"The timing of death,
like the ending of a story,
gives a changed meaning to what preceded it." -Mary Catherine Bateson
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The deathstalkers were quite the bunch, but they were merely slim pickings for opponents. So tiny, but dangerous regardless. To die from these would be an embarrassment. There would be better chances, has she had her precious weapon with her! This axe that Damien had passed her, was a complete monstrosity. Whoever wielded these weapons, had to be really strong, or just really overly crazy. The difference of weight between axe and crowbar was an obvious statement to notice, Such a nuisance of the handicap had brought some worry to her own self, regardless of the reassurance from her partner. He had given good promise to her, that she was certainly taking to heart, If only she knew one hundred percent on the fact she could do this to full extent. This axe though.. Aside from the weight, her other concern had rested upon more realistic problems. In order to even try this thing out, normally a few practise swings could have sufficed. There was the swing to consider, and the pending amount of time it would take for her swing to be effective. There was also the other issue of the pressure on her wrists from using it. Gripping with both hands had to do. These things she had no choice on the matter, but to try it out the hard way. She had certainly tried,
While Damien was taking care of his half, she had her own to do. The moment one was in her range, she had positioned herself for combat, resting the axe to her shoulder. "Here goes.." Holding her breath, she had brought the axe from her shoulder, swinging it down hard in a vertical strike, to slice. Due to the lack of experience with an axe however, she had almost fallen forward, just as the axe had made some dirt messily fly back up at her."Tch..." Almost biting her tongue, the young woman only managed to stay on her feet, by shifting her defensive aura towards her knees to stabilise her. "Blasted small fry." In a triumphant amount of adrenaline spiking her mind, one by one the axe had went, with a blast of defensive aura in between striking down two deathstalkers, and block the low potential attacks, she could finally relax when they had both succeeded, panting a little from being out of breath. "That...Was... Stimulating..." To her annoyance in all of this, there was that annoying voice she both loathed and tolerated in one swing, overtaking the concentration of it all. So loud the teacher was, she hadn't heard his whispering the slightest, having been more concerned on covering his back, and ensuring she was keeping her own words. He was keeping his, and she was mildly respecting it. "Handsome, AND reliable~!" Fangirlging at it's finest, though hidden well enough. Only her eyes were showing off that admiration for his part, settling with relief when the both were able to take the breather. "Oooh~! He thinks I'm impressive!?"
Resisting a giggle, Nejina was finding herself practically acting unlike herself. "You had done swimmingly wonderful my dear~. I am rather fond of our meeting being beneficial on both ends in the terms of combat." If only she could have kept that delightful, giggling schoolgirl mood. Her giggling had somewhat sobered as he introduced himself, making a playful grimace in the process. "Oh my! It's a good thing I only have heard that my dear. Don't worry. Long as your teammate hasn't had my Hannibal taken away, I bid no ill will. I cannot say the same for others however." Ahhh, so he was a definite team player. His indignation to anything Hades had said was rather cute, the puff of his cheeks at the announcement considered enduring to bear. Sadly so, she knew Hades enough from a mission she had been with him on recently, looking down at her nails to ensure they weren't chipped, resting the axe upon her shoulder as she had done so. "Believe or not, that choice is up to you~. Howler monkey has an ego bigger than his large man derriere, and his voice... Don't get me started on that... He, however, I can sadly confirm towards him doing things with actual reason. Had she done something, than he truly is acting on it based on any actions they may have taken. I cannot say my opinions as she is none of my concern nor interest to truly waste my time worrying about. I simply wish to have us both alive, and~.... Pass with our minds completely stable~." Lowering her hand, she stared at him simply observing how he would react to her words. Damien could believe what he wished. She had not care on the opinions of what other may think, regardless of how good she found them looking. Rather a loyally good trait for him to possess. Quality material to work with and speak to. If only she even knew that one important detail that was hiding between the pair of them.....
"Hm~? It seems our dance is about to begin the next steps of a waltz~." The sounds were familiar, and there was one single beam of red directed to them, the intent hiding behind as deadly as her hobby. "A shame. I was so looking forward to that darling hug you had spoken of." With a dramatic sigh, she positioned herself, just as the mother deathstalker had began it's charge to them. Readying her aura, she had gripped both hands on the axe tight. "I do hope you have no plans on running my lovely~ We have yet to destroy the grand prize after all~." With those final words, she had barrel-rolled to the side to avoid the deathstalker's charge, springing forward at the end of the roll, axe at the ready to swing for the tail.
Hades chuckled at her retort. “Rumors only know so much but I will be lying if I said that was not a trigger. Especially when history has shown otherwise. But be careful of rumors...some not as accurate as others” He informed. He wasn't going to explain what that meant. He felt it was obvious. She would come closer into his view, calling herself explaining what really went down. Even giving him a little praise for his lie. She didn't know just those small elements were keeping Hades from just swinging on her and going straight to the fight. “Which is the disappointing part. If you going to toe the line you might as well go all in, but maybe you act this way because you have such a commitment issue. You use advantage and didn't take full use of it. Sad really”. While he was tricked, he rather someone actually take full advantage if they were going to do such a thing. It was just his personal opinion. Others probably would think the same thing. “While I put a bounty on your head, I suspect no one going to try and follow through on it. This bunch of kids has too much honor and innocence to actually hunt.” He informed while internally thinking of a way to change that. He may need to make a few tweaks to the class. Maybe next class would have more hunter type of people.
