Personality: Chloe has a bold and kind heart. Even though she shines on stage now her old habits of being shy and hiding in the shadows still occasionally peek out. Mostly she does not hesitate to speak her mind and once she has her heart set on something nothing will stop the determined girl. She still has her stubborn moments and can give anyone a fair amount of sarcasm and sass, but being in the spotlight has really given her a shine. Crowds seem to energize the performer, but behind the scenes it seems that she's wearing out?

Physical fights make her extremely nervous and occasionally she can get so startled or scared that she'll burst straight into tears.

Background: As a scatterbug she lived on her own in the forest until a small child helped her out one day. When she woke up as a human she remembered how she had loved being named 'Chloe' and so took on the name while moving to find her friends.

Stubbornly though she wanted to refuse their help and tried to live in the forest still despite her new form. Then even when she wanted to go back to her childhood friends she found that their home was left empty with no trace of either boy...But after an accident in the city Chloe was found by the Madame who took her in under her wing. Now she's starting onto the stage and has found that dance and song really aren't so hard for her after all~

Behind the scenes though she still sticks to her lone ways and has a rather sorrowful expression when she's fiddling with a metal pin that she's had since being a child...

Lives: In the City~

Journal Entry 1

Crawling away from her usual hiding spots in the forest trees the scatterbug watched the bright world with huge eyes. Everything was so beautiful today! Sunlight was sparkling on flowers and on the streams while there was a group of grass and bug pokemon dancing about. She sighed wistfully as a group of bellossom danced about happily. Her little body wiggled as she climbed her way up a tree branch to watch. It wasn’t too breezy today…but rather just right. So as she watched them the little pokemon got inspired to try something herself.

String shot allowed the scatterbug to hang there from the branch and as the bellossom moved in the meadow the pokemon, herself, began to swing slowly back and forth on her string. Back and forth. Smiling happily the scatterbug let out a bell sounding laugh as she closed her eyes. It was like a swing that allowed her to dance too! Her little legs wiggled happily as she continued to spin around. The happiness split a moment later as a sudden gust of wind surprised the pokemon. “Oh!”

Spinning she found herself caught in her own string. Struggling the little scatterbug couldn’t move so she stayed there swinging back and forth on the low branch with a pout. How long would it take for her to work her way out of this mess? The thought made her teary eyed. But if she cried then Kyllian would certainly get after her! Sniffing she tried to hold back her usual stream of tears. Crying wouldn’t help…

Sighing the scatterbug closed her eyes and just allowed the wind to rock her to sleep. It was only a few minutes later that the meadow grew suddenly quiet as humans walked through. The scatterbug felt her body moving as a pair of small hands tugged at her. In shock the pokemon just stared at the small pigtailed girl who tore the string from her body, “Chloe! Chloe~”

Chloe? The scatterbug stared back at the little girl as her body was freed from its hanging position. What? The girl just beamed at her before placing her gently back on the branch, “Chloe~ Mommy look it’s a Chloe!” She looked back towards the woman who had been taking pictures in the meadow.

“No honey, that’s a scatterbug.”

The girl pouted and shook her head, “Chloe!”

The woman laughed and patted the small child’s head, “Chloe alright then.” Amusement warmed her hazel eyes before she watched the girl cling to the startled bug, “You shouldn’t randomly grab wild pokemon though…” She frowned as the girl reached back towards the bug.

“Chloe!”

“Yes, yes Chloe.” Still the woman kept her grip on her daughter’s hand, “Let’s leave Chloe here alright? She probably will be happier out here and not stuck in your classroom all day.”

“Bu-But”

“I’ll get you some ice cream too.”

“Tay!” Laughing the little girl waved towards the scatterbug, “See ya again sometime, Chloe!”

Blinking the scatterbug just watched as the two figures moved away from her sight. Tilting her head she just stared some more. What had just happened? Still one thing did linger about the little girl. Chloe. It was a nice word…a pretty name.

It was a clear night when the scatterbug decided to go out and about to explore. Really she was hoping to find one of the boys, but so far there was no sign of them. Pouting she had decided she would be bold enough to go out on her own. No fears! That was how she should be right? Bold and like a bigger pokemon instead of hiding away all the time? The small pokemon nodded to herself before moving her way further through the meadow. Everything was so pretty at night with the late rains from that afternoon leaving glimmering drops on the grass blades. She licked a drop of water before laughing softly.

