It was obvious that nobody was going to take him up on his training offer, so Areku turned and paid the bar tender his glass of water. He then turned and walked out the door. "Maybe the captain will be in her office now.'' he said to himself. So that is where he headed.

Reikai entered the bar and sat down, rubbing her aching arm. She ordered some sake and waited patiently. Her head hurt a little, and she sighed. She wondered if Kei had gotten her note yet, wheter Nexo was awake or not, and where Maikeru was. She shook her head. She was thinking too much. Her sake came and she started drinking.

Reikai, after drinking not that much, stood up and left the bar.

((Continuation from "The Arrival" just after "The Awakening" in the second post of William's character profile.))

He wandered into a pub that had the smell of food and booze coming out of it. No one had yet protested to him entering through the gates he had passed nor from entering the bar, so he didn’t think anyone had a problem with his presence. He waved down the bartender and asked for the day’s special. He dug in heartily to his meal of miso soup, noodles, and a little bit of seasoned meat. His meal was followed by a little bit of Sake and a relaxing moment in one of the booths. William couldn’t help but think the whole thing strange. Was he dead? And if so, then was he in heaven? Why was he wearing a black hakama and half of a haori? Where did the swords come from? Why did he have a strong cat tail and ears? These questions and more filled his mind while he tried to enter the trance-like state he had enjoyed earlier in the day before he was robed and armed. He tried to remain as inconspicuous as possible where he sat, but he likely stood out to anyone who was a regular.

He was looking into his second bottle of Sake after trying to answer a few of the questions himself. Naturally, he thought his answers to be incorrect. He was given a few raised eyebrows from some of the others wearing black robes, but none ever seemed to approach him to question who he was. "Suits me fine," he thought to himself while he picked up the new bottle and poured himself a drink.

While waiting for something he was unsure of, he started examining his new state. The two swords on his arms really were strange, but they did not hinder him in the least or off-set his movements. On the contrary, he hardly felt their weight at all. His tail laid calmly in his lap awaiting his inspection as well. "This is too w-w-eird..." he shivered at the strange sensation of petting it had brought him. The fur was very soft, and seemed patched with the occasional spot of dark blue. He received a small static shock from merely petting it but nothing that wasn't ignorable.

"Who are you?" a female said before sitting down in front of him. He recognized her as one of the girls that had come into the bar after him. Her tone was slightly hostile but at the same time curious.

"My name's William, and you?" he asked genuinely.

She smiled and looked as if she was going to tell him her name, but she became very serious a split second later. "Glad you know your name, but seriously, what Squad are you in? You aren't in 10th Squad or I'd remember you."

William furrowed his brow, "Squad?" What the heck was she talking about. Suddenly it became crystal clear to him; the similar uniforms, the swords, the neat and orderly state of the area he had entered, the word Squad. He had to cover up for his mistake or he might be arrested by what he realized was a law enforcer or at least what he thought was a law enforcer. His cheeks flushed and he did his best to act somewhat drunk, "Oh Squad, right....um, actually, I am 10th Squad. I'm new."

She looked him up and down for a moment before she set her hands together. "Funny, I don't remember the Captain, Vice-Captain, or Seats saying anything about a new recruit. What's the name of our Captain? Surely the officers at the Academy told you our Captain's name before you were dispatched."

She watched his every move while he thought of a way out of her question. "Um, well, you see, I sort of forgot his name. I tend to do tha-HEY!" She was standing in a moment and had reached for her sword.

"You're an intruder and a very bad liar. Guys, help me out here with him." She had spoken to a few guys now standing over by one of the tables. They were coming closer and all had their hands on their sword hilts.

"Look, I don't want any trouble. I...I think I just died, so I'm really not in the mood for a fight." He was now standing and mentally preparing for an unarmed fight despite the two swords on his arms.

"Intruder, I hereby arrest you and will take you into custody. Whether or not I use physical force is up to you. Give up your weapons and come quietly." She took a step closer to him.

