There was an overwhelming group of Senshi and Knights and Mauvians just outside the dome. Commodore Lyndin passed through the barrier with ease and immediately began surveying the group with obvious pride. Their base camp was in various states of set-up, but they already had temporary structures up and there was no doubt in his mind that they’d be finished within the next few hours.

He’d left his Commanders in charge in his absence and--as always--the Vanguard was in good hands.

They had unloaded their ship and moved out all the sleeping pods, and the vast majority of the team was in the process of deconstructing the ship to create a livable space for the immediate future. Lyndin had been on a thousand missions like this, though it had been a long time since he’d been on one so big.

Everyone worked in tandem; they were a complete unit and they all had tasks to complete.

He passed around the grounds, nodding approval and giving brief words of praise as he took a good look around. He did not stop anywhere for long, and it seemed like he was making a quick observation--or, looking for something.

He found it only a moment later--a clearing nearly in the middle of their claimed land. It gave him a good view of everyone, and there was ample room around him to allow them to gather.

He pressed a few buttons on his wristband, accessing the communication feature. “Cadets, I think it’s time to go over mission objectives. Meet me in the South field. Leave your tasks, you can come back to them when we’re done. This won’t take long.

He stood and waited, arms crossed over his chest.

Almost immediately, a crowd began to join him. He greeted each and every one of them with a polite smile and nod. He was keeping tabs on the numbers, counting everyone who joined him. It was unsurprising that everyone was there in less than two minutes; they understood the importance of responding promptly. They were tired; the faster they built their shelter, the faster they could sleep.

No one had time to waste.

So, when he was satisfied that he had everyone gathered, he cleared his throat and spoke in his loud, clear voice. “His Highness is out with our contacts,” he said, nodding to the barrier where Caedus’ blurry form was only just barely visible.

They’re a rambunctious bunch, but we are guests on their world. Please remember the importance of respecting them. I don’t think they’re all happy to see us. I don’t want anyone going out tonight. We’ve had a long trip already and I’m sure most of you are eager to rest up so we can get to work.

They’d already made impressive strides, but it was nothing compared to what their goals were. “While we’re here, I want everyone to keep in mind that we do not want to endanger ourselves or this world. I know you’ve all familiarized yourself with mission objectives, but I’d like to go over them one more time. I know this is the first mission many of you are actually participating in. Remember, we work as a team. We look out for each other.”

He gave them a moment to settle before he continued. “Earth has seven sunrises in a week, and we’ve got a few weeks to prepare everything. We’re going to finish setting up base camp first, and rest. Tomorrow, we’ll start gathering energy. I’ll have the solar panels up before sunrise. Our hosts are not particularly thrilled with the option of borrowed energy, so respect them. Some seem to be willing to volunteer their energy. Others seem to think it’s nefarious. Make good decisions when you’re gathering energy. Don’t be too aggressive. They might just need time to warm up to us. I’m going to be meeting with some of them tomorrow, and afterwards, probably. That doesn’t change the fact that if we want this mission to succeed, we need to be able to charge the device.

He nodded towards a currently empty space in the field; a circular base had been placed on the flat ground but the installment had yet to come.

He and his Commanders had the unique task of setting it up and calibrating the machine to siphon energy from a carefully selected comet in the upcoming weeks; this much was public knowledge. “While we’re here, if anyone gives you trouble, report them to me or any of the other Commanders. Make sure your fellow Cadets are aware of any potential threats. As always, a primary objective is to investigate this planet and all those who dwell upon it. We can’t draw attention to ourselves and we’ll need to pass for humans if we’re going around. I’ve scanned His Majesty’s allies and uploaded some generic parameters. You can customize a synthetic appearance based on that. Nothing too obvious, please. We don’t know what to expect from them, so be careful. What we do know is that they failed an attack once before, so we can’t trust that anyone is prepared.