Oooh?

Looking up the pokemon stared up at the skies. The stars were so pretty! She beamed up at them. It would be nice if she could have a presence as bright as one of those stars. Instead she was just a small scatterbug that lived in the shadows of the forest. Images of the things that had happened lately, meeting Kyllian and then the strange encounter with the small girl, flashed through her mind. It would be nice if she could be bold and open like them. If she could have the strength to do things…even just having grace like a bellossom would be amazing. Something to make her really feel like a Chloe and not a scatterbug.

Chloe. The scatterbug smiled as the name rang through her mind, “I wanna be a Chloe.” It would be nice to actually be something then. Her gaze dropped back to the clear water of the stream and she stared at the scatterbug’s reflection who was looking back at her. She was just a bug after all. A small, weak, and easily disregarded creature…

She didn’t like that at all though! She wanted to shine, to be someone strong! So that she could make her friends proud and not be a hindrance…Kyllian probably found her a hindrance after all. Her gaze dropped before a chiming sound whistled through the air. What was that? Gaze widening the scatterbug let out a sharp “Eeep!” before the brilliant star flashed before her eyes and caused her to black out.

Response to Growth

It was the sound of running water which greeted her when she finally woke. Groaning Chloe’s eyes flickered open against the faint light of dawn. Why was everything suddenly so bright? Shivering against the cold of the water the scatterbug moved her legs away from the damp where she had rolled into the creek. Yawning sleepily she stretched her pale fingers across her mouth before scooting further back into the grasses. How odd that she wasn’t drowning by now or that she could easily see over top of the grass…gasping she ripped the fingers away from her mouth and just stared at them. What was this? Turning her hand slowly in the rising sunlight she just stared at the pale flesh with wide eyes. This wasn’t right. This was not her hand! She tried to wiggle back away from the water even quicker before stumbling over her own legs. Her legs! She had just two long pale things attached to her body which shook as she pushed herself from the ground and attempted to stand. This was how humans moved right?

Falling forward she barely caught herself in time to stare at the rippling reflection before her. A human girl, just slightly older than the girl from yesterday, stared back at her. Blinking she watched as she blinked and then boldly she reached out to touch the water and watched as even though it had moved away the same reflection came right back. “I’m…I’m…” Her hands went around her throat as the formation of words, not poke language, escaped her lungs, “Human.” Amazement filled her expression before a wide smile formed there. She was human! A human! A Chloe? She blinked at the water’s surface, “I can be Chloe now!”

But she was a very cold Chloe. Feeling a cold breeze against her naked body the girl wrapped her arms tightly around her stomach. She had to move and find someplace warm, someplace safe…but what was safe anymore? She couldn’t live in the nook of the trees that she so favored now. She had never seen humans do that after all…and they also wore things. Blinking down at her pale skin Chloe shivered once more. She needed to find stuff to wear! Else she would freeze to death…gasping she moved forward and stumbled around on both her hands and knees until she got her body stable enough to wobble forward on just her two feet.

Feet, such a strange word. Giggling Chloe darted through the trees and towards the path leading to the town. Could she really blend in there now? Fear flickered in her eyes before she finally took a forced step. She had to do something! It wasn’t like she could just go through the forest path and wiggle beneath some leaves to sleep in. The thought made her smile. It would be an interesting sight for any to see something like her trying to do such an act.

Another sharp breeze reminded her of her first need and Chloe had to clench her shattering teeth before a yell got her attention. Further up the path where the trees thinned and the road widened was something tossing through the wind. Seeing the fabric flying around a hopeful idea formed and Chloe suddenly darted out from the tree. She was just in time as the old ragged blanket landed on the ground and before it could dart upwards again she wrapped her arms around it. “Gotcha!” Smiling brightly at her accomplishment Chloe draped it around her as a makeshift dress before glancing again towards town.

Time to explore and find some real things to wear. Maybe even food too…the grumble from her stomach made her wince. Maybe Kyllian and Kole would know what to do. She wanted desperately to run towards them to find them and seek answers from her dear friends, but at the same time she was eager to explore more of this new world, of her new self. After all she wanted to be more confident of herself in this new form rather than bursting out into tears with her friends. Kyllian would hate it after all…

“I’ll wander around a bit …and then find them.” Nodding she started out towards town.

