The south path, behind the door, was wider than the one to the north. It opened to an empty space, and even though the brass columns and the latticework cieling they held up were all run through thoroughly with a number of steamwork pipes, even those were strangely quiet. Whatever had once run throguh them, whatever mechanics had once made this place go, it seemed still and stopped for now. All over the room was evidence of decay; one pipe running across the ceiling had detached and hung with a broken, open end towards the floor, and bits and pieces of broken pipes and pieces of the ceiling lay scattered across the floor. On one wall was a small control panel, though the labels were worn with time and written in a strange, symbolic language that resembled no Earth alphabet. At the far end of the room was another closed door, that seemed to lead further down the path... Nothing seemed dangerous, at first glance..... Area Map This map is provided for reference; characters should not have access to it! Combat Mechanics Combat mechanics are straightforward, dice-based, and tied to stage. Each round will be treated as lasting one minute, so most magic attacks should only last for a single round!HPFirst Stage: 50 HP Second Stage: 75 HP Third Stage: 100 HP Fourth Stage: 125 HP Damage will be carried between battles! Physical Attacks:Physical damage includes hitting with fists or weapons, throwing objects, or otherwise attacking the creature without the use of magic. Cats in Cat Form should roll 1d6 for physical damage First Stage characters and Cats in Human Form should roll 1d8 for physical damage. Second Stage characters and Sailor Cats should roll 1d10 for physical damage Third Stage characters should roll 1d12 for physical damage Fourth Stage characters should roll 2d8 for physical damage Magical AttacksMagical attacks are divided into two categories: direct damage and indirect damage. All attack magic will damage the creature, even things that only affect its many, many feelings! Direct damage magic is any magic that specifies either pain sensations or actual damage in its description. Indirect damage magic is magic that targets opponents with emotional or other nonphysical effects--most debuff magic falls under this category! If you’re not sure which category your magic falls under, feel free to contact me privately and I’ll make a judgement call! Spell attacks are based on the level of the spell, not the level of the character! However, Chibi senshi should subtract one die from their damage. Mauvian lasers roll first stage direct damage dice. Sailor Cats using attack magic should roll at Super stage. Direct DamageFirst Stage: 10 + 1d6 damage Second Stage: 10 + 2d6 damage Third Stage: 10 + 3d6 damage Fourth Stage: 10 + 4d6 damage Indirect Damage:First Stage: 10 + 1d4 damage Second Stage: 10 + 2d4 damage Third Stage: 10 + 3d4 damage Fourth Stage: 10 + 4d4 damage Magical Healing:Magical healing is any ability that restores characters in any way, including Transcendent energy sharing. You can use these spells with a dice roll based on their level. Spell healing is based on the level of the spell, not the level of the character (except in the case of Transcendent energy giving)! However, Chibi senshi should subtract one die from their healing. First Stage: 10 + 1d4 healing Second Stage: 10 + 2d4 healing Third Stage: 10 + 3d4 healing Fourth Stage: 10 + 4d4 healing Buff Magic:Buff magic is any kind of magic that has an effect that boosts allies' abilities. When casting buff magic, roll as follows and quote any targets affected. They will add your total roll to their damage for the round. Chibi Senshi roll one less die! First Stage: 2d4 Second Stage: 3d4 Third Stage: 4d4 Fourth Stage: 5d4 Shielding Magic:Depending on the type of shielding magic, it may simply absorb a round's worth of attacks or provide some damage mitigation. Touch base with me individually for shield spells; I'll give you an answer depending on how they're written! If you feel your magic doesn't fall into any of these categories, hit me up and we'll work something out!

