around Gaia by general members and also quoted from the official thread in main Q&F
About the only thing I dont cover in here, is Item glitches... cause there are too many sweatdrop

Please also read this ENTIRE thread before reporting a problem in this sticky or main forum
If the problem is listed, dont report it... it just makes it alot easier on us sweatdrop

I've stopped doing daily updates like before... now the "Today`s Updates" area is
now the "Latest Information/Updates" area, cause i'm updating daily, but i'm keeping

If you find any bugs or glitches that are not reported, or you would like to add more information to an existing bug or glitch, please post here to describe it, in detail (Any links or pictures is greatly appreciated). Also, please post here if you find that the admins have already fixed some of the glitches (and have already announced it), but I haven't got around to updating the changes yet.

Anything listed under the "Major" setting are usually critical problems that are most likely being worked on immediately by the admins. These problems can totally effect your online experience on Gaia. Anything listed under the "Minor" setting are issues that are still annoying and bothersome, but are not threatening to Gaia as a whole, and may be worked on at a later time.

Entries that have a * (Asterisk) at the end, means it was copied from the Official List in Q&A

Problems that are newly reported or updated about this week

Resolved Problems
Problems that should be resolved or have not been reported about in awhile

Gold Counter
The gold counter by the top of the gaia banner, near the logout banner has been reportedly not showing with proper amount. However some have reported that this problem is easily taken care of by logging out and logging back in, as that will seem to reset the counter and show it at the correct count. You can also view the proper amount of gold while you are in stores, however that way will only show the proper amount in the stores, it does not fix the main counter at the top by the banner.
Old Maintanence Issues still unresolved
1. The FAQ page is now currently containing alot of broken URLs since the remapping.

Password Recovery - Database Error
Apparently for some people when trying to recover a password using the Password Recovery feature, they are encountering errors after entering all the correct information, mostly along the lines of being 'unable to retrieve user data'
Thread Subscription Problems
With the thread subscriptions coming back up, it appears there are still problems with it, these are the problems that appear to still be affecting people:
- Members are logged out when trying to add/delete subscribed threads to their lists
- Some members are having threads disappear from their lists
- Some members are supposedly unable to add any to their list at all although they stay logged in
- New members are unable to subscribe to threads period
- Some users are unable to unsubscribe to threads from the Subscribed Threads page
- Threads Disappear at times if you view your subscribed threads list within a few minutes of the last reply made to it
Gaia Polls - Error in Posting
Currently there is a glitch in poll creating/editing where you cannot use any ' character (that being an apostraphe) or else you will get an error.
GAIA Journals - Journal Listings
Apparently the google ads are back in the Journal Listings page, even for donators, which is now making the three links for type of Journal listings disappear.

Re-Create Character
Users are experiencing a glitch with re-creating their avatar after deleting it. The image to re-create their character shows up reversed and isn't clickable. The blue border around the image though, is clickable, or users can simply use this url: http://reinhart.gaiaonline.com/profile/character.php to re-create their characters.

Arethic
Minor side note. Its best recommended to use the following:
Internet Explorer for Windows OS or Safari for Mac systems
Those are the browsers recommended to use for atleast the character recreation
Multi-position items that don't display all equip options *
Many users are noticing issues with having several multi-position items in their inventory and the options to equip in various positions only showing up on one of them. Workarounds have been found, and are listed in this thread:

Moderator Lists Blank
Currently the View Forum Moderator pages are all blank without showing the appropriate staff for forums. There is a Moderators List where you can find what moderators belong to what forum:

GGN 2.0 Upgrade
Its been mentioned in the Captains Guild and possibly other places that the update to GGN 2.0 will be starting most likely this week. Its been noted that during this upgrade the GGN may be down/unaccessable during this time, and while the GGN is still accessable its been noted that the GGN might lag some during other updates to it for finalizing of the GGN 2.0.
UPDATE: Essentially with the new GGN out, the list of the old glitches essentially has been resolved it does seem, so listing them here resolved all at once (Please note that i'll try to get a full thorough list up from Dark's reporting sticky when I can on exactly what IS still a current problem and new and what not):

