January 109
The large white and orange wolf stretched himself out comfortably on the solid surface. Calla would never find him here, she could search every nook and cranny and still never find him. For once in his life he would get a calm, peaceful, uninterrupted nap. As he let his orange eye's called closed with a contented sigh, an unwelcome, familiar met his ears.
"How the crap did you get up here?"
So much for his peaceful nap.
Calla pulled herself up onto the roof, groaning as she accidentally kicked the ladder out from underneath her, sending it flying down into the snow. In her irritation she crossed the roof quickly and gave her lazy bonded a swift kick in the side. "This is your fault, now how do you propose we get down? And how did you get up here anyway?" Calla snapped at him, glaring down the wolf and making a mental note that he needed to go on a diet.
"I do not need a diet!" WoodWhisp snapped, ignoring the kick to the ribs and quickly pulling himself into a sitting position. He shot his rider a glare and within moments he was on top of her, pinning her in the snow and stretched out across her comfortably. "A good magician never reveals his secrets. And anyway, I haven't had my fourth nap today I'm not getting down yet. And I doubt there is anything you can do about that." WoodWhisp pointed out, snorting as he lay his head on his paws and closed his eyes again.
"Whisp. I am going to kill you if you don't get off of me. May I remind you I still have access to my pistol?" Calla pointed out darkly, only to be ignored. To get her point across she pulled out the gun and sent a few warning shots in the general direction of his nose, only to be further ignored. "Worthless bag of bones." Well this was quite a problem now wasn't it?

"I don't suppose you will let me go alone will you?" A deep voice came littered with annoyance. Domonique wasn't one for having wolf company, true he was bonded to one, didn't after all these years she still had to tag along with him. His flame like braid bounced and waved behind him as he rode slowly on Glazedpaw's back. Domonique was a troublemaker and very good at doing thing that were considered being unsafe.
Glazed paw flicked her left ear with annoyance. No I wont let you go alone, what do you take me for? Domonique grew silent as they continued their walk towards where ever it was they were going. Glad the wind was strong enough to keep his long braid out of the snow. They had just come from scolding a few of the newer fort members and several of the children who were misbehaving, which seemed to be a common past time for him. Blinking as a ladder came crashing down in front of him and his wolf. Now who do you suppose- The question was immediately interrupted by a few shots firing from a small pistol. Annoyed Domonique took in a breath at the same time Glazedpaw blew a quick huff out of her nose. I highly doubt you want to do what I know your thinking.
"Oh c'mon Glaze this could be fun." Domonique pulled up to the house and started yelling, "You never fire a gun in the fort, you could kill someone! How dumb could you get!"

Keahi was watching the clouds float past, as she laid against Firemoon. The wolf was enjoying a nap, just happy that being bug by anyone. "That one looks like a butterfly," Keahi pointed out. Firemoon just grunted, not bothering to open an eye. The human let out a sigh, thinking that they should go find something more useful to do.
Lets not, I want to stay where it is peaceful, Firemoon told Keahi. And no buts, I like my time to relax. The sound of gun fire drowned out another one of Keahi's sighs. Crystal blue eyes turn to look into large teal ones. Oh great, the wolf sighed.
Keahi got to her feet and trotted to where they came from, her unhappy wolf slowly followed behind her. Soon she came into view of one wolfrider and his wolf. But he didn't seem to be the one who fired. He was looking up, but why was he doing that. She followed his sight to look on top of a roof. Wait is there a wolf up there, she wonder. It was hard to tell, but she was pretty sure there was a wolf on the roof. "What's going on?" she asked the male rider, as she walked over to him.
Who cares, lets just go, Firemoon complained.

Calla fired another shot, this time right between the wolves ears, but to no avail. With a sigh she flopped back on the snowy roof top and re holstered her pistol. "You are such a pain some times." Calla growled, crossing her arms across her rather flat chest and harrumphing the wolf.
"You've attracted attention." Whisp pointed out, flicking his tail in the direction he could hear the voices coming from. He rolled lazily onto his side, pinning Calla further underneath him.
"Great. HEY!" She shouted, hoping they were paying attention, "Can ya please pick that ladder back up so I can at least get down when I get this fat fuzzball off me!?" She asked, wriggling beneath him. Not that wriggling got her far but a scrapped back and she just might have torn her collar on the rough roof's surface. Sighing she gave up, crossing her hands behind her head and staring up at the sky. 'Okay, how about this, you let me go I let you sleep.' Calla proposed, unable to stand laying here like this.
"No deal, you'd wake me up anyway." WoodWhisp pointed out, he knew he was right, he could feel it in her mind. That and experience had taught him well. When Calla thinks he's being useless she doesn't let him go back to his nap until he's done something of value to her.
Calla grumbled, the wolf had a point. Though in all actuality they did need to be on patrol right now.

