The neighborhood had been decent, once. As far as Cybele could tell, it had never been good, and with how the city development had worked out it was now slipping further and further downhill. The row of houses across the street from her were painstakingly average mid-century moderns, ones that looked like they hadn’t seen much in way of updates in the last fifty years. It was good that those builders had at least seen fit to put in this soccer field.
To be honest, the field was probably in need of some maintenance as well. The chain link fence was starting to rust, and while it seemed someone had mowed a few times this year, the place hadn’t seen a weedeater in ages. The floodlights were still working. That was one of the reasons that Cybele had picked this place, but since she’d scouted it, one of the corner lights had begun to flicker and make a shrill, half audible whine.
Despite all of it, Cybele had smiled when she first stumbled upon this place just past a week ago, and she smiled now. There was light. There was space. It was far enough from downtown that they would hopefully be able to keep away from the Negaverse’s view. Rusty fences or no, this seemed to be the sort of place where people locked their doors at night and tucked their children into bed. There was no easy energy here.
On the nineteenth of November, a half hour earlier than the expected time, Cybele arrived at the soccer field and began to set up shop. She put up two folding tables behind one of the goals and began setting out snacks on one and her masks on the other. One of the nice things about the powers was that it made it easier to carry furniture around.
The masks were cheap things, made of craft foam and elastic. She’d got them in bulk during Halloween clearance. The packaging had suggested that they were meant to make you look like a superhero, which seemed fitting, but now they were removed from their bags and laid out in neat rows on the table, the black masks on one side and the white ones on the other.
That done, Cybele took a few minutes to double check for any Chaos auras. It seemed clear. Then, she waited, perched behind her table with her customer service face on. She was ready to hand out these masks with a smile.
Welcome and feel free to settle in! The next prompt/battle start will go up Tuesday night!

Chibi Sailor Anser & Transcendent Eternal Sailor Encke
Encke liked the concept of training, certainly. And he was glad his sister wanted to be well-prepared to fight Chaos, really. She needed to be. She was only fourteen--how else was she supposed to defend herself against people who could often be twice her age? The only way to get better was to keep practicing, keep getting stronger, keep getting more refined in her ability and maybe less inclined to jump into every fight she saw--
But there was something Encke just didn't like about her being part of this at all. On one hand, she could transcend, now, which to Encke was important. It protected their starseeds. Anser couldn't be killed, at least, not in such a merciless, eternal way. But she could certainly still die, and perhaps that was the biggest problem.
She was in so much danger.
It was Encke's instinct to keep Anser away from any of this senshi nonsense, but Anser was insistent. She didn't let Encke keep her away, and only grew angry with him when he tried. She was especially insistent because she had noticed a certain name of a certain person who sent out the message, a name which was evidently a name Anser knew pretty well. And they strategized so well together when there wasn't a big mean ballerina lady who was saying things that made them hate each other for no good reason. What a b***h...
Eventually, they came to an agreement: Anser could go, but Encke was coming with. She, of course, didn't mind this at all, only excited to be joined in her superhero training by her hermano. In fact, it was she, not he, who was dragging him by the arm into the event, at least, until she unceremoniously dropped his arm and all but ran at Super Sailor Cybele, ignoring the other younger chibi who was standing nearby her.
"Cybele!"
Encke, for his part, decided to stay back for the moment. This soccer field was in pretty abysmal condition. Maybe he could see if he could use some of his recent acting earnings to help fix this place up...
Aurelius0815 Sorry Ara, Anser's excited... Quote: Encke's open for interaction for now, but he is going to be staring at his sister the whole time...

Erytheia
Alphonse looked one last time at the message that had arrived via his signet ring before powering up. There was a name (a certain Sailor Cybele), a location (some abandoned field on the outskirts of town) and a date (today). Had it just given that information, he may not have come. He was not fond of this kind of thing. There would be far too many powered signatures in one location. What if someone from the Negaverse intercepted the message lay a trap for them just as they had weakened themselves of their own accord?
Perhaps he was just being paranoid. He read on:
Order has always seemed rather scattered, especially in times like battles when it is the most important for us to know each other, to have plans, and to stick together. I'd like to do my part to fix this. I've put together a training game that I think should be quite fun, and I invite anyone who's interested in joining me to come!
Order did seemed to be scattered and they didn’t always have plans or stuck together or even knew each other. How could they be prepared in the face of Chaos if they didn’t have meetings like this? Still, it made Erytheia feel uneasy. He knew he needed training but something always held him back. What exactly was it about these kind of events that made him nervous anyway? As he began to sense signatures in the area - all Order, no Chaos - he sighed in relief and felt a bit better himself.
Erytheia arrived a few minutes early just as the first few people - senshi, another knight and even a cat - came into view. There was a small table of masks - half black and half white. What were they for?