He did not speak with reproach or hostility, only facts. “This is a major mission and we need to make sure they’re--and we’re--prepared for anything. It is vital that you learn as much as you can about them. Stay on friendly terms but do not get close to them. This is a mission, not a vacation. I want you to gather information on this war they’re fighting, information on their worlds, I want to know about their powers. I want to know anything that can help us plan for our confrontation should they decide we are unwelcome.

His voice was as loud and booming as when he’d first started; with the shield in place, he wasn’t worried about anyone overhearing them. “His Highness says the ‘Negaverse’ is the threat we need to watch out for. You are strongly encouraged to avoid them at all costs. Do not engage, if you can manage it. The less anyone knows about us, the better. We need to lay low to avoid suspicion. If you should encounter any of them, you need to leave. Keep your wristbands charged so you can recall back to our warp pad. We’ve just finished setting it up, so make sure the coordinates are updated before you leave here. If we can complete this mission successfully, we might be able to figure out how Earth has survived for so long and learn how to spread life into other worlds. We need any allies we can obtain here, and any resources they might be willing to share or trade.

He didn’t need to remind them that he’d never failed a mission, they all knew. “I think this is what we’ve been waiting for. This is a chance to reclaim our world. Our real world. To ensure our survival for generations to come. Most of you are too young to know how important that is. I don’t think any of you were alive to see our world fall. But you’ll be there to see it when it rises again. I swear this to you,” he said, and it was a promise that was filled with such vigor and passion that it was hard not to believe in him. To want it, as badly as he did.

If you have tasks you need to return to, I won’t keep you. But if you have questions, I’ve got time to answer them. Now might be the best time to ask.

You can find full information on Meta NPCs here and you can ask any OOC questions here. This RP will be open indefinitely and can be used as an IC resource to establish what your character needs to know. If you are interacting with Lyndin or the environment, please quote The Space Cauldron in your post and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible! When writing, please include your character’s name in bold font at the top of the post. You can handwave that your NPC participated in this meeting or join at any point in time.

When playing your NPC Velencian, please make sure you abide by the rules. Do not assume anything about your character, the group, or their homeworld. If you have any questions, please PM the mule or ask in the Meta MQ&A! It is very important that all Velencians are keeping the Meta Objectives in mind!

NPC Velencians can use a civilian glamour to pass as humans and can gather energy using their Source Stone while they appeared ‘powered down’. Velencians are encouraged to act with Order characters, however are advised to avoid all Chaos characters; OOCly they should be very adept at avoiding both the Dark Mirror Court and the Negaverse and should not interact with either unless you have permission from the mule! It is a mission goal to avoid interacting with any agent of Chaos so Velencians should take avoiding them very seriously.

Caerynn

Caerynn was, in what would come as no great shock to any of her companions, practically vibrating with excitement. From the moment that the Velencian Cadet had been made aware of their assignment, she had been doing everything that she could to prepare. And when they had approached Earth, the vibrations had only escalated; and now that she was here on the planet, it was taking everything that she had not to squeal and run around; to throw herself into the dirt and roll around and just revel in the feeling of… a living, real, living planet. But there was work to be done, and that needed to come first; the idea of disappointing Commodore Lyndin was awful, and terrible, and had his loyal cadet basically quivering in shame and horror.

Luckily the quivering did not have an effect on her limbs; the tasks she was assigned to complete were getting done- and getting done to the blue-haired female’s satisfaction and rigorous standards. She wouldn’t have anyone providing her heroic commodore shoddy work; they had come, after all, to help save a planet at the behest of a man who was apparently royal, but was more importantly, Lyndin’s old friend and comrade. He passed through them all making comments here and there, boosting their morale, and Caerynn’s heart swelled for those who had been praised by him.

It was not long after that her communicator beeped; the Cadets were being summoned. She set down her task obediently as per his command (gesturing to someone that she was leaving so there was no worry, of course) and hurried towards the South Field as quickly as her two feet could carry her. Perhaps she would receive a compliment! A proud smile from her Commodore, if she was one of the first to arrive? Such obedience! So timely! Yes- that would be absolutely wonderful.

