Wandering through the woods as a human was a completely different experience from her time as a scatterbug. Chloe couldn’t help but to reach out and touch everything that she could reach. It was so different almost as if her time as a pokémon was only a dream. It was amazing how she could move so much more freely now through the familiar forest paths were once she had only dreamed of being so bold to move out from the shadows and shrubs that had protected her. Her happiness only lasted for a few moments though before she let out a soft sigh.
Kyllian and Kole…how were they doing?
Even as a human she couldn’t shake the close bond that she had with the other two pokémon. Now that she knew Kyllian was like her she couldn’t help but to wonder if Kole was going through the same thing? Or how Kyllian was doing since she had rejected his offer to live with him at that house? Her nose wrinkled at the thought, her relying on him even as a human? How could she do that? But she did miss him already…and it was lonely out here by herself…Chloe’s gaze softened before she shook her head. Nope! Not doing it! This was supposed to be her chance to prove herself as strong…she had to tough it out now. Even if she did hate violence. The thought made Chloe cross her arms, as much as her friend loved fights and all those stories of warriors she preferred her music and the idea of peace. Fighting just wasn’t it for her. Spotting a stick laying on the ground Chloe bent down and picked it up. Really what was the appeal of his sword even? Biting her lip she looked around before darting about and jabbing the stick at invisible enemies. Nope! It felt too weird! Dropping the ‘weapon’ the girl quickly wiped her hands on her shorts. There was no way that she would ever even think of enjoying stuff like that, “Definitely not.” She just shook her head at the stick before moving on.

The last few weeks on her own had been odd for Lyla. As a Ledyba she'd never really been on the shy side like the rest of her brethren, but now since her change there was more to her. More courage. More anger. Less tolerance for stupidity and it's ilk. Lyla, had grown quite an attitude problem along with her new form. After leaving Ashton and her friends she'd set out looking for Llyr, recalling which way he'd gone though she knew it would be a long difficult search. No where to tell where he'd been, or where he'd gone. It would be sheer luck to find him. In the mean time she'd started learning how to take care of herself. She had some natural born instincts on what was good to eat and what wasn't...but what she'd needed was protection. Under cover of night she'd taken things from people. Food. Weapons. Other means of survival. So she now had a knife tucked into a loop on her belt, and a bow and arrow on her back. Not that she knew how to use either very well, but she was practicing. Now was no different. She had pulled an arrow from the quiver and with some practice managed to knock it onto her string. Her arm shook as she drew the string, and she adjusted her hands a little trying to find a better grip and pulled again. That was better! She'd been about to let her arrow loose when she heard rustling nearby and froze. What was that!?

Chloe had decided it was best to try taking an off path approach to things while exploring. Her idea that she originally found fun caused her to momentarily freeze with the next few steps as she emerged from the bushes. Wide eyed the girl just stared ahead to where another poke-human was standing with an arrow notched and aimed right at her! Having witness people with arrows before she knew exactly how easily they could tear through flesh and they like every other weapon absolutely terrified her. Kyllian! The scream stayed stuck in her throat though as she forcibly pushed it down with an awkward swallow.
She couldn’t be saved by him, there was no chance of him being anywhere near here.
All she had to do was remind herself that she was supposed to be independent and strong now. There shouldn’t be any desire to call out to either of the boys…taking a deep breath Chloe forced a small smile on her face that flickered as she couldn’t help but to stare at the arrow again. If she moved too quickly would she still get shot? Maybe she just happened to be in the way…there was no reason for someone to hunt her right? Blinking some more she pushed down the bundle of nerves and stared at the girl holding the bow…it was a girl, who looked to be around the same size as her. Had she recently changed then as well? Still instead of just saying hello Chloe couldn’t help but to blurt the words, “You aren’t going to shoot me are you?”

