Not really talking her eyes off of the monster Tjilaki sneaked a quick look at Aokigahara. He was making his way to the third lantern. She internally rooted and cheered him on. She didn't want to do anything to cause him to lose his focus.

She turned her attention to the monster that seemed to be having a temper tantrum. She coved her nose when the monster had opened his mouth and blew out a fog-like smoke that smelled so bad.

She picked up another rock hoping to aim for its head. She was thinking of throwing two more rocks and then use one of the talismans giving to her.

She gave a nod to those around her, as the magic faded from them too. Another burst of purple slammed into the skeleton, and it roared. The scent of rot filled her nose and she coughed heavily, eyes watering. Skoll gagged and bile filled her throat as the smoke passed. Good gods that was disgusting. And the smell! It would not leave her nose, no matter how much she tried to cover her nose.

She had to attack though. Perhaps if she got into the air and out of the smoke, she'd stop trying to evict her lunch.

Skoll launched into the air, but the attack landed awkwardly - no where near the same level of force as before - between her watery eyes and the coughing. Damn.

Oh Tikal did not like that. She did not like the sudden warmth that flooded her body and made her long for the pool back at her house. She opened her mouth to grouse about it, but found that no sound escaped. She like that even less, winding up and throwing the next rock with more force than before.

More force, but less accuracy. It hit, but not the place she'd been aiming for.

She would have complained about that, too, if she could have--

Basiluzzo could at least say he'd done more damage, this time, heartened by the fact that it at least made a more satisfying noise when it hit the giant skeleton. Encke's was more satisfying, of course, but it wasn't a competition.

At least, not yet.

The spirit didn't seem to be fighting him, but they also didn't seem to be moving. They seemed confused, perhaps. Did they not understand him? Get out of the way--

Hydor opened his mouth to complain once again, but he found that the spirit reached out to him instead, laying a hand on his shoulder. He glanced to the hand, wondering what the hell it was doing, but then it disappeared into a thousand little starlights and he felt weirdly...

Warm and fuzzy.

Confident, maybe.

They were both feelings he wasn't used to and he wasn't entirely sure how to respond to either of them, but they did feel him feeling a bit more ready for the fight even as the skeleton seemed to be getting angrier. He didn't mind the sensation of the smoke choking out his lungs, ready to deal with whatever the skeleton fought to throw at them. "Whirling Wrath!"

And to help with that, he threw up the wall of winds around himself, shielding himself while throwing more magic at the enemy.

Anser saw the smile, but it seemed odd and small and she wasn't quite sure what to make of it, her hand hanging just slightly in the air as she pondered asking Cybele if she was doing alright. She didn't get the chance to ask that question, the smoke in the air quickly overwhelming her lungs and she coughed and held her chest as it burned.

She pulled her head up and glared up at the skeleton.

She imagined Cybele was having the same issue and decided to pull herself back a bit closer to Cybele before pulling out one of the talismans and shouting a "Mothers' Geese!" that herself, Cybele, and the nearby guardian cat would soon feel the benefits of.

Well.

After a flock of geese loudly honked at the skeleton, anyway.

It seemed her temporary charge did recognize the senshi who provided the boost, though she wasn't entirely sure if the senshi who provided the boost recognized her back. She squinted. That was a little unexpected--

And so was the nasty smoke that took over her lungs.

The manx cat found herself giving some little kitty coughs of displeasure, curling up toward herself and growling at the skeleton to show how little she appreciated that. But then Anser went backing up, and she found herself shifting her gaze between the skeleton and Anser before bounding after her.

Well.

Until she heard Anser say her attack.

After a delighted whoop, she focused her attention on the skeleton and shot out a beam of energy.

"I'll be fine!"

Encke heard it, but he didn't quite hear it. His gaze was elsewhere, despite the skeletal anger and the floating spirits and the general noise and ruckus. Something was deeply appealing about the woods. He wanted to see them. Get closer to them. He wanted to know what the wilds of Saturn were like. He had only ever been to Scholomance, a place that was very much not of the wilds. This was different.

The secrets it could hold.

Was there something sparkling in there? Could he see the leaves move? Could he see the way the trees bent in the breeze of their battle?

It felt like they were calling out to him, and he reached out to them before suddenly he remembered his own words, Basiluzzo's own words, and he yanked himself back to the ground before he actually launched off into them like a fool.

He shook his head, jumped, and refocused by launching a, "Full Ionization!" off in the direction of the skeleton.

Ara helped Charybdis shield her eyes against all the lights and attacks, and the chibi stood bravely-ish at the side of her older companions, knight and senshi. "I am fine!" she called back to Ara, who had been previously knocked over by one of the weird ghost-spirit-things; "Are you okay? Voyager?"

Calling out once again- "Shiny Pup!" Charybdis tried hard to keep up with the drain of power from using her attack again. She would only have one more use after this- then she'd have to throw rocks like the Pages.

Damage Dealt: 5

The blows of damage striking her shield knocked Imbrium's arms over and over again, and she shoved her shield up, channeling the ice wall through the blows. But her energy pool was only for a brief moment, and the attacks kept coming. And the blows were painful, and constant. The red-haired Squire groaned under the impact and finally was forced to lower her shield, energy flagging; as a last act of defiance, Imbrium took said shield and yote it at the giant skeleton with a strangled battle cry. She might have been able to do more for the group if only the attacks hadn't been so constant.

That was what happened when people used puns as weapons, she supposed. Hopefully her shield would be more effective.

Throwing a hand over her eyes she could still somehow feel the light from Hyperborea's magic.

"Rock on, Alphie," she called encouragingly to the Knight, "You got this."

Bane SCYLLA: You feel a strange rattling breath on the back of your neck, creating a distraction. -1 to your roll for this round.

The pain of the blow distracted her, and Scylla was going to try and convince Puck to back up with her still further, when there was... something.. behind her. Squealing, Scylla weakly chucked a stone at the skeleton, dancing back and looking behind her. If her wisp had a head, maybe it would have looked behind her too. Or maybe it was- it didn't have a head, after all. But what Scylla could see?

Was Nothing.

No; she had FELT that breath. Shuddering, like bones clacking- but bones didn't breathe. And- ugh. Ugh, ugh.

Hyperborea's light eventually ran out as her magical reservoir drained, she was breathing a little bit harder at this point. But she also had other reservoirs of magic different from her weapons magic and so she ran a thumb over her signet ring. A silvery sheen of starlight covered her body, She hoped this monster was akin to a creature of chaos so that her aspect actually hurt it.

She started to rain blows down on the gigantic leg bones when the monstrous skeleton let out a billowing cloud of dark, clinging fog, in retribution for the attacks the group was raining down on it. Thankfully someone's magic shielded her. She wasn't sure who had done it but she was thankful for their assistance.
