♡.❤.♡ Character Information ♡.❤.♡ Name: Ronan Stage: S2 Race: Geian / Water Status: Gender: Male Base Traits: Aspiring || Blunt || Impatient Personality: Ronan is a whirlwind of a teen, one will never know what he will be into next as he simply cannot sit still. Whenever he has his mind set on something he will push himself towards that goal until its been achieved. His life-long goal is to be the best fighter on the ocean and maybe even become a captain himself one day with a ship like the Misty Maiden. He is never shy with others and always voices his opinions even if they don't like to hear it, especially since he has no idea of personal boundaries or similar etiquettes. Appearance: Bulking up as he builds up his brute strength, working to harness the power of storms as a brute. Will definitely be gaining some scars because of the constant trouble he finds. History: Born to the first mate and navigator of a successful privateer ship.... Raised on the Misty Maiden alongside of his sibling, Ronan has enjoyed the adventures that constantly sailing around the world brings. Being one of the youngest on the crew has always pushed him to try harder to prove himself to the older kids, especially Endellion, and Ronan has proven that he can indeed find trouble wherever they go. While he is also protective of his friends most of their troubles probably would never be a thing if it wasn't for Ronan trying to find adventure every and anywhere while they are growing up together on the Misty Maiden. He does enjoy spending some time on land since it allows him to grow closer to his parents' families, the boy being a tad bit spoiled especially by his Matori grandparents. Family: Yokka (mother) Emiyn (father) Mako (sibling) Major Relationships: Imani & Endellion (a pair of siblings who are the children of the captain on the Misty Maiden. They're basically like brothers to him.) Some Notes: Always has a travel bag of random supplies at the ready and is constantly covered in bandages because of various injuries.

♡.❤.♡ Sweeping Thoughts ♡.❤.♡ Ronan stared out at the starry sky above. The Misty Maiden was once again on a longer voyage, this time to the far island of Yael, and so the crew had plenty of time to enjoy the ocean and work on preparing the ship for arrival. While Ronan wasn’t the more organized person, the disarray of his small cabin room that he shared with Mako attested to that, the boy was at least respectful and offered to sweep the deck whenever he could help out. He was old enough for easy chores that did not involve anything too crazy or dangerous, but not old enough for the fun stuff yet like setting the sails and moving the more risky materials that they kept in the deeper areas of the cargo hold. Soon though. At least that was Ronan’s hope since he was almost twelve and surely old enough to handle the adventures that the adults dealt with. His lips pursed into a pout at the thought as he swept some dirt from the side of the ship and kicked it into a small pan to discard later when he was finished with the deck of the upper bow. Ronan enjoyed being here at the front of the ship where the silvery wood seemed to gleam the most, the sunlight hitting them straight on as they sailed west towards Yael. What a life.It was a thought that constantly crossed his mind whenever he got a good glimpse of the ocean, especially at a time like this when the aqua-green waters shimmered in the early morning sun. It was like someone had just tossed a bunch of diamonds out there without worry and now they could all bask in the radiant beauty of the endless waters. Ronan daydreamed about going diving to collect them all whenever he was truly bored though he knew that jumping into the ocean would cause chaos and have his father diving in after him. Not that Ronan was as worried about his father since he had so much magical power that nature seemed to be part of the Matori. It was mostly a pride thing since the one time he had decided to take a swim in a particularly clear area of water, a lazy afternoon in the ocean with an island on the horizon, but everyone had freaked out when the whole crew saw the boy swimming there like he had fallen overboard or something. It was so lame. Ronan sighed at the thought. He had been perfectly fine and was not worried at all when his father swept in like a typhoon and pulled him from the sea and back on board. Never again would he do anything that anyone else could see on purpose like that, especially after the lecture he got from both his parents and Fran. The old Geian healer was definitely something else! Ronan made a face as he swept more dirt aside, his thoughts roaming more and more as he wandered the upper decks and continued the sweeping motion of left and right over and over. She always had a story or some sort of lecture planned for him whenever he was dragged to the healing ward for any injuries he somehow sustained. It wasn’t his fault that everything fought back so hard! There was the one stray averin on board that he had gotten into a fight with in the hold, the few crates that didn’t want to stay in place when he was practicing his leaping and dodging skills below the decks, the ropes that burned his skin whenever he got tangled up climbing the mast and all of the other situations that Ronan was prone to finding when left to his own devices. If anything the injuries made him tougher no matter what Fran! So what if he got to wear a pegleg or an eyepatch one day? Ronan’s chest puffed up at the thought. It would be a mark of pride for him to do such a thing! All true sailors had some sort of scar from their ocean adventures after all and Ronan was determined to become the best of the best! “So you can take that Fran.” He muttered as he aggressively swept another pile of dirt into the dustpan, preparing to finish up this final round so that he could go get into something else while everyone was working.