His smile! His nod! Such a wonderful leader. He truly understood how to motivate- well, not that Caerynn needed much motivation. The others were not far ahead of or behind her, and the Cadet felt proud of her fellows, all responding so promptly to the summons. The humans were so lucky to have such a competent team coming to their aid. Surely when Lyndin had gone out he had been swarmed with people expressing their gratitude and eagerness to help; anyone who might have been suspicious or alarmed had certainly been soothed by their leader’s eloquence and warm smile, his honesty and forthrightness.

Caerynn blinked twice at his phrasing of the humans as ‘rambunctious’. And not happy to see them? Why not? The Velencians had come all this way to help them? Her confusion was overridden by the mission parameters and details being delivered in Commodore Lyndin’s lovely voice. If she weren’t in the field, she would have sighed and clutched her chest at being so close to a Velencian she so admired.

This is a mission, not a vacation, Lyndin reminded them, just as Caerynn was beginning to grow excited over all of the opportunities that would come from being able to experience a modern human culture in all its glories. And to see their world rise again.

Maybe… “Do you think our senshi is here?” she asked him eagerly. “There are supposed to be so many of them here, maybe ours is waiting for us.” That would be so wonderful, wouldn’t it? “If we find them, what should we do? I mean- they'd be our senshi, even if they're not... one of us.”

Gavaen had just hefted a heavy item onto his broad shoulders when Commodore Lyndin's communication came. In his excitement, he almost forgot that he was now carrying a rather large piece of something to be constructed, and was already a few long strides over to the meeting point. Upon realizing, however, he quickly tip-toe ran backwards to carefully place the item back down, before resuming his swift walk over to the designated area.

Ever since being assigned this mission, Gavaen was like an over-excitable puppy. Some could argue he was always like that - always eager to help, and incapable of saying no. If one could subsist entirely off of praise and positive reinforcement, he was that one. He had been so excited when they landed, that when he first touched the real and true not-at-all-synthetic grass, he was afraid to even step on it, as if it were a crime. Then he had reached down and touched it and the very large, very 'he definitely lifts' alien may have been blubbering nonsense and tearing up. That wasn't even to mention how the air[ here was so....different! But he was quickly made to get over himself and the need to help set up over-rode his child-like awe and wonder for all that this planet had to offer, and all that he could learn about it.

Apparently the information they did have, which he had consumed like a hungry Labrador, was incredibly outdated, which only fueled his excitement. He was pure, concentrated, excitement.

Oh, Oh, the Commodore was speaking~! Gavaen put his listening ears on and focused fully and entirely on Lyndin.

Okay, they had to make a good impression. No problem. Gavaen was great at being friendly! Everyone was his friend! Right? Right! Except those people they were just told to avoid. Not made of friend material. Got it.

The prospect of reclaiming and revitalizing their world for their people had always been a hope, a dream, and now with the possibility of such a thing becoming more and more tangible, it filled Gavaen's heart with light that shone in his warm golden eyes. They had to succeed! And while he was here he was going to do everything he could to help, with a vigor unlike any he had shown before!

The question Caerynn asked was almost enough to make Gavaen's own barely repressed vibrations of excitement explode out of him as he began almost bouncing on his toes, which was a funny sight for such a tall, broad, man as he. He hadn't even thought of that!

It was also yet another reason to assist Earth! If this was the only place senshi were being reborn at, then there was a chance that theirs would be reborn here as well, right? If so, then they needed to protect this very special planet!

Valnyr

Behave yourself.

It had taken almost all of her self control to maintain her composure and work through the list of tasks she had been assigned. Fortunately she had been sure to maintain the quality of her work despite the distractions that lay everywhere. Sure, she hadn't yet seen anyone of interest but her immediate introduction to earth had been more than just a little bit overwhelming. For example, upon first landing a breeze had kissed her cheeks, made the plant life under her feet move and then she had noticed what she could only assume was bugs.

