Unless otherwise stated, all events end on December 31st. Unless otherwise stated, all events will have their prizes awarded within the first few weeks of January 2014. If you have any questions about a contest/event, please read over the contest and contact School of Dedicated RPers or the contest holder. All prizes are awarded at the discretion of the SDRP staff. Many of the events have extra perks if you're involved in an active RP in the guild. Check them out and use this as an excuse to get active in the guild! Chatter in this thread is encouraged!

SDRP Holiday Art Spam 2013
We will lift off this event with art! Whether it is a beloved OC or a treasured avatar, we all have things we wouldn't mind having drawn for us. Here a collection of guild artists have assembled to practice their skills and to spread the holiday cheer. For more information, read on!
How to get art: Participate in the event and this thread! Some artists have special requirements to get art, so please have a look below and make sure you follow all the guidelines.

Mule Dressup/Tektek Contest
The mule needs a new pair of shoes and a new look this holiday season! Can you give him a makeover?
Announcements: December 25, 2013: the contest is now over and judging has been completed! The winners are listed below and in this post. The mule is now decked out in the avatar designed by SubaruSayuri. Thank you for everyone's participation and both place and consolation prizes will be sent out shortly! December 21, 2013: due to a lack of entries, the deadline for the contest will be extended until December 23. In light of this, only the 1st place position will have their outfit worn by the mule.

Between December 15 and 17, you will receive a PM from School of Dedicated RPers (the guild mule) with the username of the person who you've been randomly selected to buy a gift for.
Once you've received the PM, you must buy a gift that you think your recipient would like. Gifts must be worth at least 30k, either in store price or marketplace value, and you can buy up to three separate gifts for him/her as long as the three items total up to a value that is at least 30k. You must have the gift(s) ready by December 23 at the absolute latest.
DO NOT send your gifts to your recipient. Instead, forward your gifts in a trade to School of Dedicated RPers no later than the 23. In the subject heading, write "Secret Santa" and the username of the person you've been assigned. This is to ensure that everyone receives the gifts and that the gifts satisfy the price range.
I'll keep track of the gifts and on Christmas you'll receive wrapped gift(s) from School of Dedicated RPers. The giftboxes will have a note in them that says who your Secret Santa was.
That's it. Let the merry-making begin!

Happy holidays, everyone! I'm taking the pleasure to host a special holiday Gaia Gold raffle/giveaway. Here's how it works:
1) You comment in this thread, and I will give you a number.
2) I will add your name to my master list. Keep up with your numbers, they're important! biggrin
3) I keep track of the numbers. On the due date, I will randomly draw THREE numbers from a hat.
1st number drawn: You get 100k in Gaia gold! 2nd number drawn: You get 50k in Gaia gold! 3rd number drawn: You get 10k in Gaia gold!
Sounds fun, right? There are only a few rules to remember: 1. Don't change your raffle number with somebody else's. 2. You may enter one time per day. Holiday Writing Contest
We all have different tastes, am I right? Well, here's something that very well may interest some of you writers! This is a Holiday Writing Contest. How fun!
Your Task: To write an essay/story about the holidays. It can be fictional or nonfiction. This also includes sub-genres like historical fiction, si-fi, etc. Do what makes you comfortable!
Guidelines:
We ask that your essay/story be at least 2 pages long (or more), with the maximum of 1,000 words. Exceptions may be provided directly from me. (But it'd be your job to contact me about your issue!) If you are writing fiction and there is any background information you can give us, please feel free to send those in with your entry. It helps us understand your character more. In nonfiction, please give background information (if any) of the person that you're writing about. Keep ideas original. In fictional setting, please don't use another user/person's character without their permission. <>

and now the moment you've all been waiting for... How To Enter: 1. Post your entry into the SDRP Holiday Writing Contest Entries threadhere.
2. On December 23rd, I will present the current entered writings to the judge pannel. You may submit until December 29th, 3013, but we will start the judging on the already submitted stories before that.
3. On December 31st, 2013, we will announce the winner of the contest. Please, do not argue that you should have deserved to win. Accept that the judges made their choice and all decisions are final.
Prizes: The winner will recieve 150k in Gaia gold, and free avatar art! (Avatar artist to be determined later...) Two runner ups may be chosen, which means you will both recieve 30k a piece. (Please know that this is a completley optional place and may not be used in the actual judging.)

