  It's almost Valentine's Day, and it seems like there are flowers and hearts in every shop window. When you're a lonely single in Destiny City, it can be a bit frustrating, but this year the school system has cooked up a little surprise to get everyone out of their V-Day funk...
Everyone's buzzing: the sports teams of the various campuses are doing Valentine's Day benefit dinner, and the theme is Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club. But how do YOU get in on this action, you ask? For starters, most local businesses will be selling tickets to the event at $50 a pop. A little steep, maybe, but food isn't the only thing they'll be providing...
With each ticket you can fill out a postcard with some basic information so that the Lonely Hearts Club members can match you to a blind date! A few days before the event, you'll be mailed the 'card' for the person you've been matched with. Vivre l'amour! Of course, this goes by the honor system, and there's nothing to stop someone from filling out a postcard with bogus information...
Already have a date? That's fine too! Just get you and your date's tickets and skip the rest!
The dress code is formal, and the event will be held at River Oaks Catering, and will feature live music! (Editor's note: River Oaks is currently looking to hire a live band! Call for details!) For your convenience, there will also be a kid's table if you can't get a babysitter!
And the dumpster out back seems to attract a random assortment of hungry cats...

  So what IS all this madness, Ravvlet?
Well, as you all know a custom contest just ended, and there are some new people slash new characters out there who don't know anybody! This hopefully will be a fun opportunity for you and your character to get to know other characters/RPers in what will more than likely end up an intensely awkward situation. Because, let's face it. When was the last time you had a GOOD blind date? (I will make an effort to match everyone up as best I can, but I don't make any promises, lol)
There are THREE WAYS to participate!
The first, is by signing your character(s) up with one of the forms below to be assigned on a blind date. The ORP will take place OOCly & ICly Monday, February 13th and will run for probably a few days/as long as it takes, I suppose. (If that's a problem for anyone let me know). A few days before the event(probably next Friday) I will be PMing everyone their info cards for their character's dates. If something happens to your partner and they can't make it the day of - feel free to reschedule it as a PRP (assume that somewhere on the card it has contact information) or pretend their date stood them up!
The second is by just attending the benefit with a date of your choice - or no date at all, for players who have chibi senshi (there's a kid's table and it's assumed your character's parents are somewhere having dinner)! The blind date thing isn't mandatory - it's really more of a way for people who aren't established in the shop to get to know other people's characters, or perhaps for characters who've recently come out of a romantic relationship and are looking for a rebound. So...Just show up for the ORP and play!
The third is by participating as a volunteer. This is mostly open for students of the various schools, especially those who are on a sports team. While there is no rule against your student signing up for a date, you may or may not feel that it is age appropriate! Volunteers can do a number of things; wait tables, play hostess, or perhaps they are in a band or are some kind of entertainer - it doesn't matter! You can sign up your character by filling out the volunteer form below.
