Collecting - From a young age, Suri's had something close to a compulsion to collecting everything in a set, be it dolls, cards, or McDonald's toys. She's only satisfied when she has every piece, down to the rare or obscure, and back at her parent's 'humble' abode she has boxes upon boxes of random collectibles that would make a museum curator salivate. Only two of her collections travelled with her to adulthood: Sun Records and Sanrio paraphernelia. Despite her generally crabby attitude, her bedroom is decked out with all sorts of Hello Kitty apparel, and the walls of her apartment living room are lined with old original records of Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash, all sealed against the elements. It is even speculated that, in high school, she "crushed" on Buddy Holly (who wouldn't, that sexy beast) though this is largely unconfirmed.
Rock Music History - Tying in with her Sun Records collection, Suri has taken it upon herself to be knowledgable in as many aspects of country and rock music history, and has almost as many music history textbooks on her coffee table as she has academic physics journals. Listening to music is soothing to her, and it reminds her of home on a deeper level than the smell of a home-cooked meal or an old photo album, and it's a way to connect with her roots while still maintaining a level of sophistication that she requires of herself.
Stargazing - When Suri thought she was going to be an astronaut, she used to watch the night sky and track the paths of the universe that she wanted to take first. She's familiar with most of the main constellations and some of the minor ones, and tends to be pretentious towards others with that knowledge. ("You think that's Orion? Please. Orion's not even in the sky until November.") She still keeps her telescope in her closet, but it's been awhile since she's actually broken it out, considering the bittersweet feeling she experiences whenever she looks at stars that she now knows she'll never visit.

Virtues:
It's Under Subsection ‘N’ - Structured - Suri demands a degree of order in her life, so chances are if you need something, she knows where it is, who had it last, and who needs it for the future. Just under what would be considered obsessive levels of organization, she actually finds it therapeutic to arrange her things neatly, and often insists to impose this order on others. Plans are an essential part of Suri's lifestyle, and her little black planner is like a Bible to her: if it's written as a plan, it'll get done.
Failure is Not an Option - Determined - Sometimes Suri gets described as a go-getter or a hard worker, but a better way of putting it is that she does not allow room for error in anything that she attaches her name to. As long as she is entrenched in an activity, she’ll put her all into seeing it through to success, and takes specific pride in her work and it’s consistently high quality.
Here’s What I Think - Straightforward - Did you know that females tend to use 100,000 words a day, while males use only 40,000? Suri’s convinced it has something to do with the way that most people like to meander, beat around the bush, or otherwise pull some form of semantic bullshit when they could just be getting to the point. Therefore, whenever Suri is of the opinion of anything, she never tries to hide her meaning with double entendre or mixed vocabulary. She means what she says, and chances are her stance won’t waiver on the subject, either.
I’ll Keep You My Dirty Little Secret - Trustworthy - To that effect, Suri believes strongly in the power of a promise, and because of that she is extremely good at keeping secrets of all sorts. Not that she’s the most cuddly, approachable person, but people will go to her for an unbiased objective opinion on their situation without the risk of rumors getting spread. No matter if it’s breaking your mother’s favorite pot or breaking your ex’s skull, the skeletons in your closet will stay right where they are. Suri feels that it’s not her responsibility to actually act on other people’s problems.
Flaws:
It's My Way or the Highway - Solo Operator - Suri likes to work alone, and it has nothing to do with enjoying quiet time or solitude. She just outright thinks that 99 percent of the populace shares a collective brain cell, and that if you want something done right, you have to do it yourself. This sometimes leads to Suri biting off more than she can chew, but mostly results in her taking total control of anything she’s been assigned to, regardless of traditional authority figures.
Why am I Not Surprised? - Jaded - Some people remember a time when Suri was a wide-eyed idealist, but that person was killed the moment she failed her eye exam to join the air force. Getting knocked down from the dream of being an astronaut to a lab assistant at a prep school where half the girls couldn’t care less about science has really trashed Suri’s general view of the world as a whole,
Where’s my Nobel Peace Prize? - Bitter - As a general rule, Suri feels largely unrecognized for her abilities, and because of that she has a tendency to covet the good in other people’s lives. Therefore, she is exceedingly bad-tempered to those who always seem to be on the up and up, and takes a certain schaudenfreudic pleasure in watching such people having their bubbles burst (bonus points if she’s the one who gets to do it).
Weakness: I Can't Lose if I Don't Compete - Sore Loser - Suri wants to be the best at everything, but even she recognizes that this isn't entirely possible. To circumvent the consequences of losing, Suri is quick to cut her losses and say that "she wasn't ever even trying" in order to save face. Losing, after all, is failure, and failure is not an option.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION
Eyes: Her eyes are amber-colored in hue, narrow and almond-shaped.
Hair: Suri has whitish hair with a tawny tinge that might be considered white-blonde, done in a short cut that goes to her shoulders with lots of layering to give it a feathery, ‘disheveled on purpose’ sort of appearance. Her bangs are also purposely messy-looking, and cover most of her forehead, but sometimes she uses space-themed hair clips (ie. Stars, planets, rocket-ships) to keep the hair out of her eyes on lab day.
Face: There’s a vague chance that Suri could be thought of as pretty, if any of the guys she knew had the balls to face the consequences. Her face is heart-shaped and nicely framed by her hair, her nose petite and upturned and her lips set into a pout by default. She has a light splatter of freckles on her pale skin across the bridge of her nose and her cheeks, but they’re difficult to see if not up-close.
Body: On the shorter side of average at 5'4", Suri has a slim build that errs on the side of being slightly bottom heavy by proxy. Clothing wise, she prefers the androgynous business casual look (or anything that looks 'official'), with lots of collared shirts and pressed slacks, though she will indulge in the occasional t-shirt, jeans, and cowboy boots look. She also firmly believes in the principle of 'lounge clothing', and as such has a pretty extensive collection of flannel pajamas and robes for after a long day. Her main color palette is in blues, greens, and neutral browns or khakis, and she generally avoids warm colors like reds or oranges.