I have taken the liberty to hide some snowflakes around the guild. Your job is to hunt around in some forums and the topics they contain until you find a picture of a snowflake. Then, you are to record the location, the page number, and the post number of where the snowflake was hidden in your journal. Your journal entry must be private or else I will disqualify you immediately. I will be checking everyone's journal who is participating. If I have any access at all to it, then you will be disqualified. There are fifteen snowflakes hidden throughout the guild.
Once you find all of the snowflakes hidden throughout the guild, you are to PM all of the locations and page numbers to me. If you have found all of them, I will give you a prize. The hunt will begin on December 1st, and will end on January 1st. To enter, please fill out the form below!

PM Requirements
In order to receive your prize for completing the scavenger hunt, you must follow these guidelines or else you have not completed the scavenger hunt.
First, you must title your PM "SDRP Scavenger Hunt Snowflake Locations". If Your PM must have that exact title, or I will deem it spam, and it will be deleted from my inbox. Second, there is a specific way for you to format the locations of the snowflakes. This makes everything easier for me and you. The proper way to format your locations is ""Topic Title, Page Number, Post Number". That way, I don't have to decline your offer because I don't know if you have the right location or not. You will get your prizes much faster because I don't have to spend as much time wondering if you have the correct location or not.
Rules and Guidelines
If you would like to participate in the holiday scavenger hunt, there are a few rules that you must follow. They're not too harsh.
- There is no cheating allowed! If I find out that you are cheating, I will disqualify all parties that are involved.
- Do not post any sort of hints or locations of where the snowflakes are. Doing so, will get you disqualified. I will then have to move all of the locations of the snowflakes that were just given away.
- Only do the scavenger hunt under one account. If you are using any sort of mule account or an alias account, you will be disqualified.
- Make sure that your journal entry is private! Again, if I have any access to it at all, you will be disqualified, and I will have to find new places for all of the snowflakes. Then, when all of the other participants are ticked off, that's not my problem.
- To prove that you have read these rules, please include a gaia_diamond when submitting a PM with all of the locations.
Prizes
I have a whole bunch of different prizes that I'm willing to give out to you all. Here are the ones for being the first, second, or third person to complete the scavenger hunt.
1st Place - 250K 2nd Place - 200K 3rd Place - 150K
There will be prizes for people who complete the scavenger hunt after the prizes for first, second, and third are given out.

This section will include all of the scavenger hunt winners. Their rank will be determined however, their prize will not be mentioned. More ranks will be added as the next person completes the scavenger hunt.

Wall of Shame
The Wall of Shame includes all of the members that have been disqualified from the hunt for breaking the rules. Tsk, tsk.

This counts as a snowflake. Please record the location, page number, and post number in your journal. The correct format will be "SDRP Winter Scavenger Hunt, Page # 1, Post # 1". The number signs are not necessary however, you may add them if you wish.

Welcome to Dumpling's Holiday Bakery!
Here's how this will work...
Hello everyone! I'm Dumpling! Welcome to my holiday bakery! For the holidays, I'll be giving away free food art! I'll be focusing more on baked goods, but regular food art can be given away as well. All you need to do is fill out an order form, and I will put you on the waiting list. When your food is ready, I will send it to you in a PM. Be aware, I am using Microsoft Paint.
I will be running this bakery from December 1st until January 1st. If this turns out to be a success, then I might ask Watervoir if I can bring this back. The order form is located below!

Okay, so I know my art isn't the best out there. Anyway, the first sample is a cake sample, the second, are some cookies, and the last sample is some pudding.
Redo Policy
If you do not like the art that has been given to you, just say so! If you would like a redo, just tell me what you didn't like and what you liked, so I can improve it. I will only be doing one redo per order. I will not be doing multiple redos for the same order. I am still accepting feedback even if you like your art.

BUT FOR THE REST OF YOU HUMANS! The task has been set.
But wait, I've decided to throw another curve at you lot. Your art should be related to a roleplay. As this is a roleplay guild of course! The Roleplay you base your artwork on must be related to the SDRP. It makes sense, as this is the Guild Contest. Either or, gold is gold, is it not? You'll be winning some after all.
