User Image Aedus listened to Nim trying to comfort this Kappa character, they were clearly upset. Aedus didn't really think that they were a senior and he was a junior. Since huddled up in a panic it was kinda hard to tell. Aedus nodded at Nim's comment, he hoped it was true but with them stuck here and his parents stuck elsewhere and the school on a lockdown there really wasn't much he could do to prove the fact or go protect his mom. Hopefully, his dad was up to the job.

When Nimah mentioned the pizza and Kappa mentioned being hungry and his stomach rumbled Aedus's stomach rumbled as well. Aedus said to the pair "You two stay here, especially you Nimah." He didn't want Nim wandering off without him. "I'll go get us some food and water." He was only gone a short time before he returned to hand food to Kappa and Nimah. Aedus sat down to eat a snack, not as good as the pizza would have been but at least it was something.

Aedus grumbled a bit more as he eat he was looking forward to eating that blasted pizza with Nimah and was annoyed that this disaster had thrown a damn monkey wrench in his plans. He was ready to kick that X guys a** if he ever got the chance.

Raa's seeking gaze was reigned in as he felt a small tap on his shoulder. The hybrid cast a gentle glance over his shoulder as someone spoke his name, familiar ruby eyes peering up at him. Raa felt a sudden sense of relief wash over him as Ella had somehow found him first. She was here ... that was good, right? That meant she was safe. Everyone was safe at the Academy.

Raa turned to face her, opening his mouth slightly to speak up, to tell her how glad he was that she was here, but then ---

"I'm scared."

The boy could feel his heart lurch in his chest, his finger reflexively reaching out for hers, his tail unwrapping from around his leg and coiling around hers. "It's okay." with a gentle squeeze, that was really all Raa could say. His own fears seemed to melt away as he stood there holding hands with Ella. The boy hadn't even realized he was holding her hands, or staring down at her with a calm, yet somehow quietly strong expression.

She instantly accepted the gestures, opening her hand to let his slip through. He was here. He was warm. He was alive. Someone who knew her was here. She was here. This wasn't a dream.

She wasn't alone.

She looked up at him, inching just a little closer. This was okay. They were okay. Her head turned to glance around the room before spotting Aten. At least Raa's dad was here.

"Did you see my mom?" She asked softly, looking over at Raa with a slightly hopeful expression.

Esuyak's tails swished in different directions, a small little hum sounding from his throat as he surveyed the people scuttling about. To him, the panic seemed so unnecessary. They were all going to be safe, so why was everybody freaking out? It all seemed so pointless, yet there people were: crying, shaking, staring around, looking confused and dazed.

Hmmph.

Why not stand prepared? So what. A state of emergency had been announced. Big friggin' deal. What would sitting around crying accomplish? Very, very little, it seemed. Esuyak had decided to not be one of the sheeple cowering in fear. Maybe he would strike up some conversation and see what some of the less terrified people were up to.

Off in a corner there seemed to be a Baphomet minding their own business. Maybe they'd be up for some conversation.

Raa couldn't help but to press a little closer as Ella did the same. He hoped that she was feeling as comforted as he was by her presence, trying to keep his focus on her as he kept his ears primed for any updates on the situation, waiting for someone, anyone to announce something. When would they hear? When would they know what was really going on?

The boy's eyes refocused on the hybrid, suddenly becoming very aware of their hand-holding, a faint blush creeping on to his cheeks, though Raa didn't take his hands away. "No ... " Raa hated to admit to Ella that he had no answer to her question. "I haven't seen her ... though, that doesn't mean she isn't here. Or that she isn't safe. I'm sure she's alright." Raa gave a small, reassuring smile. "Would it help if we looked for her?"

Niamh laughed at Kappa's grumbling stomach, and then abruptly covered her mouth with a hand. He'd probably not found that very polite. Then her stomach grumble, several times louder. She couldn't help but laugh again. "Sorry Kappa, I guess I'm really hungry. We were just about to have pizza. " She frowned slightly, really missing that pizza.

And then Aedus offered to get snacks. "Oooh, you're the best!" Niamh settled down on the group, her costume skirt spread out around her. She opened one of the foil cookie packs, and wrinkled her nose. "They would be oatmeal raisin, wouldn't they. " Still, that wasn't about to stop her from eating it! She munched contentedly on the cookie, watching Kappa carefully. Hopefully the snack would help him. Snacks generally made everything better, as far as the Fey was concerned.