“Hmm.’ The sudden murmur made Ronan’s back tense and he slowly turned as he watched the old Geian walk across the deck back towards the private quarters. Had she heard? Was she omniscient or something? Like what type of foreign spirits did she employ that she could be everywhere and anywhere whenever he was trying to say something or get into trouble? Ronan’s gaze widened but thankfully the older healer seemed less interested in conversing with him and more into going about business after startling the reckless youngling. It was like a reminder that he truly should behave no matter how bored he was and no matter how tempting that pile of crates he had found last night were. If he had gotten some rope he could twist together a few ladders and steal some netting from the storage then he could make a whole training course down there! Ronan pursed his lips thoughtfully, glancing over his shoulder as if making certain Fran wasn’t coming back around to read his thoughts. The last thing he needed was for her to catch him! He wasn’t certain what was scarier - the healer or his actual parents! Even the captain was far less scary and if anything Ephrym would simply chastise him a little bit if the others were around and if no one else was there he’d just wink and continue on his way like he didn’t see anything. Ronan smirked at the thought. It was nice to have some adult support when the rest were too busy freaking out about potential injuries and damage.
Then there was Endellion and Imani. They could be fun sometimes but other times they were too busy also trying to keep him from trouble. The boy pursed his lips and shook his head quickly. At least Mako could be convinced to join in on some of this fun! Maybe once he set up this next training course he could convince his younger brother to try it out with him. A final few sweeps of dirt and then Ronan picked up the dustpan, somewhat dragging the thing along after him as he slowly made his way to the back of the ship. “And done.” He dumped the lot of it into the ocean where the flecks of dust and dirt simply swirled down beneath the surface of the water before disappearing into the depths. Ronan always wondered what type of monsters lived so far beneath the surface, but even he was wary of such an adventure. It was one thing to fight for treasure and to explore foreign lands, but another thing entirely to go into the depths of the ocean! Maybe if he had magic like his Da, but Ronan definitely didn't have anything that could keep him breathing for so long down there! Would he ever have magic like his Da? Maybe one day and maybe not. Ronan made a face at the very thought. He supposed only time would tell what his path would be. Even though he knew that he wanted to be on the ocean, sailing across the world for the rest of his life, the boy wasn’t certain of his own strengths. Would he wield magic like his father? Be a sniper like Chrys or a swordsman like the others? He definitely was not good at fixing things like his mother so that was way out of the question. Ronan flexed his fingers at the thought. Yeah definitely more good at destruction. Even if he joked about it often the thought did depress him a little. As much as he wanted to talk about adventure and laugh at the idea of staying behind to repair things, the boy did wish that he could be helpful like that too. Ronan simply shook his head before gathering his supplies so that he could venture below decks to make his obstacle course for training purposes. Maybe if he could make a good course that would prove that he had some ability to craft, right? And then he could worry about what type of fighting still was for him later. He simply had to work on training and getting better at fighting while he was still growing up, that was all. Ronan nodded at the thought. One step at a time and then he could push onwards towards victory. A small smile crossed his lips as he glanced towards the bow of the ship once more, his expression softening as he looked over the figurehead of the maiden who guided them safely forward through their ocean adventures. Keep me safe and focused. Though even Ronan knew that request could be hard for her. A final chuckle left his lips as he simply shook his head and continued on towards the cargo hold so that he could begin his latest project.

♡.❤.♡ Embracing the Storm ♡.❤.♡ The crashing waves around the small isle that Ronan had ventured out to for the day made him feel more at ease than he had in weeks. After days of boredom on the ship, he was finally allowed a break as the crew took the day to explore the little isle so that they could stretch their legs. It was a good chance to get him away from the others, especially since he was still dealing with his own emotions concerning recent events. While the others continued on with their lives the hybrid had felt more and more consumed with rage as of late, the feeling causing him to strike out against even his own crewmates over the last few days on the ocean. At first he had taken it out on those he found at the docks in their port cities, Ronan trying to gather information and fighting with those who refused to give him anything or simply had nothing for him, but now the feelings seemed nearly unstoppable as he tried to go about his daily routines on the Misty Maiden. He had ended up shoving a crewmember, a bulky geian who had joined their crew a year ago, and nearly gotten into a fight until his own father had stepped in. As the ship’s navigator the Matori had plenty of respect in the crew, especially from those who didn’t wish to upset the higher ups that paid well with their trading voyages. In comparison to other ships the Misty Maiden was a bit more luxurious considering her history and how hard Ephrym had worked to make her successful to the point that his crew could sleep in comfortable hammocks rather than in squalor, spending months in Belrea just to rework her and allow Ronan’s own mother to update the ship all the way from stem to keel. The silvery wood that they had commissioned from the islands had allowed her that misty appearance which matched the namesake of the maiden praying at the bow of the ship. She gleamed in the sunlight, but could just as easily slip into the night like a mist over the ocean water especially with the help of Emiyn who easily manipulated the elements in their favor. Many