She confirmed what occurred. Her face showing disgust. A smile creeping in on his lips. It was unintentional but he never admits that. It would look like 4D chess. Considering he was persuasive, it was time to put it to the test. Could he persuade her to think this was all part of his plan? “I'm sorry~ Did I kill your buzz? Purposely killed your gambling fun? The ultimate payback. If someone does end up hunting you down like meat once I am through I am more than happy to get the assist. The students should be the least of your worries. A god always has a loaded deck” He would smile. Would she call his bluff? Would it matter? She would change her tune. She did not see him as a god? Intriguing? The innocent and ignorant in the presence of the divine always rejects it first for they do not understand what is before them. Its just common history. Her change of looks less affected him and more made him wonder if she was schizophrenic. If so, then that would make all the sense in the world. If not then maybe she truly just loved gambling like that.
She had an idea. A gamble? What? He also knew about her semblance. He knew what it would entail. Hades loved to fight but what would be the point of it being so one-sided? It was not a job where he could make fun of her before assassinating her. The ethical part of Hades was coming through. She seemed to not want to fight if there was no gamble involved if her cards couldn't be used. He was sure he could humor her before beating her down. “I guess, A god can be merciful~” he would comment before taking out a deck of tarot cards. “You still going to get your a** beat. I still going to smack the crap out of you. However, to make it fairer. Sure, but on a few conditions. Since I showing mercy and not just dragging you. 1. Your body is mines for 24 hours. That's a condition that's set no matter the outcome of how this goes. However, if you win your team can come during that 24 hours. Assist. Watch. Do whatever. I sure having your team around make you feel more comfortable and I won't beat the s**t out of you...maybe... If you lose. Well.. these hands are rated E for everyone. Deal or No Deal? ” Why did he say it like that? What was Hades's plan? What did he mean by her body was his? Did he mean slavery? Making her a pawn for 24 hours or something else? If I win. I get 4 pawns. 4 Pawns means I can finally check up on something that's been bothering me. I believe the old b*****d is screwing me on my job flow His hands would show the cards as he had them in his grip. If she accepted, he would place them in her hands.
_____________________________ Teal was shocked when she was handed the spear but took it instantly she had twirled it in her fingers fast. It was light and flimsy. But, it would work in a pinch it gave her the reach she needed. ” Not as nice as your Ax, but I think you none the less…” She had said in return before starting with taking command.
After confronting Leo and everyone introduced themselves Lyo decided to join their group. It was safer with numbers for now. However Ro began to speak, and when Rowser spoke it might as well of be sparkly rainbow glitter farts because it was just about as dumb as it could be. However something struck a nerve, he spoke ill of the females' weapon at witch she had just returned, along with blowing more of their cover. Teal bowed her head turned towards Ro.
Seeing him behind Pyhrrus she beckoned him. He shook his head, she did it again more annoyed now. He shook his head. ” I promise I won't hit you.” Teal said. He squinted and slowly walked back towards her hastily.
Once he was within reach, she shouted ” YOU FOUL ROACH!” THWACK! Her hand flew up and met the back of Ro’s head the sound Audible. ” How dare you speak like that to her.” He rubbed his head slightly dazed it seemed and gave Teal a set of sad eyes.
” You said you weren’t going to hit me!” She heard him say. She retorted back-
” You know it is rude to speak to a woman in such a manner, Surely I have taught you better than that as your team leader.” He continued though... This time about Lyo, this caused a stress mark to form on Teals temple she loved her teammates, but sometimes, especially this one, could push her just the right way.
Teal had already had enough.
” I said quit being rude!” THUNK her fist landed karate chop style on his head a large welt beginning to form and she knocking him unconscious. I swear Rowser when we get back to the Dorm, you are never going to hear the end of it. Teal knew she would eventually come clean and that she couldn’t hide it forever, but for the safety of team TYRD, she’d have to keep it up at least till she found another one of her teammates. But wasn’t afraid of the confrontation that no doubt was soon to come. Ro was knocked out but he wouldn’t be for long, and she had a bad feeling she wasn’t going to be able to stop him next time.
She picked her Teammate up and carried him under her arm holding the spear in the other she pointed with it. ” Now then, Lyo please take center as we move. She had listened to Pyhrrus’ thoughts and agreed with what he had to say. ” For now getting across the river is our best bet, I can hear something not far away so it’s best if we move now, it’s liable to catch our scent soon and I would rather be across the river when that happens. Let's move, if you see anything call it out.” She pointed forward with the spear and walked with it at the read pressed out in front of her diagonally blocking Rowser and herself.
