Feeling: R e a d y F o r A F i g h t
"Truth is simply a conception..."

Hideki heard Elisia's comeback to his little comment as he pocked her forehead. It was childish in nature, but was lovely try. Hideki pushed his hands out to the ground, not bend, but simply pushing them while rolling his shoulder, stretching the shoulder muscle before he bend at the waist, backwards, to look at Elisia. "What if you do? Until I tell you what I want you to get from it all, neither of us will know." Hideki's hair made a small mess of black and streaks of white under his head and swayed with every movement of his head. He chuckled a little after speaking to Elisia which was cut short with a dull 'Uh- as she was tackled by another woman. Hideki himself had never seen her in his time, so she was new. The moment he heard 'nee-chan' Hideki knew it was Elisia younger sister. Her name still a mystery. He brushed off that area with ease, not going to but in with them, and lifted up to stand straight.

As Hideki came up Yuki was now in his vision, along with Tsukiko. They were discussing something, something he could vaguely hear, as, though he had mechanical ears for such things, he limited their range so as not to intrude on them. It would be rude if they began talking about something that may not pertain to the mission. Soon enough, though, Yuki stood and called everyone to attention. Hideki took everything in with a solemn and dull look upon his face. He, himself, knew the consequences of this mission, in all its glory. Their turf. Their rules, if their realm has any. And we have no back-up information other than Aurelius, and he has not exactly told us anything to jump up and party over. I suppose it really can not be helped, though. What will happen will happen. Hideki wrapped his mind around the small hindrances of the mission as she spoke and turned his head to Kato when he spoke out. He is certainly upbeat about dieing. Can not blame him though. To rest for a long while.... Hideki's thoughts ran amok but he soon caught himself and caught a glimpse of something moving around. An Exaequare.

Hideki was all but ecstatic about his appearance. Must they pop in and out of their own free will, he may never know, but their timing is just terrible. Hideki saw Tsukiko act with an almost future-sight that surprised him, though he should have really imagined that Hei would install such technology into his daughter, and if she did it, then he should have expected it. She seemed to know where he was going before he even knew where he, himself, was going want to land. She was a brilliant child, being an gynoid was only a bonus for her health. However, once Tsukiko spoke of the new orders, Hideki simply looked over to Aurelius, as he was right next to him at the moment, and kicked him in his side. "Get up now. All grown up and still like a child." Hideki gave Aurelius a grim look, if he saw it was all him, but Hideki did it nonetheless. It wasn’t a look of evil, simply a smug grim as Hideki was simply half-annoyed with him still being on the ground.

xxxxxxx CORNIX the EXAEQUARE
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

The ground and the area around it, succumbed to the newly arrived, Exaequere. Unlike Vesper, Cornix was not as fast as his counter-part; but his shot did not linger to far behind his friend. Cornix, the well equipped Exaequere, stood at the forest's edge of Sōkyoku Hill. His clothing helped him blend in with the surroundings. His ability, Oculus, he was able to use his eyes as binoculars and zoom into the finest hair follicle on top of a person's head. The hooded Exaequere, left no trace of facial visibility, besides his eyes and partially his nose. His eyes rang forth that he was a killer, and would not think twice about annihilating the opposition. His other clothing appeared like he was from the folk tale, Robin Hood.

With his bow in his left hand, and his right reaching for an arrow, Cornix was able to fixate a target from his distances. The Lieutenant of the Ninth Division, Tadashi Sakamoto. He seemed defenseless enough, and tangle enough to hit with an arrow or eighty. His cold-hearted attitude would allow him to hold nothing back as he struck the tip of the arrow into the entwined bow string and pulled back; at the same time, erecting the bow in a degree suitable to aim at his target. The bow softly creak from the force of the pull, the Exaequere had no trouble with this bout. Without looking up, the eyes of Cornix had fixated fully on the Fukutaicho as his eyes had zoomed out. The arrow was released, causing the bow to send the arrow into the air freely, but not out of control of Cornix. With his technique, Grex he was able to have the arrow multiply as soon as the arrow was released from its counter-part, the string. Two arrows soon turned into four which turned eight, their numbers soon reached the hundreds; as they reached their climax in their inbound flight toward the Lieutenant. The arrows traveled like ninja's of old; barely awakening a sound in the ears of the unknowing. The arrows would strike the Lieutenant and basically turn him into a reversed porcupine. No facial expressions changed over him as he reached for another arrow and set it in place to eradicate the next target. Vesper would know not to get caught in his cross fire, so he'd not be foolish enough to worry about something so mundane.

