Upon arriving from the portal, an attendant was already waiting for the students, their outfit consisting of layers and layers of plan browns and muted greys. It was dark, wherever they were, and slightly dank, the area rocky and cavernous, betraying its location somewhere deep underground. A few pieces of furnishing, mostly natural rock restructured slightly into the semblance of furniture, littered the cave.

"You are at the Isle of Famine." They hissed slightly as they talked, their words thickly laid with an indistinguishable accent. "We are busy folk, we simply ask that you do not interrupt our daily schedules. You will be given temporary sleeping quarters, but starting tomorrow, you will begin the first of your classes and training field exercises. You will have free time to explore various areas after your studies. Does that make sense, yes?"

OOC

- Your student now has clearance to various areas in the Clan of Famine! The first of note is the dorm rooms, where students can go to interact with any other students in this subforum/ clan
- Next, if students wish to explore the area/ break into PRPS/ their own ORPs, there are designated areas they can visit.
- After 24 hours of exploring around, the CLASSROOMS and TRAINING FIELDS will open up, which students can also explore as well. TRAINING field exercises can be taken DAILY (you can choose one out of all the training field exercises per OOC DAY/ 24 hours), classes will be updated approx every 24 OOC hours by a GM, with homework to complete for points.
- Once again, all rules are here if you have any questions on how things operate.
- BE SURE to read the general information on the Isle of Famine so you have a good idea of the setting! All information here is OOC knowledge, for now.
- If your student is exiting this thread/ ANY threads, be sure to note it with an ENTER and EXIT post. Feel free to post a reaction in this one before EXITING.

((Malodore is entering!))

The transition from sun to blackness was startling, and Malodore paused for a moment, unable to see for several seconds until its eyes readjusted to the dim light. It tilted its head upwards, catching faint suggestions of shadow high above. A cavern, then, in all likelihood... strange. Very strange.

As was the Horseman speaking to them all. Malodore folded its hands into its sleeves and listened with utmost politeness. It was clear this Clan was focused on its tasks, whatever those were. It approved of such things, at least broadly. A population possessing single-minded focus could do great things, so long as it did not become overly restrictive...

The spire high above, and its resemblance to the elders' towers of its past, intruded into its memory again.

Well, then. It would see. It bobbed its head in a nod and drew to one side, waiting for other students to emerge. It wasn't quite bold enough to venture forth entirely on its own just yet.

[ Sparrow is entering! ]

Where Amityville was rather light - if not a dismal, greyish light with constant cloud cover overhead and the scent of rain in the air - the Isle of Famine was none of those things. Instead, as Sparrow stepped through the portal, the first thing he registered was the darkness, stretching out as far he could see. It smelled of wet and moss here, and he lifted a hand, idly tugging on a lock of hair, slightly damp.

The attendant that was waiting was dressed unusually - many draped layers, all in varying shades of brown or tan, and Sparrow gave her a pleasant smile, nodding his head in greeting.

Her own greeting was slightly less pleasant, all things considered, Sparrow thought idly, as he glanced at the attendant. Her voice was oddly accented, her tone a little brusque, and Sparrow listened carefully to her words, giving another nod, this one of understanding, when she finished.

The first on the isle was someone he had seen only a few times before, and Sparrow gave a small smile to Malodore ducking his head in a slight bow at it.

[ aleria is entering ]

Aleria had not realized that they were signing up for the warmth and sun of a desert. They were of the Arctic, of the tundra and snow and ice.

And, of course, they had chosen today of all days to wear layers.

At least it meant that Aleria was used to the sun, bright and unrelenting. It was just the heat that they were not used to. It was like the beach all over again. They were rather glad that being perpetually freezing would always persist, their body straining to regulate its temperature to a cool 0 celsius.

The horseman spoke in lilting tones, the hissing common to the demon's ears. Oddly, the vines in their mind were silent, as though they were oddly missing. It was a relief, really. Perhaps there would be less snoring!

Aleria waved at the student in red, as well as the finely dressed fellow, wandering over to them, waving. "Greetings! This is so exciting!"

They gave each of the student a wide, sharp toothed grin, inky black eyes as warm as they could be.

[Shenny is entering]

And yes! Finally, Shenny felt a relief. As she stepped from the portal, and hew eyes slowly got used to the darkness around she realized she was feeling a time of her life. A real adventure! And candlejack, she's in the centre of events!

Shenny calmed herself a bit, and looked around. A dark place, rocky environment, probably a cavern, or a cave, or... well, a hole. Hm.. let's hope she didn't make a mistake choosing Famine classes, but at least it sounded promising.

Shenny noticed a couple of students who already arrived, one of them was pretty fascinating. It was a first time she saw a real Plague doctor, never meeting one before, she almost believed they no longer exist in Halloween. Shenny couldn't help gazing at him a bit longer than what could be considered polite.

Aleria saw another student come through the portal, and giddily waved a clawed hand at them. She looked like a nice enough girl, but most of them did to the demon.

Perhaps they just saw the world in rose tinted glasses. This one looked to be a necromancer, in pale hued skin and dark clothing, with the most adorable bob cut short around her ears. There were intricate tattoos carved into her skin, and Aleria made a mental note to inspect them later.

"Greetings!"

Vaith had one thing to say. The clans were flashy and cool. It was regrettably he couldn't explore all four domains, considering he could only pick one class. If Famine's lair was this amazing, how amazing were the others?

Unfortunately, Vaith would have to settle for just one.