Child Stage; AIM PD- Kole Visits~!:

Kole was wandering the woods again. He'd been feeling cooped up in the house lately, and wanted the freedom of the forest for a bit. He loved living with Kyllian, but being so close to the humans all the time... That wasn't as nice. It was stressful, to say the least, and the open air was just what he needed.

As the sun flickered through the leaves a figure danced through the trees of the forest. Ever so graceful the girl made certain to avoid any roots or vines blocking the forest paths. It was strange to think that when she first changed she had been so awkward about this...or that for the matter she had changed at all. Thankfully she hadn't been alone in it.

Kyllian....Kole.

As Chloe slowed her movements she rested a small hand against the tree bark. She was glad that Kyllian had found Kole and that the two of them were living together, but she was still so stubborn about things. Occasionally she would drop in for the required meal before going on her own again. And she still hadn't even found what she was looking for.

Her own way to shine in the world.

Though admittedly being alone in the forest had given her plenty of time alone to be creative by dancing as she saw others do and to even sing softly through the trees. Something about the actions really filled her with happiness...and maybe one day if she was ever caught the girl could turn it into something bigger. Not that the thought ever crossed her mind of course. Instead she kept to her shadows and enjoyed life quietly from others minus those she ran into and her two best friends.

It was at that moment that Chloe began to listen closely. Was someone walking nearby in the woods?

In the woods, Kole could close his eye and just listen. The sky, the wind in the grass and trees, the singing birds. No more was the air filled with the chatter and noise of humans yelling and calling and stomping. Such a delight! He could remember being a regular pokemon out here. He realized.. he couldn't remember being alone though. He had always had his friends in his mind. ..Another nice reminder from the woods.

Rounding some bushes that edged the narrow path he was on, he was shocked to see someone else already out here. Immediately, he smiled. "Hi, nymph!" he said cheerfully. He'd read about nymphs in a book once. Fairy creatures rarely seen. Graceful, shy, flitting about mysteriously.
That was Chloe.

Chloe had braced herself to run away from any stranger that was appraoching her. Instead though her expression of defense turned into one of surprise then delight, "Kole!" Bouncing over the rest of the way the girl gave no hesitation as she wrapped her arms around her friend, "Hey!"

His name registered with her for a second, "Nymph?" Chloe blinked at him in confusion before shaking her head, "What are you doing out so far in the forest?" She paused for a second and then thoughtfully scanned the trees, "Kyllian didn't send you after me did he?" Was he really still being so persistant with her permanently moving in?

Kole laughed and happily embraced his friend. "It feels like it's been forever!" Stepping back, he looked Chloe over briefly. She was still all in one piece. Good! Her question made him c**k his head, and he gave her a small smile. "No, he didn't. It’d be nice to have you there, but I know you'll come to us when you need to and when you're ready." He looked up at the trees and sighed. "I just wanted to get out for a bit. Too many humans in town."

Chloe laughed softly, "It's not been that long, silly." She really was so glad to find Kole. After days of thinking some horrible thing had happened to the sweet pumpkaboo...then to find him changed just like her and Kyllian was a relief. An awkward, but much wanted relief.

"Mmm." She just nodded thankfully, "Thanks, Kole." The last time she had stopped by she had ended up running away once more from her friends' side for fear of relying on him too much once more. She wanted to find herself on her own after all...

Tilting her head Chloe paused thoughtfully, "A break from humans?" Suddenly her gaze brightened, "Would you want to go somewhere with me then?" Her gaze gleamed hopefully. She had wanted to ask the boys come with her, but she hadn't the heart to approach Kyllian still yet.

"It's a really pretty place if you want to relax, but sometimes going there on my own gets lonely."

Kole chuckled and shrugged. "Feels like it." Seeing his friend only once in a while, when she chose to come to the house or he bumped into her like this, the time between visits always seemed to stretch out longer and longer. They each were looking for something though, and they had to find that something their own ways.

Pointed ears perked at Chloe's offer, and he lit up eagerly. "It sounds great! Where are we going?"