"Fine, fine, but I don't know how to remove these....things....they just appeared all of a sudden when I woke up here." He searched the scabbards of the swords, but he did not find and bindings. Instead he started to draw his weapons to remove them.

"Sir, do not draw your weapons. Hand them over in their scabbards and come quietly." She had drawn her weapon at his attempts to remove his weapons from their scabbards.

He looked at the razor sharp sword now before him with wide eyes and said, "I can't remove them. There aren't any ties and they're too tight to slide-."

"Sir remove your weapons now!"

He sighed and said, "Are you deaf? I can't remove them; they're stuck." Upon trying to show the woman that the scabbards were stuck to him, he reached forward and sneezed. At that very moment, something grappled with his stomach. It wasn't the Sake; he could drink several more bottles before he would feel anything. No, something else was wrong.

He fell to his hands and knees as something wrenched inside him. "Sir stand up this instant!" Her words went unheard by him because of something very painful squeezing at his throat. His fingers suddenly enlarged before his eyes while his feet scraped open his tabi with unusually large claws that he had not previously noticed. He both heard and felt bones cracking all over in his body while muscles stretched and reformed here and there. His face grew into one of a leopard, while his body took on the shape and colors of a black leopard as well.

The transformation finished, giving him a small window of relief before the pain lanced through him again; this time he reverted back to a human form. He had lost consciousness in the pain and was left helpless before a shocked group of onlookers. Several moments of silence passed before she finally said, "M-men, get this person to the Captain's Office and put him in the strong restraints. The Captain will be interested with this one."

Her subordinates did as they were told and disarmed William before they carried him out of the bar toward Evil Wolf's Office. Her fingers ran over the deep scratch marks in the wood where the man had tried to hold on. "What are you?"

((William is being carried there at the moment.))

((Continuation from here.))

William sauntered back into the bar holding his head from the hangover of being drunk for give or take an hour or so. He sat down at the bar and ignored the comments on his return before ordering a pitcher of water. "I am so confused right now....what the hell is happening to me? Strange visions, strange costumes, strange people....this is just like that time when I traveled from Rome to England with those gypsies in the middle ages, chaos everywhere only this time not as fun....and I think I'm dead too." He drank deeply from his pitcher of water, for his head was practically splitting open.

After another pitcher and a comment on how much William's tab had gone up from the bar tender, he slipped out of the bar to find a place to relax again. Slowly he thought he might be regaining his wanderlust from the constant change of scenery. He wandered back out to the only other place he had been besides the Captain's office.

A figure walked into the bar with a small smile as the figure wore a hood which covered his head and had a small opening to allow the person to have sight, however the hood would become a minor hindrance as a hand rose up and took off the hood. The hood came off the head as it was unattached to any kind of clothing as it was a strange hood-cape mix as its owner walked over to a seat and sat down as the hand holding the hood rose upward as it was placed on the counter. The persons eyes were closed as he sighed before opening them up revealing a pair of dark glimmering violet eyes as he looked around. "Weird, I thought she was following me..." The person spoke in a calm tone as he looked at the entry way as he had come from the Fourth Division's healing facility with someone, but it seemed the person disappeared for a moment.

Kasen tapped his fingers as he waited patiently as he Reikai to appear as he stopped his tapping of fingers for a moment. He stood up and took off his cloak to reveal his shihakusho underneath as he preferred to be comfortable and he only needed the cloak on occasions and travels. "I really thought she was behind me..." Kasen thought to himself as he waited patiently in his seat.

Reikai shook her head from the droplets of water someone had sprinkled on her with a giggle as she stepped into the Squad's bar. Her raven colored locks fell into her eyes and she brushed them away with delicate, pale fingers as she looked around for the companion she came out of the Fourth Squad's healing facility with. Her emerald gaze found Kasen sitting a way in and she brightened, heading over as quickly as her newly healed wounds would allow her. She joined him in a seat across from him. "Gomen, Kasen-sama. I got a bit side-tracked." She apologized, referring to the reason why she looked like it had rained briefly on her head.

