With the last few egg missions going on swimmingly, Verusha wanted to keep this train going. Overhearing some chatter in the groups of more socialiable townsfolk, the reaper managed to get some information on someone talking about a super duper rare egg perched up at the tippy top of some other mountain in the area. Just how many mountains were there anyway...?
Seeking out the requester, Verusha assured and convinced him of her prowess and abilities, promising to yield results in her quest to gather this giant snake egg that was oh-so coveted. After just a little bit of silver tongue work used, she managed to gain his trust and confidence. Taken back out into the outskirts again, she was carted down a only slightly beaten path to where the ominous mountain lay ahead. Brimming with delight at the final challenge before her, the reaper hopped out and got straight to climbing up to seek out the precious egg.

Heading up, Cannon was spotting her along the way, giving cues to any spot that seemed unsafe or unwise to step towards. She was used to this sort of coordinating, and thankful to have it. Like before, she scouted the area as best she could while climbing it, checking out who was living there, and what she could possibly avoid on the way down. But her footing got caught, and she slipped, falling into a thick cloud of fog like substance. It made her feel a bit dizzy, and weird, head spinning briefly, before she got a firm nudge upright from Cannon.
"Thanks bud.." she muttered as she regained her composure, shaking off the odd feeling before continuing back up.

. But once she hit the top, she was totally taken by the beautiful egg that awaited her. It wasn't the only thing up there, though... a giant snake parent was curled up around it, and its siblings. This would be tricky... But thankfully, Verusha was used to being stealthy. It was times like these that she felt it ironic how her trickster, and rebellious ways helped her in such a necessary situation.
Letting herself simply gaze at it in awe for a moment before tiptoeing cautiously, she was even gentler than with any of the other eggs before, cradling it with immense care, and swapping the wyvern egg with it. Eyeing the colossal snake that rested with the others, she used as much carefulness to creep away with its babe in tow.

With the egg in her custody now, Verusha was hustling to head back... but she knew better than to let her guard down. And as usual, she was met with more resistence. Some hungry looking raptors were screeching and salivating, while really eyeing the giant egg in her possession. Cannon jumped into action though, fangs bared, and fire roaring.

The reptiles screamed and clicked with pain as Cannon snapped at them, crunching on their fragile limbs, and totally overpowering them. He gave Verusha plenty of room to continue moving forward, while inflicting big damage on the pests.

Unfortunately they got the slip on Cannon at one point, hoping over him and racing back after Verusha and egg!

But Cannon wasn't letting them get away with that. He was a trained fighter, and was merciless on the battlefield. Whipping around, he tore after them, sinking his teeth right into one of their flanks, and tossing it aside with a great power that was even vocally emitted with a guttural growl.

"Come on Cannon, you can do it!" Verusha encouraged to hound, who missed the limping raptor as it chased after the prized egg.

And that was it! With a final mighty bark of fire, and gnashing of teeth, Cannon felled one of the raptors. With his pal down, the second one dashed off with fear, from the snarling Cannon. Verusha cooed praise to her fire companion, before urging him to follow her onward. They were almost there!

They were there! ---
Well... almost...
There was a giant waterfall in their way. Glancing to Cannon, and then at the egg, she hugged it tight to her, before leaping in. Luckily, the egg didn't suffer too badly, remaining in tact if not with a tiny crack here and there. But they'd made it... they'd done it!
They were egg champions!