Rayan was in White Ops mode. In other words, he was dressed completely in white from the head to the toes, though one could speculate how and where he found a pair of pure white boots. But given that it was broad daylight and the ground was covered in snow, wearing white was a much better camouflage technique than the usual black - although he had a set of Black Ops wear too, stashed somewhere in his wardrobe.
Hitting the snow next to a particular building, someone's barracks no doubt, Rayan lay on his stomach as he peered around the corner and carefully scrutinized the area. Wolfrider training kicked in as he took in every corner and crevice, eyes searching for any unusual movements. Nothing other than the normal hustle and bustle of riders and wolves, walking about doing their own thing. Deciding it was safe, he quickly jumped to his feet and ran to the next building, haunched over as low as possible.
A flash of a familiar shade of pink reached the corner of his eyes, and Rayan dived behind the nearest building. Pulling his white beanie hat over his head, to protect his hair as much as to prevent a specific wolf from recognizing him, he glanced around the edge of the building again. Seemed like it was a false alarm, so he prepared to move out again, only to hear a shot ring out from the next building. As familiar as he was to gunshots and even a few bullet wounds, Rayan had been in the process of standing up when the sound sent him slipping and crashing into the snow.
Peeved at whoever had inadvertently knocked him into the snow, Rayan could only be grateful that the hat had protected his hair from any damage. But he was still a little annoyed (and curious), so he quickly but stealthily made his way over to the commotion. Although it seemed like he wasn't the first to arrive, noticing two familiar faces looking up at... a wolf on the roof? Now how did that big lump get up there? ...what was he saying, he'd seen Rose climb a tree before.
"Now, now, children, learn to play nice," Rayan scolded the group, crawling through the snow as he made his way towards them. An odd sight to be sure, watching the former Sergeant on his hands and knees, but he wouldn't risk being sighted. "Wouldn't want to draw unwanted attention now, would we?"
Then the wolf on the roof spoke up, which had Rayan staring up with a blank expression for a moment. Wolves did not talk, and that voice sounded familiar anyways... that wolf looked familiar too. "Calla, dear? Is that you up there?" he called up with a devious grin. Of course, how could he not recognize the voice of that boyish woman?

Domonique turned to Keahi with a look of irritation he had ment to direct towards the source of the gun shot. "Someone just shooting at their wolf." Domonique shrugged, in all honesty Domonoique really could care less about the well being of any wolf other other than Glazedpaw that was. "At this rate that idiot might attract the others, and that means Rayan." Not that Domonique really cared or at least that was what he was trying to potray. Of course just to be luck as soon as he has said those words who should appear but the man himself crawling oddly through the snow as if he was hiding. "Morning Rayan. Having some trouble with your wolf again this morning." He was doing his best to hide the smirk behind his eyes.
Don't be ridiculous Domonique. Glazedpaw lowered her haunches to the ground raising her nose towards the roof of the house. "You still unable to find a place to sleep Woodwhisp?" Glaze asked her eyes twinkling as she spoke, her voice holding a slight bit of amusement. Lifting her tail off the ground and setting it back down again she flicked her ears forward awaiting his response.

Dead leaves crunched underfoot as black paws moved steadily across the frozen ground. The large wolf's head swayed lightly from side to side as he meandered around the fort. He was without his rider today on account she had left early in the morning to visit her father in the clinic. So long as she was within a ten mile radius where the wolf could easily access her mind, Flamehaze would be at ease. As he cruised within the fort, Haze came to the realization how uneventful the passing hours were without the stunted Sergeant around to make a crude remark or use stray Apprentices as target practice. Though, he'd rather accept the eerie silence than have to pull Alice out of a brawl. However, the tall wolf refused to take on a lax disposition just because the absence of his rider.
The familiar sound of a pistol caught the wolf's attention. Haze felt a lump of fear hit the bottom of his stomach as he immediately blamed what was ever around the corner on Alice. Didn't she leave her pistol home today? The agitated wolf slipped between the barracks and came to a halt as he happened upon a small gathering of Gammas and their riders. Much to his relief, the source of the gunshot had not been his eccentric rider afterall. Concern still flicked across his face as he blinked up a what appeared to be one of the older Privates standing atop her roof and aiming a gun at the white and orange wolf, whom Flamehaze recognized as WoodWhisp.
As things seemed to settle, for now, Haze cast a wary glance around the slowly growing group. He was silently thankful that Alice was not around at the moment. She would only make the situation worse on his part if she noticed what was going on. A startled looks came across his features as movement from the corner of his vision caught his attention. Joy. It was Rayan.

