xRoshan was too young to fully understand what had happened that fateful Haunted Hallow's eve. Most of what they remembered was already starting to seem like a dream because of just how confusing it all was. They still vividly remembered a few things, though: being scared but comforted by the protection of teachers and the new friend they had made.
Roshan stared at the plushies that had been made by said friend. These were some of the evidence Roshan had that it really wasn't all made up. There was also the odd eyes or veins that showed on victims that turned up some time after that night. Plus other people talked about it when they didn't think freshlings are around.
Roshan couldn't help but wonder why that was. It's not like the freshlings weren't there. Roshan definitely was. And even though they might not remember all of it, they still knew the feeling of being afraid. It haunted them in their nightmares.
In fact, Roshan was sure they would feel better if they could make sense of what they did remember. This was hard to do when their mother didn't want to talk about that night. Instead, Roshan was left to try to piece it together on their own.
Who were the bad people that attacked? What did they do to everyone? Roshan was determined to find out but didn't know how they would while they were still considered "too young." (Their mother's words anytime the freshling asked.)
For the first time, Roshan found themselves wishing they were older right
now.