If she could have vibrated she would have. If she had been permitted to drop to her knees, pull out her comm and consult the records then she would have done that too. Alas when it came to her own kind and the position she had been assigned to (not everyone became Vanguard after all), she couldn't simply humour her own interests. With orders to execute she had been required to set her curiosity to on side and work on the tasks at hand. All things considered her work was to the acceptable standard and was likely to continue in that fashion until it was complete.

...Or it would have if not for the sudden entrance of Lyndin. He had appeared abruptly and conducted his own affairs before his voice crackled from her wrist. Given it was best not to dawdle she set her tools down, dusted off her clothes and proceeded towards the appropriate location where others had already gathered. She afforded a small moment to look sheepish as one of those who lagged behind; she'd never been the best (or worst), but that didn't mean that she didn't try her hardest every time.

It was always a personal aim to improve, and improve, and improve.

She just happened to be a tiny bit slower sometimes.

At least she was in time for the full briefing though, one that should have been wildly positive, but had since turned in to a slightly more neutral one. Valnyr was taken by surprise by the fact that those they had been sent to help were less than thrilled to see them. They hadn't done anything to offend them had they? Had there been an unintentional misstep, or was their a cultural disparity they had yet to identify?

Others were somewhat more vocal than her an questions were already being answered by those of equal enthusiasm. An exciting time to be sure, particularly the prospect that their senshi might very well be here, but given the circumstances Valnyr had paid particularly close attention to the rest of the briefing. If this mission was to succeed then she needed to understand their culture, understand the hesitancy within some, and take a step beyond that.

The supply of energy was something she was more than capable of performing and she would ensure that was done appropriately, but if this mission was to be a complete success then they really did have to ensure they found a way to reassure and convince even the cynical humans that they came with good intentions.

"Do we have any further information available now that we are closer or is it still necessary to rely upon what we already have at our disposal?" she spoke, albeit it quietly towards Lyndin. She would need to consider how best to approach this but, if they even had a little more to go on it could prove useful. She couldn't assume that they had learned much in the brief time they had been here but maybe the senshi had said something or provided some sort of new insight?

There were likely to be a few cadets ahead of her in line in terms of having their queries addressed, but she was happy to wait for her turn.

Itztenoch

Lilac eyes that roved the crowd, brushed himself off from what he was doing, and joined the others with ease. Found himself quiet and hopeful, stuttered swell of emotion that burned within his chest for Lyndins words, and how that brief thing quieted as he continued. The passion was there - yes - eagerness as ever, to get things done 'quickly'. Tempered suddenly by the wary notion of other, of caution being so heavily headed, steel thread throughout the crux of the impassioned speech.

Was their Eminence Caedus and their own peoples presence as such not enough to sway whatever lingering doubts the native people might've had towards them? Here they'd crossed a sea of stars to save them, to find a way to chase the Commodores dreams of a better tomorrow - of taking back their one true 'home'. A world he'd never seen, yet here the possibility of revival lay a handsgrasp before them...

Tenoch couldn't help but want for it. As fervently as the Commodore did, as writhe with passion as his words were, ignition key in the switch of his mind that ran with the need to 'go,' to be done with all this so they could have in equal measure what the Earthlings had so readily for themselves; how could he not also want the thing he spoke of, for all of them?

Yet already it sounded like they were being met with skepticism, with resistance, even if only by a few. "A better question, if I may play echo to Valnyr's musings? Are there any amongst them we can trust as Envoy? Surely there must be some, out there, who want us to succeed badly enough that they can be trusted to help us disseminate anything we're lacking. To help offer validity to it?" vague handwave to the barrier and beyond. Anxious in a way to go and meet them if it would be useful. To finish setting camp and see all that there was so he could pass it on to those who could use it.

