Northern Climb The northern mountains are suprisingly gentile, for mountains that is. The climb is still tough, but the trails are well worn and there are no sheer rock walls. Many villagers beleive the scenic climb is worth it for the view and the picnic spots. Though you're probably more interested in the caves that dot the higher reaches of the range, aren't you? There are three tigers and six archers here, but you might be able to sneak by them. If you get lucky.Jak His band followed close in step with Shade, as the pair moved ahead of him. No matter, stopping for a moment Shade instructed two tigers and three archers to stay behind and secure the area. Jak Heading down the trails once more Shade found the group of archers and tigers he had first left, and dropped off the last of the archers and tigers here. Still bringing the bear with him though, as it was a much better unit to have with them as shown from last night.

The helmet rolled along the ground, only stopping when it met the body of the bike.
Talk about trying to get to the mountains, he had nearly bloody well crashed into them.
He lost track of all time (he wasn't exactly carrying a watch) but he figure maybe an hour or two had already passed.
Slinging what was left of his pack onto one shoulder, he left the bike at the base of the mountains, positive that no one would stumble upon it all the way here, before actually starting to navigate his way up.
"Well worn trails".
Right.

His muscles bulged slightly as he lifted himself up onto the next platform.
Although there were indeed trails--- it seemed rock slides were a common ocurrence in these parts.
So much so, that many of the trails were actually hampered or nonexistant. Or maybe they had been caused intentionaly.
Whatever the case may be, our little adventurer was busying himself with half climbing, half-jogging up staggering trails.
"Goddamned... I know I have to look badass... but I wouldn't mind wearing some frufru shorts and a tanktop about now.." He groaned aloud as he felt his coat tail snag on yet another jagged rock.
He continually scaled his way up the Northern Climb, pausing occasionaly to get his bearings and reassure himself that he was headed in the right way.
At the same time, the distant nagging in his head continued to ring louder.... something..familiar...

Two soldiers and a demolitions expert came out onto the entrance of the Norther climb. Setting up another radio they radioed in that they had taken the Northern Climb.
With that done they began the work of setting up a series of traps similar to the ones earlier deployed. There would be no use allerting people to their positions by blasting prematurely, but laying down the explosives and having them ready to go off was a good thing.
When they were done they took up positions as the entrance of the caves.
Quin had watched this, but his attention was on the area down bellow.

Ready with everything Quin set off down the hill. It was easy going and was pretty much like the pass he had used to get into the vale in the first place. But he could have been wrong, most of terrain looked the same on this side.
Giving a smile to the men he would do some scouting for them. He still had a few sets of demolitions himself and seemed to hobble with surprsing vigor.

Fun, fun...At least that's what she told herself as she climbed. Biking boots were not made for walking. Her feet were going to be screaming at her. She could normally take this 'mountain' no problem...but she was a wee bit battered from yesterday still.

"She one of ours?"
"Looks like it."
One of the men would go out to where Sam could see him.
"Hey, we've been listening to the radio. Is it true they found something in them caves?"

What would be there, what would she find? A cozy picnic spot. A dank, smelling dragon. (If there is, someone shoot me now), or just a bunch of musty, moldy old rocks. Who knew. But it was onward and upward.
She looked over at the soldiers with a dull, blank expression on her face. "Huh?" They were theirs, but she hadn't expected to actually find anything.
"Not sure...about to find out, I guess."

Nodding his head for a moment he took up his previous position. They three had an important task. They had to guard this area. Jerking a thumb though to a length of wire he tilted his head.
"Just follow the cord, you'll see some friends of ours. Some loon dragged us up here early this morning and had us set up a radio network."
Pausing for a moment he remebered the explosives.
"And be careful, we rigged a lot of places to detonate so don't leave the wire."

"Joy..." But she nodded, and headed over to the wire, wondering which loon it was. The sword dragging, Cloud wanna be, the naked pretty boy or any of the other odd assortment of people these things seemed to attract. So she followed the cord, headed straight into.... [ Exuent--->]

And she was back out again, and headed over to the nice NPCs there. "Any of you have a benedryle pack?" She got one real quick, and though it wouldn't do her much good, she headed back. Once more.

Shade climbed the path that was to be had, being careful to take the out of the way it seemed paths with the archers in tow, meaning that they wouldn't cross the Miners.

In hushed tones and from nowhere it seemed as he was invisible to the naked eye, Shade instructed the five that had followed to him try and stay out of sight and mind. To wait for him and the others and guard their flank as they retreated, he alone went forward.

As they reached the northern climb, Nijemi's men instantly began scouting for their next move, only to find a cave entrance blocked. Time to get to work.

Her demolitions man, Kreely, placed charges along what appeared to be a wall of mold. It looked clearly different than the rest of the rock, and it was easy to see where an entrance ones was. The explosives, designed to block metal doors off their hinges, would easily handle... This stuff.
Nijemi's delicate nose wrinkled, and she switched the nightvision on her helmet. No telling how dark it would be down there. And that mold was disgusting. After being set, Kreely and the group took cover, and the charges were set off, causing mold debris to fly. Time to get down there.
