Personality: He can tend to be very picky and hates when others are hovering over his shoulders. He hates when others are in the kitchen with him when he's trying to fix a meal for the crew and will threaten to cut off fingers if they keep it up. He's very sweet and understanding when he wants to be, but when his mind is set on somehing he can be pretty stuborn at sometimes.
History:

As for the history on his ears, it's said there was only a handful of his kind, and merfolk feared them for their skills and brought each and everyone of his kind down, by either drowning them or useing their own spears on him. As a child his mother hid his ears under clothing just before the attack and he lost his left arm in that battle, his mother dead upon him. So the merfolk thought they completed their attack and killed them all.

Wounded and near death he was found by a a small merchant ship passing though so they took him in as a slave and tended to his arm. Teaching him everything they knew until he was old enough to go out in the world.

He stumbled across some pirates which were a bit of a challange for him, eventually he decided to become a pirate himself.