About the mineral Zircon:
From Wikipedia: Zircon is a remarkable mineral, if only for its almost ubiquitous presence in the crust of Earth. It occurs in igneous rocks (as primary crystallization products), in metamorphic rocks and in sedimentary rocks (as detrital grains). Large zircon crystals are seldom abundant. Their average size, e.g. in granite rocks, is about 0.1–0.3 mm, but they can also grow to sizes of several centimeters (a few inches), especially in pegmatites.
Owing to their uranium and thorium content, some zircons may undergo metamictization. The processes, related to internal radiation damage, partially disrupt the crystal structure and partly explain the highly-variable properties of zircon. As zircon becomes more and more modified by internal radiation damage, the density decreases, the crystal structure is compromised, and the color changes.
Zircon occurs in many different colors, including red, pink, brown, yellow, hazel, black, or colorless. The color of zircons sometimes can be changed by heat treatment. Depending on the amount of heat applied, colorless, blue, and golden-yellow zircons can be made. In geological settings, the development of pink, red, and purple zircon occurs after hundreds of millions of years provided the crystal has sufficient trace elements to produce color centers. Color in this red or pink series is annealed in geological conditions above the temperature about 350 °C.
Zircon's primary connection to Suri is in one of its uses, namely the farming of the metal Zirconium. Zirconium in it's metallic form is one of the materials used to coat the hull of space shuttles, and so it is appropriate that as a Negaverse officer Suri becomes a part of what she was denied as a normal Civilian. (Zircon is also her birthstone, but that's admittedly less dramatic.)
Why the Negaverse?: Suri likes things to be under her control. She wants to work hard, but more importantly, for her hard work to be rewarded with results, and this is the primary force behind the gears turning in her head. She wants to be worth-while, and not because her parents gave her the money to succeed. As a matter of fact, she wants to be better than them. The only way to succeed more thoroughly than a rich oiler, in Suri's mind, is to be a national star, and since she was neither particularly artsy nor athletic, she turned to the stars. Every kid had their dream job, but Suri dreamed it twice as hard, and therefore crashed twice as hard when she was denied. However, Suri is an only child, fed by a silver spoon. People don't just tell her, "No" unless they expect to get a "NO U" right back at them. Suri has worked far too hard, in her mind, to end up as a science teacher. No, she is made of better stuff than that, and she is determined to show the world.
The Negaverse provides Suri with an arena in which obedience and hard work is highly rewarded, and although she is starting at the bottom of the totem pole, she is determined to prove her worth. She doesn't quite understand the inner workings of starseeds and senshi, but she understands the power that the General-King commands and she wants some of it for herself. Civilian death? Well, everyone needs to stand on a few others to make it to the top. As a lieutenant, Zircon also doesn't fully understand the ramifications of her actions, and will be left to ponder the people she's killed at a later time. For now, she can simply enjoy the structure and hope that one day, she too will be recognized.

