As the trainees stumbled out of the Labyrinth, Aria gestured impatiently indicating that they should come to her. Her eyes roved the trainees, flickering from one to the next as her frown began to deepen. Aria's eyes lingered on their coats, making the connection clear: whereas they were in whites, Aria was dressed from head to toe in the obscuring black hooded coat.
"Listen," She began urgently, her voice low. "Keep close, move quickly, and stay quiet." Without further emphasis, Aria spun on her heel and lead the way. There was something primal about the jungle they were made to march through in single-file. The trees towered overhead, sunlight filtering through the trees to create an ethereal gloom. The sheer size vibrant life in the jungle created a suppressing and claustrophic atmosphere. There was something wild in the air that made the trainees' weapons edgy, restless. The sheer amount of Fear was smothering, making it difficult to think and breathe. It is only by the steady march forward weaving through the thick underbrush aided by the escort of the few Mist hunters that the trainees finally made it.
The tree Aria stopped at was old. If the trainees stood shoulder-to-shoulder and reached around the tree, their fingertips would just barely be able to reach. A strange feeling grew and sank within each Trainee as they looked at the small door in the base of the tree which Aria was standing next to, sparing a glance over at the trainees before leading the way down. The Mist hunters stayed behind, their appearances hidden by the deep shadowed hoods of their black coats.
Down, down Aria lead the trainees, following the blue glow of her weapon's runes. The walls they passed seemed to come to life, the flickering lights revealing graphic, crude images of a primordial people bringing havoc down on another sort of people. As they progressed, it became clear that whoever made these images were wrecking havoc on humans.
There wasn't time to study the walls as they reached the end of the spiraling stairs, the ground shifting from dirt to stone and growing colder the further they progressed. The cave seemed to open up, lit up by several glowing and pulsating runes in the cavern floor. The oppressive Fear seemed to press down on them, then lift the closer they came to the large rune in the center of the cavern.
"Lance is in command," Aria said abruptly, gesturing to the form that was now wheeling towards them in the gloom. The runes gave his position away: his wheelchair was adorned with several different runes that seemed to pulse and flicker in time to the room, looking brighter in contrast to the black coat he wore about his person.
Before he could speak, Aria had turned and was rapidly disappearing up the stairs. The hood of his coat was back. It was easy to see the look of surprise on his face as he looked after the retreating division leader before his expression slid into one of... Longing? Envy? Sadness?
Lance sighed, rubbing the side of his face as if to rub the expression away. "Right," he began, his green eyes studying the trainees. "Right. Over here," He spun around in his chair and wheeled towards the gloom. There was a bump followed by a loud curse before a soft glow infused the area, the light intensifying until it was on par with daylight. Lance said nothing about the table and the items on it that were now askew, instead settling for pointing at them. "Here's a map of what we're lookin' at. See this rune? We're going to use whatever this is against them."
He shrugged, now pointing to a pile of red and blue tiles. "See those? You guys need to place them in alternating colors. Red-blue, red-blue. Don't let red touch red or blue touch blue."
"I'll be here if you need me." Lance did not bother to hide the bitter notes in his voice, making to move elsewhere before he paused as he remembered something. "Oh. Right. The red ones are a bit... volatile so be careful when placing them."
OOC THE GLYPH ROOMRULES:RED GLYPHS: http://zoo.thesporkedken.com/glyphsetred.pngBLUE GLYPHS:http://zoo.thesporkedken.com/glyphsetblue.png- All trainees must use the two glyph sets below to map out and post glyphs with the template. This is very simple. Download both glyph sets. Copy and paste which glyph you want to use for your turn onto the template, but look at the persons's glyph template post above you to make sure not to overlap. - Postthe new template with YOUR GLYPH result in your post. - Make sure to use the IC rules too: alternate glyph colours, don't post the same glyphs period. - PLEASE BEFORE YOU EDIT YOUR RP FOR THE RP SECTION, POST THE UPDATED GLYPH TEMPLATE WITH YOUR CHOICE FIRST SO THE NEXT PERSON CAN POST THEIRS- When you post a RED GLYPH, roll a 10-sided dice. If you roll a 2 or 4, the glyph explodes and you take 1 damage. If a glyph explodes, just RP putting it down again~ - EXAMPLE:- Steve looks at the glyph set and chooses a RED glyph that has not been used. Steve ICly will rp their char Susan picking up a RED glyph tile and pasting it down. He will then paste a LINK (URL) of the UPDATED TEMPLATE with their glyph they chose pasted onto the template (with any sort of art program). - TEMPLATE: *** RP HERE*****