Calla shoved against the wolves shoulder before temporarily giving up again, and that was when a familiar voice reached her ears. "Oh, hey Rayan! Yeah I'm in a bit of a jam, you don't happen to have a crow-bar on you do you? I'm feeling a bit like a sandwich." Calla shouted back cheerfully. Rayan was okay by her, if anything he could be quite entertaining at times. And he was also useful for carrying random items that did eventually come in handy, and she hoped a crow-bar was among them.
WoodWhisp rumbled atop Calla and readjusted himself. "Oh hello Glazed. Nah I'm rather comfortable now, found myself a very good pillow." Whisp said with mild sarcasm, making sure Calla heard him. He wagged his tail a bit, brushing snow from the roof and down onto those below, and pretending it was a minor accident. "Oh! Hello there Haze, come to take a nap as well?" he asked, failing to really show anything more than mild respect for the Beta, he'd figured he'd spent enough time under FlameHaze that the respect he felt for him was implied.
"Could someone please help? Preferably soon before this hunk of meat makes any more cracks about me being a large soft object?" Calla shouted down, pulling out her pistol again and sending another warning shot in the direction of WoodWhisp's head.

She sighed, "I'm sure there are better ways then shooting at your own wolf." Sometimes, she thought that she had the best time dealing with her wolf in this fort. "Too late," she told Domonique, seeing Rayan dressed in all white. "Rayan, why are you dress like that? Are you hiding from EternalRose?" Everyone seems to have wolf toubles, she thought with another sigh.
Yes, so lets go, before we have them too. Plus if we leave Calla up there, it could help them to work them out, Firemoon whinned, wanting to leave as soon as possible. Keahi gave her a look, wondering why Firemoon seem to be a little caring. All right, I just want to go. Now.
"It might not be for the right reasons, but it might help Calla if she stays up here," Keahi said.

A movement to the side caught his attention and Rayan swiveled his head in the direction of FlameHaze, eyes narrowing at the sight of the familiar wolf. His next reaction was to quickly glance around for the rider that often accompanied the Beta - for good reason given the results of his last encounter with the little woman - but to his relief, she was nowhere to be found. Another nightmare knocked down the list for now.
"No, of course not," he immediately responded to Domonique's inquiry, standing up and trying to look as nonchalant as possible. If it so happened to get back to Rose that he had been avoiding her, well, he didn't want Damien on his back repeating everything that wolf was screaming into the Captain's mind - but only because Damien had a habit of imitating tone and level of voice as well (aka high-pitched and very loud). Throwing Keahi a sly smile, "Well, I could take it all off, if you prefer."
As for that not so attractive woman on the roof, Rayan furrowed his eyebrows thoughtfully. To help or not to help, was not the question, since he only helped pretty women and Calla was clearly not a woman. "If you agree to let Keahi here lie on you like that, I'll come help you out," he finally responded, before winking at Domonique and whispering, "A much better sandwich, that."
And because Rayan didn't know when to shut up, he shouted up to the roof, "I've got a large hard object."

Calla laughed, she couldn't help herself. But at the same time she removed her pistol and shot in the vague direction of Rayan's voice. It's not like she wasn't used to his comments, indeed they quite entertained her most of the time, but a good warning every now and again would probably do the man some good. "I don't think that would help in this particular situation Rayan. But don't worry, keep trying and sometime it might work." She shouted in response, sarcasm dripping excessively from her words, "But if Keahi's game, I'm game. Anything to get this sleeping fuzz ball off me. If I get down remind me to put him on a diet!" Calla added, shoving against WoodWhisp with renewed ferocity, and making a bit of progress in shoving his shoulder into the snow. As much as she would have appreciated the help, the terms Rayan had layed down weren't nearly as entertaining as she played them off to be.
"You agreed to it." WoodWhisp pointed out, placing his shoulder back on her, undoing all her progress. He ignored the growl and the fourth shot in his direction, merely flicking his ears at her and grinning. He was rather comfortable in the situation and didn't particularly mind being stuck here. Nor for that matter did he really mind the attention being received, it wasn't every day, after all, that so many people gathered around one wolf.
'Yeah well anything to get away from you.' Calla hissed back mentally before changing strategy and trying to pull herself out from underneath him. She made a bit of progress before the button on her shirt snagged in his fur. 'Great.' she grumbled, Whisp just laughed at her before readjusting himself to further pin her hands.