To gather energy from. To seek information from. To offer trust to, that the information received would be 'truthful.' Honest and accurate in equal measures.

"We're reliant on them, as much as they are on us. It'd be nice to know for certain this won't all be sabotaged by some others 'good intentions'." maybe their fear was understandable, their uncertainty. Tenoch cared little for it though. There to quell a darkness that had pervaded their planet, to offer them aid, yes. First and foremost though? He was there for himself. For 'his people', if this was a step to gaining them something better? If it would please their Eminence and bring to the Commodore a vital key component in doing so? Then so be it, he'd see it done.....

Not however, without question. If the Negaverse was so dangerous it needed to be avoided at all costs? Then he'd like to take measures to ensure that the cost of crossing them, the thing they were inevitably doing, would not fall back on those he'd come with.

Vyn

Vyn pouted.

He pouted while he went about his duties, because Commodore Lyndin was out introducing himself to the Earthlings with His Majesty Caedus, and Vyn wilted without Commodore Lyndin’s glorious presence to sustain him.

Then, when Commodore Lyndin returned through the barrier and began to meander around the grounds, Vyn pouted again, because he did not have 100% of the Commodore’s attention. (He never had 100% of the Commodore’s attention, but that was neither here nor there.)

He brightened momentarily and even managed to smile when Commodore Lyndin requested his presence at the south field, but that meant the other cadets were there, too, and that was somewhat less exciting, given that he had to suffer their company all the time. What he wouldn’t give to have a private meeting with Commodore Lyndin there on that grassy field, where he could bask under the Commodore’s smile (so handsome), soothe the tension from the Commodore’s shoulders (if they were tense), and make the Commodore feel truly appreciated.

But it was not to be, and Vyn pouted over that most of all.

Still, he listened. The Commodore’s voice was like music to Vyn’s ears. Soon, his pouting diminished, and he could only sigh worshipfully and nod along.

Vyn had questions — Of course he did! — but none of them were relevant to the mission. He’d already familiarized himself with that enough that he thought himself fairly well versed in their objectives. All of his questions were those of a more personal nature.

Do you need anything to eat, Sir? Are you tired, Sir? Has your sleeping pod been prepared, Sir? I’d be honored to prepare it for you, Sir!

And so on.

Thus, Vyn pouted again, because now was not the time for any of that.

Valnyr

Oh, now that was a good follow-up to her question and the woman gave a firm nod of her head. Careful not to show too much enthusiasm in the event she get humiliated for embarrassing them all with far too loud a display of emotion and readiness. No, on this occasion she was once again reminded of the importance of her peers as Itztenoch had only sought to improve upon her answer without overshadowing her. A shared limelight as it were, and a series of questions presented to expand upon what she had really been aiming for.

She just needed some leads. If she knew who was safe then she could court their favour even further, but if she knew there were those who regarded them with complete suspicion then she could also throw herself wholeheartedly into winning them over. In order to do that though she did need a little more than 'they are a rambunctious lot' to go on - that could mean a lot of things to her and didn't clarify if they had the capacity to sit down and focus.

She wouldn't ask any further questions yet to provide other cadets with the opportunity to express herself, but if she could receive some descriptions, or some names, then she could get to work, right?

...Not that stalking was healthy, but it was a start in this case.

"Thank you," she murmured with a smile directly to Itztenoch. She could build on this depending on what the Commodore could provide them with, and quite frankly, she would be stunned if he hadn't picked something up in the brief period he had been out there. There was no way he wouldn't have received some intel, it would have been most unlike him.

Right?