Cornix used his Trajecto ability to induce Reishi into the tip of his next arrow that was set on the bow. This arrow was also going to be controlled by Pinniger, a power that would allow Cornix to direct the arrow how ever he wanted it to go. He had added enough layers to arrow to pierce through a Captain's Reiatsu and toughened skin; even enough to pierce through the bone. So if that damage could be induced to a Captain then a Lieutenant should fear for their life. He set his mark on the next target he had in mind... Daisuke Ichirou; Cornix's mind set was to weed out the weaklings first, so they could dispatch of the Captain alone. "Hopefully that emo, Vesper, will understand my shots and play along with my tune." He thought as he released his second attack aimed straight for Daisuke's top cranium; intended to shot right through him, to the ground, between his feet.

Aurelius - Infinitus

Ignoring the gaggle of idiots that surrounded him and the speech by Yuki that he had already heard her practicing in her head, Aurelius rose to his feet, touched his nose with his finger and reset the bone, then forced his blood to clot, then manipulated his cells to completely heal the injury. Vesper's appearance was obvious, he had known it was going to happen for weeks now, so he was hardly surprised, not even when he started talking to him. To annoy the man, he repeated everything Vesper said to him, but a second before he said it himself, doing so with a bored expression. "What, Aurelius? Have you started to team up with the Shinigami? Were we not good enough for you? Blah blah blah blah. Aurelius, our leader’s not going to be happy at all if he hears of this betrayal…" After this, he ignored the man as well as Cornix, whom he cared little for and looked at Tsukiko, nodding to her response. Closing his eyes, the young man lifted his hands to chest level, then spread them far apart, all the while an ethereal force began to ruffle his clothing.

Snapping the fingers of both his hands, he forced a very large magical circle to appear on the ground, one that stretched far past the meadow. It glowed brightly, vibrantly with greens, blues, whites and yellows. Tiny symbols materialized themselves on those he was told to send away, and with a clap of his hands, his eyes shot open as Yuki, Nu, Akiri, Elisia, Lee, Tetsunosuke, Kato, Tsukiko, Hideki and Dolor along with his cage, all shimmered like a mirage and vanished as the last second passed, taking their spiritual signatures with them to Modus Exaequaris, or more specifically, to Antīqua Ruīna Exaequaris where they would appear in the same manner they had left. Dropping his arms, he looked towards the remaining figures, shook his head, and executed a rapid Shunpo to the Sōkyoku's scaffold where he resumed the position he had been in earlier, and fell fast asleep.

Forced Exit for Yuki, Nu, Akiri, Elisia, Lee, Tetsunosuke, Kato, Tsukiko, Hideki and Dolor.

xx VESPER of the EXAEQUARE
- - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Vesper was surprised to see that his movements had been tracked. Damn his carelessness. He was thrown several hundred yards back, but before he hit anything, he sent out a pulse of sonar and teleported again while he was flying in the air. Appearing a short distance away from Tsukiko again, he winced slightly. Ouch. That girl Shinigami, who was most likely a Captain from the way that she seemed to order the others around, had some punch. Moving to a kneeling position, he bowed his head down low suddenly, his face unable to be read for the moment. “I must apologise, miss, for getting my facts wrong,” his face twisted in pain and remorse, “I’m not exactly very good at all this information collecting, I must say. Maybe it would be better if I simply vanished or was never born.” There were several tears that were falling out of his eyes at the moment as he lifted his head, looking at Tsukiko. While he wouldn’t be battling with the Captains, it seemed, at least, he would only have to deal with Lieutenants and Third Seats. Oh, what a pity. Having to kill people was not something he enjoyed, especially due to the fact that life should be treasured. Ah well, he had to do it anyway.

