Sootopolis was going to be different than any of the other cities he had been to. First off there was no place for wild Pokemon, no tall grass. That might have been a good thing because like the others there was signs of meteor crashes all around. Landing at the Pokecenter Simon could see that in order to get here trainers needed to know surf and dive or at least fly. Going into the Pokecenter Simon changed into swim trunks before heading into the water holding onto Greninja. The pair surfed out a bit to see if any shards landed in the water. With his pack being waterproof and everything safe inside they could search this area before heading onto land. Looking around they weren't surprised at a fin coming up out of the water towards them. Rushing back to the land they climbed up as the water Pokemon burst out snapping at them. However Simon was ready, Greninja was also ready to battle as well.

With the battle out of the way and Simon dressed he walked around to check in on all of the land since there wasn't a lot of it. Picking through the debris he didn't find anything on the small island that held the Pokecenter so he and Greninja surfed to the slightly larger area on the east side. The land on the west would take them towards the Cave of Origin and the area around it.

Continuing the other way he located a shard around the entrance of the Cave of Origins it actually took a bit to get it out. Sitting there he sent out Camerupt to use his ground moves to get it out. Brushing the dirt off he thanked Camerupt and returned him. Checking the time he could either go to the next city in this region which would be Slateport or he could return to Island Two to play some games. Calling out Noivern he decided to finish Hoenn before heading to the island then back to look for more shards.

Hoenn, huh... Well this was better. Certainly warmer. And now they were in the middle of the ocean, which honestly made Zak want to take a swim. In fact, he was eying the water for a bit before Lidia started leading him away, once they'd landed and hopped off Sal. He didn't... really mind the snow, certainly not when he was expecting it, but... he didn't really want to be doing this mission. Which made him grumpy. Which made him dislike any inconveniences. And, let's be honest, snow can be an inconvenience. Not to mention he... he really didn't want his parents or any family members to see him while he'd been in Snowpoint....

Pulling his bag around to withdraw the egg, Zak eyed Lidia, who was already starting to look around, and released a Linoone, a Mightyena, and a Dedenne. "Vat, did you just... come vis searching pokemon at ze ready?" he drawled, sneering a little and raising an eyebrow as he pulled the egg out of its case. She shot a look back at him. "While you were busy glaring at existence, I got these from the pokecenter," she explained, moving to begin the search, while directing each of the pokemon. Zak raised his eyebrows in a quick gesture and moved to follow her, cradling the egg in his arms. "Do you need any help?" he asked. She glanced back, staring at him with a raised eyebrow. The stare lasted a moment, before, finally, she smiled a bit. She gave a shake of her head, gesturing. "Nah, you focus on those guys. I'll keep looking," she replied. Zak turned his gaze to where she was waving her hand, frowning a bit as she saw more Imperium agents. Great, he thought, pulling out Totodile's pokeball, the egg still held in one arm. Lidia glanced over at the battle as she searched, making her way past Zak as she continued looking around. "You know, your totodile might do more damage if you just taught him Aqua Tail and gave him a Muscle Band," she remarked, searching between two buildings, then under another bench. She straightened, nodding as the pokemon, snapped at an elekid with frosted fangs. "Would make his other attacks do more damage too." Zak blinked, frowning and looking at her as she just resumed battling, then looked back at Totodile. It... wouldn't do that much more damage, though, would it? If any. Hydro Pump was a strong attack. She was right about the band, though... That might be worth looking into.
He shifted his attention down to the egg in his arms, pulling out a cloth and absently cleaning it as he mulled this over. Maybe he'd see if the mart had one...

Frowning in thought, Zak didn't even notice Lidia approaching until she lightly hit his arm with something. He looked up, shifting the egg in his arms, still cleaning it, and looked at her. Then promptly dropped his gaze to the object she was handing him. "Muscle Band," she explained, seeing him quirk an eyebrow at her, "For your Totodile." Zak shifted, then moved the egg and cloth to one arm to take the object, smiling a little in curiosity. "Vhy? You're not tryeng to bribe me or somesing, are you?" he remarked in amusement. She rolled her eyes. "You know I'm practically a storage unit for this kind of junk. Just take it. Besides you already owe me so much, there's no real point putting you in more debt," she replied, flashing a bit of a smirk of her own, then turning to leave. Zak shifted his weight, watching her leave, then looking down at the Muscle Band. Well... at least she seemed to be in a slightly better mood.

