Zalir blinked and smiled at the Geist. Zey was not used to this sort of offer--not from a peer. From an adult, maybe, but they rarely ever meant it. From a peer, though, it meant something else entirely... Did this mean they were friends? Was this how making a friend happened? Zalir had never had a friend before, not for more than a week or two. So maybe this would wear off in a while. Yes, that was probably what would happen. Anyway, zey wasn't really sure how to find Vaden's dorm room--zey could barely navigate the junior dorms, let alone the senior dorms for an entirely different house. "Um, that's very...and I'd love to talk to you more, but, um, how...would I find your dorm...?"
Zey held the jelly out for inspection, watching as it bumped lazily against the plastic barrier. It almost seemed to glow with its bright colors. "Is Charo an Aetherjelly?" zey asked. "And, um, I'd love to go there. I guess I'm going to need some food. I'm not sure if I could support a jelly now." Zey blushed, especially when the Fallen behind the counter made a face. "S-sorry! I just, I don't use magic often, and they feed on magic, and I love it, I really do, it's so pretty, I've never had a pet before, thank you! But I want to do right by him." Zey brushed their hair back in front of their face in embarrassment. "Um."
Anything to get away from the awkwardness. The lovely jelly tucked back into zeir shoulderbag, zey followed Vaden to the hat game. Zey smiled at Vaden. "Could just be a coincidence, though? Maybe...maybe your luck is just in the process of evolving. Maybe you should try again--we could draw together?"

"Eldritch Building B, second floor, room 204." he said giving the Litch what was essentially his address. "I...assume you know where the Eldritch dorms are?" he hoped he hadn't insulted the Litch, but it was fair to ask. Just because you'd lived somewhere your whole life didn't mean you knew where everything was located, and he wasn't sure how much mingling outside of festivities like these, that students from different houses actually intermingled. It had to be often though, right? It would seem strange if they were all so isolated.
Vaden shook his head. "Charoite is a flitterat, actually. She's a sweet little lady." he said rather fondly. "They feed on magic passively, trust me you'd put out enough to feed this lovely fella, but if that makes you uncomfortable, buying enchanted crystals is the way to go. I once knew a girl that refused to let wisps be around her, because she didn't like the idea of them feeding off of her. It made some social gatherings very awkward." Vaden said forehead furrowing a bit. "But that's not here or there." he paused for a moment. "I wonder if you'll be able to find a bucket or something to put it in at least for tonight...it won't do well if it has to stay in that bag until tomorrow...Probably a janitor or grounds keeper that's got a spare around here somewhere." he said looking around. "We can go look later."
Vaden shrugged. "It's possible?" he chuckled a bit and nodded. "Sure we can do that." he said and prepared to draw a new slip with the Litch.
Feeling refreshed, Zahneel darted back out into the crowd. She hit three game tables in a row, determined to enjoy herself.
It was only when she stepped away from the third that she realized that in the midst of all the fun she'd been having she'd won another pretty glow necklace. Thinking hard, she looped it carefully around her tail, gave an experimental wag to be sure it wouldn't come off, and satisfied on that point, continued to duck and dart around, looking for more fun.
Kobe looked at his two prizes with a smile before putting them back into his backpack. He wondered if he could even muster enough luck to even win another one. His tail swished a bit as his ears perked. He could do this! But first... Dessert! He scampered to the food table, picking out some delicious sweets to devour. Mnn... chocolate covered strawberries!! Delicious! Though chocolate was never as good as caramel! Kobe's mouth watered at the thought of caramel covered strawberries then wondering what if would actually taste like... would it even taste good? Caramel apples were yummy so why not all other fruit? Once he was done, he moved to check out the games again.

He nodded a little. It did sound like a predicament, hopefully someone was in a panic because they lost their little winged friend. Arden nodded, putting on a polite smile with minimal teeth. "Games sound like fun," the Chimera informed, not really in the mood for food. He had just come over here for some breathing space.
Supporting his Vespercat's rear as he walked, Arden lead to the nearest booth with a short line. He turned to look at Sorren over his shoulder, gesturing with a nod of his head. "Short line, means they'll be dying for a winner," he teased, letting her step in line before him.
Kaoru wandered around, simply observing the other students. It was kind of rare for the entire academy to come together like this, so he thought it was a great opportunity to research the various fashions the students and teachers wore. He'd been kind of stuck thinking of any new designs for his current assignment, so this was a good way of getting fresh ideas.
He spotted a few familiar faces - students he shared classes with - but nobody that he was actually on closer terms with. Then again, he mostly kept to himself anyway.
Since there were so many games available, he decided to give the ring toss a try. He wasn't really the best at this kind of thing, but surprisingly enough he managed to get the rings right on target! Maybe it was just his lucky day. As his prize, he was given a beautiful, cookies-and-cream colored Vespercat. The creature almost instantly began to purr when he scratched its chin, and the imp's face melted into a childlike smile. Thanking the game booth staff, he continued to look around, his new friend safely tucked into his arms.
After taking a break for quite a while, Victoria finally chose to go ahead and try her luck again. After all, those skyfish were so cute! However, unable to really get her skills in tact, she pouted, left with a single plush cat. It was purple at least....
Zalir wasn't sure what zey had expected--zey had asked for a room number, and indeed zey got it. Had zey been expecting a rebuff? Zey took note--EldB204--and nodded. "Thank you," zey said. "I know where the Eldritch dorms are, I think. If not, I can ask." Zey really hoped it didn't come to that, though--asking people was, um, not zeir favorite thing to do. Zey could get laughed at, or questioned, and then zeir nerve would completely die. It wouldn't be necessary, though--there were maps around campus, in case students or staff members got lost.
"Oh, a flitterat. Flitterats are very cute. And I'll do that. I'm not sure how much magic I can provide until I learn magic, even passively." Zey didn't want zeir first pet to die--especially one so pretty as this one! "I could ask, I guess. Um, probably should do that sooner rather than later--some of the janitors can be a little...scary at night." Night janitors tended to be more cranky, more focused on their work. Zeir experience had generally been that the day janitors were more understanding.
"But, um, maybe in another...half an hour or so?" Would that be too much time? Or not enough? Zey wanted to see if zey could win more prizes, but zey didn't want to do that at the cost of zeir little friend...
Zey dipped zeir hand in the hat and grabbed the third slip their claws nudged up against.