Aliez

Aliez was listening. He really was. But he was also unable to shake the horrible feeling in his stomach. He thought for sure it was motion sickness that he was known to have from time to time, or maybe something he ate was over ripe. Or maybe he was just tired, he didn’t know. He was unhappy with himself for not being at peak efficiency, especially for something as important as this mission. They were on a strange new world with strange new things. Maybe it was an overwhelming sense of dread that made him feel chilled. Or maybe it was this horrible little planet that was supposed to be some magical place. He preferred the glowing lights of Velencya, and, since this was his first time being so far away from home, was missing it dearly.

“Stop pouting,” he muttered to Vyn, because that was all the other Cadet seemed to be able to do. That, and put an unnecessary amount of effort into trying to make sure the Commodore was comfortable and had everything he needed.

There were too many times that he would try to bring something for the Commodore to drink, or even just to ask if he’d had time to rest, but he always seemed to be one step behind everyone else. Vyn included.

Not that he needed to get on the Commodore’s good side. He was just very proud to be in the Vanguard after wanting to join for years and years until he was finally old enough. And to be picked for such a special mission?

He tried listening to Caerynn’s questions on their senshi. It might be a possibility that they could find them here, he knew. If there were so many in one place, then surely…? But how would they even know what to look for? Could they just go around asking if the people of Earth had heard of a Sailor Velenia? It seemed too easy.

Neryn

Their back was straight, their uniform fully pressed and ready for the mission. Neryn was nothing if not at attention at all times. They'd found it helped keep themselves from making a rather disgusted sound when the topic of 'work with your new allies' and 'to trust them' and 'create a synthetic look while out among the Earthlings' came up. They sideeyed Vyn, internally groaning at the pouts. They were all cadets part of the Vanguard, at least try to keep your need to drape yourself across the Commodore's lap like a blanket to yourself.

Neryn nodded in agreement to both Itztenoch and Valnyr's questions. They did not... outright trust these beings, even if His Highness and the Commodore did. Call it suspicion, it was healthy awareness of the dangers that could be awaiting them outside the dome. After so long, the possibility of finding their world's senshi... of going home to a world Neryn never knew... of course they'd behave themselves. To do anything less would go against everything they'd been taught.

To be quite honest, Neryn was just as suspicious of the humans as it sound like the humans were suspicious of them. That was fine. They were technologically behind the Velencians, and required their help to deal with their Chaos problem.

They did, however, throw up in their own mouth just a little at Caerynn's doe eyes at Lyndin. Actually gross, that level of adoration.

Fae-fae

Fae-fae swayed from side to side in an elevated rhythm, her eyes bright with excitement. While their respected Commodore reviewed the mission and her comrades asked their bright and interesting questions, she was laser focused on her ComTech screen, building a web of notes she could refer to later.

be cautious — be polite like a guest — find allies who will share resources — communicate with fellow cadets and superiors — energy gathering is taboo to some humans, why?

And as she compiled the thoughts that would direct the next three weeks of her life, a single word Commodore Lyndin had used a few times dominated her emotions.

Sunrise.

Sunrise.

Sunrise.

They were going to get to see a real one. And there were seven a week. And they would be there for three weeks. That was twenty-one sunrises. The young cadet was going to do everything she could to witness each and every one of them.

Lyndin’s mission for them was the priority, of course. But why not also have a little one of her own?

Fysarius

Their world was vast. Fysarius had watched it as they neared, spanning oceans, mountains, cities, fields. They’d landed in an unkempt plain, with overgrown grass fronds, sprigs of weeds, tufts of bush, and interspersed with trees, growing denser the farther off they were. Earth’s sky was clear and open, freckled in clouds, painted in near-blinding light from their star.

Their own personal star.

For the most part. Maybe they shared it with a handful of other planets, but it was their sun, because they didn’t scoot through the galaxy looking for a sustainable place to live. Everything cycled through consistent norms. Seven days in a week. Twenty-four hours in a day. A sunrise and a sunset every day.

Fysarius kept himself on task by outright not looking around him. He stared at the boxes, the barriers, whatever needed to be unpacked. This first because it was necessary. Having a place to conduct research was necessary before beginning the process of disrupting things.

