Let's welcome in the New Year together!Little handmade invitations were personally sent to any inhabited room and posted in the Lost Clans, inviting everyone to the school's auditorium to ring in the new year. There was no RSVP, it was simply there if you wanted to go. It promised music, food, a few games, a comfortable place to rest, and, of course, a giant TV so you can watch Halloweentown ring in the new year!
There was also a note in small font at the bottom of the card, saying you should probably bring a date for the obligatory new year kiss! Unless you think kisses are gross then, you know, don't bring one.

Welcome to the Party! The School Auditorium has been taken over to ring in the new year with style! The walls are decorated with streamers, there are helium balloons here and there for ample baby voice opportunities, and of course there are some things to do until the official count down! The StageThe projector screen has been lowered, turning the stage into a massive TV streaming live from Halloweentown Square. To the very left is a little DJ booth, and to the far right is a second booth, though this one is empty for now.Wishing TreeCome make a wish for the new year! If you're really lucky, and really good, it might come true! (Sandy Claws rules are in effect)Wheel GameSpin the Wheel for a chance at some neat prizes! The "Dance Floor"We say dance floor, but it could be anything. Any space in the middle that is open is fair game. You can stand and mingle, you can dance, you can sit on the floor and try to avoid getting stepped on...Pillow PileWho knows where they got all these pillows, but here they are, a nice comfortable place to rest and / or nap before the count down!Game CornerTVs and couches have been set up in the corner, along with various little game systems and multiple controllers for a little bit of gaming entertainment before the count down.Food TablesAlong both walls are long tables, littered with snacks and drinks. They are being watched though, so don't try to sabotage it. Or do, and see why SC dressed Alex up as a bouncer.Tables...?Yes, there are two long tables there too. They're just...there. Sit on them, or at them, or near them, or make a fort. Who knows, they're there, may as well use them while you can!

Wishing TreeEven if you ignore the lull of the pillows, or the call of the food, or the song of dance, you find yourself drawn to the tree...
Then again, it also probably didn't help that someone took your elbow and led you right to it, beaming proudly as they explained what it was for. If you had one wish for the New Year, what would it be? A boilfriend? Ghoulfriend? For someone to mysteriously set on fire? Whatever it is, write it on a piece of paper and tie it to one of the branches on this Wish Tree, and maybe it'll come true!
You may do this once per character, so make it a good one!How to:Simply post your character writing their wish and tying it to a branch for good luck! Please include the below code at the end of your post.

Spin the WheelOpposite the pillow pile lies a strange but innocuous pile of gifts ranging from small to medium, all in white boxes with pink ribbons; next to them is a large wheel. A gnome is standing guard with perhaps the most joyful expression one of their species had ever managed, though the students might have had to take a second look to make he actually was a gnome and not an escaped elf: he was decked out in a Sandy Claws outfit, had a red plum speared on his pointed nose, candy-striped socks, and funny pointed shoes that jingled with each movement. It quickly turns into a cacophony of Christmastivel cheer upon your approach.
"MARRY KISSMAS AND A NAPPY BLUE DEER!" he belts out before wildly gesturing with excitement at the spinning wheel. You might spy the floating minipets hovering near the pile, sniffing curiously for something. Then again, they grow pretty fuzzy once you're not looking, so it might just be your imagination . . .
OOC The Student Council has procured some festive items to help ring in the new year! Each character may take one present by rolling 1d8: 1. A mug decorated with something Christmas related! 2. An odd plant the gnome happily informs you is mistletoe! Or at least the Halloween, Fear-made equivalent at any rate. If the bearer points it at someone, the target becomes overwhelmed with the need to kiss the first person they see. This is a one time use item! 3. A piece of fruitcake! Upon opening the box, one of the pink elephants sniffs you out and hovers expectantly. For the rest of the night, you now have a minipet faithfully following you! (even if you happen to get rid of the food....) 4. Several festive blowouts to share! 5. One festive mask or hat 6. A bag that is labled "Minipet Poop", but which is in fact just marshmallows coated in chocolate sauce and sprinkles 7. A coupon to a store at the Maul listing a particular brand of items as 10% off 8. One large pair of 2014 glasses

Quote: NOW PLAYING: "Take Me Home" by Midnight Red Ren
Next Up: ???
A familiar gryphon stands behind the mixing table when you first walk in. In spite of the fact that he's recently graduated, Ren looks cheerful and happy to be back at Amityville, and gives everyone who passes by enthusiastic waves and shouts of greeting.
Maybe if you ask nicely, he'll even take some requests...