Pausing Chloe looked back at Kole before offering a soft smile, "Hey well then..." She hesitated only a moment before putting a hand on Kole's shoulder. She did miss the boys too after all, "Maybe one day we'll see each other a lot more often. Just don't tell Kyllian I said that." Laughing softly she turned away and moved back towards the trees.

"An area that humans don't really know about. I happened to stumble on it one day." Waving over her shoulder Chloe moved through the trees, "This way~"

Perking up again, he smiled gratefully. "That's be great! The place would be more fun with you around, too." His little wings fluttered, and he held up his hand. "Promise!"

Following after Chloe, he felt the excitement grow. A secret place! That was one of the things he missed about living in the forest.

Despite the knot in her stomach Chloe just smiled. Even if the promise might take a long time to go through at least it made Kole happier for now. Seeing the boys sad was the last thing she ever wanted to do, "You better." She teased before going on again.

Going through the trees Chloe kept twisting and turning until finally she slid down a small crevice between some rocks. Emerging she looked around at the small area before them. A little waterfall ran down the dip creating a pool with plenty of space to linger around if not swim a bit, "Welcome to my little haven."
"Care to swim?" Grinning Chloe slipped from the ground and into the cool pool.

"A promise is a promise," he said with a playful pout. As if he would ever break a promise!

Squeezing through the rocks, his eyes widened in awe. "It's wonderful~" he breathed, jaw slightly slack. The trees were high enough to shade the area for his taste, and the plants were green with life. He slowly approached the water though, ears twitching. "I.. don't know how." He'd never dared to jump into deep water as a pokemon, and hadn't had the chance to try as he was now.

"Aww Kole." Chloe looked at him with a slight frown, "I forgot that clothing weighs you down too..." Her own outfit was of a small shirt and shorts which didn't weigh much even with water. Those coveralls though...

"But we can just do a mini lesson since the water over here isn't too deep." Splashing around him she patted the water's surface and watched the ripples scare away some little fish, "Pull breath in and swallow it to your belly." She flushed lightly, "That sounds weird but if you do that the air helps you float."

Kole looked down at his clothes with irritation. "The clothes are doing this?" Without another thought, he pulled himself to hook the root with one arm and used his other to unhook and slip out of the overalls, left in his shirt and undershorts. She was just a friend of his. No biggie, right? He tossed the pants to the grass and smiled. Hey, he did feel lighter! As told, he pulled in air and swallowed. Ooh that felt weird... but it was working! Kole grinned as his body began to lift from the sandy bottom. He was floating!

Flushing lightly Chloe looked away before blinking back at Kole, "So it helped?" Smiling she watched as he started to float, "That's how it goes!" Stretching out her limbs the girl swam around him.

"Then after you get used to floating you just kick your legs to move forward with your arms helping as well." Twisting in the water she demonstrated the moves before smiling towards Kole, "Easy-peesy."

He couldn’t help but to smile proudly at Chloe’s praise. He was floating! His bright eyes were locked on Chloe as she moved through the water. Kole took a deep breath before letting go of the root. He was still floating! Okay.. next step. Kole kicked his legs and moved his arms, and managed to sink below the surface. He flailed a little before he could pull himself above the surface and gasped for air, grabbing for the root again. “It didn’t work,” he gasped out, blushing warmly. Chloe made it look so easy.

Watching Kole reemerge Chloe laughed softly, "You flailed silly!" The girl splashed towards him more at ease now after seeing Kole catch himself. That was one good thing about water...even with her small size she could manage to move others in it. Something she could never do on land with her petite body. Anyone would crush her.

"But you just have to take it easy Kole. A little bit at a time." She smiled and tucked a wet bang behind her ear, "What is it that they say? Practice....makes...it go?" She scrunched up her nose a little bit, "Oh! Practice makes perfect."

Blushing more, Kole kicked his legs to experiment. Okay. He could push himself around with his legs. But... biting his lip, he looked at the root he clutched so tightly. Chloe was right. Practice was all he needed. He watched her swim about a little more before daring to release the roots again. Once more, he sank below the surface, but this time he kicked his legs in a cleaner fashion, and swung his arms to pull himself back to the surface. He took a deep gasp of air, and grinned as he paddled a few feet. "Look, Chloe! Look!"

