her bag, lit it, and watched it for a few dangerous seconds. Her eyes caught the light. She tossed it behind her and sulked as it plopped into the water and detonated.