As they were starting to leave once again another person joined and Teal was slightly on edge but relaxed when Pen greeted him and introduced him as their leader. When she introduced the rest of the group Teal nodded at being called the self-proclaimed leader. "Right, we were fixing to make our way up river, I had already set everyone in formation, Since you are their leader it would be best if you took front point with me. Everyone stay on your toes, we still don't know what's out there. We need to get across the river and set up a camp from there we can lead small groups to find the remaining of our teammates, our best way of survival is together,
OOC: Sorry for the short post since we have turned this into an indie want to keep moving forward around the map to explore so long as the rest of the group is okay with it! I asked Kev before knocking his character out so you guys know!
She looked rather cute standing upright resting the axe on her shoulder. She was just intimidating enough but still quite feminine, it was quite interesting how similar she looked to a professional. It was a crime against humanity that the only thing that saved him from her wrath was his jacket sleeves and a lack of obvious Faunus traits. At least, that was before she nearly buckled over. ‘Ahh, ahh,’ Damien panicked holding out a hand towards Nejina but quickly deciding to retract it realizing that she was more than capable of handling herself. The last thing he wanted was to insult a huntress in training. With his normally lackadaisical attitude, Damien was likely to get himself slapped around on his off-time. He chuckled quietly continuing his onslaught.
“We made a great team! We should do it again sometime,” Damien chimed. “Well,” he beamed cheerfully, “I got to admit this went waaay better than I expected. You really are the best – in and out of battle.” He grinned before wondering what kind of weapon her ‘Hannibal’ was. Nejina was obviously in the camp of students who were defensive of their weapons. The young man recalled seeing a few of them while boarding the airship. Damien preferred his weapon but otherwise, he had no otherworldly attachment to it. “What kind of weapon do you have,” Damien paused for a moment last minute realizing how invasive that question might have seemed, especially for her. “Of course, you can feel free not to answer,” he muttered looking away nervously.
Eventually, the discussion turned to a conversation which might have been best avoided. She was obviously very familiar with their instructor who had made the accusations against his own team. Yumeko did have a penchant for trouble, especially when it regarded gambling… Still, Damien would always be inclined to give her the benefit of the doubt. The young man owed her (and her sister) more than he would ever be able to physically repay. “She deserves the opportunity to speak for herself at the very least,” Damien left his sentiment short with a weak smile. The way that Nejina worded it… “Rowser and Teal, they would never.” Damien hoped that Yumeko was okay and that she did not bite off more than she could chew. It was possible she did something else to antagonize their instructor; however, it did him no good to ponder this at the current moment. He kept up his appearances smiling bright hoping that Nejina could not see through him.
While his mind wandered, he failed to notice the more imminent threat. “Hm,” Damien questioned turning his attention in the direction of Nejina’s gaze. He quickly realized what she had been speaking of. “I am terrible at dancing,” Damien looked over at her while rotating his shoulder cuffs one at a time. He used his humor to suppress any anxiety they might have been feeling. The young man looked over pleasantly surprised at her retort about hugs and with poise to spare, “Tsch, I would not dream of leaving you here to fight this monstrosity alone. I have a debt to collect after all.” His tone was teasing and relaxed, despite their current situation. He was referring to the hug and while it was obvious to Damien, the young man did not realize that Nejina could have interpreted that differently.
The creature charged them with incredible speed. He watched as Nejina pulled off an incredibly skilled barrel roll already prepared for the follow up. Damien took a different approach running towards his enemy and jumping up with his handy, borrowed axe at the ready.
Rowser Rabbleman Team TYRD “Silence is golden. And that's also why I'm not stupid rich.”
Rowser remained where he was, safely behind Pyrrhus. At least he felt safe. Whatever may or may not attack them would have to go through him first, right? The cowardly comment didn't bother him. This was survival class, not bravery class. So long as Row and Teal made it out alive it was all he cared about. Oh, and Damien too, couldn't have his buddy not around. And Yumeko, too. Also Pyrrhus was being kind to him so he could survive as well. And Peninnah didn't murder him when he insulted her weapon. Okay, fine, if anyone died it would bother him!
Once things began to settle down, he looked over to Lyosha and replied, “Well I never knew 'Ma and Pa' so...” Before he could continue any further, Teal called him out from his hiding spot behind Pyrrhus' legs. He shook his head. “Nuh-uh!” He protested within his mind. She was going to hit him, he just knew it. But then she specifically said she wouldn't. You'd think by now he'd know better, all the same he reluctantly approached her like the timid child he was in that moment.
THWACK!!
“Oowww! You said you weren't going to hit me!” He whined and rubbed his head. She went on about not being rude to a woman and how she taught him better and blah blah blah. Eventually he stopped listening to the words and simply heard the music that was the sound of her voice. “I wasn't being rude, I was just telling the truth. It's not my fault that-”
THUNK!
Teal cut him off with another hard strike. Everything went black as his body collapsed. Rowser would certainly be in trouble after class, but that was a problem for future Rowser. Now that Teal had been carrying his full weight under her arm, she'd likely be able to feel the difference of his body, almost like there was armor beneath his clothes. Which essentially their was. The way this night had been going there was no way he'd be retracting his exoskeleton. Not that he could now that he was unconscious, but still.
