Instead of what one might expect when you hear the name firestorm gym, this is not a place filled with lava, the most primal representation of fire, or walls of flames, or even an abundance of the element in question. Instead, there are candles and luminaries lighting the deep burgundy and ocher gym walls, the scarlet flooring giving a warmth and the illusion of calm heat... The initial entrance to the Gym is lit by two large fire places, one on either side, and the gold and gemstone inlays give the illusion of flickering flames all around and serve to provide enough light to see the three steps that lead to the main Gym floor. In spite of all the smoke that must be generated by the lighting, the air is clear.
You can see where the Gym Leader awaits, though due to the dim nature of the lighting, and the lack of windows along the way, it seems as though the path there is guided by luminaries of crimson paper, cut outs shaped like the flames of a wildfire. The path winds though the Gym, in a very fluid, almost river-esque curve. Copper inlays in the redstone floor gleam eerily, as though you are walking along a path made of flame and light
The gym leader sits in a chair, her pokémon free of their pokéballs, lounged around her. In fact, when you enter, she appears to be napping in the overstuffed, deep crimson monstrosity of a chair- the kind of furniture you would expect to find in a living room more than a gym. As soon as you cross the threshold from the walkway to her abode, her silver eyes seem to gleam out at you as they open. She speaks as she unfolds herself from her chair, her dark clothes making her seem almost like a wraith of smoke amidst the deep surroundings, her eyes seeming illuminated by a fire within as they all but glow.
"Welcome to the firestorm gym, challenger. I hope you came prepared to get burned."