We would like to say:Through good and bad times we've made it another year together. Here's to the next! - From AymetIt's been one crazy year...but when aren't they a little strange? Thank you so much to the friends that have stuck by me through thick and thin, and also to the new friends who will hopefully do the same. I hope that all of our good fortunes may continue on well into this coming year. May all of our days be frightful and our nights full of terror! Happy New Year, everyone! - From AlexIt's been one heck of a year, but the Council is just getting started! Please be aware that the gnomes are not to be fed past midnight. Everything had been set up, and checked over, and double checked just in case. All that was left now was to keep Alex away from the food, and wait for some guests to arrive. Amrita passed the time by writing out her wish for the new year, and tying it to the tree as an example.
An endeavour halted as she spotted two suspiciously broken-doll faced gnomes in what were obvious fake beards. Augh. Those dolls. Those damned dolls.
"...Mort. I thought I said no!"

"Mrr?" Mort had just been overseeing that the spinning wheel was in place and not tampered with so that every spin resulted in mistletoe. As he looked up from scolding the gnome who had attempted to sabotage his machine, he saw his creations grinning through their beards at Amrita and had to hide a smile.
"Ghouls, leave Madame Vice Prez alone," he told them. The twin dolls giggled but obeyed, turning as one to skip towards the pillows instead. "No blaming, m'kay? They wanted t'celebrate too."

Something that looked suspiciously like a balled of piece of paper soared from over the DJ booth and promptly bonked Mort in the side of the head.

You better believe Jack was there.
Surprisingly not in any dresses. But, he was definitively full of sparkles, and if you were to touch him, you would get sparkles on him. He really liked sparkly things, okay?
-------------------------
Ashton, on the other side, was just meandering through the everything, taking in what he could. This was his first new years in what felt for ever, and he figured he would enjoy it. . .

Was it any real surprise that Jory arrived at the party incredibly early? No. Not it wasn't. The boil was notoriously awkward, even this long into his first year he still gave off a painfully obvious 'new guy' vibe. At least he'd managed to dress nicely for the occasion. Exchanging the more traditional looking clothing for something more fashionable. A button down shirt with the sleeves rolled up over his elbows, and a pair of dark jeans with the knees torn out. He was still barefoot. His hair was still pulled back to leave shorter bits framing eyes that were a touch too wide.
He lingered near the door, gaze flicking from the monster boil manning the dj booth to the few other students milling about. Council members, he would guess, familiar from pictures or descriptions.
Quite suddenly he wished he would have waited a bit longer before leaving his room. Maybe looked in on Nat to see if she was planning to attend. He really hoped she did. Anything to have kept him from being that awkward first guest. The one that very obviously didn't have anything resembling a social life.
Well.. maybe he wasn't the absolute first. A couple of other students had arrived pretty much at the same time as he had, though they seemed more at home. Less nervous.

"I thought you were going to decommission them after Prom." Amrita was very obviously pouting now, fidgeting by placing the pens and paper on the desk near the tree in neat order. Those dolls haunted her, and terribly so. Before she could say any more though, she noticed a group of boils entering the auditorium - yay, guests! The Patchwork dusted off her dress and crossed the room, ready to welcome the mostly unfamiliar group.
"Jack! Welcome." She didn't hesitate to give the boil a hug, and when she leaned back, she cast a smile to the other pair, as best as she could with half her face missing.
"And ~ New faces! My name is Amrita, and welcome to the party! I don't think I've met either of you...?" She trailed off, looking between both boils and extending a backwards hand to whomever felt like taking it first for a handshake.

Hel showed up, alone for now, because she liked doing the opposite of what things told her to do, plus the date she would bring had this aversion to school functions or whatever, and that was fine…
That was more than fine right this moment because right after someone accosted her upon entry and explained what the Wishing Tree was, she didn’t want anyone around anyways. She was a sucker for these things…okay? Okay. The Valkyrie gladly took up a piece of paper, and turned her back to those who had gathered so that she could write her wish in ‘private’. She knew exactly what she wanted to wish for, and maybe if she wished hard enough, it would come true! Sandy Claws didn’t deliver (the b*****d), so she was gonna try something else.
Hel lifted the pen to the paper, about to write her wish, but then paused, when a thought came to mind.
Well…there was something else she did want…and not as tame as simply mysteriously catching on fire…
She wanted Alex to burn in hell for all eternity.
But she only could get one…
Ugh.
The dilemma was clear on Hel’s face as she struggled with inner-turmoil about which she desired more…but in the end, one thing won out, since she was pining for this for forever…
But Alex would get what was coming to him. One day. Because there could be only one.
Hel quickly jotted down her wish, and hastily folded up her paper. She looked back and forth, trying to make sure no one was watching her while she tied it to the tree, and her behavior indicted she was very much worried about getting busted by someone…that’s also why she quickly turned around and skittered away from the Wishing Tree…
Only to get distracted by the food table before she got too far.
Dear Wishing Tree: I wish...to be married NOW From: Hel

A party meant dressing nice, right? Suzu had her hair up in a bun she did herself and a simple, casual dress. It wasn't like what she normally wore, so she tugged at it. Few students had arrived before her, but the DJ was already playing party-mood music. She knew no one at the school despite being here for a while already. She advanced towards the large opening between the two food tables, looking around for someone who might help her get more involved with the party.