Zak looked over to see Totodile viciously finishing off another pokemon. He dropped his hand down to give him a whistle, but was cut off as Lidia gave a slight bump to his shoulder. He turned to look at her, and she gave a nod and a glance away, indicating it was time to leave. He looked back over to Totodile. "Oi ubiytsa, come here," he called. Totodile looked over, quirking his head, but then ran over, grinning, hands flailing by his sides. "Take zis," he instructed. He paused a moment, glancing back to Lidia, who was releasing Sal and preparing to leave. "And zis," he added, handing Totodile a heartscale with the Muscle Band, "Vork on relearning Aqua Tail." The gator blinked, but before he could do anything beside taking the items, he was recalled into his pokeball, and Zak turned to leave.

✿ ❀Isis had one main destination in mind, they had spent a lot of time traveling, so she wanted to hit Snowpoint City as their last stop before finally heading down to Veilstone to pick up their costumes. However, they had to fly past Hoenn to reach Sinnoh, and Isis was tempted to make a quick stop some place like Rustboro, just for nostalgia's sake. She had initially dismissed the idea of making a stop in Hoenn at all, given that both she and Zero had lived there all their lives and traveled all over it for the gym challenge, but seeing it again was making her reconsider. She smiled fondly as they flew past a few familiar sights, but eventually, they flew past another landmark, Sootopolis. Subconsciously, Isis eased Nocturne towards the city surrounded by white rock, and the noivern grumbled in a bit of protest, as this hadn't been their original destination. Still, she did as Isis indicated, lowering down into the heart of the city and landing softly. Isis sat on top of the dragon for a moment, staring distantly at a single spot by the pool of water that marked the city's other underwater entrance.
The blonde slipped off of her noivern, unable to take her eyes off of the area in the distance. As if in a trance, she slowly walked towards it, and then paused as she drew near the water's edge. She could see her.... She could see Ebony, back when she was just a ficub, laying there by the water, basking in the summer sun. It was such a warm memory of their first meeting, and yet.... So, very painful. Isis slumped onto her knees, sobbing quietly and stroking the empty patch of grass. What was she doing here...? Why was she doing this to herself...? Was she hoping to see Ebony here, even though the dragon was dead and buried back in Sinnoh? She had already grieved so much, she couldn't explain this away by suggested she needed more time to grieve. Maybe she just liked being miserable; a glutton for punishment. Isis sighed. "I'm sorry...." She apologized to Zero. The last thing she wanted to do right now was dredge up bad memories, or negative feelings, but she just felt drawn to this area. "This.... This is where I met her.... I can still see her, laying out right here... Ha....." Isis wiped her tears and gave a sad smile. "She was such a beautiful creature... Not a care in the world, just laying out in the sun...." Now that she thought about it, she was pretty sure she had taken a picture of that exact moment.... It was probably why she remembered it so well. She wanted to revel in the memory's warmth but she couldn't really enjoy it as much as she wanted to, not with the sadness it brought. ✿ ❀

Ashen followed Isis' Noivern closely as they made their way towards Sinnoh, flying over the familiar sights of Sinnoh. Zero had assumed that they'd just be passing through without making any stops, but as the dragon he rode on quickly noticed, they began to make a detour. Rather than simply flying beyond the region and heading right to Sinnoh, they ended up in the place the male trainer had least expected; Sootopolis City. He'd need to come here later for his last gym badge, but when he climbed down from his pokemon to follow Isis, he couldn't help but feel as if something was wrong. The blonde wandered over to the water's edge, as if drawn to something. He reached a hand out to grasp her shoulder, notably concerned. "Isis...?"
Then, she suddenly fell to her knees, he eyes watering as she wallowed in sorrow Zero could only guess the cause to. All things considered, he had a pretty good idea, but... Shaking his head, he pushed the thoughts to the side of his head as he kneeled down, wrapping an arm around her shoulder as he pulled her into a hug. He couldn't be sure what it was that had her feeling so awful, but he'd rather not just leave her alone to sit in it. "No, it's fine." He reassured her, following her gaze to the spot where the deceased dragon had apparently been found. He let her explain what had her so emotional, his suspicion being confirmed as she told him how she'd met Ebony. He briefly mused the thought of her having told him before, that she'd met the black dragon here in this city, but didn't dwell on it for too long. "It sounds pleasant." He stared at the empty space with his companion, his own eyes unable to impose the phantom image that Isis was seeing. "She might be doing just that, you know, wherever she ended up."