It was a good thing she wasn't the twitchy sort who would have let go of her arrow the moment whatever it was making the noise showed it's self, else Chloe would have gotten an arrow shot at her. As was, Lyla held the pose, eyes staring straight head unwaveringly. Normally she'd have lowered the point down to the ground and put her things away but the sudden blurted question brought something of a smirk to her lips. "Don't know yet. You don't plan on trying to rob me do you?" she'd dealt with one man who'd tried that. Her knife had found his arm and deflected off the bone in his upper arm. He'd also left her gear alone after that. Just because the other was her size and age meant nothing to Lyla. Danger came in all shapes and sizes after all. "If you mean me no harm then no I won't shoot you. If you do then I might. Or stab you. Depending." how easily she said this. But there was no bluff to her words.

She had to focus on the feeling of her feet against the ground in order to keep from just bolting from the scene. Counting to ten in her mind Chloe slowly shook her head towards the other girl before noticing the smirk, “Do I look like I’m a robber?” She replied with her arms crossing in front of her, “I would have not just stumbled in front of ya like that.” Cheeks flushing she turned her gaze away from the other girl, “Plus you would have already shot towards me if you really did want to shoot me by now…you’ve had a good chance to that is.” Sheesh, just seeing someone holding a weapon towards her sent chills down her arms! Not that Chloe was going to show that she was absolutely unnerved by the idea of an arrow through her gut. Nope, nope, nope!
The threat of being stabbed made her cringe quietly. Why was violence such a quick answer to things? Chloe looked towards the other girl again before taking a step towards the side, “Like I said stumbling out like that obviously shows I mean no harm to you.” She opened her arms, “See? I have nothing…sheesh. Being so violent towards a stranger…great way to make friends.” Pouting she mumbled under her breath before looking away again. Honestly she didn’t know whether to just stay there or if she should take her chance and dive into the bushes to run for it. Chewing on the inside of her jaw thoughtfully she frowned. That idea was probably not the best, especially since the other did have arrows…arrows could easily fly through those bushes as well.
Sighing Chloe looked back towards the other girl again. It looked like she would be trapped here until the weapons were gone, away, “Do you really like pointing them at people so much? I really don’t mean to fight…I actually hate fighting you know.” Blinking she held out her hands, “So why are you out here shooting arrows anyway?”

"You'd be surprised by all the things I've seen in the last few weeks. Little kids like us who are thieves wouldn't be a new one for me. So while you don't look like one, you could be one." she'd been fooled once before now she'd rather come across aggressive than be stolen from! "The stumble could have been a ploy to get me to lower my defenses. Maybe you have a partner, or group waiting to ambush me when my guard is down." she was taking no chances. "Who ever said I wanted friends? I'm looking for my brother not friends. Aggression is the only thing between me and being robbed or killed. So what if it doesn't get me friends." her unoccupied arms crossed over her chest with a huff. She didn't have time for this mess. Finally all her weapons were put back in their proper places and she relaxed a little. "I'm practicing. I have to get better with them so I can properly defend myself, and find food, and stuff. Aren't you worried being out here all on your own with no way to defend yourself?

Chloe wrinkled her nose, “Like I would ever do something like that.” Even if she was cold and starving the scatterbug couldn’t imagine actually stealing from someone else especially from another poke human like her. Now “borrowing” things from the donation piles she had found was a different story altogether and so was totally acceptable. Her face flushed even more at the suggestion of having a partner or group with her, “And I definitely would not attack like that! I want to be strong and independent, not someone who just relies on others all the time.” Pouting the girl crossed her arms and looked away.
She shook her head slowly and even though it contradicted her own recent actions Chloe had to argue against the aggression, “But wouldn’t it make more sense to have friends to help look? That way you have more eyes to see than just your own.” The woods were huge after all not to mention the towns and a city….the world was such a big place. It used to always make her terrified after all. Though now that she had changed Chloe was experiencing things like a completely new person. It was so different for her now.
Chloe shrugged at Layla’s question and found herself relaxing more now that the arrows were pointed to her face, “I used to worry, but now that I’m different things are weird. I’ve found ways to get by without having to pick fights and I’m good at keeping to the shadows.” She grinned, “Plus running is a good skill of mine! I’m light on my feet and quick around the trees. So no problem there.”