Pyrrhus had remained silent for a bit; allowing for them to walk and make some progress to the river as he internally mused on all that had occurred; in no particular order. Which, with Pyrrhus alone guarding the rear, made it much easier to do; Alois being with Monkey Paw up front (holding an unconscious Bugro), Lyosha and Lady Peninnah in center. His thoughts, naturally, drifted to the one who had been most vocal first; the Titan who had joined their ranks, but seemed off in a way. He was an odd mix of cheer and grim; always seeming to smile for the most part at least. He seemed to state his intention was just to finish this class and that it was not like high school, mentioning bashing heads in for survival. To that the Titan would've received a frown from Pyrrhus, who took his words to insinuate he was used to doing so to others in school. And, given his own schooling and lack of context, it very much sounded with the man's cheery tone like a jest...though Pyrrhus was unsure. He wondered if this man, given his own stature, was a bully then and if he was still now. For now, Pyrrhus kept such thoughts to himself; listening as he would ask if they had seen anyone of two descriptions; one far more detailed than the other. Pyrrhus would shake his head in response; "I have seen no others save those present here," he said in a neutral tone; speaking genuinely though it was up to Lyosha to take it as he would. His accent when describing it was one Pyrrhus was unfamiliar with; he seemed to have a lot of shorter versions of words and would miss certain letters. He would then seem to take offense to Bugro's comment on calling him Holy Tall Dude in his fear; probably something the cowering teammate should apologize for. He would then say it was nice to meet them and hoped they were not too violent; asking if they were off and that he was attracted to the sounds as well but assuming who/whatever caused it must've run away. Pyrrhus was not quite so certain, but then he believed the sounds to be false, and whatever truly occurred to have been further inland than by the river. But he would keep such thoughts to himself for the time being; while reasonably certain, he could be incorrect.
The next thought process, and person by extension, his mind had drifted to was Lady Peninnah. He had been gladdened then they were able to resolve things peacefully, a trade of weapon to rightful owner and weapon to a potentially capable fighter. Truth be told they would all need to be armed to have a chance of defending themselves; Pyrrhus having taken that time to recollect his own branch to brandish in case of any foes that may come upon them, as unlikely as it seemed by people at least. He had noticed, and recalled, how Lady Peninnah regarded her weapon. It being like an extension of her returned, she would hug it in genuine joy to have it back and for once seemed a bit relaxed since the class had started. He was glad they had not devolved into a fight back then. She had, rightfully, become much more defensive and prepared at the arrival of Lyosha; given what they learned of traitors and that one of the goals of the class was to eliminate other players it was a fair caution. While Pyrrhus himself, at the time, had not taken an offensive stance he was also prepared; Lyosha had not exactly spoken in the best ways to endear himself to the group. While his own words had earned a frown from Lady Peninnah as the man was invited in, it at least was enough to persuade her to not be hostile and instead be friendly. 'The more of us there are, the better our chances. But also...the more chances to be deceived.' He thought to himself silently. That would be when Alois would arrive which was a welcome sight and presence to Pyrrhus, and Lady Peninnah, even if she did not show it. She would go on to introduce him to all the others with her own blunt descriptors; he did like her honesty, even if it made diplomacy a bit harder at times. But he did not give her an ill look or scold such things; it was the truth, and the truth was not something to sugar coat all the time. Though Pyrrhus did fine it curious Lyosha took offense to Bugro's comment but not Lady Peninnah’s. Pyrrhus hoped it was for a reason more than just the obvious difference between the two.
The next person Pyrrhus thought about was the leader of team Hurricane; as outspoken and violent as the rest of them but seeming to read the situation well as he arrived. Announcing his own presence with a simple greeting, he would ask rhetorically if this is where Lady Peninnah and Pyrrhus were; only getting a nod from the latter in response to that, though relief was evident on Pyrrhus' face. 'All we are missing now is Thyra.' He thought to himself silently; hoping Thyra would appear soon enough as well though finding it unlikely. And thankfully, Alois had arrived armed as well; he was glad his team had been resourceful thus far. He would say he was glad they were both alright before guessing/asking if they had spoken of their names while looking to Pyrrhus in particular who would merely nod. Because it was more expected than required answering, Pyrrhus felt no need to say more on that subject save the nod. "It is good to see you as well, Alois." Pyrrhus would respond with a friendly smile and firm clasp of hands should he accept it. He would ask for similar introductions to be made for him of the others in the group, which Lady Peninnah had complied with. Pyrrhus was feeling more confident now on their odds with most of his team there; but he was feeling much more doubts now in regard to the group due to the actions of Monkey Paw in particular.
