Preliminary Mines

The Skinner Mining Company is first and foremost, well, a mining company. Any good company would dig a few preliminary mines before rushing into an area. Thus in a relatively out of the way location you'll find a partially completed mine. Timbers supporting the shafts, the starts of tracks going down, and lanterns hanging from the ceiling.

Why is it partially completed? Well, near the back the diggers broken into a few natural caverns. Unfortunately, those caverns quickly flooded out parts of the mines thanks to the dam.

The mines are closed. Permanently.

Coming out into a cavern Quin was wishing for a dry set of clothes about now. If his sense of time was right night would be upon him soon and he didn't want to catch a cold.

Moving through the cavern he came to a man made structure and new he had stumbled upon a set of mines that had been abadnoned a while ago. He would need to get a team together to hold these areas. Set up demolitions and so forth.

He had to get back to the camp, that's what he needed to do. But his body was starting to lag and his cane was lost, well his sword would do.

Standing at the entrance to the mine he looked down upon a path; sighing he continued his trek.

Setting up a camp of sorts at the entrance Quin ordered two to set up guard as he and another were assembeling the radio they had brought. Blessing Tzeentch for the wonderful inventions of technology Quin picked up the hand unit and using the attena to boost his range called into HQ.

"This is Quin, I have taken the twilight woods. We currently have ten troops plus a driver and a dump truck protecting the area. They should have set up some traps for any hostiles so they should be all right for a while but any heavy fighting and they'll be gone.

So you might want to send them some re-inforcements.

We have also taken the Mountain Pass and are preparing to taking the mines and network of caves. I have some demolition experts with me to help with a little blasting, maybe we'll strike gold."

Picking up a spool of radio cables Quin looked at the others and motioned with a jerk of his head into the mine. When they got to the flooded area he checked to see that his equipment was sealed. It be no good if anything got wet now.

Sure of things he jumped in and made his way with the others behind him. It was a good thing they had taken the mines. It would be estential for their radio network.

From this point on it was time for Mozz to thank point, his moss growing thicker and more resistant around him, his spike more pointed and defined, he looked like a monster. He was on his toes now, grazing his left hand against the side of the mine shaft spreading his mold throughout the reassesses of the mine, securing loose rock, and preparing for attack.

"Okay, let's just keep going and pray that nothing meets us there." Aiolos took out his tin whistle and was prepared for anything in the way. Long as these mines had air, he could play through the tunnels and get his magic.

Just keep running, just keep running....

Mozz waded into the dark pool his moss toughly infesting this room, the walls were coated in the junk. He smirked and took the dive, swimming the distance to the dark caverns, he was almost there.

Ugh water. Well, his cloak was light thankfully. Aiolos put away his whistle and took a deep breath, going into the water.

Just keep swimming... Just keep swimming...

Zen ran through the preliminary mines, his blood had since re-entered his body and replenished his energy, while he ran he was also creating more blood inside his body just to be on the safe side.

[From: Mountain Pass]
Although the speeds may of been comparable between the bike and the ball-boy, when he started running it was no contest.

Well, perhaps it still was with Jacob's two skinner compatriots (who had quickly fallen into his dust), and the three men at the entrance (who simply started to shoot wildly at the man racing past, not taking up actual pursuit), but not to Jacob. He pulled the dirtbike around in a wild slide as soon as Zen came into view, perhaps thirty feet away, and sighted down the magnum.

Ten meters. It was on the far end of his precision range. And it was getting dark, the lanterns were few and far between at this point.

"Stop where you stand, or fall!"

He, still straddling the bike, popped off a single shot. It wasn't aimed at the mans torso-- it seemed he had more than enough blood-- but his legs. Muscle and bone. If he could slow this b*****d down, he'd of accomplished his goal.

As soon as the dirtbike's echo rang throught the cave Zen used his blood to pump the muscles in his leg's harder so that he'd run much faster. As a shot was fired Zen weaved, but his leg was still brushed with a hot bullet, luckily not piercing him though just grazing. Zen winced as he came unto the watery path to the Dank Caves, he dove in quickly and swam as fast as he could.

"Oh, you b*****d--"

Jacob, once again, hauled the engine off, pumping it's maximum energy out, reaching horrendous speed before--
driving straight into the water his foe had retreated into, entering only feet behind him. Jacob leapt from the bike at this point, knowing he'd be a slow swimmer, but using it to propel himself through the water. He shoved the mangum in his mouth, clenching it between his teeth, and made a horrendously huge lunge off the sinking bike, through the water towards the incredibly fast-swimming Zen.

It was his right hand, using the foot-and-a-half spike at the end of the buckler, jamming it up and down towards the man for what was quite possibly the last strike he'd get at him--
Right towards Zen's pumping calve muscle.

If he connected, he fully intended to stick the spike into the muscle, and anchor the two of them together.

From the shore, the two SMC guards stood, open-mouthed.
"That ******** crazy."

((before my post in the dank caves))

Zen was well aware that jacob wouldn't give up that easily, so to shroud himself from sight Zen emitted blood throughout the water so that he couldn't be seen from above, Zen kicked his legs endlessly hoping his scheme would hinder his opponent.

Jacob's hand came down hard, and fast, the spike digging through sprays of blood--
y Water.

Jacob went up for air, and started his slow swim. The other man would have a huge advantage in time...But Jacob bet that he and his friends wouldn't get away clean.

After all, this fellow would probably be leaving a dripping red trail.