As Kole started swimming Chloe beamed, "Oh!" Grinning the scatterbug applauded her friend, "I knew you could do it Kole!" Slipping through the waters she pulled up next to him, "But can you survive what's next?" Her gaze turned mischevious as she scooped up some water and splashed it towards him.

"Splash attack!"

Laughing Chloe moved back to playfully prepare for her next attack.

It was a doggie paddle, but he was moving and not sinking! Kole was quite proud of himself.

He let his feet drop when Chloe's question came up, finding he could touch the bottom there, and yelped with a laugh as the water came at him. Giggling, he scoop up a handful of water and splashed back. When had he last been able to have fun like this with Chloe? He couldn't wait to have Kyllian here as well. One big splash party!

As Chloe sent back her own waters of attack the girl smiled. It really had been a while since she could feel so free around a friend like this. Maybe...just maybe then Kyllian had a point. It really was better to have friends than to be so alone...

Perhaps then she would reconsider the whole idea of the house.

Maybe...just maybe.

But for now...

"Attack!" Laughing Chloe dove into the water to enjoy the rest of the day with her best friend.

Meeting Riley~

Red eyes even more red than usual, Riley sat hunkered down in a field of wild flowers. Not even the cool breeze and the sounds of the birds could ease his hurt though. Another family fight... They were becoming more and more frequent as of late... He sniffled and rubbed his nose along his sleeve, and then grimaced at the now sticky clothing. Eww...

Usually Chloe preferred to ignore strangers in the forest, but after staring for a while towards the boy she felt her heart weaken. Was something wrong? Her gaze softened as she looked at his distressed state. I guess I really am weak when it comes to these things. Sighing the scatterbug emerged from the trees to tiptoe lightly behind Riley, "Are...are you alright?"

Trying to wipe his sleeve on a nearby fern while still sniffling, Riley yelped and jumped up at the sound of the voice behind him. Oh... He rubbed at his eyes and shook his head. “N-not really,” he admitted. “M-my father... said he’d dis-disown m-me if I di-disappoint-t him again.” He ducked his head and rubbed his face onto his sleeve. “I-I can’t do an-anything right! All I had t-to do was d-duel m-my cousin and not let-let my family down. Th-they challenged m-me because they know...” His face burned bright and he shook his head. “I-I’m not strong like them.. Even after changing like th-this.” He looked over at the girl and ducked his head back down. “S-sorry.”

"Ah." Chloe's gaze was kind as she looked towards Riley, "Well maybe you aren't meant to fight then." She commented quietly as she blinked towards the other poke-human, "Can't your dad understand that?" She didn't really understand the concept of family, but Kyllian had never disowned her for not liking fights. She absolutely despised violence after all...

Still she crossed her arms, "Are you thinkin' that cryin' like this will help though?" The scatterbug nodded slowly, "If you aren't strong like them...can't you just try to become stronger so you can beat them one day?" She bit her bottom lip thoughtfully, "Unless you hate violence too...then you should prove to them that there's other things that make you stand out! Right?" She smiled, "Can't your dad be proud of you for other things?"

Riley blinked at Chloe through his tears in shock. She.. wasn’t laughing at him? “Father only understands fighting. We-we’re riolu, after all.”

He flinched from her question, and ducked his head yet again. He couldn’t even face this girl... Unless he hated violence? His gaze shot up, and his lip quivered. “I don’t like fighting! At all! But that’s all my family does! Duel and fight and win medals and make everyone proud of them.” He sniffled again. “I don’t have anything to be proud of... I don’t want to stand out or be the best at anything. I just... wanna be me.” He sighed softly, tears still welling up but his voice stabilizing. “I know that sounds silly... Everyone always has a plan for bigger and better things. I feel like the only one who doesn’t sometimes.”

Hearing that made Chloe sigh sadly. Why couldn't some just understand that the whole world wasn't about fighting. She absolutely refused to participate in it. Nope, nope, never! Her hands went to her hips as she shook her head, "Just because you're a riolu doesn't mean you should all fight!" She pouted, "After all I'm just a scatterbug...does that mean I'm just supposed to get squished all the time?"

They couldn't help who they were born as, but they could choose their future right?