He had been about to apologise again to the Shinigami but he was interrupted by the fact that the girl had vanished alongside the other Captains. Ah well. It was then that he finally registered appearance of his friend and partner for the meantime. Immediately, the entire depressed aura around him perked up a little and he let out a relieved sigh. A semi-smile appeared on his face as he called out, “Cornix, glad to see you, my friend.” Vesper was never the one who liked to start things and since it seemed like he had an opening now. Slowly clambering to his feet, he moved quickly again, using his pulse of sonar to get him around. The targets this time, seemed to be two Lieutenants, so he’d better back Cornix up as soon as possible. He appeared next to Cornix, a sad look upon his face. Ah well, at least, he didn’t have to hurt girls for now. Taking in several deep breaths of air, he used sonito several times, creating a sharp wave of sound each time. His first wave was aimed at Hibiki and Tadashi, while his second was aimed at Daisuke. It was not very powerful at the moment, so it wouldn’t shatter anything, merely disorient the mind and body. “Took your time coming,” he said moodily to Cornix, his good mood vanished suddenly at the thought of fighting.

____Daisuke Ichirou____
__Third Div Lieutenant__
-------------------------------/
"I hope you see the sun.. Someday in your darkness."

Lights Out - M.S.I.

Daisuke seemed to be less than prepared for the attack sent at him by the Exaequare. His eyes seemed to flash to the wisp of the arrow. He brought up a hand, "Bakudō number 39: Enkosen." A shield appears in font of him and the arrows smash against it. As he did so, the sheath to his cane fell, and his zanpakutō was not shown. Daisuke lifted his hand to his mouth and patted away a yawn, but no means trying to be rude or jest at the Exaequare.

Daisuke put his foot under the sheath and bounced it up, wrapping his free-sleeve around it. He smirks, "Tch, you try and weed out the weak.. You'll see that not all those Lieutenants and Third Seats are weaklings. Ranks means nothing, it just means how far you've gotten. It means you have shown your Bankai to the Captain-Commander, that you have killed the previous Captain in front of 200 witnesses." He places Schatten back in to its sheath and unrolls his sleeve. As the bottom of the cane hits the ground, he grabs the knob to secure it's handled.

Daisuke looks to Nu, "Sorry, lov'. You won't see how good I can be 'til we can be somewhere private." He gives her a wink and turns back in the direction of the Exaequare that shot at him with the arrow, "You like projectiles, I guess? You either carry an Oak, an Achey, or a Yew bow -- as those are the standard trees. Your arrows travel no further, nor faster, than normal ones are allowed, hm? Yet you can divide them and multiply them, hm?" The Exaequare probably wouldn't hear him, but Daisuke seemed to be more thinking aloud.

Tadashi had found that, ever since he had first unsealed his zanpakuto, his skills were best suited to speed and surprise tactics. He'd also found he'd grown a natural instinct to counter with Kido since Tenma was too heavy in the day to swing around easily. His senses high, his entire body ready to react at the slightest indication of hostility, he uneasily kept his eyes pressed forward at the first newcomer before it occured to him to make sure there was no others preparing an assault. Just as this thought passed through his mind, he suddenly sensed a small presence as the first arrow was launched.

There was no time to whirl around and assess the situation. All he could do was cast an incantationless Enkosen behind him and call out to his Captain to warn him.

"Captain...!" he breathed before flash-stepping to the first place that came to mind; the tip of Sokyoku Hill. Tadashi then tried to look for the source of the shots, preparing his Kage Ketsugo for if the opponent was near. He knew he could do nothing to help his Captain other than act as a human shield, so he hoped to pinpoint the rapidly firing attacker before he found his next target...which, sadly, he didn't. Tadashi observed how the arrows multiplied as they streaked towards Daisuke. Just as Tadashi spotted the attacker's perch, the enemy who appeared first joined him and added an attack of his own, right where he had been standing moments earlier. There was nothing he could do to help his Captain, but he could drive the attackers off for a few moments...

Hibiki Kirisho
- Squad Nine Captain -

The demons flocked

When the lesser Exaequere, Vesper, made his presence known, Hibiki’s hand was already placed on top of Kazeoni’s hilt. The way he acted made it difficult for Hibiki to assess his power level, whether it was higher or lower than Dolor or Aurelius’. He seemed to be able to use some form of teleportation, since Hibiki could not follow his motion from one place to another, which he normally could if it were Shunpo or Sonido. However, it seemed that Tsukiko could easily follow him, and not only that, but predict his movements and landed a powerful knee to his face, which would send him flying more than a mere few yards away. Listening to Tsukiko’s orders, Hibiki nodded as he was told to remain here as a defensive measure, truth be told, he was somewhat eager to get to see just what the lair of the Exaequere looked like, but his duty was to protect Soul Society, and he wasn’t about to disobey it ”Understood. Don’t worry; Soul Society will be kept safe while you guys take care of business, good luck.” he spoke as he drew his zanpakuto.