Lyla rolled her eyes som, but couldn't help smiling. "You might be surprised what people do to get by. Such as using someone sweet and innocent like you as a cover for stuff." she was still keeping a half watch on her surroundings, not entirely trusting this girl to not be more than she seemed. She'd rather be overly vigilant, than not enough. "Do I look like I rely on others? No. Would I attack out of the blue if I needed to? Yes." so there was the implied ending to that remark. "If you have people you can trust to help you that's great. I don't have that, or the time to make friends. I have to find my brother. Llyr could be anywhere now." that wasn't to say she was heartless. She'd help people as needed and she did befriend easier than she was letting on. Listening to Chloe, she couldn't help but smile. some. She was nice...and maybe there really wasn't any hidden dangers connected to her. Lyla felt herself relaxing more...becoming a little more friendly. "That's good you keep safe. I used to keep to the shadows and stuff before I changed. It's funny but now I'm nothing like I was. Ledyba are supposed to be shy and easily scared and I'm neither."

Chloe made a face, "That's just nasty of them then. Why would I ever want to do something like that? It's dirty." The scatterbug was far from doing things like that. Nope, nope, nope.
"You don't?" Chloe's gaze softened. No wonder she was so defensive! Everyone needed at least someone to rely on...well not fully rely on...but to have. The scatterbug flushed at her own confusion, "Well then let's change that! Time or no we're here now..." She nodded, "Llyr? Then let me help find him with you! No one should be truly alone after all."
"I wish I could be the same." Chloe flushed, "I really just want to find out how to shine and be bold like my friends...but I'm so used to hiding still." She shook her head, "Anyways would you like that? I'll help you find your brother and be your friend. That way you'll have time for a friend since I'll be helping~"

"Not everyone is overly nice I hate to say. I've learned that the hard way." which was not a fun lesson really.
"Uh-huh Llyr. Last time I saw him he had grown...much taller than both of us." she appraised the girl curiously.
"Maybe you can travel with me for awhile. I'm going to be searching for awhile though...that might get boring...and we might have to fight people, and kill animals to eat. Won't your friends miss you though?"
((Probably after your next post, we can end it. I realized I forgot to ever comment back about ending it, on aim. Sorry!))

Lirilei You're fine. XD It's just hard to reply to you on aim when it gives me the you can't message this person cause they're offline thing.
Chloe's gaze softened at the other girl's words, "I suppose that is true then..." Frowning she shook her head, "But that's definitely not me!" Even if it made her appear weak the girl just had a soft heart. She would help anyone in need if she could...though that might just get her in trouble one day as well.
"That's not hard." Chloe flushed lightly because of her short stature, "But alright. So he's bigger than us..." She made the small note in her mind.
Chloe smiled, "That's okay. I can at least help you for a part of the way~!" She nodded happily, "They'll be alright as long as I'm not gone for weeks." The scatterbug beamed, even if she couldn't stay the whole time at least she coudl offer a bit of support. She really just hated the thought of leaving anyone alone after all.

Sabra Knight Yeah that would be due to my crappy connection *sigh* The wiring in all the apartments needs replaced (everyone in the complex has the issue with losing internet connection, even the office), but the property owners don't want to pay the expense. So...I fall offline a lot. "I'm glad to meet someone who isn't like so many other people I've met since I started looking for him" it was a nice change of pace from what she'd grown accustomed to honestly. "He's a butterfree, so that should help too. I hope anyhow. I didn't get a good look at him when he grew bigger..." so that didn't help but how many people were out there with butterfree wings? "Okay then, it sounds like a plan. I don't plan to stop until I find him, and I don't want to take you too far away from here so you can get back easily.. but he might be in the area." right? Well, she could hope... "Lets start looking then! I'm Lyla, nice to meet you." there was a smile at this considerably friendlier greeting than had happened just minutes before.