"Hey...hey now." Chloe's voice softened as she reached out and touched the boy's shoulder, "I think fighting isn't fun either..." She scrunched up her mouth thoughtfully, "Then what's wrong with being just you?" The scatterbug shook her head, "I'm sure your dad won't actually disown you! Maybe he's just worried cause he thinks that fighting is the only way a riolu can live...but it's not! You're special after all already." She smiled, "You've changed too and that's special...plus maybe you can prove to your dad that you're fine just being you. He shouldn't have to worry so much as long as you can prove to him that fighting isn’t the only thing a riolu can do."

She shook her head, "Plus I'm tiny...I always hid in the shadows and I still don't know what I'm doing. I'm sure that you just haven't found it yet...but there surely is something out there that you'll definitely shine at!"

Riley couldn’t believe his little glowing ears. Someone who.. felt the same way that he did about fighting! About being yourself! About... He brushed at his eyes again. “Me being me is what’s wrong. I’m not like my family at all... and they don’t like that. It was bad enough when I was a pokemon and didn’t like fighting, but now... they don’t even see me as one of them anymore. My brother says I’m one wussy point away from being cut off from the family. I know he’s mostly just being a jerk, but...”

Of course, despite all his fears and doubts, the young riolu was still a dreamer. Having this little scatterbug girl tell him he could still find his spark to show his parents who he was, he couldn’t help the extra bit of light returning to his eyes. “You really think so?” He reached to his shoulder to take Chloe’s hand. “You’re really brave, you know? I’m sure you’ll find what you are, too!”

Chloe frowned, "That's silly of them. Family is family no matter what! I mean...I have two friends who might as well be family and even though we can be very different at times and spat we still care about each other." She shook her head in disbelief, "I highly doubt that your brother is right. Sounds like he's just being a butt to ya."

"Of course I do!" Chloe smiled before flushing at the touch, "Thank you..." She paused shyly, "Brave? I wouldn't say that...but I'm glad." Her smile brightened, "You've really seemed to have gotten your spirit back~ That's good."

Riley nodded. “I wish they could see that... Maybe I’ll be able to show them one day, like you said!” He smiled sadly. “Yeah, my brother likes to pick on me a lot. I guess I’m an easy target.” He looked up and brightened his smile. “But I won’t always be! He’ll see! I’ll do.. something.” Giggling, he couldn’t help pulling Chloe into a hug. “Because of you. Thank you. I.. should get home now. My trainer will be worried. He’s my friend, and my family, too.” He turned to go, but then spun back. “Oh! What’s your name? Mine’s Riley! ..I hope I can see you again sometime.”

"One day I'm sure they will!" Chloe smiled brightly, "Until then you've got this!" The little scatterbug was always full of optimism. After all wasn't it her own goal to find her own light into this world one day? Surely if she could make it then Riley would as well, "Good luck!"

Flushing at the hug she nodded, "You're welcome." The girl waved loosely, "Riley? I'm Chloe! Hopefully we will see each other again!" His comment about his trainer rang true with her...would Kyllian and Kole be worried about her? Maybe...I'll swing by home after all now. Humming softly under her breath Chloe turned and as her newest friend left she too faded into the shadows beneath the trees.

Dancing in the Moonlight~

Glittering starlight lit the stream as the girl moved about. Thankful for the brilliant moonlight which shined throughout the forest Chloe used each flickering moment to find her way. The path wasn’t hard though as she had dashed through here plenty of times before. Each time she felt that her legs were getting stronger and her balance better. This was proven in the fact that she could easily glide from rock to log now. It was a fun feeling being able to move so quickly that along with the blowing wind it felt almost as if she were really flying. Still the sharp impact of the ground each time with her toes brought her back down to reality. It was saddening for her to feel the ground beneath her toes again when the feeling of being in the air was so amazing. Chloe continued jumping as if maybe the next jump would keep her in the air rather than dropping her back…

Anyone watching, however, may have mistaken the girl for an actual spirit dancing about in the woods. But as hard as Chloe worked at dancing the girl never tried to actually show her skill to anyone since after all she was just a shy scatterbug. Instead she sang to the trees and to the crisp water that she loved swimming in. Funny though how her voice secretly brought the pokémon in the area to watch her as she played about in the woods she never realized it as she was lost in the moment. Perhaps it was how alone she looked that really entranced viewers because the girl truly looked as if she belonged in a different world.