Which brought his thoughts to the final two, or the original two depending how it could be thought, of their current group; Bugro and Monkey Paw. While having been respectful and pleasant enough to Lady Peninnah and himself, it seemed it was not so amongst those two. It had started simple enough; Bugro had started to say, after Lyosha's comment, that he had never knew his mother or father before Monkey Paw would speak after beckoning him; promising she would not hurt him as he seemed reluctant to go. This made Pyrrhus curious though; 'Does she often hurt him or is it like how our team works out issues?' He wondered to himself. Bugro seeming to believe her and walked to her after a little hesitation. And then...she did something that made Pyrrhus twitch, back then, a little at seeing along with surprise; calling him a foul roach as she broke her word and struck him. Saying he had no right to speak to Lady Peninnah as he had earlier, as Bugro would admittedly whine about her promise. Saying she had taught him better than that as he would say he wasn't being rude, just truthful, before Monkey Paw seemed like she could take no more and struck him again. Telling him to quit being rude as she struck him hard enough Bugro crumpled as he went unconscious. Pyrrhus, had any been looking, would've had a look of anger on his face as his hands would be tightening around his weapon as hard as he could. 'Protect the weak...speak only the truth...' He recited in his head as he watched how she would then proceed as if little occurred. And picking up her teammate and telling everyone to go into formation to cross; claiming a danger nearby which Pyrrhus could not hear, though he did not have the hearing of a faunus as far as he knew, and that they needed to cross the river.
Pyrrhus had remained silent through all this, trying to calm his own anger and focus on the goal of moving on, and succeeding for a bit; at least till they were attempting to cross. But as he stood on the riverbank...he could hold silent no more. Stopping, just before entering it as the rearguard, he would speak aloud. "Halt! Before we travel further, there is something I must speak and ask of you Monkey Paw; what is the truth?" He would say in a commanding tone of voice; something he had not done since meeting everyone. He would give no pause or time for any other to speak as he would continue. "In the short time I have been here, I have heard more than a few inconsistencies. All things I was willing to believe may've just been by the tension present. Until you broke your word; even to one as cowardly as he had been, and disrespectful as he may've been, one's word is their bond. To break it is to break trust in that; especially when it seems he is accustomed to this kind of treatment." Pyrrhus would say with a pause to let the words sink in before continuing. "Your story and his do not match. First off, he claimed the weapon was in the river and had been when he was in distress; which you verified by saying you saw him go towards it but claimed he would never be able to lift it. Yet, when Lady Peninnah lifted such a weapon, he seemed to suggest he had tried wielding it but could not do so as effortlessly as she; and that he had tried swimming with it, not just plucking it from the water as it was wedged in the rocks. Further, after your romantic display with him, he asked if Lady Peninnah and I were buying some deception; your current treatment of him and his own fear of you seeming to disprove you two are so connected, yet you made a point to show that to us. You have also seemed to have done your best to silence him; be it from your forceful 'hugs' of earlier to this where his going unconscious seemed to bother you little. It is up to the strong to protect the weak, not harm them. So, I ask you again; what is the truth?" He would say, going through all he had noticed as he could hold it in no more. His code of never fearing to act kicking in as he felt he had delayed confrontation too long; it may've been better, for group peace, if he had spoken of her breaking her word the moment she had done so. ♞ Post count: 17 ☀.☀.☀.☀.☀.☀.☀.☀.☀.☀.☀.☀.☀.☀.☀.☀.☀.☀.☀.☀.☀.☀.☀.☀.☀.☀.☀.☀.☀.☀ ▄ ▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄ ▄
Peninnah merely nodded to Monkey's comment about her spear.'Not my greatest work but, in the right hands, it'll actually be a great weapon,'The young tribeswoman thought, believing technique and skill over creation was better for the spear. Making her way back towards where Pyrrhus was, she was silent until they were joined by the big guy and a familiar face...And then things got awkward after introductions.
Cyn shook her head in reply to Lyo's question, thinking of what could possibly happened...or if it was even real; either way they had to get moving. Sheathing her axe, she would show she was no threat for now. Her look towards Lyosha would indicate wordlessly that she thought he was a weirdo though before she looked back to Bugro who seemed to still be cowering now."You're an odd one,"Cyn commented, referring to Rowser's earlier comments and hand gestures. Seeing and introducing their team leader, she would not argue him being up front with the giantess.
The crimson-eyed maiden glowered darkly with annoyance to Monkey then while she spoke to Bug-Boy; it didn't sit right in her stomach. Monkey had lied! She broke a promise! To her Teammate of all people. Like Pyrrhus, an oath was a show of a person's honor, and to break it...Peninnah would rather die than break any promise she made, and you never abuse your teammate in such a way; and she held others to the same standards.'Not good...And I can defend myself,'She thought; even if Teal had good intentions, Cyn was not one that needed saving, or was sensitive to words really so it was rather insulting to have someone ranting For her.
As they walked, it was a tense silence; she could feel it even from her usually calm and reasonable teammate before he would speak up. She would pause then and look back towards the Knight of Olde with calm respect. The petite young woman looked back to Teal then after Pyrrhus was done.'Silent and observant as always,'She thought admiringly before looking to the unconscious Bugro before looking to Teal. It would seem that depending on the answer, they might either split or continue on together; either way, she would take to following her teammate."The truth is always better than false words. Please clarify,"Peninnah reasoned looking to Teal as she waited for the answer. Even now before they would even cross the river, she would not touch her weapon. Instead, she would fold her hands before her person; waiting.