After a short while, it seemed Vesper wasn’t the only one charged with the assault upon Seiretei, unless the Exaequere could fire arrows from a location where he wasn’t there. This somewhat relieved Hibiki, as the fact that they were sent as pairs meant that they weren’t nearly as powerful as Aurelius or Dolor, not alone at least. Allowing the targets themselves to deal with Cornix’s shots, Hibiki focused his attention towards Vesper; his teleportation ability would make him quite an opponent to deal with. His Sonito attack was invisible, but his actions allowed Hibiki to determine if he fired at him or not. Not wasting a single second, Hibiki placed his zanpakuto in front of him and went into Shikai ”Cut, Kazeoni!” whatever Vesper had fired at him, Hibiki assumed the sudden burst of wind from his release would deflect the projectile. It would have been effective, had it not been used too early, which Hibiki would soon know as the Sonito impacted itself upon Kazeoni, causing it to shake vigorously, as if the wave aimed to shatter it.

Cursing under his breath, Hibiki held the blade tightly with his free arm and slowly stopped it from shaking. As far as he knew, there were two Exaequere’s in the area, but he wasn’t sure if the two could call for back-up or not ”Tadashi!” he yelled towards his Lieutenant as he prepared for a fight. Looking around he started barking out orders, just like he would in his own Squad office, ”Tadashi, you back me up on Vesper. The others, you go for his friend who’s hiding in the woods. Be careful, I doubt he’d stay in a single spot though.” he was aware that the pair were equally powerful, but since Vesper’s partner seemed to prefer sniper tactics, the only reasonable tactic-- in Hibiki’s mind-- was to overwhelm him with a multidirectional assault, which would only be accomplished if the attacking force was substantial enough, thus the odd-- but in his mind, effective-- battle pairing. ”Now, let’s go!” he shouted as he began to assault, throwing Kazeoni towards Vesper while he hid his free hand behind him to cast a Kido spell once the Exaequere dodged his attack.

The winds were unleashed

xx VESPER of the EXAEQUARE
- - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Vesper mournfully looked at Hibiki and Tadashi, his attention focused solely on them. However, he was so concentrated on making sure his attack had worked on the Captain, that he did not realize the fact that Tadashi had released a Kido, until he actually called out the incantation. Damn. He sent out another pulse of sonar, attempting to teleport out to a further place. Unfortunately, his movements were not quick enough and he suffered a slight burn on his right arm, not to mention singed clothes. Teleporting back to the spot he had been at before the attack, he looked at his wound as he pulled a devastated look. “On these days,” he said sadly to no-one in particular, “One wishes that he had the same regenerating ability like Dolor had.” Remembering Dolor, he looked around the area for their comrade, but could not find him. Maybe he had left with the other Shinigami. Ah well, they couldn’t do anything to help Dolor anyway, since they had been strictly instructed to simply distract the other Shinigami. It would have been a lot easier, to say the very least, if all of the intended forces had gone, but most likely, they wouldn’t do something like that since Vesper himself had appeared. Why, oh, why hadn’t he just merely lingered back with Cornix instead of rushing ahead with his ‘teleportation’ ability?

He nearly forgot himself right there, as tears started to drip from his eyes as he lamented, “Oh, foolish self!” However, remembering the fact that his enemies were right in front of him, he wiped dry his eyes, looking at them with deep eyes. It seemed like his Sonito had worked, despite it being weaker than usual, but he couldn’t rely on that too much. With three offensive abilities and one that increased his agility, he’d have to keep on switching between them and surprising the others or else they’d guess his attacks soon enough. His eyes narrowed slightly as the Captain talked about battling him with Tadashi. Oh, wow. Apparently, he deserved the honour of battling a Captain. As Hibiki threw Kazeoni at him, Vesper rolled his eyes slightly. That was way too easy. He had been expecting more of a Captain, the elite of the Gotei 13. Teleporting quickly, he appeared several feet away from where he had been, in a completely different direction to Kazeoni. His voice was lilting and questioning, “And what happens if my friend and I decide that we don’t want to do it this way? Well, I guess it’ll be more fun to Cornix, but we’ll see, uh-huh?”