Syllabus
Welcome to Upper Level lab courses, either in general chemistry or mechanical physics. Classes meet on a block schedule (A-Day/B-Day) depending on the science you've selected, with timeslots available for the first and fourth periods. These labs are designed to explore concepts learned in the lecture portion of your science classes, and as such the student should keep an inquisitive nature at all times within the labs. Rules and regulations are as stated below, and will be carried out as stated unless over-ruled by Ms. Ellis with just cause.
Attendance
All students are expected to attend lab each and every day. Missing even a single lab will result in ineligibility to turn an any lab assignments for the day, resulting in a zero grade, as well as ineligibility to do the next lab assignment (as you would not have been in class to receive the data). This ruling may be contested with a doctor's note or an obituary signifying a death in the family.
There will be no extra credit or grade recovery offered. Do not ask for it. The grading scale is in accordance with the standard Crystal Academy grading scale, which can be found on page 17 of your planner. Grades can be checked once every two weeks or during a free period, and may be contested with proof of an error in scoring.
Class Format
Students will be expected to be in their seats with lab assignments in the appropriate folder at the front BEFORE the bell rings. At the start of every class there will be a quiz to ensure that the reading for the lab was done, and afterwards a short lecture will be held to show how to properly use lab equipment and to answer any questions. Following this, students will put on all safety gear and enter the lab itself, completing the lab as per the instructions. At the end of the lab, a copy of the data collected for the day should be turned in, and assuming the assignment is finished early, students are permitted to leave. The following class, students are expected to have a lab report on the data as outlined on their 'lab report' worksheets, as well as any pre-lab assignments completed. There will be a midterm and a final test covering lab material, and a short quarterly paper will be assigned for independent research purposes.
Class Help and Tutoring
Ms. Ellis will be available in the lab room during second period to answer any questions and help with tutoring. However, it is more advisable to seek the aid of the student tutors, who meet every Tuesday after school. In the event of an emergency, Ms. Ellis can be contacted via email at elliss@crystal.edu. Please keep in mind that spam is considered instructor harassment and thus a punishable offense at Crystal Academy.

Family NPCs
Ted Ellis - Father - A broad-shouldered, cowboy-hat wearing, boot-clicking man with a big personality and a hearty laugh. Not a native of Destiny City, he hails from more southern regions, and as such goes out of his way to keep his moderate estate with all the southern comforts of home. He enjoys cigars, motorcycles, and just generally being as manly as possible, which is easy to do from all the money he's amassed after thirty years work on the farm. Suri is something of a "daddy's little girl", and though she thinks her father is a drunk and generally far too stupid to be as successful as he is, she nevertheless has fond memories of him and knows that he would bail his precious little angel out of any trouble she ever had.
Kerry Ellis - Mother - A petite, shrewd woman with a quiet disposition. Like Ted, Kerry is not from Destiny City, though she lacks the distinct southern accent of her husband, so it is suspected she is from elsewhere (she doesn't talk about her childhood much). Currently in her second marriage (she doesn't talk about her first much), she is still relatively young for having an adult child, and while being intelligent, is something of a trophy wife. Suri tends not to get along with her mother, not because of their differences but because of how similar they are at their core.
Amanda Elford - Friend - A curly-haired brunette who's sat one seat in front of Suri from the moment they were in grade school. Happy, bubbly, and usually engaging in cookie-making or some other domestic work, Suri thinks of her as something of a little sister. Still in college, she is nevertheless engaged to her high school sweetheart, and because of her extensive planning of the wedding she has not seen Suri lately.
Maverick - Housepet - A two-year-old grey Siberian, Maverick (usually shortened to 'Mav') is currently Suri's closest friend and confidant. His temperament is generally crabby and demanding, but he is surprisingly tolerant of his owner (and not so much of her visitors, few as they may be).

Backstory
Born in 1988 just outside of Dallas to a rich rancher and his beautifully posh wife, Suri Ellis grew up with access to anything her little heart desired. She wanted it all, and so she had it all--she read books, she participated in sports, she rode horses, and did anything in her power to appear the part of a perfect and proficient daughter. When she looked up at the night sky she knew she wanted that too, and from a young age took an interest in space and the people who traveled it.
But she was also condescending and cruel to her peers, and only became more so when she moved to Destiny City during grade school. Lacking many friendships forced her to push more effort into her academics, her athleticism, and her future career--by high school, she was a moderately accomplished track and field medalist for Crystal, and she was openly in talks with an Air Force recruiter. The plan was simple--graduate college, become a pilot, make waves, and be an astronaut.
It was a flawless contingency--until just before signing any papers, she failed a vision test and was deemed unfit to fly. Months before her graduation, Suri had to face the sudden and irrefutable truth that none of her life was going to follow her plans, no matter how she fought against it. At her mother's request, she took a teaching position, 'just for a year', 'just to give herself some time to figure things out', and then several months in she got a promising call from one Gunn Killingworth...
