Welcome you scurvy knaves, to the deck of the Cuore Scuro the most accursed ship sailing the seven seas! The Cuore Scuro is captained by Captain Isaac Teneck, and crewed by the most hideous and heartless, and of course accursed crew that the world has ever seen! Crossing paths with the Cuore Scuro is a guaranteed fate worse than death! History of the Curse of the Cuore Scuro
Many years ago, the Captain Teneck sailed his ship to an island. He planned to pillage any villages on the island and to let his crew do as they wish to the villagers. Little did he know that the only tribe on this island was a tribe of Shamans.
Teneck ordered his men to attack the village, and steal any women and valuables. The Shaman of the island however were skilled in curses. The highest ranking Shaman from the village confronted him, Teneck did all he could with his cutlass, but to no avail. Somehow the Shaman was able to parry his blade with only a finger.
Teneck grew tired, and the Shaman knew it was time to strike. The Shaman screamed to Teneck, "You have destroyed our lands, and now the lands shall destroy you!" The shaman threw a strange powder at the captain.
"You and any one who follows your orders will feel the wrath of our island's animals!" The Shaman then collapsed and died, out of the Shaman's eyes came two snakes, they bit into Teneck's chin and the curse truly began.
Teneck's beard turned from dark black hair into green venomous snakes! The snakes writhed and bit him whenever they could. The bites turned his blood into venom, and his mind became warped and twisted.
The same kinds of things happened to his crew. The nearest animal had attacked each man and woman under Teneck's command. The pirates scrambled back to their ship, panicking as the changes were happening. The ship sails the seas every day, attacking any ships that get too close.
The curse however ebbs away when the accursed crew can get away from Teneck. However he will not allow his cursed crew to escape, he will search the seas for the escaped crewmen. Just to make them suffer through the curse as he does every day of his life.

Isaac walks from his quarters, looking out to the sky. A murky fog had rolled in around his ship and it was going to be hard to navigate through. He could only hope that his Rigging Rats, Navigator, and the Look-outs would be able to guide them safely through the fog. He walked over to the Navigator who was looking at a chart and grumbling about the fog that rolled in.
"So, what's your plan Navigator?" he said, forgetting the name of the Navigator, "I sure hope you have one, if you cherish that position of yours!" he smirked, then left the Navigator to do his job in peace, not caring that he had asked what the Navigator's plans were in the first place. Isaac looked up at the riggings and smiled, to him is seemed that everything was alright, other than the fog, this was a very great day. Great days were a rarity, and Isaac was going to make the best of it until something would probably go wrong.

Half way up the rigging, envying the current lookout his easier resting place in the crow's next, Will squinted into the fog. This did not bode well. If there was one thing the Cuore Scuro didn't need, it was to be ambushed. Giving any adversary time and space to master their fear before they approached the ship was as good as giving away their best advantage. His fur bristled against a sudden sharp chill, and he fought the urge to wrap his tail around his body for warmth. No looking like a pansy, he told himself, not with the Captain on deck - no matter how sparse the current detail of pirates on duty might be, he was not going to show himself up in front of Teneck.
"Pea soup, Cap'n," he called down. "Pea bloody soup. Couldn't 'ardly see me 'and in front'a me face down on deck, and it ain't much better up 'ere... Come down so fast, din't it?"

((Hope it's ok to pop in since things are getting underway...))
He poked his head out from below with a snort, stepping out onto the deck a moment later smelling a little like the gunpowder he tended to be near, swatting at a stray dreadlock in absent and lethargic irritation. He didn't much care for this fog, not a bit, but if Captain Teneck didn't want to drop anchor, Captain Teneck wasn't going to drop anchor 'less the devil himself hoped out of the Briney deep and said. "Cap'n Teneck, ya might want do drop anchor, old freind." And even then....he might not drop anchor. He might just feed the Devil himself to the sharks. If the sharks'd have him. He hated Pea-Soup fog. Actually he hated pea-soup too but at least pea-soup you could eat in a pinch. You couldn't eat fog, though the gaping maw across his slightly round belly gaped in a toothy, gurgling yawn and snapped shut again at this thought, as though it could test the theory by snapping it's teeth at the thick blanket of mist. "Cap'n." He nodded in respect to the smiling man. The fact that he was smiling was good....and probably a damn good idea to keep him smiling as much as possible. Part of the reason he stayed near the hold, the better to sprint back down and get the cannons ready to fire should they actually spot another ship in this thrise cursed mess.

Isaac looked around the riggings and spotted the faint form that was talking to him. One of the snakes in his beard bit into his neck, he winced from the bite but tried to not look like it was painful. He called to the Rigging Rat that was talking to him, "Yes, it did roll in rather fast," he then said under his breath, "too fast actually..." He looked back up to William's faint form, "I am certain if we continue for a while, the fog will lighten," he wasn't certain though of how long that while would be.
He turned to Valentine and watched his other mouth try and take a bite out of the fog. He laughed for a moment before returning the nod and speaking up, "Crane," he said, "It might be wise if you head down to the hold, an enemy may appear in this fog and we'll need the gunners ready to start a long ranged attack," he said softly trying to not scare any of the crew, if there was one thing he didn't need right now, it was a panicing crew.