Chibi Sailor Morishita
When Morishita got the message on her senshi phone, her first instinct was to ignore it and go back to sleep. She had no idea who this Sailor Cybele was, or how they got her number, but Morishita had no interest in doing anything that requires a lot of effort and couldn’t be done from the comfort of her own home.
Also, it was a school night, so Morishita totally needed her beauty rest or something.
... Of course, her plans had gone out the window when Rune, her resident Guardian Cat (and ‘homework helper/tutor’), had caught her in the middle of figuring out how to delete messages of her senshi phone, and had insisted on the teen senshi going. She needed to socialize! Make friends! Personally, Morishita had no interest in any of that and suspected Rune was tired of getting hit with her magic during patrols (accidental, of course. Totally accidental). Either way, she had wanted to challenge Rune to ‘put her money where her mouth is’, so to speak, and make her come along, but as it turned out, the little cat... apparently had prior engagements planned.
She was going to watch a delayed viewing of an idol concert (Aqours 4th Live, Morishita was informed), together with some girl that Rune has met on YouTube. Morishita wasn’t the happiest about that, both because it meant she was here by herself, and also because it meant she’d be kept up all night later on by Rune singing all the songs from the concert, but here she was, and that was that.
Well, maybe if nothing else, she could fake an excuse to get out of doing anything.

Chibi Super Lepus (and Etoile)
Lepus, on the other hand, had been positively ecstatic over the whole idea. Oh sure, she too, had no idea who the sender was, and she’d managed to avoid any major trouble so far in her senshi career thanks to dumb luck good fortune, the fact was that she was getting kinda antsy, especially ever since summer vacation ended and school started; she still wasn’t happy about the new school, especially when none of her close friends attended.
And, well, Lepus also wanted to show that she was no helpless little kid like a lot of her encounters had gone in the past. She was fourteen now! In high school! Lepus had been doing the senshi thing since third grade, more or less- she was no spring chicken.
Also, she knew how to punch people now, so there was that, too.
While Morishita might have been guardian cat-less, Lepus was accompanied by Etoile tonight, having snuck the kitten out of the house with her. Etoile, she knew, was only really in it for the free snacks, but it would be nice to have someone there to cheer her on... maybe.
Well, it’d make her feel important, anyway.

Eternal Sailor Cadmus
Falling into the rhythm of life had been difficult to Caelum, but when the threat of failing his sophomore year hovered on the horizon, for once he avoided a night of patrolling and put his nose to the grindstone studying. One night turned to two, then fourteen, thirty, before an entire year had gone by. His life as a sailor senshi had become a background thought, nigh forgotten, henshin pen completely untouched at the bottom of his bookbag.
He ignored all calls that interrupted his senshi phone, avoided all places with known youma, and concentrated on his human connections rather than his powered ones. So, when that one message came from a Sailor Cybele, at once, Caelum ignored it and turned back to notetaking. Yet, it spurred something in him, and his finger twitched away from his pencil and reached for the phone again. The event was something he had little interest in (who ever wanted to train?), but after considering for a beat his own shitty fighting skill, something bothersome suddenly felt helpful.
I-it’s been so long, though. Would it even be worth it?
Doubt clouded his sensibilities, but as the pink-haired boy cleared his calendar, penned something onto the noted day, and plopped himself back into his seat, he decided to give it a try. Just this once. When the fated day arrived, Caelum dug into his bookbag, dropping balls of paper and books at his feet to fish out his henshin pen. Finding it wedged between his English textbook and 3DS, he turned it about to confirm it hadn’t snapped in two, and then transformed into Cadmus.
It was both nostalgic and odd to have taken on his sailor form after so damn long. He flexed his wrist, pulling at the glove on his right hand, and frowned. Some nagging feeling in him told him to power down and consider a nap instead, but Cadmus quashed the thought down and turned to his room window. After mentally confirming the area, the eternal took a hop out and set to the adjacent rooftop.
The soccer field was, well, what he expected.
Wide.
With people.
Some people.
O-oh man. Geez. This is so awkward…
Cadmus doubted he would recognize anyone since it’d been so long, so he hovered on the sidelines away from the table. A part of him wanted to hop in line and snatch up a mask, but the other part tugged in the direction of food. However, it was honestly easier to just stand at the crossroads and—
Staaaare.
Quote: cadmus is just gonna stand there and stare, so uh, feel free to interact with him if you want lol

Sailor Cybele
When staring at an empty field, or room, as the case may be, there was always the sinking feeling that nobody would show up. Cybele rocked back and forth on her heels, checking her senshi phone every few minutes once she had double and triple checked that everything was perfect. Order signatures in the area well before the start time made her feel a bit better.
The first to actually show up on the field was a chibi senshi in a lovely outfit. She was always happy to see younger senshi out and about, and she smiled at the girl. "Hello. I'm Cybele, it's nice to meet you."
She barely got her introduction out before another pair strode in, a knight and a cat, and after that people just kept coming in the gates. She reached down to pet the cat, because of course she did, and didn't he deserve it, coming out to do the important work of dampening signatures.
"Welcome. Go ahead and grab a mask, everyone, " she said. "These will help show what team you're on."
She started handing them out, trying to vary the colors. White for the chibi, black for the knight, white for the- the other chibi. The very familiar chibi.
"Anser," she said, her smile faltering as she tried to get as much apology into one look as she could. It was good seeing her bright-eyed again, but Cybele couldn't help but remember her bruised and half alive. "Hi. Thanks for coming out!" She handed off the mask.
Then, there was another cat. It was a good thing she had two hands, as she reached out to pet him, too. "No candy, unfortunately. I didn't have a huge budget for snacks, but you're free to go check them out if you'd like."
