The Registration Desk
Upon entering any one of the dozens of locations around Jhoto, Kanto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh dedicated to the pokemon league, the receptionist behind the counter smiles and greets you.
"Welcome to the Pokemon League Registration desk, please place your pokeballs in the six slots over there for the registration of your team. Once your team is registered, and you have your official trainer's card, you can begin your Gym challenges. The league rules are posted over there as well, registering your team means you have agreed to abide by the League rules. This is not an easy road, so good luck!"
This is your welcome to the League challenge. You MUST have registered a team in order to take on any gym in this forum. There is an area for free battles, click here to go to that thread if you have come here by mistake. The free battles area includes a place for League challengees and challengers to post their personal trainer cards for open battle. If you are looking for the battles by level, click here to go to that thread.
If you are watching your progress, click here to skip to the registered trainers section. League Registration:

League Rules
1. You may only challenge four Gyms in one day 2. No duplicate held items allowed. 3. Legendaries allowed, limited to one. Please avoid use where possible. 4. PM your challenge to one of the listed Gym leaders of you do not recieve a response to your challenge post within two days. Please be polite when you do so, as the Gym leaders have lives outside of gaia just like you do. 5. The ONLY permissible hack for pokemon is for shinys. If you hack stats, abilities, levels, or moves, you WILL be banned from the League. Yes, there are ways to tell. 6. You MUST defeat one Gym to challenge another- do NOT have two open challenges at once. 7. Fight with honor (no disconnects if you are losing) 8. You may only use your registered team to battle the Gyms. You may register a bench of four to swap with your primary team. 9. All of your pokemon must be a different species, this means no duplicate pokemon.
Gym Leader Rules
1. All the pokemon are at least partially that gym's type. This means no gyrados in the dragon gym, folks. 2. No duplicate pokemon, same as for the trainers. Your pokemon MUST be different species. 3. Follow all the rules above. 4. Cover as much variety as humanly possible while sticking within your type. No more then two of the same secondary type. 5. No babies- use only fully evolved pokemon. Exception: Scyther and Onix, because steelix and scisor are two very distinctly different pokemon. 6. Not a rule but a strong suggestion- avoid using legendaries in the Gyms! Exception to this rule: the dragon gym, because there simply not enough different dragons to make type variance possible.

The Pokemon League Gym Challenge Tree:
1. You may challenge the Gyms in any order. After you have conquered eight of the gyms, it does not matter which eight, you may take on the Elite Four. This happens at a forced level 50.
2. Defeat the Elite Four at level 50-all. You must have eight Gym badges before doing so.
3. You may now defeat the gyms you did not take on before and challenge the elite four again to enter the Hall of Fame. This happens at a forced level 100.
4. Take on the Elite Four at level 100-all. This places your trainer card in the Hall of Fame.
5. After you have defeated the Elite Four the second time, you may challenge the former Champions in any order. You will battle them in a free battle with pokemon you have raised by hand to levels no higher than ninety-eight, with a maximum of five levels difference between your highest and lowest level pokemon. Each of the Champions has their own ticket signifying that you have indeed defeated them in combat.
6. After you have done all of the above, you might receive a PM, offering one final challenge for you to endure to enter the Hall of Legend.
Pokemon League Bonus Challenges
1. Defeat the Pokemon Level battle challenge thread.
2. Defeat the free battle thread available trainers that are listed- prizes at every 10 trainers defeated.
3. Fight the Gyms as a free level battle, most of the Gyms are hand-raised to float around level 75 and up. Instead of badges, you get shiny pokemon.
4. If you have completed every available challenge in the forum... you get an especially rare prize.

What Is A Legendary Pokemon?
The following is a list of the pokemon considered as legendaries for the purposes of the pokemon league rules. I understand that there is some argument over some of these not being considered true ubers, and there are arguments about other pokemon having better stats. Do not start these arguments here, this is not the place. I am aware of other tier lists, and the metagross/tyranitaur/etc tier, but this is for legendaries only.
Mewtwo Mew (legitimacy will be checked) Celebi (legitimacy will be checked) Articuno Zapdos Moltres Deoxys (all forms) (legitimacy will be checked) Entei Raikou Suicune Lugia Ho-oh Jirachi (Legitimacy will be checked) Groudon Kyogre Rayquaza Latios Latias Regirock Regice Registeel Regigigas Dialga Palkia Giratina Heatran Arceus (banned until an event comes out) Shaymin (legitamacy will be checked) Darkrai (legitimacy will be checked)
How Are You Checking Legitimacy?
Simple enough: There is a limited availability on the pokemon formerly mentioned, with specifics on the level upon import/catch, location caught, and in some cases, original trainer id, number, and pokeball.
By far the simplest to check for legitimacy is Darkrai- I have a legit one. To begin with, the come in an all-red pokeball known as a Cherish Ball. The name of the pokemon and the OT are both in Japanese, and the trainer id corresponds with the movie premiere date. Legitimate darkrai also come with a special ribbon attached. There are other markers, but I am not revealing them unless specifically asked. No, there are no legitimate shiny darkrai.

Prize List
Standard prizes are offered as a choice of pokemon that have very good egg moves, or the one-in-a-game like rotum. Included in this are the hard-to-catch pokemon from the older generations, and pokemon with a low chance to find with pokeradar. Most of these will have been bred from pokemon that have excellent stats and movesets.
Uncommon prizes include Phiones, surfing volt tackle pikachus, and legitimate shiny pokemon.
Rare prizes include lugia and ho-oh, as these are particularly hard to bridge across the generation gap, and legitimate ones are few and far between. Manaphy eggs and shiny starters also fall in this category.
Special Rare prizes are shiny legendaries, and possibly legitimate mew/deoxys/etc dependent upon availability. Current availability: two legitimate Darkrai.
All of the prize pokemon come with either a rare candy, master ball, TM, PP max, or Sacred Ash. Yes, you may request. Master Balls, and Sacred Ashes are dependant upon availability. All prize pokemon and prize items are legit.