Then she remembered the candy she'd stuffed in her pocked. She fished it out, grinning. She offered the bag to Aedus, and then Kappa. "Aedus and I won these at the festival. It was so fun! Were you there, Kappa?"

She grinned up at Aedus, alternating candy and cookie. "Thanks so much. You really are the best!" She cracked open the water bottle and sipped it. The food was holding her nervousness down to a bare minimum. The air in the room was still heavy though. She frowned slightly.

"We should do something. Until it's time for us to go home. Like a game or something. I think there were some up at the front? If you guys would like to play one?" She looked from one to the other expectantly.

Kirket blinked, pleasant expression remaining in place as Kunibert criticized what he'd been doing. "Kunibert, there are a variety of ward types. These emit calming auras, that is all they do. When many scared people gather in one place, it's best the err on the side of caution and put a few up, especially when tensions are this high." He couldn't really blame him- the sight of so many teachers/staff putting up various magical effects certainly would make most of the students (or trapped outsiders) nervous. "That being said, I appreciate your input- I'm done with them now but when I need to renew them I'll be more subtle about it." He nodded, glancing off to one side when someone's panicked voice peaked over the crowd... Ah, nothing that needed immediate attention- the person had friends to help. He'd check in later...

"Currently everyone needs to stay inside the auditorium- Annabelle has a cache of supplies that I'm sure she'd appreciate help with. She and Aten should be passing out snacks and comfort items to the freshlings right now if you'd like to offer your assistance." Kirket nodded again, gaze following Kunibert's gesture to the TV for a moment. A low sitting sensation of worry was seeding its place in him, but he ignored it for now. The freshlings really didn't need to see any of that...

Roshan found themselves being ushered with other freshlings into the auditorium. They weren't exactly sure what was going on but they weren't up to asking questions with all the movement. They were having trouble keeping up with the herd and that's where all their focus was going.

The auditorium filled quickly with kids and adults that were on or near the Academy. Roshan allowed themselves to roam the room to find somewhere serene. They weren't one for all the chaos and wanted peace.

Then the monitors introduced everyone to X. A lot of the words went over Roshan's head especially what was being hinted at. They comprehended that things weren't great and not getting better any time soon. Roshan's tendrils glowed darker as they felt themselves shiver.

Roshan wasn't sure what would be best after the monitors shut off. There was a lot going on and people talking. Roshan scanned the crowd, continuing to look for somewhere quiet or someone more calm.

Sathe was off having a normal day when the sirens went off, a chill down his spine instantly setting him on alert. He held onto the jerk he had by the collar as the announcements played out, frowning once the orders were given. Setting the kid down and pointed towards the designated safe areas in the Academy, growling his orders.
"Take your friends and get to safety, and don't make me come after you again."

This was serious, he'd never heard of something like this happening before. And yet they had safehouses already prepared? Or were they just the most logical choices? Either way, he looked around to make sure everyone else in the hallway was heeding the message, and took it upon himself to herd the stragglers. Looking back for one more time, he followed the last of the students to the safe areas, scanning the halls as he went for anything out of place.

There were a few comments along the way about who put him in charge, but it didn't bother him; now wasn't the time to be disobeying the headmaster's orders. He shivered a bit as he passed through the last set of doors, perhaps they had put warding spells on them to keep everyone in and whatever they were hiding from out. Ears perking up, he listened to the broadcast from this X character, gritting his teeth at the thought of his own kind experimenting on children. He certainly agreed that it was atrocious to do such a thing, but he couldn't really side with these people either if they were going to resort to violence; that was rarely the solution to a problem this big.

Once the transmission ended he noticed boxes being brought in loaded with food and water, slowly pushing his way over towards them and helping to unpack one of the boxes and hand them out. His eyes flicked to the side as he noticed another bapho doing much the same thing, glad to see someone else with the same idea, though his expression didn't noticeably change.

His ears flicked when the other bapho moved away, handing off the last bottle of water from the box. Well, this seemed like the sort of person that should stick around him, and it was probably a good idea to get a small group to keep order in the crowd anyway right? Doing his best to slide through the crowd, he followed the other and tapped their shoulder at what seemed to be an appropriate time.
"Hey, thanks for helping out with the supplies, that was really awesome of you."