Weasel stirred at the back of Will's mind. He consulted its senses. Captain Teneck was troubled - it barely showed, but the fog was unsettling him too. He was a sensible man at heart, was the Captain. Calling upon Weasel's eyes, Will peered once more into the roiling mists. He could see a little further now: the fog, as it shifted, gave tantalising glimpses of what was ahead before closing in once more. Nothing. Nothing out of the ordinary. Yet.
Will sighed. "I hope ye're right, Cap'n," he said with feeling. "Not bein' able t' see is puttin' me on edge."

"Rightaway sir." He growled, nodding at the Captains command, though he gives one last look around at the thick fog before stepping back below. He can't smell anything unusual, nor hear anything like the creak and groan of another ship, but everything's so damn thick it feels as though someone has wrapped cotten around his head, so he doesn't fully trust his own scenes, any of them. The darkness of the hold was almost a releif, at least you felt a little more like you could trust yourself in the dark. Vision wasn't what his curse relyed on anyway, which perhaps made him more comfortable here in gunners hold, making his rounds. Every one of the cannons had their own name, at least by his count. They were his 'ladies', and he was proud of them. Bit more of a 'harem' than ladies really, since there were so many...but that was how he thought of them never the less. Waiting for some sound from above to prepare, he walked the hold with an occasional growl of accnowledgement to other crew, double checking the 'ladies' again. It would almost make things more interesting if they did get attacked, although it would be hard to hit them from the fog. Still, let'em listen to a good chorus from the Ladies. It would just make his day. Or a good hearty meal, that wouldn't hurt either. Or both.....mmmmmm.

Bracing himself against the chill, the weasel pirate climbed further up the rigging. It was a little clearer up here. Hah, he thought to himself, the lookout must practically be able to see off the ship.
He settled against the net-like structure, wrapping his tail around a nearby section of rope and gripping with both hands, and sighed quietly. This was the one thing he didn't like about being aboard ship: the waiting. There was so much waiting. Could reality see its way clear, he wondered, to either giving him something to do or dropping him back to shore? Much appreciated, thanks; he missed land.
More to the point, he missed her.
Weasel was drifting off to sleep. Still, despite Will's earlier feelings of unease, the fog held nothing but damp. As he tried to perch more comfortably, one of his boots slipped on the damp rope. He swore mildly under his breath and shoved it firmly back into a secure position. Bloody fog. Couldn't even have a pleasant daydream about the girl he'd left behind him at this rate. ...Heheh, the girl whose man he'd had killed before leaving her behind. Let it never be said that Will Welkin was a traditional suitor.
Strange, he realised as he went over the memories Weasel had not yet chewed, how she'd seemed more horrified by witnessing a death in general than, later, by the fact that her husband was gone. He hadn't managed to get much out of her on the subject of the late Mister R. J. Welkin, but if his own early experiences were anything to go by it was likely he hadn't endeared himself to her much. Poor lass. He wondered how much choice she'd had in the matter. Certainly she hadn't held any great fondness for Rob while he'd been around to witness it: his elder brother's ham-handed attempts at courtship had been painful even to him, and he'd had no experience with women at all. He liked to think that in the end, despite the violence and the blood and everything that went with it, he'd done her a favour.
The image of a young lady, her blue dress torn, her chestnut curls tangled around his fingers, her moss-green eyes shining with a mixture of fear and wonder, drifted into his mind, and a slow smile spread across his lips.

Jasper hissed at the fog as he mopped, finding it to be quite the annoyance. It seemed, to him at least, that it made his mopping seem much more difficult. He didn't mind his duties though, even if they were dull, and he certainly didnt' envy the rigging rats thier duties at times like these.
He continued mopping, and began to hum, in the hopes that it would distract him from the chill of the fog. Jasper didn't like being cold, or at least the iguana part of him didn't, and it made him feel even more lethargic than usual. He hoped that it would clear soon, as anything could happen in this thick of a fog.

The hiss alerted Weasel to Jasper's presence while Will was still daydreaming. A gentle bat of the mustelid's inner paw roused him from his reverie, and he looked down to see the deckhand mopping his way past. Poor b*****d, out here in this cold with his lizard blood running chill as it was. He could afford a little charity.
Half-climbing half-sliding down the rigging, Will stopped a few feet from the bottom and wrapped his warm, fluffy tail around the iguana pirate's shoulders. It was still mostly dry. "Tha' any better, messmate?" he offered quietly. "Must be murder for ye, days like t'day."

He paused in his mopping as he felt a fluffy tail being wrapped around his shoulders. "Ja, it is. Danke, mate," Jasper replied, looking up at the rigging rat."This type of weather is murder." He grinned up at the rigging rat. "You have a very warm tail."
He had warmed up some, thanks to his crewmate, and knew he had better get back to work. "Well," he said, "it's back to work for me. Danke." He began to mop again, his energy renewed for a few minutes at least.