Hati, Super Senshi of the Cu-SitheHP: 75/75 Action: Investigating Interaction Roll: 17 Damage/Healing/Buff Done: NA Hati wished, not for the first time, that he had any hope of learning another language. He squinted at the labels on the control panel, trying in vain to decipher any of it, but coming up empty. None of the symbology made any sense to him. If only he could do something about it. Try to predict what was to come. Some big mecha alien robot thing, probably. He wanted to bet that those controls, if there was indeed a giant robot involved, would control it. But he was getting ahead of himself, probably thinking much too hard about the single clue he'd hit upon so far. He needed to think, to take in the whole as it was. The way Asmo had spoken and directed him almost made him feel like he was in charge, here, on this half of the underground facility. Like her second-in-command on this journey. He liked that feeling. It also scared him. But he needed to be able to handle this. Asmodeus was counting on him. He didn't want to get anybody killed. He looked around more fully, attentively, keeping an eye out for danger. Gently, he tapped on the hanging pipe, listening to the soft sound of flesh on metal echo in the area. "I wonder if this stuff will fix itself, if we get the engine on." He muttered the question mostly to himself, giving a critical eye to the pieces of pipe laying on the floor, and looking suspiciously up at the ceiling where the pieces had fallen from. Would some kind of small mechanical spider emerge from them like some kind of nightmare? He suppressed a shiver at the thought. Absolutely ******** spiders. He could handle it if it were mechanical snakes, or something. But what purpose would a mechanical snake even serve? At least a mecha-spider had legs to manipulate machines on a very tiny level. Maybe the snakes could be a defense mechanism (hah.) ... He was getting ahead of himself again. He shook his head slightly and forced himself to focus. There had to be some kind of clue, here.

With everything looking worse for wear, she didn't quite give much of the piping and machinery much thought or a second glance. It wasn't something that interested her, thought the language that was faded did catch her eye. It wasn't something she knew, but it was interesting nonetheless.

Antisana, Squire of PlutoHP: 75 Action: checking out control panel Interaction Roll: Damage/Healing/Buff Done: N/A
"Are you sure this is what you want?" Antisana rumbled quietly, striding close at Eleonora's heel as they moved down the southerly path. It was the quieter option, but from every prior experience of visiting stranger's home worlds, when had 'quieter' ever signified 'safer?' Which would've mattered little while he was alone, but with her... With her Antisana could justify trading convenience if it meant less risk.
This felt neither convenient nor less risky, just 'somewhat necessary' in the hopes that the division of labor down each path would be similar enough- and the Squire wasn't sure if that was a good reason to split from the handful of people he was familiar with. Acrucis had been among those gathered, and he might have preferred that the few people he knew stick together, but... That was not how it happened, and he lamented being separated from a woman he knew possessed a multitude of healing abilities...
He would, of course, stick to Eleonora and adhere to her decisions.
The Senshi who'd summoned them admitted to having never explored these tunnels, but expected they harbored enough dangers to merit the aid of a group, and Antisana should, theoretically, feel right at home in a cave system. Though he was accustomed to something darker, quieter, emptier, smaller. ...He preferred his.
Most everything in this chamber seemed to have fallen out of service, with broken pipework and bits of ceiling scattered about. Antisana moved deeper in, gaze scraping over what might have been some sort of control device- and there was a door ahead that needed opening.
But given that he could not make out a single word on the panel, he wasn't going to be the one to touch it.

It was booooooooooring but at least there were all sorts of people here and she bounced slightly on her feet as she looked around. She'd keep near her friends though, Freddy would prefer that, and she wanted to make sure nothing got the jump on her hopefully. He was still pretty worried after the past few scuffles she had, at least the ones she'd let him know about.

Character Name and journal link Rowan Trumoia/Sailor TempestiHP: 50 Action: Investigate Surroundings Interaction Roll: 17 Damage/Healing/Buff Done: N/A Sailor Tempesti looked around as they entered the south passage, grateful for the presence of others in this place. Fascinating as it all was, she didn’t find the idea of being someplace like this by herself to be particularly enjoyable. Her grey eyes scanned the room, tracing the meticulous paths of the seemingly endless pipes and trying to contain her excitement at being able to explore a place like this. A large claw clip materialized in her hand as she called it from her subspace before wrangling her long red hair into a haphazard bun. Even if these pipes were dormant they were here to help Sailor Asmodeus reactivate them, and she wanted to minimize the area of flammable material flying around her head in case things got hot. Tempesti thought she heard Sailor Hati say something but couldn’t make out what. She hoped that it wasn’t anything important because asking was out of the question, at least for now. It had been all of five minutes since they’d met (well, as much as being in the same room counted as meeting someone) and she didn’t want to give the impression that she was disinterested in what he had to say. The senshi’s gaze settled on the control panel with its unintelligible text (at least it looked like text). “Do you think Sailor Asmodeus would be able to read this? She only had the vaguest idea of how recovered memories worked and it was impossible to know if language acquisition was part of the deal.