To see Aria in a black coat was odd. Clarice? Yes. Caelius? Yes. The doctor? Oh, hell yes. For awhile the black coat was all she had ever seen him in. But Aria? It was almost alien to the woman. Regardless of her feelings, Candace did as she was told and followed. A jungle? Ugh, were they still in the Amazon? No, that couldn't be it. This didn't feel like the Amazon...where were they? This didn't feel right. Even Atropos was making strange sounds; Candace was used to them but somehow they just seemed...off. Atropos didn't like this place, yet at the same time she loved it. Candace was getting worried.
Once on their way down the stairs Candace looked to the walls. More pictures...the horseman lair they had been to had also had pictures. Apparently horses really liked art. Who knew? Really crude, morbid art. She frowned. Keep going, Candace. You'll do well. She would. She'd do well. She could do this. She'd make him proud even if he wasn't here. She'd make Aria proud. She'd make Lance proud. She'd make herself and Atropos proud.
And never stop fighting.
You can do this Candace.
She was silent as they approached the bottom of the stairway, though she was very surprised by what she saw. Glyphs, runes...what were they supposed to do in here? Candace turned to Aria, expecting her to give them the information they needed. Instead? She announced Lance would be in charge. That was surprising. Nothing against Lance, she liked the guy, but where was Aria going? She was excited to be doing something under her leader, to know she was okay. She wanted Aria to stay in her sights! She couldn't lose her too...
Not her.
Okay so this looked simple enough. Place the glyphs where they needed to go. Good. Got it. Okay. It was even partway done for them! This would be a breeze.
Candace winced as the tile exploded in Mercedes' hand. "You okay, darlin'?" She called out, picking up a tile of her own and placing it underneath the one Mercedes finally was able to place.

Feng meandered over to Aria as he was supposed to, feeling extremely inadequate under her gaze. The longer she stared, the more uncomfortable and unworthy he felt. Until it clicked. She was staring at their coats. She'd adorned herself in black, but they were wearing white. White was painfully obvious in some situations. But they hadn't been told to wear anything else. Were they allowed to wear a different coat color? He'd never seen any of the trainees wear a color other than white.
He followed behind, keeping his steps light. He felt like he was in grade school, forced to walk in a single-file line to the next room of education. It was like he was six again, and if you stepped out of line the teacher would yell at you. The area was... gloomy. And strange. It gave him an overall weird feeling. One that Shang seemed to feel tenfold.
<I don't like it here. At all. Can you keep this mission fast?>
I don't really have control of that. There wasn't really a way he could speed this along alone. And it was probably really rude to ask. He imagined he'd get extra duties for being weak or something.
<Just... hurry.>
The tree they stopped at was huge, and even if Feng only had a moment to stare up at it, he was impressed. He'd never seen a tree this old before. It seemed to stretch up forever. But he was being sucked into the tunnel in the tree, and he had to follow the light of Aria's weapon down. The blue glow made the images on the walls look even more grotesque and his stomach dropped as the realization hit them that these were probably humans. This kind of horror rarely even happened in movies. It was... terrifying.
He didn't notice the shift from dirt to stone, and didn't adjust his walking quick enough. His footsteps became loud and echoing for a second before he realized yes that was him making all that noise. He quickly adjusted and stood fidgeting as Aria walked away and left Lance in charge. Alternating colors. He could do that. He kept a mental record as one after another, hunters before him laid down glyphs. Red, blue, red, blue... and then it was his turn. Red. Wait, hadn't Lance said the reds exploded?
Wait. What glyph was he supposed to pick? What if he set down the wrong symbol and the whole thing was messed up? Was it possible for him to screw up this whole mission? But there didn't seem to be any other strategy except pick a glyph at random, so... He cringed as he picked out a glyph and tried to lay it down gently. It exploded anyways though, and he jumped. The explosion was minor, but his hands were now bloody. Frowning, he tried to place it again, and finally it settled. Well. That sucked.

"Don't bother," Lance interrupted Mercedes and Cass rolling up towards them carefully, avoiding the placed runes. "I have bandages here. The sooner we get everything placed, the sooner we can get out of here." The hunter paused, throwing a glance towards the stairway they had come in at.
He said nothing more, maneuverering his chair until he was no longer near the runes, out of the way of the trainees. He made no move to help. How could he? His chair would be more apt to set off the explosive red runes than lay them into place.
Lance fought down the urge to pace and wheel restlessly back and forth. It would do him no good to waste energy on such a task. His fingers itched, and he had to stop himself before he pulled out his cellphone. No. Not now.
Lance glanced towards the trainees before looking towards the entrance again, his expression guarded. With an irritated sigh Lance summoned his weapon, frowning as he began to move through some basic exercises. His balance was off; he had little time to acclimate himself to the runic chair he was using. Then again, he had been under the impression that he would be permanently benched due to his condition.
Carefully, Lance began to perform a few experimental swings away from the trainees.