Kasen stopped his minor annoyance as he turned his head to see Reikai come in as he smiled a bit at the sight of her. "It's no problem, Reikai-chan." Kasen said as he gently brushed her hair to let the droplets of water rinse into her hair to give a small shine to it. "Well, what would you like?" Kasen asked as he realized they haven't had much time to themselves like this before as he looked at her. He ordered two small glasses of iced water to simply start them off as a bartender nodded as he brought them their drinks in a short while as he bowed courteously before returning to his post. Kasen nodded to him as he left as he wauted for Reikai's response.

Reikai smiled back, glad that he wasn't annoyed with her since a lot of people tended to be that way around her. It was why Kasen was the only other person she adored other than her brother. But this wasn't a sibling-like adoration. Not to her, at least. She blushed slightly as he brushed the quickly disappearing droplets of water on her hair away and she gave a small smile. "Anything is fine with me, Kasen-sama. I'm not really sure what to order." She admitted sheepishly.

Kasen smiled a bit as he ordered a small plate of mitarashi dango to start them off. The bartender nodded as he prepared their dango while Kasen looked at Reikai. "Feeling better?" Kasen asked as he took a sip of water as its been a while since he simply talked like a normal person, years since his arrival and he's constantly been in training with the other squad members and he realized he hadn't been given any time to himself before. Kasen placed the glass down as he folded his hands together as the bartender brought them a plate with a stack of mitarashi dango as they order. Kasen thanked the bartender as he looked at Reikai.

While Reikai was wondering what was mitarashi dango, she glanced up at Kasen when she felt his eyes on her. "Yes, lots." She nodded. Truthfully, she was nearly a hundred and one percent better, but she'd still need to rest up a bit if she didn't want to end up at the medical facility again. When the bartender served them the dango, she tilted her head slightly at the sweet. Oddly enough, she never had any type of dango before, living or in death. "Um....Kasen-sama, what's this?" She asked curiously, picking up a stick of the dango.

Kasen looked at her slightly as he tilted his head in a slightly confused manner. "You don't know what mitarashi dango is? It's a dumpling made from mochiko or rice flour, covered in a special syrup." Kasen told her as he explained the treat before as he never had to exactly once in his life. Kasen picked one up into his hand as he held it raising it to his mouth as bit on the first dango off as its sweet sauce met his mouth in a flavorful feel as he chewed for a moment before swallowing the sweet. "Try it." Kasen said as he smiled a bit as he assured it was fine and a small treat to start them off.

Reikai shook her head and twirled the sweet in her fingers slightly. She blinked at the dango, slightly wierded out, but bit into it slightly. The sweet, but sour-ish, sauce touched her tongue and she chewed experimentally before swallowing. It wasn't....all that bad. It was pretty good. "It's so strange." She commented. "But good." She added as an afterthought before she bit into the second dango.

Kasen smiled a bit as he bit into another piece as he finished it quickly as he looked at the table for a moment. Finishing the third one, Kasen looked up at Reikai as he asked in a quiet tone. "Did you enjoy meeting your zanpakuto?" Kasen asked as was curious what kind of zanpakuto spirit would be bonded with Reikai as each zanpakuto were different. Finishing the last one on the stick, Kasen placed the wooden stick on the plate as he took a sip of water as he waited for an answer.

Kyo entered the squad bar silent and alone, his head down as he moved to the corner and sat down at a table. he sighed before lighting a cigarette and leaning back in his seat and closing his eyes. He let his thoughts wander, going over the past few days objectively, analyzing everything that had happened and been said. He was trying to figure out where he would go from here. He had attained his shikai, tested its powers against a much stronger foe and had been defeated. The question now was where did he go from here? how should he proceed? he growled lowly in frustration at himself as he took his time smoking his cigarette.
