Personality:Independent, Stubborn, Sly
Yejide has never taken well to companionship in any form, whether it be family, friends or significant others. Her attitude toward life is one where she is better off alone, if only for the reason that others can't be relied on. She keeps to herself in all aspects and is slightly confrontational when dealing with others, with the small exception of her twin brother, Nkole. She's brash and stubborn to a fault. She knows what she wants and can't be changed either way. Her always-right attitude creates this overwhelming need to be sarcastic when others question her.
She's happy being nearly alone, though there are those occasional flickers of doubt. Her base needs as an earthling (since earthlings are social creatures by nature as she's well aware) can push her to sometimes doubt her choices to push away additional companionship. While she enjoys it most if the time, there are nights when she wonders if she would be happier sitting under the stars with someone beside her. These are usually the night that she's not with her brother and she hates to admit it but she misses him. And their parents.
History:Yejide was born a twin, coming into the world minutes after her brother Nkole. Their parents were ecstatic for the blessing of two children, but never pursued having any more after realizing what a handful the two twins were. Even as a young child, Yejide quickly began to cling to her brother and thought of him as her only friend, pushing most others away. Her father, Mej'ran, was a general for the Oban king, and thought of the blessing of two children as an opportunity to teach both of them the art of battle and war. Many afternoons were spent with weapons in her hands and the afternoons that she wasn't practicing against her brother, her mother, Lyaen, was trying to teach her to be more like a proper lady.
Yejide didn't take well to the pushing of her mother, and as soon as she was old enough to begin disappearing, she was gone. She would dodge her mother for something more interesting to her: thieving. At first it was small things just for fun, and she would return them to the owner, acting as if they had somehow dropped the item. Once she had moved on to living on her own and away from her parents, she began to steal in order to provide for herself.
Quirks: || Yejide is annoyed by people prone to twiddling with things. || Yejide is prone to lip-picking when worried. || After a long day, she'll let her dreads out of their bun and rub her scalp. || Having come from a desert, she likes to feel grass between her toes. || Yejide is prone to loss of appetite when emotional. || She is interested in any nature that doesn't resemble Oba. || Yejide is prone to nail picking. || She is fascinated with birds.
