Yejide had been in Jauhar for over a month now, wandering through the empty houses during the war and scouting for food. It was only after she had found out that the war had ended that she found the need to return farther west. She hadn't had contact with her brother Nkole since she had left home, and while she wouldn't say she missed him outright, this was the longest she had been away from him so far.

It was only her concern for his well being that had her returning west toward Neued. She stopped from returning completely to Oba after convincing herself that she could merely send a letter and that would be more than enough to let him know that she was fine. Her decision was only made the night before, so now she had to decide where she was going next. Further east? Maybe to find a familiar for herself? She lay in the grass wondering what fate would bring her next, her hair down and spread out around her and her feet bare.

With the outcome of the war being more or less a disaster, Nkole had been freed from his 'captured' status and allowed to go where he wanted. It was not only embarrassing to be not only captured but set free. Unable to meet the gaze of his fellow Obans he went into seclusion, only to rediscover his hatred for this jungle and it's a oohing inhabitants.

Not only were the animals large and carnivorous but e people who lived here were so varied it made him wonder how they hadn't ripped out their throats yet. Plus having lived comfortably for most of his young life he poor man was finding that he was having a hard time...adjusting to being self suficiiant. Hungry, tired and miserable he dragged himself to the closest village called Neued and wondered if he would be forced to steal to feed himself.

Tired he sat himself down on a log, for once concealing the knife with his family crest on it as he did t want to draw unwanted attention to himself. Although the people here seemed quite forgiving he also found they kept their distance only speaking to him if the absolutely had to. That was fin..he didn't need them. Just a warm meal, a bath and a good nights rest...

Yejide heard a body plop down nearby and immediately rolled over and onto her feet. She hadn't picked clean a house in this area yet, but she didn't want to be caught now if someone had come looking for her. Her eyes scanned the small clearing near the village, but there was nothing. Not this close at least.

Yejide dropped onto her bottom, sitting on the floor and gathering her shoes. She should keep moving, at least find her next meal. She pulled on her shoes, stood and tapped them into place. She would have to get new ones soon. These were wearing out from the tree bark. She sighed and pulled her bag onto her shoulder, starting closer to the town.

A familiar face caught her eye as soon as she got within view of Neued. Her first reaction was to hide behind a tree. It was another Oban. She had heard that they were moving into Neued now that the war was over, but this one could be looking to take her back still. But a second look and she knew who it was. Nkole. Did she approach?

She hesitated now, not knowing what to do, but then took another step into the clearing.

Sighing Nkole leaned back fro where he was sitting. Looking up at the canopy above and trying to not be Impressed by it. Stupid trees, why did they have to look so good when he was covered in sweat, in need of a luxurious bath and someone to massage his aching muscles. He could just go back home he supposed, but having no clue at his sisters whereabouts as well fearing his capture by the enemy had reached his fathers ears he was by all accounts too embarrassed to go home.

Covering his face with one hand he groaned, at least if he could find his sister then he could demand to know where she had been all this time. They had a plan, why didn't she stick to it? If she had just stuck to the plan perhaps this entire mess with him getting captured as well dragged into this war could od been avoided.

"Where are you Yejide....?" He muttered to himself as he had yet to realize that the very personnel was looking for was behind him.

Yejide stopped in her tracks at the mention of her own name. Did he know she was there? But he seemed to just be talking to himself. He couldn't know that she was there. She felt her shoulders relax and she smirked. Well she had made the decision, right? She was here for a reason.

"Right behind you." Yejide leaned on the back of his shoulders. "Miss me?" She swiped at his bun playfully. He was safe, he was alright. The war was over and he was fine. The words ran through her mind for a few minutes. She hadn't realized how much she had worried.

The young man nearly jumped out of his skin, and he would of if it wasn't for the fact that he was exhausted and just too tired to really react beyond slowly moving his head up to see his sister's face and blink at her. He wanted to get angry at her, for many reasons. One, she hadn't met at their designated meeting point, two the sheer frustration of him trying to find her.

But right now it just sunk in that he had FOUND her. She was safe, the war hadn't claimed her in the countless of hundreds of the dead. Half turning in a slow and awkward way he reached up and wrapped his arms around her. Though it may of seemed childish he couldn't help but feel an immeasurable amount of relief to have found her again. He could get angry at her later but right now he was just relieved to have found his sister safe.

"Your an idiot." He managed as he fixed his position so he could pretty much crush her in his embrace, burrowing his face in the crutch of her neck. Didn't she know how worried he was?

Yejide was surprised at the sudden heartfelt embrace, her arms held up by her sides before she let them return the hug. Was he really that worried for her? She supposed all the horrible thoughts of the war and what it could have done to Nkole could have very well been mirrored.

Yejide wrapped her arms around him tighter, sighing and leaning against her brother. "Mmmm... maybe. I couldn't stay in Oba." Her brows furrowed. She had been in too much trouble too soon. She had to get out, Nkole must have been able to see that. There's no way he wouldn't have known about what went down that day.

Nkole wanted to get angry at her, he had every right to be. After all they had a plan, and she didn't stick to it. He had been wandering around trying to find her, was kidnapped in the war and worried he would never find his sibling. Still it was hard to get really upset at her, okay just a little bit he could. especially when she mentioned she couldn't go back to Oba.

"That's not the problem! We had a plan Yejide! You were suppose to wait for me, and I've wandered around forever wondering if you were hurt or dead." He harshly chastised as he pushed himself from his sister's embrace.

"I know you can't go back, but that was never the intention right?"

Yejide listened to her brother's reprimanding and felt him shove her away, responding with a roll of her eyes. "Now who's the idiot?" She poked at him. "Even if I wanted to I couldn't have waited for you. There was a war going on. I had to keep moving." She puffed her cheeks and crossed her arms. She had no choice.

"But you're right, going back was never the plan." She pulled on one of her dreads and twirled it in her fingers.

she was silent for a moment, thinking over the past and what her life had come to. "So what're you going to do now? I'm thinking of going east." As far east as she could go. Now that the war was over, people were starting to come to terms with her kind. It was a slow start, but it was better than nothing, and better than a country that was out for her freedom.