Eternal Murikabushi of Hunger.HP: 100 Action: Investigation ( the door) and chatter. Interaction Roll: 19. Damage/Healing/Buff Done: N/A. “She probably can’t, actually,” Murikabushi said in response to Tempesti’s question about whether or not Asmodeus could have read the control panel. “I’ve done a lot of exploring on my own home-world, and found some examples of old Murikabushian text? But I can’t read a damn thing of what I’ve found so far. One of my Knight friends can’t read anything he’s found at his Wonder before, either. He had to guess that one bit of text he found was a poem by looking at the overall shape of how it was arranged. Now, his boyfriend can read things on his homeworld, but that’s because Helene is one of the long-surviving senshi like Tianyi—”
Muri nodded and gestured at him, by way of drawing attention to him, “—or like Miss Cute Witch senshi over there.” He gestured toward Portia, but not knowing her name, he couldn’t report that to anyone listening to him exposit like this. “But, y’know, it makes sense that senshi who were born and raised on other worlds can read their languages, while those of us who were reincarnated on Earth can only read whatever present day languages we’ve learned.”
It was nice to talk about space, and about what sorts of things a senshi could find in space, but they did have work to do. Seeing that the tall senshi who’d been with Asmodeus was working on the panel, Murikabushi went over close to the door. Humming softly, he started poking around, looking for anything he could find to suggest how it might get open.

Character Name and journal link: Super Sailor Eleonora, Senshi of HeatHP: 75/75 Action: Investigating the control panel with Antisana. Interaction Roll:10 (if applicable) Eleonora took a slow breath, her gaze sweeping across the room. The quiet was unsettling. Brass columns, tangled webs of silent pipes, and a layer of dust that had settled over the decayed machinery- it all felt frozen in time; like an antique wind-up toy that had suddenly gone still. But the Senshi of Heat wasn’t afraid. “I’m sure,” Eleonora said with confidence, her fingertips brushing lightly against Antisana’s in a brief, reassuring touch. She cast a glance around the room, taking in the broken machinery and brass columns before smirking. “At least I won’t have to deal with frozen fingers this time.” The places she had visited before had been relentlessly cold, pushing her patience to its limits. But here, at least, she wasn’t fighting against the bitter chill along with everything else. “I’ll take ancient, broken-down gears over a frozen tundra any day.”She glanced over at her sister who rolled her eyes in response; an acknowledgment that she heard but remained unbothered by the statement. Alcor stood a couple steps away, her posture tense and expression wary. Eleonroa knew her well enough to recognize the hesitation in the way she shifted her weight from one foot to the other and the way her fingers curled just slightly around the fur-trimmed lining of her long coat sleeves as if she were bracing for something she didn’t want to face. Her twin was always the diplomatic one between the two of them and often discouraged fighting, and if there was a way to avoid a battle, she’d take it. But Eleonora couldn’t promise her that. Not here. Not now. Not with so many unknowns. “We’ll be back home in no time. You’ll see.” Eleonora shifted her focus to the control panel, tilting her head slightly as she studied the worn symbols with Antisana. “Maybe if we search the room we’ll find something that matches these,” she mused aloud. It reminded her of an electrical panel in a garage. Sometimes there were labels or notes scrawled nearby marking which switched controlled what. If they were lucky, there might be a clue hidden somewhere among the debris. Character Name and journal link: Super Sailor Alcor, Senshi of ColdHP: 75/75 Action: Wandering towards the door while doing a general investigation, looking for anything that might have words written on it. Interaction Roll:18 (if applicable) “I’ll see if I can find anything.” Alcor’s voice was quiet but steady as she stepped away from the control panel, her slate-blue eyes scanning the dimly lit room. She moved cautiously, careful where she stepped. Just because nothing had moved yet didn’t mean there weren’t traps waiting to be triggered. With her luck being as it was, the floor very well might collapse beneath her the same way the ground hand crumbled in the Dark Kingdom when the group of White Moon had defeated the scorpion youma. It was a harrowing experience to live through; fortunately, she and Liryn had made it to the stairwell safely. With her sleeve, Alcor carefully brushed away the layer of dust that had collected on the brass columns, keeping an eye out for any markings that could help them decipher the worn symbols on the panel. Her gaze flicked toward her sister who seemed so comfortable and confident with Antisana beside her despite the looming uncertainty of what would happen when someone started pushing buttons. Alcor wished she could share that same optimism, but past experiences had taught her to be wary. Although she didn’t sense any chaos nearby, she couldn’t help but feel like something was waiting for the right moment to strike. Paranoid? Perhaps… But the thought of potentially triggering some long-dormant mechanism or causing something to happen along the other path because they haphazardly pushed buttons without understanding what they did sent a chill down her spine. Alcor bit down on her lower lip if only to distract herself before making her way cautiously towards the other door while listening to an Eternal senshi, Murikabushi, as they explained to another Senshi why they doubted Asmodeus would be able to assist them. Their reasoning was sound. However, she had nothing to contribute to their conversation since, despite all the times she had visited her own world, Alcor had never bothered to search for written records in the empty homes she had explored. It had never seemed important, at least until now.