ships wished they had a windcaller on board, but few could actually acquire a mage willing to work with them, especially one talented enough that it felt like the ocean had claimed him as her own. It gave them plenty of flexibility with their movements, allowing them to slip around dangerous ships without a care in the world as they zoomed their way towards the horizon and away from any skull painted flags. Ronan had never expected to have similar abilities to his father, always being called more of a brute and far less intelligent in comparison to the well read Matori who tried to educate both of his children. Imani had excelled as a student since he seemed able to memorize everything without missing a beat while Del had experimented with all those strange things over the years, Ronan knowing they had a lab of sorts hidden within the cargo hold ever since they were children. Even Mako was so much brighter than Ronan, his affinity for numbers and such making him more ideal to teach while Ronan just punched away on training dummies instead. Still, he had accepted that despite his playful protests as he thought that at least he could use his strength to protect their group. So as they grew from children to teens, Ronan had taken up more time fighting and learning all about the riggings on the ship since he one day hoped to run his own vessel across the ocean. He could never imagine any life on land, not after experiencing the freedom of the open sea and so his path had always been easy in that regard. As for the details…well that was what he was still trying to figure out especially since Del had decided to go their own way, breaking apart the group of four brothers who had been raised together since birth as the children of the upper crewmates who had been in charge of the Misty Maiden since her first voyage. So much for banding together and sailing across the open seas as their own crew with Ronan being their brawn. But now? Well, things were different and it felt weird with Ronan’s own emotions being a tangled mess that kept him on edge. He had been so caught up in rebelling against everything that he had blindly went into a tattoo parlor when docked first on their way towards Kahi, the teen getting a marking to represent how determined he felt in the moment. A true test to see how he could stand against pain! Imani had gotten a small design as well, the pair having taken to it since they had bonded a bit since that day on the docks. Despite their differences both knew that they were dealing with things in their own way and had bonded together more because of it. While Imani had chosen a sign of peace, Ronan had gone with signs of strength as the local Kahi told him that the ocean symbolism and shark tooth design would represent that especially if he had it across his upper shoulders and arms. It was perfect for Ronan who went all in despite Imani’s worries, the other hybrid at least knowing that this was something he wanted as proof of his motivation to work harder and to be one of the strongest fighters on the ocean, if not the strongest.
It was what he had decided to continue pursuing especially after getting Imani injured. Ronan had taken the time to think after that event, deciding that despite his frustrations that he still wanted to fight and stay with the ocean. For once he was thankful that Fran had pestered him and kept him busy in the healing ward, cleaning up to make up for his mistake that got Imani injured, since he had taken that time to reflect. He had felt that static energy for some time now and had thought it was simply his imagination, Ronan too furious to truly think straight while picking fights left and right, but since Imani mentioned it as well the teen had become more aware of it than ever before. So he had finally spoken with his father, explaining what he felt and having Emiyn study him for an afternoon. The pair had taken a walk on the upper decks, clearing out most of the crew as they sailed across the open ocean and while Emiyn could easily have the winds wrap around them it seemed that Ronan was too harsh for such gentle maneuvers. Instead his frustration at not being able to follow his father’s lead had grown into rage and a storm had appeared above them within minutes, the dark clouds rolling with thunder and flashing with lightning that was ready to strike at any moment. It had taken some work, Emiyn talking to Ronan to ease his rising emotions while the elementalist also took charge by using his own abilities to push the storm further way, but it had given the pair of them more insight into Ronan’s capabilities.
Perhaps you aren’t a windcaller, but more inclined to create storms. His father had murmured, taking to his books before returning later to talk with Ronan more. Apparently there were rare fighters who could actually summon the power of storms, fighting with power and rage that would consume them if they weren’t careful enough. Whatever potential Ronan had as a normal summoner had disappeared the moment he had embraced his rage, all of his recent fighting sparking something more dangerous inside of his soul instead. He was on his way to becoming a storm herald, someone who could fight with the power of nature behind him with each strike. It would take some work, some time to learn how to control his rage but Ronan was more than willing to learn especially if it meant that he could better protect those he cared about. He would take this step forward and find Del, fighting to recover their lost brother and bring him back to the ship one day. Even if it meant taking a few lightning strikes and leaving the Misty Maiden for a bit himself, Ronan was determined to figure things out. He didn’t want Imani to be harmed any more nor did he want to distract Mako from his merchant path, this would be something he would take on himself in the near future after a bit of training with his father who could hopefully help him to quell the storm that raged inside of his soul. Or better yet to fully embrace it and allow him to control it without being completely consumed, though if he needed to be consumed to succeed in figuring out this future path…well, so be it. Ronan was more than willing to take the risk, the very thought bringing a dangerous grin to his lips as he looked at the sky above and watched the gathering clouds. It was time to begin.