He just had to stay focused and handle this first.

When his wristband blipped the message to him, it was the first time Fysarius took a deep inhale and looked toward where everyone was gathering.

Everything was green.

Except it wasn’t just green. It was brown and orange, and flecked in pinks and purple and yellows. Flowers. He could smell them- as well as some unpleasant background scent presumably wafting from the city, but mostly the flowers. And the sky and it was all very overwhelming when Fysarius took more than a preliminary visual scan of his surroundings.

They’d had time already to know what their mission was as it pertained to the humans and their problem.

Yes, how sad that so many of their own kind had sought solace in chaos. Their lives were clearly so difficult and tragic, to have a real world- and the senshi here: two. Two worlds. Their personal one. And Earth. Yes, they were certainly the ones who needed help.

He wasn’t bitter. It was totally fine.

Since he’s been effectively distracted from his task, Fysarius found himself sinking to the ground, skimming fingers through the tall grass, drawing the fronds close, taking an impressively deep inhale, and finding that he came away with tiny- pods? Tiny brown seed pods?

“Ny?” The name tumbled forth without further reservation. They hadn’t spoken since they’d landed. Not unusual for her, but certainly for him. They were on him- on him! The ideal opportunity to collect when they just clasped to him so eagerly. “Ny!”

Naeria

There were so many plants here that when Naeria stepped outside of the spacecraft, there was nowhere to walk except right on top of them. Each time her foot hit the ground, it was cushioned by something green and strangely soft.

From outside the barrier, she could hear some other kind of sound. At first, she'd though it might be the humans that they'd come to connect with, but her ComTech did not seem to register it as their language. That meant that her going hypothesis was that there was some other kind of species very, very close. The mission briefing had assured them that Earth was brimming with life, but she hadn't been expecting to experience so much biodiversity so quickly.

She did her best not to let her excitement at seeing all this interfere with her duties, but every time she found herself at the threshold of the spacecraft, she couldn't help but spend a few seconds staring at the ground-plants.

When Commodore Lyndin called them all over, though, she made her way to the south field without stopping once.

Her excitement to be on this fascinating world was only matched by her excitement to get to be on a mission with both the Commodore Lyndin as well as the lost King, Caedus.

She lingered near the edge of the crowd, her eyes sparkling as she listened to the Commodore speak. He was so eloquent, so observant, and Naeria was glad to hear that he'd had at least some measure of success even if it sounded like the cultural differences were greater than they'd anticipated.

Unfortunately, she was far too starstruck to do much more than stare. She was too starstruck to move closer, and she was far, far to starstruck to say anything herself. It was unfortunate, because some of the others had fascinating ideas about Velenia's senshi.

Caerynn was worthy of the proud smile Lyndin gave her, because she’d started all of this off by asking the right questions. She knew how important their Senshi was to the restoration of their world, and he appreciated that her focus was on something so vital to their survival.

I think so,” he answered. “I don’t think anyone can deny that in a world full of Senshi, it would be logical to assume that there’s no telling who is here, or why. I think it would be a good idea to try and gather as much information as we can about them--all of them. I would hope that the Senshi of our world would be as passionate about it’s revival as the Vanguard. Especially since the group out there already seems very passionate about restoring what they can. I think we should treat them all respectfully, but be cautious. We don’t know what they’re capable of, or where their motivations are, yet. I don’t want any of you getting hurt.

He looked at Gavaen, friendly and trusting, and smiled politely to make sure he had his attention on that one. He was certain the Vanguard would look after each other and keep an extra eye out for some of them.

Valnyr and Itztenoch earned another proud look. He trusted the Vanguard, he knew they were clever and resourceful, but it was always reassuring to know that they were taking things seriously. “I can’t say as much yet. There were a few offering energy already. Caedus will share their names when he returns, I’m certain. None of them so far give me concern enough to think they might attempt to target or sabotage our efforts. I’ll try to have a better report tomorrow after I’ve had a chance to speak with some of them. There were quite a lot of them, with quite a lot of questions. I am certain there are those who want us to succeed enough to offer further assistance, but given how enthusiastic some of the others were in their skepticism, I suspect they deliberately did not speak up in such company.

