User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.Name: Alice O’Conner
Gender: Female
D.O.B.: October 13, AL 86
Age: 22

Patrol:
New Eve
Rank: Sergeant (Newly Appointed)

Appearance: At a distance, Alice’s thin frame makes her appear exceptionally tall when not standing next to another. Yet despite her lanky figure, she only stands at a mere 5’3. Her slender body hardly supports any muscle, however what she lacks in strength she makes up in agility. Her fluid movements are matched with the epitome of grace and flexibility. This skill tends to lead others to believe that she may have trained to be an Olympic gymnast at some point in her life. (Highly unlikely) Alice is not what one would call ‘shapely’. There are no curves to accompany her narrow frame, which doesn’t seem to bother her since she prefers to wear long clothing anyway. Crimson dye is scattered throughout her raven black hair to contrast against her pale complexion and amber eyes. Her spikey hair as a sort of bed-head style to it and never looks quite the same as it did the day before.
Unfortunately, Alice’s physical attributes have earned her nicknames such as Short-Stock, Flat Chest, Vampire, and many others. Considering most of these names are promoted by the male gender, they are often met with a severe kick to the groin.

Personality: While Alice isn’t overly flamboyant, cheerful, talkative, or outgoing, she isn’t exactly shy or reserved either. Most attempts at socializing with the short Sergeant are simply met with a bored silence. With a sharp and cunning mind, Alice seems to have a witty retort always ready on the tip of her tongue. When she can’t win a verbal fight, she tends to solve it physically until calmed by Flamehaze. When Alice isn’t thinking up a sarcastic reply, she often enjoys humming or singing the tunes to songs that were once considered classics during the twenty-first century. Even though most of the artists and song titles have been forgotten, they have been cherished and passed down from her father’s side of the family since the third World War. Breaking out randomly into these ‘ancient’ songs is not the only prospect that deems Alice eccentric. If she is addressed by someone other than a Captain, Lieutenant, or fellow Sergeant, she uses her best deadpan expression and will often cut someone off in the middle of speaking with a quick, witty question or remark. However it is all an act and generally used just to confuse or startle younger Recruits or Privates. In truth, Alice can be serious when need be and holds her title with the utmost importance.

History: During her younger years, Alice had never given thought to what would become of her when she would eventually grow up. She had been the only child born to Nathaniel O’Connor, a Private Wolfrider, and his wife Elizabeth. Since Elizabeth was generally a stay-at-home mom, Alice never needed a caretaker. When Elizabeth wasn’t serving as a cook for the Forts, Alice would help her around the Barrack. Although the girl rarely saw her father, she enjoyed the opportunities of spending time with him when he and his wolf were home. She’d listen intently with awe as Nathaniel recalled the stories of the first wolfriders. Alice had always had sort of an affinity to animals that weren’t insects, especially not the thirty foot-long ones that were capable of eating you.

At age 11, Alice would concern over her mother's health as Elizabeth contracted a disease that made it difficult for her to breathe. Despite being released from her job so she could improve on her health, nothing seemed to help Elizabeth. Even Nathaniel would try to take time off from his patrols so he could be at his wife's side to aid her. After a year or so of practically staying in bed and consuming nothing but soup and herbs, Elizabeth died of pneumonia. Her death came as a painful shock to Alice and she was never again the same. No more would she gaze upon animals and plant life with blissful fascination. All her optimism had been destroyed. She continued life alone at home, watching her father suffer a quiet depression as he would leave and return home each day.

Fortunately, when Alice became 14, it seemed her and her father had recovered moderately despite the permanent damage that lingered in their hearts. While she was no longer the cheery inquisitive little girl, Alice had become a laid back, sarcastic teenager who harnessed her father's sharp wit. Whenever Nathaniel returned home early from patrols, she would spar with him or his wolf as a means of training for self-defense. This became a daily routine, and as months passed, Nataniel took an interest in his daughter's fighting style.

Four years later, on her 18th birthday, Alice was sent to train at the Academy in hopes to make use of herself and become a Wolfrider like her father. After her first week of vigorous training and trying to match the Drill Sergeant's crude remarks, Alice spotted something peculiar hiding behind a crate of old training equipment. Carefully approaching the frightened form, she found what appeared to be a large, frail, and hungry fox. Taking pity on the creature, she offered it food. Knowing one of her professors or the Recruit that she bunked with would throw a fit if she brought a mangy fox into the dorms, Alice kept him hidden in a small, sheltered area near the back of the Academy building. For a few days, Alice would bring food to the fox before and after her training sessions until he was healthy enough to return back to his home.

A couple months passed before the privileged, more experienced Recruits were taken to meet a litter of adolescent wolves that were eligible for bonding. Alice, having only about two months of experience, was not "qualified" to bond with a pup until she had a full year's worth of training, thus having to stay behind that day for morning exercises. However, she was moderately surprised as one of the young wolves with russet colored fur and long legs broke off from the group and trotted up to the girl to mentally greet her, which she responded with a meek "Umm, hi."
They continued to talk about minimal things like the weather and how Alice's training was coming along until a very agitated Drill Sergeant interrupted them, demanding to know why a Recruit was lolly-gagging with a wolf instead of training. Much to Alice and the Sergeant's surprise, the russet-furred stayed by the girl, even when his litter-mates beckoned him to return. Although he never gave a reason, the wolf insisted on being bonded to Alice.
The girl and her wolf, whom she named Flamehaze, proved to be an inseparable pair. Alice's grace and flexibility with Haze's agility served as a lethal combination. As a Private Apprentice, Alice spent several extra hours in difficult training to make up for what she never learned in The Academy. Within a year she was promoted to a Private. However Alice and Haze's hard work didn't stop there. The two continued to push themselves until recently. News of one of New Eve's Betas, Darkheart, died in battle, and it seemed the pack was in need of a new Sergeant...

Name: Flamehaze
Nickname: Haze
Gender: Male
D.O.B.: Mid Winter, AL 104
Age: 4

Pack: New Eve
Rank: Beta

Appearance: With a scarred muzzle and wiry, russet colored fur, Haze doesn’t exactly qualify for the most handsome wolf in New Eve. Not that he’s ever cared for appearances. Though at first glance Flamehaze appears to look like a Red Fox, (something he truly loathes being mistaken for) he actually descends from Maned Wolves. Like all Maned Wolves, Haze’s long, rigid legs give him an advantage in height, standing at almost at 18 hh in shoulder height. Large bat-like ears stand atop his head for precision in hearing. Although Haze’s lean figure is more suited for speed, he has proven to hold stamina in strength as well even if he isn’t the strongest wolf in the pack. There are times that seem the past burdens of malnutrition and heavy battle make him seem aged and more experienced than he actually is.

Personality: Unlike Alice, Flamehaze is a quiet, reserved character who prefers not to start fights amongst his peers. He never really tries to go out of his way for anything, except to perhaps calm Alice down or prevent her from becoming too reckless. Haze generally doesn’t speak unless spoken to, or if he feels it necessary to give advice. Following his ancestry of Maned Wolves, Flamehaze normally hunts alone and isn’t quite accustomed to pack laws. Nevertheless, he is careful to submit to the Alphas and follow their orders anyways. He hadn’t always been Beta, but instead gained the position when Alice had been promoted to Sergeant. Since the change was so sudden, he never expects any special regard or respect from the other wolves and doesn’t mind still being treated like a Gamma, despite his current rank.