He'd gotten separated from Kindle, which was worrisome all on its own even without the alarm going off and the call for everyone to come to the auditorium. Were they all going to fit inside? How would they find each other? How would anyone find anything with that many people in one place? Jericho felt his insides churn with anxiety as he was swept around in the crowd as everyone made their way inside. He'd just found a place to take a breather when the message from X played.

Fear sprung up in his mind, threatening to shut out the rest of the world. That wasn't fake, was it? It was too real! Way too real. Where was Kindle?? Panicked, the goblin began to scan the crowd with renewed vigor in hopes he'd spot his friend-- but they were both terribly short, he'd have a hard time spotting her with all these people around...

User Image When Aedus returned with food the geist gave a soft, appreciative nod. He was tapped out emotionally, unable to speak past the haze of panic slowly trying to disperse. Food, though, was appreciated. The quiet geist slowly began to nibble on the snacks, eyes flicking towards Niamh before landing on the candy. Leaning forward, he bit into the cookie, keeping it within his mouth as he gently accepted a single piece of candy.

They were a lot nicer than he deserved.

"No." He whispered in response once he removed the cookie, holding both treats in each hand and observing them quietly. Much nicer than he deserved. "I stayed.... in my dorm." He trailed off, nibbling on the cookie. At the mention of a game Kappa gently nodded, giving her the okay if she wanted to bring a game forth. He probably would be terrible at it and they'd find him boring as a result.... but he wasn't one to say no when others wanted to do something.

Her head nodded softly at his last comment, eyes flicking to their hands. She was being a burden, but for once she didn't care. Maybe it was the meds. Maybe it was the fact she never felt threatened that she'd lose her family. Maybe it was both.

"Yes please..." She tiredly responded, sighing shortly after. Today was going to be long, and she sure it'd be tiring. She just needed to make sure her family was okay.

User ImageThis was supposed to be a night of fun and frivolity....and it was all destroyed in the sudden wave of chaos that had crashed over the entirety of the Academy. Yaruka hovered protectively over the group of freshlings she had been escorting, trying to keep them hushed and together as they were all directed back into the Academy itself to take shelter. She did what she could to keep them calm and assure them that they were going to be ok, making certain that they got what they needed and were seen to so that she could be free to move about and see if others needed assistance. When Ava made her announcement and tried to calm everyone the young fallen paid careful attention so she could be as informed as possible. There were no real answers, of course, but at the very least she knew that the staff were trying their best to assure everyone was safe.

Things seemed to calm down for a time as entertainment was brought in to hopefully distract people and ease their minds. Yaruka momentarily lost herself in the pictures on the wonderful distraction box......until that broadcast came through. X and his story, his promise and his warning; it sent a chilling sensation through her chest that made it feel as though it were empty and cavernous. "Dear gods...." She whispered aloud as a hand drew to her mouth in shock, her expression one of fear mixed with a deep sadness. "Those....those poor things..." Yes, she was expressing sympathy for the children that X had spoken of, including themselves and this woman who was apparently their leader. If what they said was true then what happened to them was appalling. She turned and walked away from where the TV was, shaking her head as she felt truly sad for the ones who were currently a danger to them. They didn't deserve that. Tears were lining her eyes despite herself, trying to compose herself so that she didn't worry any of the younger ones. They didn't need to be scared right now.

Raa gave Ella's hands a tiny little squeeze, pulling her in closer to her side, lowering his voice for just her to hear. "Come then ... let's go look for her. Maybe one of the staffers will have a better idea of where she is. Remember to breathe, okay, Ella?" He could feel she was a little tense. Frankly, Raa didn't blame her. This situation wasn't exactly something the people filling the auditorium faced on a daily basis. This was scary. This was anxiety inducing. Raa didn't blame her fear one bit.

"Ava would know for sure, wouldn't she?" Raa offered gently, gently guiding her along. "Maybe we should ask her, if we can find her."

Eirian had been dragged out of the room they had been using as an art studio. They had been enjoying a night painting instead of trick or treating as they felt that perhaps this year they were too hold.

Now that they were stuck in the auditorium with lots of other kids and adults and regretting not trick or treating as there was a good chance it could be their very last. (Eirian might not have any idea what was actually going on but they knew things didn't seem positive.) This situation would have been improved greatly with just some candy. Candy makes everything better, true facts.

Eirian then remembered that there was food to be passed around and the mutated hybrid realized that eating, in general, was a good idea as they had missed dinner. "Food~ Food~ Where is the food," Eirian sing-sang as they went to find the food and maybe someone to talk to.