That's it, right? Anyway, I can understand it, but I don't read it very well. I definitely can't read any of this, though."
Completely different than Tianyian. A very pretty-looking language, at least in Tianyi's opinion, but nothing like he could even begin to comprehend.
He sighed, and trailed after Murikabushi, poking around at the hinges of the door and how they connected to the wall. Maybe he wouldn't find anything, but maybe he'd at least not mess anything up. That was probably the best he could hope for, all things considered.

There was much to investigate in the room. The pipe that Hati was poking at seemed to simply be broken at first, but closer examination would reveal that the broken end was extremely clean. Too much so, perhaps, for it to have simply crumbled from rust. Besides that, where the upper part was still attached, its connection seemed mostly intact, and there was a small valve present, and something that almost looked like a wire connected to the valve.... Unfortunately for Portia, Antisana, and Urania, whatever the letters said completely eluded them. There did seem to be a pattern on several basic two-position switches, though--the same two collections of symbols at each end of the switch. "On" and "off", perhaps? Though which was which was difficult to determine, with some set to one or the other.... Tempesti might notice, however, that a series of cables ran from the control panel to the door, and towards one side of the panel was a set of buttons, each labeled with a symbol, and a display above it made of four rotating wheels engraved with the symbols on the "keypad". While investigating he door, Murikabushi would notice a piece of old, weathered paper stuck in it on one side, and once it was carefully extracted from its spot, a series of clearly handwritten symbols, not as precise asd the ones carved into the machinery, but perhaps still identifiable... It seemed Eleonora's idea might well be a good one! Although Alcor didn't find any writing on the columnds, she did find a thin wire, and if she followed it, she might notice that in one direction, it ran towards the valve at the top of the fallen pipe, and at the other, it seemed to connect to a spot on the floor covered by fallen debris..... Character Name and journal link Rowan Trumoia/Sailor TempestiHP: 50 Action: Investigate Control Panel Interaction Roll: 4 Damage/Healing/Buff Done: N/A The gods of temptation were testing Sailor Tempesti with these buttons and symbols. Restraining her reckless curiosity for the moment, she turned toward the others. Even if it would open the door, as the wire might very well indicate, she had no idea what could be on the other side. And if it didn’t open the door, who knows what it might do. Getting these people maimed or killed would make a poor first impression, to say the least. Tracing her fingers just above the buttons without touching them she murmured, “This looks like it opens the door, I still have no idea what it says though.” Once again she forced her hand down to her side. No button mashing. Good Rowan.