For someone shy she definitely did attract attention.

Twirling and spinning Chloe jumped over fallen branches and stray roots that littered the faint forest path. It really was fun to move like this! Laughing she let out the sweetest bell noises before finally resting her body against a tree, “That…was fun.” Breathing heavily Chloe wiped the beads of sweat from her forehead, “Slowly…but surely…”

Even though she tried her best to stick to the forest and stay away from the city the girl had found her steps taking her that way one day. There she had stared from the sidewalk into a dance studio. It had been awe inspiring to see those dancers moving inside there. Her face flushed lightly at the memory. She wished she could be that good one day…but who knows? Her hand strayed lightly towards where a music note rested, “Maybe this blessing is a sign?” Could she one day have the talent to belong in the music world?

Nah. Chloe laughed at the thought, “I would die before I let someone watch me dance~” With that the scatterbug pushed away from the tree to start walking some more. Maybe though tomorrow evening she would find a way to sneak back into the city streets where that studio was. It wouldn’t hurt to watch them some more, right?

After all she was just a curious scatterbug and nothing more.

Chloe learns protect!

The day had started out beautifully with a warm sunlight flickering through the trees and a playful wind tugging at her hair. Now, however, Chloe could think of nothing besides running. The poor scatterbug had accidentally made the mistake of coming along a gang of teens who were bullying another. Needless to say they didn’t appreciate a pacifist trying to interfere. I was just worried about the girl… Tears stung at the back of her eyes as she found herself backed into a corner.

Kyllian….Kole… The girl silently screamed as they began to approach her. What would she do without her friends to defend her? “I don’t fight!” Chloe protested as one girl raised their fists towards her.

“Don’t fight, eh?” One of the girls grinned mischievously, “What if you had no choice?”

“Being a pacifist is so stupid…”

“She’s a poke-human surely she knows how to fight well!”

“I do call bullshit on her innocent act…”

“Letting that girl get away when we were teachin’ her a lesson too…”

Chloe winced as rough hands shook her shoulder, “Hey! You said not to hurt Rachel so we can take it out on you right?” The brunet smirked wickedly, “After all she deserved the lesson we were trying to give her.”

The scatterbug frowned, “Sounds more like you were just gangin’ up on her.” Chloe didn’t know if it was because she was cornered like this that she was suddenly being more bold or if it was the adrenaline rushing through her veins that made her continue talking. But she absolutely despised bullies like this!

That was why when she had seen the poor girl on the ground broken and crying that she had thrown herself between the gang of girls so that the one could run away. A soft thank you was all Chloe needed from the one as she disappeared. Now though she wished she had thought about things a bit before just charging in there. It was hard running away after all when you were in the outskirts of town. Had this happened in the woods she would have easily slipped through the trees. The forest was her haven after all.

“Shut up!” The girl’s hand cracked against Chloe’s face and the scatterbug fell backwards, “You don’t understand what was happening!”

“Sure I don’t.” Chloe retorted despite the stinging against her face. All this mess just because she had went to watch those at the dance studio today. And others wondered why she hated the city streets so much. Humans were so awful at times! It really amazed her how dirty they could be with things like these.

“Alright then.” The girl just shook her head, “I’ll leave her to you guys. I need to go catch that idiot. Thinking she can run…”

“Can’t even fight me yourself?” Not that she would actually fight, but Chloe was desperately trying to buy the other girl time. She had seemed so frail earlier and then to be surrounded like this…it really bothered the scatterbug.

And as the girl turned around to throw a rock towards Chloe the scatterbug raisd her arms in defense. Surprisingly though when she opened her eyes again she found out that the rocks hadn’t hit her, “What?” Blinking she noticed the rocks scattered about her and the girls staring in surprise. Protect… The last shimmers of her barrier dropped around her, but Chloe already had good timing now.

“See ya!” Stun spore! With those effects lingering on the girls the scatterbug bolted away from the cold city street and back towards her forest home. She was just thankful she had found a new way to defend herself without having to hurt anyone.

Protect… It definitely would be handy!