Yumeko would listen to the teacher go on about how it was sad that she didn't take full advantage of what she created. She would roll her eyes a bit. "As you said, some people have honor, my honor makes it so that I don't have as much of an advantage over others." She still had her hand out. Then a sly smile would come to her face. She had a better idea.
Then she would listen to him mock her about her gambling obsession. She would chuckle out loud. "Did you really think that second time was to trick you? I already exacted my revenge against you. Now I know I have to somehow win this bout we are having." She would then get closer to him, leaving her mace behind.
"How about a counter offer. I'm willing to have the "Buy in" be me having to do something for you. There are worse things it could be. However, unless my friends want to join, I will not make them. Instead, if I win, I pass the class, whether I get hunted down or not. If I lose, I'll do the deed alone, and I'll give you a way how to make hunters and the hunted. How to turn innocent students against each other, to see how they will act in the face of power over the powerless." Her eyes started to turn red. If he agreed, she would start the game, if not, then she was ready for him to throw a punch at her. She gritted her teeth, bracing for it.
Hades would look at the woman before him. The idea she was having. To think she had control here. The audacity of it all. She made her counteroffer and it was something he would have to think about. She was going to show him how to be deceitful? She thought they were on the same level? It would appear that her idea was going to be out of the question. He would look as if he was going to throw a punch. She braced for it which was good. He had so much anger that he needed to release it but the issue was while a killer he wasn't that much of a savage. She clearly didn't want to fight with hands but with something else. Sighing and sticking to his morals (because unfortunately, the owner of Hades doesn't break his character on purpose) Hades would let the games begin. Her eyes glowed red. The excitement from the gambling that was about to occur? They would be matched with Hade's golden hues. This was still a fight but of a different magnitude. Besides, he still got something if he loses. So it wasn't a real gamble on his end. A grade was a grade. However, she seemed to be thinking only about herself again. He thought she try to draw a bargain for her teammates as well. Foolishness? Selfishness? Or did she think they were able to handle themselves without a safety net? The odds were definitely stacked more in his favor. Than hers. She gets a thrill off this. The same way I enjoy a fight, it seems she enjoys a gamble. Except unlike a fight, the bigger the odds against her, the more she loves the game Hades theorized. Was he correct? Maybe. She had her cards and he would watch as she started the match. What was the game though? He did not know. ¨Let us begin. A god fears no one.
They were handling the situation well. They didn't run away so they would not come across the Hades picture. Instead, they stood their ground and fought like warriors! The pissed off mother Death Stalker was on the hunt! With the tumble roll, Nejina would dodge the deadly stinger that would try and pierce it. Instead, it struck the ground, causing a tiny tremor with its power. The strike to its tail was strong but it wasn't strong enough to take it out! Damien's strike didn't do much to it either. Pissed, the deathstalker would take its tail and slam it to the ground trying to smash Damien. After the smash, no matter if it hit the “human” or not, it would rotate its body in a circle a full 360 degrees in order to try and smack them. Its tail was a good 15 feet long and 5 ft thick. Hopefully, they have hops! This wasn't the only thing though. Another attack occurred on the Grimm. The sound of a weapon falling off of it would ring through the area. The sound of its impact would be all too familiar for a certain faunus hater. The sound of Hannibal falling!. Her weapon magically returned to her area, falling from the sky thanks to being knocked look by a certain Howler Monkey before he went to go gamble with a certain new flame~
"The timing of death,
like the ending of a story,
gives a changed meaning to what preceded it." -Mary Catherine Bateson
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Before their Grand fight against mother Deathstalker, Nejina was ecstatically taking the praise as much as an old-fashioned southern Belle would. The only thing ruining it all was the persistence on defending a team-mate she had no care to even know about. Well there was nothing wrong with giving a benefit of a doubt, she had said before that she had no issues pertaining to the idiocy they potentially pulled through the survival class. To worry about such a thing would only cause unnecessary wrinkles under the eyes. Having crow's feet for the sake of a potential nimrod was beneath her. He was free to have those worries, but he was wasting words on a person who had no care in the first place. If Damian wanted to voice his concerns, that was for the teacher to hear, not herself. Him and his team could worry about the imbecile crazy enough to anger Hades. That was not her business. There was nothing wrong with him being worried, and him hiding it all behind a smile was going to go unnoticed. She could at least respect he was worrying in the first place, and does someone who was not on a team herself, she could only observe rather than comment herself. Instead, the silver-haired lady had more focused on what was being directed to her.