Eternal Murikabushi of Hunger.HP: 100 Action: Pulling the slip of paper out of the door and deducing what it means. Also, leadership! Organizing! Interaction Roll: 20. Damage/Healing/Buff Done: N/A. Investigating the door didn’t initially seem to lead to much of anywhere. No visible handles, and it was probably too heavy for Murikabushi to move. Idly pressing a hand against it confirmed that suspicion. Definitely too heavy for him to move on his own, and looking around at the others with him……maybe they had a chance if they all worked together? But there was still the issue of how to get all of them to pressure the door at the same time. It was only so big and there were more people here than could probably comfortably push against it at once.
On the other hand, jostling the door nudged something loose: a little slip of paper. Murikabushi rushed to catch it before it could flutter to the ground, and once it landed in his palms, he handled it with the care normally reserved for irreplaceably fragile objects like Fabergé eggs and Heian period tea sets. Who knew how long ago someone had put this here? Paper degraded so fast, it wasn’t possible to be careful enough, in his mind. Opening it up, he stared down at symbols like nothing he’d ever seen before……at least, not until he looked over at the control panel where Tempesti stood.
“If that opens the door, I think we might have the password right here,” Murikabushi said, speaking up to get the group’s attention. He moved over to the control panel, and traced his finger in the air over the buttons, indicating the order in which they needed to be pressed. “They should go in the order on this paper, I think. That being said: we should be careful and be ready for anything. Asmodeus said that she’s run into all kinds of danger down here, so in case there’s anything waiting on the other side of the door? We should try to get in the best formation we can to make sure everyone is safe. I’ll go in the front.
“Hey, Stargazer, Friend of Grieve?” He tried to catch Urania’s eye and waved at her. “Can you come in the front with me when the door opens? We’re the eternals here. We’ve seen more action, so let’s put that experience to use.” Based on Grieve’s stories about what the Nameless had gotten up to, Urania probably had the most experience of anyone in this room.
Looking around, Murikabushi specifically waved at Tianyi and Chillingham next. “Tianyi, Chillingham, do you two think you can put in the code to open the door, when people are ready? Everyone else, share what your magic does and let’s decide who’s going where.”

Character Name and journal link: Super Sailor Alcor, Senshi of ColdHP: 75/75 Action: Investigating the wire she'd found. Interaction Roll:14 Alcor followed the wire, her fingers hovering near it as she traced its path to a fallen pipe where it connected to a valve near the top. She hesitated, uncertain of its purpose but not curious enough to risk disconnecting it. Instead, she followed the wire back toward the column, searching for the other end until a voice caught her attention. One of the Eternals, Murikabushi the one who had been by the door a moment ago, was giving orders. She glanced over, momentarily puzzled. Wasn’t Hati meant to lead this route. Unless she misunderstood, Alcor thought that Asmodeus had put him in charge. But the way the Eternal spoke, calling at least two by name, suggested some level of familiarity among them. Whether that meant acquaintances or friends, she wasn’t sure. However, a faint smile played at her lips as he tried to rally the other Eternal, his comment implying they’d seen more action because of their rank. Confidence or bravado - either way, it was mildly amusing since in her experience rank was an indication of power and not tenure. Although she was still a Super Senshi, Alcor had been a part of this war for a decade now while her twin had about five years now. While she was not inclined to correct him and would prefer not to get into a pissing match, the Senshi of Cold knew her sister well and shot her a stern look to ‘let it go’. To which Eleonora looked back at her with an ‘are-you-kidding-me’ expression. Always my sister’s keeper… Alcor shook her head then motioned with her hand for Eleonora to join her in moving some of the debris that had at some point fallen on top of the wire she was trying to follow. "I'm the Senshi of Cold, and my sister..." Alcor nodded in Eleonora's direction, "is the Senshi of Heat. Our magic is mechanically the same but opposites in temperature. Be advised, don't stand in front of either of us if we have to use our cone attacks." She simply stated and offered no more in the way of explanation.