The adult Litch inspected the card. "No. Sorry, that's not one of the lucky numbers."
Laurel happily paid the man behind the ring toss counter for a game and threw his rings quickly. He watched, sadly, as all three turned out to be misses and moved to snuggle one of his plushies. Aw, well, better luck next time!

"You're welcome." he said and then made a face. "I hate asking for directions to be honest. It is a necessary evil though. I spent the first week on campus getting lost, and that was with a map." he sighed and shook his head.
Vaden shrugged. "Depends on the person, but if you're that worried about it, we'll get it handled." he paused and listened to Zalir. He hadn't had much contact with the Academy's evening staff and had no frame of reference for how scary they were or weren't. He nodded though. "Another half an hour won't hurt the Jelly. You can keep aquatic animals in a bag for a while. Otherwise you'd never be able to transport them without a lot of fuss."
Vaden turned and slipped his own hand into the hat again with the Litch and grabbed the first one he got a good hold of.

Vaden pulled out the slip and flipped it over to the attendant.
"Pick one of these." they said motioning.
Vaden frowned a bit and then picked up the bag of candy. Better than nothing, and at least it wasn't another toy.
Alright, second ring was a fail. She wasn't even close to getting it on the pole. Perhaps her negative thinking had caused her to miss? It was a possibility, but then again maybe she had just thrown it wrong.
Using up her two rings for the game, she moved on to another, noticing the group she had been talking with in the line earlier looking at her and pointing, a few giggles coming from them before looking away to go back to their food. Candy had no doubt that they were talking about her horn, fingers grasping the skirt of her dress some to help her stay in character. She wasn't the shy boy anymore. She was the enthusiastic and sometimes kooky Candy.
Getting through the next line for yet another game, she was handed three soft balls that she had to throw in order to knock down the tower of steel bottles down. Preparing her aim, she let out a sigh and tried to push away the thoughts of what that group thought, once she thought she had done so throwing the first soft ball.
He was supposed to be getting back with the food. Well Yue was supposed to be getting back with the food but then carrying for four people wasn’t the easiest thing so Morin had volunteered to go with her. Only apparently Lerin and nasai had been swept into the crowd and Yue just had to try this game…. Which she of course won. “Sorry, it was just the prizes where adorable… here you should take it home. You definitely don’t have enough personal things in that room of yours” Yue smiled handing over a plushie. There now Morin’s collection would have new friends.
She smiled broadly back at him as the two of them walked towards the games. She looked back to both her Vespercat and the second one following. She kept an eye on them as she walked, making sure that hers didn't get lost like the second one seemed to have.
She laughed. "Well let's not keep them waiting, have to give the people what they want." she teased back as she took her place in line. They didn't have to wait long before it was both of their turn. This game was a ring toss game, where you had to get the ring around the top of a bottle. Her first try Sorren got it, earning her another familiar!
"Looks like I did take your beginners luck." she said with a laugh as she picked one of the aquatic familiars to be sent to her dorm.
"Yes, the campus maps are not really the best maps in the world," Zalir said. "Someone decided to label all the buildings by their legal names, which, um, pretty much nobody but the administrators use. It's much more helpful to tell someone where the Enoch dorms are than to tell them to look for the Chalven Building. I wish they would fix that, but then I guess their sponsors would be unhappy or something. Um, if you still need help, I would, um, be happy to help?" Zey really would be, too--zey had rarely had a chance to help people, and for someone like Vaden? Zey would be very happy to help him indeed!
"Th-that makes sense. But it's a little different, I think, when it's your own pet that's at stake." Zalir reached into zeir bag to stroke the plastic bag the jelly floated in. Zey thought that zey felt something bump up against zeir finger from inside, but it was probably just zeir imagination.
Zey pulled out another piece of candy and popped it in zeir mouth. "Congratulations!" Zalir said. "One more try, and then we can move on to the next booth?"

Zey held out the piece of paper to the Litch behind the counter for inspection. The Litch shook their head. "Sorry, that's not one of the prize numbers."
Zalir nodded. "I guess this booth isn't my place," zey said to Vaden. "Or....maybe I used up all my luck with the jelly?"

Vaden rolled his eyes. "That sure explains a lot. I was wondering why none of the buildings matched up, doesn't help that their 'official' name is in small font on the plaques out front." he sighed and nodded. "Most likely, patrons are fickle creatures, and the slightest thing out of place and they're likely to have a temper tantrum the likes that a Freshling would envy."
Vaden glanced over and smiled a bit. "I am ever in need of directions, I'll be sure to ask you." he said.
Vaden could understand the Litch's worry over the jelly. He'd spent most of his flight over consoling Charo. She'd been a little shaken up over traveling.
Vaden considered and then nodded. "Sure," as he reached in for another slip.