He wanted to team up again sometime!? The variety of this academy was sure unexpecting. Unused to those wanting to be around her, this was oddly a welcoming change. The compliments on her combat itself went to another turn, which was returned with a surprisingly modest answer in return. "I am surprised with how smooth it had went my dear. I had feared such a heavy object with only slow me down. I take it you yourself are used to wielding weapons close to this range of style? You seem seem to be one who either wields an ax or a sword. Correct me anytime~! I do not wish to be wrong, or misassume" Being asked about her own weapon, Mejina's had literally lightened up. Like a completely different person, she was swooning like before with Damien, with this time her weapon being the point of affection. "Hannibal Mercy, has strangely been something of importance. It may seem a bit maniacal, perhaps deranged in a sense, but my weapon has been my only friend. While there are many who use swords, heavy items like this ax, or use Shields and even gauntlets... Mine however, I believe outshines many in both subtlety, weight, and uniqueness. A crowbar may not seem like much to many, but after many practices, and time, many could potentially the a crowbar has more uses. Not to mention, there's of course for every melee weapon to have again built inside. Mine just happens to be more... Elegant, or more so, underrated. A staple gun can be just as deadly as a regular gun, depending on who wields it, or with a semblance like mine.... The extra versatiliity that can be added to simpleness." Talking about her precious crowbar was something she could do all day if she could, or had the time to. The mother Deathstalker's interference was perhaps the best distraction for the both of them. Nejina had assumed she had confused him like he had been thinking the same her when he had spoken. They were truly both crazy and their own regards. Damien though, some more sane of the two. She was definitely looking forward to that victory hug. Wasn't it normal for many girls her age to like getting a hug from a good man? That was the assumption she was under. The dance she spoke of, she had no clueing in on the fact her companion was also waltzing his own way, under wraps of an identity she had assumed base on hidden features. A dance with death, or a waltz of destruction would perchance be the most suitable phrases.
This death stalker was more problematic than anticipated. It's tail was a complete nuisance to try and brawl against, and despite both their attempts, this thing was only getting angry by the second. Due to her lack of experience with an ax, when the scorpion had began using its tail to knock her off her feet with the tremor. After it's attempt on Damien, she had braced herself with the ax, being smacked back to the tree behind her, her aura sizzling around her. "Blasted cur!!" Gritting her teeth, she used the tree to get back up on her feet, before focusing her Aura onto the ax itself. Gripping it right in both hands, she had sprung forward, attempting to strike at the insects abdomen, with an aura enhanced attack. Despite her Aura covering the weapon, when she struck down, her attack was only a normal one. Almost cursing and frustration, that was when she heard a familiar sound coming from above, bouncing off the scorpion as if the creature were nothing but a mirror obstacle. She knew that sound all too well, which had her tense up. What was that howler monkey doing, dropping her crowbar from the sky,as if it was a mere piece of s***!! "Ah! That sound! looking left and right, it was too dark to see where exactly the crowbar had landed. Wanting to stop what she was doing just to go look for it, to her annoyance, she had to leave it be for now. She couldn't chance herself getting stung, or for her partner for that matter to be fighting it alone while she would look. It was pissed off enough as it was, and as much as she wanted to leave to get it, she wasn't going to leave after Damien had chosen to stay as well. The fighting axe it was! "Goddangiiiiiiiiiiit!!!!!!

A slight sneer to Peninnah was his response to calling him strange. "Monkey Paw? And Bugro?" he said looking at them respectively with only his eyes. "Hmm." he growled with a scrutinizing look. He left it alone. He approached Pyrrhus and hummed in response. He saw he extended hand and balled his fist. Lightly hitting Pyrrhus' hand from the top and the coming backup from the bottom. He scanned the group once more. His eyes locked onto the 'weirdo' and Penninah called him. "Penninah, don't be a a**! If the guy has a name, use it!" he said. He huffed with one final scan just to make sure she wasn't just being herself hiding in the bushes or tress or something. "A'ight... Thyra a'int here, is she? Probably got lost or somethin'. F*cking idiot!" he grumbled. "Phyrrus, why was he hiding behind you?" he raised his eyebrow. The boy was weird. He didn't like that, but looks are deceiving. Alois was brought a bit up to speed with Pyrrhus' speech. "Kinda expected this to happen. With a a group we got no idea about lyin' is natural. I wish Pyhhrus and Penninah did the same, but they got honor and whatnot." he thought to himself. He listened intently as his teammate said his peace. Since Alois was absent among all of these happenings he could only soak in what was said. "I gotta go with this guy....", he said point to Pyhhrus, "he is exactly like he looks. A knight. He don't lie. If he sniffs something that a'int right out then it's probably true." Alois said. he crossed his arms and examined the two. "So what's what and who's who?" he asked. "We got all of our core info out in the streets, but y'all are hiding somethin'. We have to survive in this dumb*** class, but we need to trust whoever is with us and it's better to be in numbers." he stated. "It was smart to hide who you were and whatever in the beginning, but now that the smoke done cleared and somethin' don't smell right you should just come right out and say it. Otherwise, we a'int movin' anywhere." he said staring at Monkey Paw.

Damien paused for a moment lifting up the axe to examine it closely. He was particularly fond of the furs which lined the grip, “It weighs just a tick more than my own weapons.” The boy tossed the axe up into the air, “The fighting style is similar but not quite the same, the close quarters combat is something that is comfortable for me. There is no place I would rather be than up in the thick of it.” He grasped the handle of the axe during its downward descent and firmed his grip. Damien with a wide grin and an awkward smile would shrug while making the best of the situation, “I could be without a weapon altogether.”