Keahi just glared at Rayan. "I prefer that you leave it on. I would hate for you to get cold," she said, the concern was left out of her voice. She had to learn to be careful about what she said around Rayan, since he could turn it around on her. She gave him another glare at his idea. "No, I'm not game. Sorry, Calla, but you seemed to be on your own, unless someone has a better idea."
Firemoon glare at Rayan at that the same time as Keahi. Can I bite his hand off? she asked, walking over so she stood in between Rayan and Keahi. Her teal eyes didn't leave him, as she show him her teeth. She didn't need Keahi to answer, since she already knew the answer. And if we left when I wanted to then we would have to deal with him, she told Keahi, with a flick of an ear toward Rayan.
"Will you behave Firemoon," Keahi reported. "And if you want to go so badly then get up there and help Calla." The wolf looked up at the roof, and growled. After a moment Firemoon went to walk around the building to see if she could find out how Woodwhisp did it.

Not quite, Haze replied boredly to the other male, grateful that the older wolf didn't go out of his way to submit to him. I was enjoying the peace until the gun shots caught my attention and I decided to investigate, thinking the source of the sound came from someone else... But it would seem I was proved otherwise. The tall wolf's ears flicked back as Calla shot a few more rounds from the pistol. Even though Haze was quite used to the sound of a gun being fired, it was still a sharp pain to his sensitive hearing. The young Beta cast a glance around the small group on the ground. He noticed the other two earth bound-wolves were femme while the other riders (excluding Rayan) were younger than the one on the roof. He parted his jaws in a lazy yawn before taking a seat at the back of the group and turning his attention to the wolf on top of the barrack. Altough I really don't care if the humans shoot at their own species, would you mind telling your rider that I don't appreciate them firing upon our kind? he asked WoodWhisp earnestly while rocking back on his haunches.
Warm air swirled from his nostrils as the rusty-colored wolf sighed exasperatedly. He had half a mind to step on Rayan in hopes to prevent the reckless man from luring more bullets in the direction of the group. However, he wasn't keen on ranking high on the Private's hate-list and was sure Rose probably wouldn't be too pleased if he stepped in on her job.

The sound of the gun shot and quick glance of something landing just missing her paw, Glazedpaw quickly jumped right back onto all four paws. Agitated and fearful Glazedpaw's eye's remained on the roof. Raising the corners of her lips into a defensive snarl, her hair raised and bristled in an attempt to make herself look bigger. "Honestly Woodwhisp control your human! I don't appreciate the gun fire setting off in the middle of the fort. Keep them on the field against the centipedes only!." Glaze had yelled that so intensely she wasn't watching that it was reaching to all the wolves within the area. It was then that she noticed the presence of the beta wolf Haze not far off.
Rubbing a finger into his ear Domonique looked over at Glaze who luckily had just barely managed to escape the bullet landing in her paw. Irritated and annoyed by the constant fire's from her gun, he was secretly amazed that neither girl had managed to hit Rayan. Watching Glaze apprehensively, he turned towards Rayan. "We better get out of here, that gun shot might attract a certain pink wolf." Watching as glaze turned away from the building to wander over towards Haze, he had half a mind to leave the situation himself. Using the annoyance to the gunfire as an excuse for his comfortable position.
Tucking her ears back she approached Haze carefully, "It is odd to see you without your rider, Haze. Are you glad to travel alone for the day?"

A bullet narrowly missed his head, and Rayan was surprised that she actually shot at him without knowing where he was. What if she had hit him? That was probably her aim, but that was hardly the point. He could've been seriously injured, even though that occured often enough that he didn't need Calla's help for it.
"Hey now, stop wasting those bullets. You wouldn't want Damien to find out what you're doing and make you pick up all the shells," he warned the woman on the roof, only because the Captain had actually made some apprentices who were messing around with their guns do that. Looking at Domonique, Rayan laughed as he answered quietly so only the women didnt' hear him. "No, she knows I don't resort to firearms. Rose is probably listening for a woman moaning in pleasure." A smug smirk accompanied that statement.
"And I wouldn't have to worry about being cold if I was sandwiched between you and Calla," Rayan spoke up more cheekily as he winked at Keahi, only to notice the dark look coming from Firemoon - the wolf didn't seem to be very happy with him. Deciding avoidance was the best tactic, he looked back up to the roof where he still couldn't quite see the woman, only the large lump of orange-stained white fur. Being pinned under a wolf couldn't be quite that bad - it was like covering yourself in a warm fur blanket in the winter. That thought, unfortunately, gave him another inappropriate idea.
"Sorry darling, but it seems like Keahi doesn't want to join in our fun," he called up to the roof in a louder voice. A smirk than found a way on his lips. "But I can still take my clothes off and come join you under there." Rayan thought after he spoke that statement, vaguely wondering if the large male wolf would jump on him for saying that. Well, if WoodWhisp did attack him for that comment, then he'd have helped Calla out by getting the wolf off of her.