He coughed, the damp moist air caught in his throat. But that didn't deter his open mouth and stares, along the cave. He was just so amazed, he never wanted to forget this moment. It was only just starting and he didn't want it to end.

(( Aksaja is entering! ))

Aksaja moved fairly quickly toward his assigned portal to the Isle of Famine after eyeing the whole collection of islands for a few minutes. This was definitely different from Amityville . . . and he was still wondering just a bit why he'd even signed up for this class. But, it was something new to try. He'd always been pretty good at attacking head-on. He should probably have some other skills too.

Glancing around, it didn't take him long to spot a familiar face (or not-face) and he waved to Malodore, then made his way over toward the plague doctor. "Haven't seen you in a while. How've you been doing?"

((Enzo is ENTERING))

Enzo was not unused to hopping from school to school, but this exchange program seemed like pretty seriously ritsy sort of affair. With natural abilities on the lockdown, though, it was... odd, being without a swarm. It was oddly refreshing and depressing at once. On one end, the itch was gone. He gave a stretch and a groan of pleasure at the feeling. No roaches skittering unseen in the dark recesses of his clothes. No rats trying to steal his lunch. It was fantastic.

Tipping his cap up, he sauntered through the dark out of the portal, surveying his home-away-from-home for the week. Well, the gloom was... kind of jazzy? Glancing at the Faminites, he somehow doubted their taste in music. Oh well.

Time to make some new friends.

The moment later Shenny was called; turning her head she saw... well, the ghoul was a demon, no doubt. Shenny always loved demons more than any other type of creatures, but... But.. she was amazing. Bloody Mary, she was BEAUTIFUL, at least, in Shenny's sense of perfection. Ghoul's skin was even more pale than Shenny's, hew hair snowy white, and the general outfit combined from various patterns of blue and white looked like a personification of the winter. Shenny almost felt the air around the ghoul was cold and icy, spreading an aura of freshness in a muggish air of a cavern.

"Greetings. It's a pleasure to meet you!" Shenny put on her best soft smile. "My name is Shenny."

[Rafael is entering]

Rafael had only reluctantly let go of Mort's shirt-tails a few minutes ago, and now he was having a hard time resisting the urge to grab onto his new friend again. Not that there was any real reason to -- they were in a small enough group now that he could hardly get lost, at least not while standing right here -- but it felt better to be close to a friendly face, even a friendly face he'd only met a few minutes earlier.

The rat-boil took a moment to clean his glasses on the hem of his own frayed over-shirt. He replaced them on his pointy nose and blinked, trying to adjust his eyes to the gloom of their new location. He was glad they were in a cavern. He rather liked closed-in, underground spaces; they reminded him of home.

He glanced curiously toward the plague doctor, feeling a thrill of recollection -- there was something he knew about! At least, he'd seen one before. And considering how new and strange everything else had been, that was worth something. But there were too many others converging on the plague doctor for him to even consider going to say hello.

Instead, he glanced back over his shoulder to make absolutely certain that his new zombie friend hadn't left him.

"Ghoul" was an accurate enough term, even if neither it nor "Boil" truly worked. They were dressed slightly more masculine, today, but still, their flamboyant style may have ensured that others thought Aleria was a ghoul.

While Aleria did not radiate an air of cool, the demon was most certainly chilled to the touch-- they offered their hand out to Shenny. Their clawed hand would be like holding an ice cube-- keep your hand on it too long and you'll start to go a little bit numb.

"Nice to meet you as well! My name is Aleria, I hail from Shayala in the North."

A few newer people were coming in, and the demon waved to everyone that did, just as enthusiastically as they had to the first few students. "I do not recognize your face-- are you a student at Amityville as well, or from another?"

The ghoul's hand was ice cold to touch. Also, when Shenny moved closer she realized Aleria might not necessary be a ghoul, but probably an undendered demon... well, at least Shenny can consider Aleria to be a ghoul, though she made a note for herself not to mention gender in a discussion. From a brief experience with ungendered and genderfluid folks Shenny learnt this question may - or may not - be not really appropriate.

"I'm not at Amityville, unfortunately, I studied at a local school... though I will do my best to try and submit my documents there. That's why I was looking forward this exchange program, it's a good chance for me to try myself." Shenny tried to sound as easy and certain, as she could. "I'm actually quite eager to go and look around... I know we'll have enough time later, but it's my first time out of Halloween, except for the clan trials before. Do you think we can go and explore the island? May be, others would like to go for a walk, too"

[[Arynek is entering]]

Leaving from the portal, Arynek found herself now in a place very different from where she lives, everywhere are caves and rocks, is that the isle of Famine?

Not far from her, there were other students. "1..2....3.....19" There were 19 of them in the same place, including herself. How she should deal with these strangers in this week, she began to miss Nadia already.

She was so nervous that she looked around, left and right and again, feeling so unsecured. To clam herself down, she began to focus on the Famine clan members who talked to them. They were dressing in brown and grey, which is also the color usually picked by Arynek.

It seemed that she would have the chance to explore in the isle, which will be a big help to her homework, yes, homework given by Amityville, she didn't forget that.

(( Aymet is entering ))

Aymet lagged behind the group into the cavern of Famine. The dracolich was caught up in sightseeing the immediate area. It was definitely a more stylish, practical cave than any he'd seen before; he'd have to take note of some of this stuff to make his own cave more comfortable for the non-draconic types.

The glow of his phylactery made the transition from light to dark a little less bad, but it was still pretty dark in here. He could hear the others but it was hard to see them at first.
