This is an online art convention that will be held here on Gaia, where you can meet high quality artists and ask for freebies, discounted commissions, art tips, or just chat. Some of the Participating Artists:What is  ?★ A place where unknown artists can get their name out there on the map.
★ The new AS&R Forum is overcrowded with amateurish threads selling overpriced art that aren't worth the asking price; and yet, there are a few artists out there that have good talent, reasonable prices for their talent, but are not getting very much business because they are being overlooked in the sea of threads.
★ A place where potential buyers looking for good art come to find something new (and maybe pick up a few freebies here and there or participate in contests).
★ As stated earlier, the AS&R Forum is full of threads. Some may find it overwhelming, some may find it difficult to find something other than what they've been seeing over and over again in the forum. This is a place where they'll be able to find something new and refreshing.
★ A place where people can ask for advice and get some tips and critiques on their artwork.
★ Some artists will be doing Livestream during the event. You can watch and learn! Some other artists will most likely also be willing to give you any advice or critiques as well if you ask them nicely.

I love this idea, for SO many reasons, and agree with you on all points. It's been a bit difficult to get art for good reasons in the past; all the good shops were flooded with customers and those that needed to improve sold their art for less and appealed to those on a budget. It worked out, for the most part. Now I go to shop via word of mouth or links in other shops who seemed reliable, because after searching through about 14 threads who's set up made my eyes bleed (which I would endure for amazing art) and art that was cute, but not at the level that I was looking for... I almost gave up looking for art. Now, I know everyone has to start somewhere, but I was a little miffed when I've seen a few artists give up their shops when their art is worth the 80k in their prices, but were ignored, and then a shop where a rule was that they were to be praised plus were more expensive than that when I would have paid maybe 10k for their work. Yet, they were full.
I would gladly pay 30k for your event, and I shall poke a few friends and fellow art addicts and see if they too would like to participate and buy tickets.
Do you keep a list of featured artists and shops from the last con?

Excellent! biggrin We need some more advertising--we have 50 pretty good artists (they're voted on by the premium seaters, basically, so you can be assured most of them will be top-quality) and we wouldn't want them and their discounts to go to waste! I mean, some of the discounts are quite huge actually.
Actually, this feels like the first GA*CON event because the first one was very small, hardly advertised on such a scale, and also, a lot of the artists were poor and unreliable and pulled out early. In addition to that, it was a weekend event and that hardly gave ANY time for activities, so we're extending it to one week this time around!

I've seen a few of the applicants in the thread, and they've seen quite impressive. How's the turn out so far? I wouldn't want those discounts to go unused either, though if some selling goes right, I'll make sure to use a few of them.

Turn out? 50 artists to about 30 tickets sold xd We're aiming for at least 2 guests per artist, but selling is a bit slow.

It sounds interesting enough, but I'm a little to how this all works confused, is this going on somewhere on gaia O.o like a get together of artist showing there work and chatting on a specifique thread?
