As many of you know we shut down zOMG! to perform critical repairs to the game servers. Particularly we were addressing some critical vulnerabilities in the server infrastructure. We could not give a specific repair completion date because the extent of what systems the repairs would make to the game were unknown. Sadly, the changes needed were extensive and due to both hardware and Engineering limitations we had to make the tough call not to proceed. This means our beloved zOMG! MMO will not be making a triumphant return. We will have an update for you next Wednesday regarding recipes, your existing rings, and other zOMG exclusive elements. To all of our loyal zOMG'ers, we wish to thank you for years of loyal support. Over the next couple weeks we will be holding various contests to help commemorate and celebrate your favorite moments in the game. In fact, we have our first one starting, just check it out below! zOMG! was an exciting journey into a whole new world of fun and excitement.

Question : do you REALLY believe about these "critical vulnerabilities", or big bugs ? I asked and nobody can tell something about it. I seriously think they never existed and are only an false excuse for closing zOMG.

II Antonia II Question : do you REALLY believe about these "critical vulnerabilities", or big bugs ? I asked and nobody can tell something about it. I seriously think they never existed and are only an false excuse for closing zOMG. I don't believe any of what gaia was saying. I agree it was nothing but an excuse. They going to lose a lot of people, I used to be addicted to zomg and I come back to find this nonsense. What they planning to do now. Ever since the gaia staff got fired so many changes has happen. That's why theres crazy inflate and no more zomg. sad

AquaShyLoneBLueWolf- That's why theres crazy inflate and no more zomg. sad Inflation helps Gaiadmins because the only way to have so much money is to buy directly GCash or items of GCash Shops.

No one would've not even known about that security problem with the servers if they had kept their mouths shut but no they had to let everyone and their mother know so know they do have an excuse not to bring it back to protect the intergity of their servers and our accounts. If they wouldn't have said anything no one would've known so they could have brought it back and only they were the ones who knew. I honestly don't believe that excuse though. I just think they didn't want to take the time to repair it or start over. I could've waited a while for zomg to be brought back no matter how long.

I knew they'd say "Zomg isn't coming back!" when they announced that they were going to do stuff with it. I had some quests I wanted to complete, but no, gaia decided to give zOMG the bot.

gaia has been going to hell recently with the new gaia staff yes admins get more money from use spending our money on gcash but not everyone has that kind of money to spend on a game zomg really helped those of us out who didnt have money to spend they are defiantly losing alot of players by taking zomg off i wish we had the old CEO back cause then everything would be back to normal!

For all my days playing zOMG I never encountered a bug. Perhaps a glitch, and lag which I did encounter, but that's too small to take away zOMG!

O_O there was a change in CEO's? omg thats why. i must agree with you i feel so bad for the people that cant afford gaia cash and the beginners ;-; how would people play gaia if there isn't anything to attract them? I heard they deleted tentacl too i mean what? how further are you going gaia? i feel like in the near future, less people will play gaia ;-; back then there was so many people online. now there are only" 8,250 Gaians Online " What a disappointment gaia. if it was a hard decision for you guys why did you guys give up on trying to fix it? And made the infinity decision that it was close down for sure? emotion_donotwant emotion_donotwant emotion_donotwant emotion_donotwant

What would have made an incredible amount of difference is if they would have said there were critical exploits which could have been used to compromise our accounts but that they found at the moment they could not be fixed because it was a massive job and one person was not able to do it and they were going to put it on hold until they were able to be fixed properly because it's an immense job that will take a very long time and will need more than one coder to be fixed. But not just pull the plug permanently and toss it in the trash the way they did. We know experienced qualified coders are expensive so even if they couldn't afford someone right now they could have left the option open that when they could afford it one would be hired. Truthfully among the the reasons they are in the hole is because profits from Gaia were used to fund Tentacl which is now closed down on top of the loss of possible sales from the people who quit over the years due to unpopular decisions or inflation or the shove the Gaia cash ads down your throats attitude OR the relentless onslaught of neverending new items that make it impossible to keep up unless you are rich combined with the fact that the Gaian community is pretty much ignored when we have something to say and it's become a rare thing that we are heard instead of the other way around. They have only themselves to blame if they lose the one thing they need the most - people who can afford to pay for items. They still rake it in hand over fist with all the new items and constant sales. They cut their own throat in so many ways. By permanently shutting it down the gouged out a huge chunk of the most beautiful part of the world of Gaia and instead left it with a gaping festering wound. So many people are heartbroken because of this for so many reasons.

It kind of sounds suspicious... how did nobody (staff member or hacker) find those "security vulnerabilities" before?

I heard of tentacl, but I thought it was just a scam, so I decided not to venture there.
Anyways, zOMG was superior when it came to the games. If only gaia would spend the money they "earned" to actually get better coders. I think it would be awesome if everyone just left and never came back, causing the site to lose money, and then they go out of business, to which they decide to work on zOMG and then send us e-mails and we come back and things were like the old days.

I feel the same.. with the amount of people who knew of gaia's existance and the number of hacker players I've come to meet over the past years.. it's very suspicious that a hacker WOULDNT have found these "coding holes" ..It's very suspicious. Honestly, if they couldnt repair zomg then they should have rebuilt it with their quote: "new technology" and s**t. not just give us this load of BS. If gaia wasn't dying before it sura as hell will be quick to go now. They better make something at least similar to zomg if they truely CAN'T bring it back. because that's the only reason most players even joined gaia.
~still very upset