He didn’t seem perturbed, but concluded, “If we cannot trust in them, we will trust in ourselves. Much of this will be a learning experience. For them, and us. And I know all of you will make good use of the time we have here.

His eyes lingered on Vyn’s pout. “Chin up,” he said, and though he looked at him, he said to the crowd. Aliez looked a bit off, and it was something he could easily attribute to the fatigue of travel and adjusting to a new world. “If any of you are beyond your limits, tell me or a Commander. There’s no shame in resting. I want you all at full capacity. You’ve made me very proud already, but we’ve got a long way to go yet. I don’t want you burning out early.

He looked as fond Neryn, in all their seriousness, as he was of Fae-Fae, in all of her excitement. He did not even seem to judge Fysarius for being distracted by the grass, but he did make a mental note to check in on him and make sure he understood the mission objectives. Naeria looked similarly enamored by what he assumed to be this new world, but at least she looked like she was paying attention.

And, Lyndin was proud of them--all of them.

They were his chosen.

He had absolute faith in them, and absolute pride.

There was no better team to join him here on Earth.

Silvera

He'd been working on prepairing sleeping pods for his fellows cadets, they'd need to all sleep soon, when Commodore Lyndin appeared from beyond the barrier. He'd been out there and seen some of the senshi who lived here, as wel las the knights, and he wondered what they were like. Senshi from all different places, all across the cosmos, and gathered here on one single planet. It was a truely amazing feat. The knights were also impressive. The idea of them exsisting here and no senshi of Earth exsisting...it seemed utterly impossible and yet here it was -here they were. They were here on Earth, a planet they'd only hear of when their long thoguht dead Prince had returned. He wanted to save this planet and rid it of it's sickness..to help it. He understood that want, he'd want to help as well.

When the Commodore spoke of the senshi and knights gathered and how divided they sounded, some wanted to help while others had issues or were mistrustful, he couldn't blame them. But he did want to understand the reasoning, he'd have to find someone to talk to who could tell him about everything. He needed to learn and know, since they were going to be here for...weeks was it? Yes, weeks the Commodore said.

When someone questioned if their own home planets senshi could be amongst those living on this planet he nodded slowly. "It is possible, isn't it. With how many senshi, from so many places, being born here. I do wonder why this planet has been chosen for so many to be born." Why not elsewhere? Why not send them to other places and more evenly distribute things? He was sure there was a reason but it was liekly not something for them to know.

Once they were dismissed he headed off to get back to setting up sleep pods. The sooner they were done the sooner people could sleep, then the sooner they could get up and start learning. They needed to learn about this place.

He'd seen others staring at the grass and other things, some seemingly not paying enough attention to their Commadore. But these things also didn't go unnoticed by Silvera. He was planning to inspect the plant life around them, inside their dome, once others weren't around to watch him do so. He was curious about this very alive planet, it was wonderous looking as far as he could tell. he wanted to see more of it and of the words these senshi were connected to, even though they'd been born here.

Vyn

The Commodore looked at him, spoke to him, encouraged him. Vyn could have fainted — would have, but for his training. He was part of the Vanguard. He took his service to Commodore Lyndin seriously. If Vyn did not have the skills necessary to see this mission through, he wouldn’t be there.

Still, he flushed with pleasure, and his eyes went a bit starry.

All his life, Vyn looked up to the Commodore (figuratively, literally). Now, the ache to serve him could be satisfied.

Vyn couldn’t hear Aliez, barely registered his friend’s presence next to him, so focused was he on the Commodore’s mouth as he spoke.

“I’d love to be at full capacity…” Vyn sighed.
