Dank Caverns A complex series of caverns run through the northern mountains in the vale. An endless stretch of natural cave twists and turns and connect all sorts of strange places. Some stretches are lit by torches thanks to earlier exploration groups, but many stretches go unlit. A good few caves are flooded, and this seems to make the whole complex system uncomfortably damp. 1 bear, 4 tigers, and 7 archers are guarding the mouth of the caves that leads out to the Northern ClimbJak The lurching of the caves ahead did little make him assured that nothing bad was going to happen. Stopping at the mouth of the caves, he turned around and looked at the group once more. Pointing to a bear, two tigers and five archers to stay behind. Jak Running behind the group as fast as he could, Shade was practically yelling at the group that remained. Once the light could be seen, he stopped for a moment. Not trusting that the pair wouldn't somehow make it through here. Placing two more tigers and two more archers at the mouth of the cave to protect it with their lives, as they ran back to the village and try to link up with anyone.

Pulling himself up one last time, he dragged his stylishly dressed, yet sadly hampering body up onto the final platform.
It wasn't that he was exhausted... just that it had been such a long time since he had to climb any--- ok so maybe he was exhausted.
"I really need to pump iron or something... apparently smashing in faces does nothing for the glutes."
Grunting, he got onto both feet and stared ahead.
"Joy. A cave. With bats. And stuff."
Palming his face, he raised his right wrist and shook it several times, trying to get the compass to make heads or tails of his direction.
It did nothing but spin lazily in circles.
Magnetic interference apparently, from lode stones or perhaps equipment unseen.
"... Friggin' batcave..."
Pushing forward, he swept his coat to the side, stalking in, even as yellowed eyes narrowed.

Quiently moving through the caverns, he was reminded of the ruins near Strata... or the interior of Babel... or... well ok, he'd seen plenty of dank places.
But these sure were oddly... silent.
From surreal stalagite formations, glistening pools of unseen liquid, and plain ol' darkness-- his surrounding shifted and changed. Several times, he found himself crouching down and having to crawl or squeeze through more narrow places.
He was doing his best to listen for the sound of rushing water, and head in the direction... there wasn't exactly a painted arrow or map of the area he could readily acess.
It was a bloody cave.
His greaves steamed along as he moved through water, one time having to actually grab and stop some type of snake from biting at his face.
He'd never actually drawn his blade as of yet, nor had he used anything else... but for the severaly darkened areas, he spared a bit of black flame in order to see enough to move on.
"Ungh... crab battle."
Shaking his head, he sighed and sat down a bit, resting his forehead against a cavern wall.
Are you... really alive? What the hell is this feeling? Why am I feeling... like your right next to me again...
He shook himself out of the slight stupor, moving on again, until he came to yet another flooded passage. He could feel the currents, and the way it was rushing told him it was exiting to somewhere... and fast.
Taking a depe breath, he dived on down, and went into the narrowed passge, working his way through with hands alone.
Eventually the current picked up and he found hismelf picking up speed. Air bubbles escaped as he went riding through a small tunnel system, cursing caves and their existance once more.

A world of darkness, no light saved that above his head of where he dropped through. Checking himself for a moment he found his flasked and patted himself down. He found himself pretty dry and was happy, his flint locks hadn't gotten water logged. But his throat was parch, pulling the stopper out with his teet he took a swig of the vodka before replacing the cap.
"Well time to do what you do best. ******** things up and hope for the best."
Taking his sword out he channeled a small amount of magic into it. This would cause a series of runes to light up. Not giving much illumination but more so then darkness that he would have other wise.

Moving deeper, at least he thought it was deeper, into the caves Quin moved. Space was at a premium and half the time he had to resort to crawling along not sure if he would be able to back track. Ever once and a while he had to channel more energy into his sword.
But downwards, deeper into the cave complex he moved, moved onto the Lightless Caves.

And back he was, winding his way through the network of caves. Just which way had he come in by? With so little light about it was easy to get turned around and lost so the only thing he could hope for was that he was on the right path as he forged his way onwards.

Bloody hell, did he only escape the dam to drown in a cave? Falling into water Quin gasped for air before his head plunged under. Clenching his eyes closed he used his hands to feel where he was going. When he came to pockets of air he would surface and resubmerge to keep on going.
What a hell he put himself through.

Coming up out of the water they set up a relay station for the radio network. The demolition guys went to work; drilling holes in the caves they began to insert their charges.
The plan was rather simple, fill in portion of the caves so that people couldn't enter, but then there was little in the room of safety precautions so they had to rely on them as a way to catch people coming in.
The rest of the troops Quin ordered to split. There were only four since two were to stay at the radio. Two would go to the northern climb while the two others would take the lightless caves.
The dank caverns were in the hands of the miners and they had set up traps, to go off should someone enter through the ravine and a few extras for a last stand type deal that they could manually detonate.

Each of the gropes set up with spools of cord, no matter what the radios couldn't be lost. They were just as valueable, if not more so, then the guns they carried.
The demolition guys were done for the most part and split up. One going with each group while the third stayed here and the fourth was going back to the mine.
Quin had a change of mind and was going to accompany those at the Northern Climb, he needed to pay the Settlers a visit. Radioing in to those in the woods that there was a change of plans he would try to get them re-inforcements.

"Achoo" Sam sneezed right before she got to the cavern. The place was damp. Big surprise after yesterday. rolleyes But she didn't let that detour her. Only than making a mental note to trash all these clothes when she got home, they were effectively ruined. Down, down she goes.

First her feet, then her sinus. Great...she was having a lovely day. Well, with the guards being about, she figured she might as well have her gun at the ready and so pulled it out, this time opting for a nice little hand gun of a the seriously damaging type.

She wouldn't say she was happy, she wasn't. Her nose was clogged, as was her boots were bogged. Definetly have to replace them later. [ Exeunt----->Lightless Caves]

A singe hand groped the side of the cavern, mold surged everywhere coating all the walls, as Mozz barely bobbed his head out of the water. As his eyes adjusted, grey fur seemed everywhere. Caves were Mozz’s friend, and he was in one now he waited for Aiolos before continuing.

Aiolos' splashing could be heard behind Mozz, it's been a while since he swam. Everything on him was soaked, including the top hat that he held onto while swimming.
"A little farther." He whispered.