The young man listened to Nejina’s little tangent about her weapon. She seemed quite noticeably fond of the weapon in what others might misconstrue as unhealthy. Luckily for her, Damien was completely unaware of most normal societal expectations. “I noticed several people who were upset handing over their weapons. I wouldn’t call it deranged,” Damien awkwardly attempted to correct her self-depreciating comment, though Nejina did not seem bothered by the negative connotations attached to her words. “A crowbar,” he nodded his head thinking about the logistics of it all. It was certainly different than what normally came to mind when speaking of weapons; however, the overall appearance did not matter as long as it effectively did the killing.
It was time to handle the pest that had managed to creep up on them! Damien was unable to make a dent in his opponent with the beginning jump slash. He jumped off the Death Stalker using its body to propel him back towards the ground and huffed somewhat irritated at his inability to even graze the creature, though he likely should not have been so surprised. He quickly rolled out of the way attempting to avoid the tail that came crashing down from above. While standing back up, the tremor would catch him off-balance which was unfortunate timing given the creature was rotating attempting to whip them at a high velocity with its tail. “What is wrong, Nejina,” Damien jumped back while noticing her becoming increasingly distracted. Narrowly avoiding the hit due to jumping back, the young man still managed to fall flat on his back. Reading her body language, he quickly glanced in the direction of her interest noticing a thin blood red object. “Is that a crowbar,” Damien questioned while pointing over towards the bottom of some nearby brush. “Is your weapon scarlet colored by any chance,” Damien questioned while regaining his stance and composure still pointing to where the object lay.
“I can try to distract it while you grab it,” Damien jumped onto its back smacking the axe down into the shell and keeping it firmly planted within the carapace while running from the top of the body to the back. Once closer to the tail, Damien jumped off attempting a slash at the Death Stalker’s venom bulb. Now that made more of a dent than his first encounter, he felt much more satisfied and hopefully, that was enough time for Nejina to find what it was that she was looking for.

Yumeko smiled as she started to shuffle the deck in her hands. "Even though you have read my file, let me explain the game." Red and black aura would swirl around her, the cards becoming energized in her hands, her eyes becoming solid red. "This is a numbers game. Each Tarrot card has a number on it." She would pick the one on the top pulling a card that had a naked woman kneeling by the water with one foot in the water, and other on the land. Above her head a star shines out. In each hand she holds a jug, from one jug she pours a liquid into the water and from the other jug she pours a liquid onto the land. At the top of the card, in roman numerals, there was the number 17. "Now, the star, is a 17. Though more importantly, she is upright. Meaning I would get 17 points. However, if she were reversed, that would be negative 17 points. If the total is negative in the end, you win, and my semblance carves me up. If the total is positive, then the cards will fly towards you." She would then shuffle the cards all back into the deck. Even with him staring at the cards, there was no form of trickery in the shuffling. Then she would cut the cards, and start dealing them around her. It looked as if she were in the center of a table, and the cards were laying flat.
Once the 22 cards where on the "table" she would smile. "However, there is a special card in the Deck. Card 0, the fool. If the fool is drawn by either of us, the game instantly ends. If the Fool is upright, I win, and the cards will go after you. However, if the fool is reversed, then the cards will impale me. Doesn't that sound like so much fun?!" She was twisting her body back and forth, the cards seemingly moving with her. Her hands were on her face. She would then reach for a card on her left side, and pick it up. As she picked it up, it would float in front of her, laying higher than the other cards. She would not know what the result was until after the last card was picked. "Oh, we might want to find a grimm or you can call someone, this needs a total of 3 people." she would smile, it was his turn to pick a card.

This Semblance requires tarot cards, and the cards that Yumeko uses as a weapon can be used for this. Yumeko shuffles the remaining cards in her hand, activating her aura, this causes the thrown cards to shoot back into the deck to be shuffled. Then she "Deals" then around her, as if there were a table with places for 22 cards. The cards are around her in a 5 foot circle and move with her. The cards are projected to be 3x as big then they actually are once drawn. Yumeko then picks the first card, followed by the person that she has singled out. The third card is then picked by a third party. Once all 3 cards have been picked, the cards are revealed. The total amount decides who is the winner. Reversed cards are negative, and normal cards are considered positive. The total amount between all three decides who is the winner. The only exception is the fool, if the fool is drawn upside down, then Yumeko is the loser. If it faces up, then Yumeko is the winner. If the number total of the 3 cards comes out Negative, then the cards fly inwards towards Yumeko, causing her to be cut badly. If the numbers are positive, then all 22 cards fly towards the enemy. The enemy can dodge most of them. Then the cards fly back into Yumeko's hands.
The way the cards are picked, is rolling a dice with 1-22, then a d4 to see if it's normal or inversed, Odd is normal, even is inversed. The Major Arcana are in order other than the Fool. The Fool is 22.