2. Deleting Posts
  Be very careful when you click the delete button in a guild for a post, especially if its the first post of the thread. Currently there is a glitch where whether you click Yes or No, it will delete it either which way, so if you accidently click the delete button and didn't want to, make sure to click the Back button in the browser, Do Not click "No"
3. Creating a Guild Glitch
  Some people have noted that upon creating their guilds, that they were not added to the memberlist, leaving the guild without the captain, leaving the guild unaccessable for most options.
4. Polls Error(GGN/Forums Glitch)
  There is a glitch in the coding where its not properly processing apostraphe's in poll title/options, so you cant use the ' character at all at this time.
5. New Topic Button
  If you are in a thread in your guild, and go to make a new topic, there is a good chance you will be booted back to the GGN Guilds Index Page.
6. Pagination - Deleted Pages
  There is currently a glitch were as when you delete alot of posts from threads, or eventhreads from a forum apparently, that pagination doesn't actually go back to show the lack of pages.
7. Topic Locking - Header Image
  When you delete/lock/unlock a topic in your guild, the header image instead of being the Default GGN banner, shows up as the market place banner.
8. Not Enough Gold - Join Glitch
  Some people report that no matter what amount of gold they have set as the join amount, some members still are fedback with the error of not having enough gold to join.

In regards to some members not being able to click store items, please read this thread for more information:

Login Problems *
Some members are logging into Gaia only to recieve a temporary IP lockout. This is standard when a password is misguessed multiple times, but is happening with one or no false guesses. Users do gain access after the 15 minute ban is up and they are not being locked out of the site altogether.

The following message may or may not show up before the ban:

WARNING - repeated failures will result in your IP being banned. Use the password recovery feature if you have forgotten your password, or e-mail gaia@anihq.com for assistance.
This is happening to several people, it will be looked in to asap.

Blank Pages and More
People are encountering errors while browsing GAIA Online, the most common being the 'Blank Page' in IE, while others using other browsers are encountering 'Bad Request' and 'Method Not Implemented' errors.
If you refresh it should resolve the problem, but it may take you back to what looks like the forum index page and make it look like you are logged off, which you may not be, if you just refresh again or click on a link to another page you should show up as logged in again. Administration have been made aware of this glitch.
Graphics Related Problems - Firefox
There have been some reports of Firefox Browser not loading graphics properly from GAIA Online, such as avatars, buttons and such not showing up. There is a workaround walkthrough listed here:

Events Error
Some users have noticed that the link when a random event pops up is not showing up at the bottom of the page. In addition, the eek face may not be showing up for random events. Expect glitches.

Terradi
The pattern I'm getting reported to me about rare events is as follows:

Blue giftbox: just box, no face, no link
Pinklink: pinklink, no face no link
Trunk: trunk, face, no link
Pink giftbox: ?

No one's said whether or not the pink giftboxes are acting as normal so that's still iffy at the moment. 3nodding
Script Debugging Errors
People using Internet Explorer browsers at times are getting "Script Debugging Error" messages, that show up in certain areas of the site, such as moving the mouse over building on the map, the subscriptions page, and the "Close tags" button in the reply boxes, and possibly other areas.

You can workaround the annoyance of this message that pops up by doing this:

Script Debugging
Tools >> Internet Options (click)

Go to the Advanced tab, and check the "Disable Script Debugging" checkbox.
Javascript Error
Tools >> Internet Options (click)

Go to the Advanced tab, and un-check the "Display a Notification about every script error" checkbox.
No Gold for Referrals!
In the "Grow Gaia" section (you can access by clicking the text link at the very bottom of this page), it mentions that you get 50 gold plus "a chance to win special items!" In actuality, you get a (little) better chance of getting a rare that day, and no gold. Unfortunately, the admins haven't got around to change that yet. sweatdrop

GAIA Journals - Template Glitch
One of the templates (I believe its Gaia Site v2) and the mix of the Weblog setting, cause the Journals not to display properly for new members, apparently this isn't a problem with older members or those already using this particular style, but is common amongst new members. If you come across using any particular settings and they end up causing an error where no entries show up and your avatar loads as a red X, then just choose a different style.
UPDATE: Due to a recent coincedence trying some glitch testing with my journal, I believe I found the cause to this problem. If you delete the most recent post in your journal it will cause this problem where when you go specifically look at your journal by uID, not pID, it will show the big blank area where the post should be and the avatar comes up as a red x. To resolve this, just make a new entry.
Memberlist - New members
Currently new members that have registered with gaia since a certain time (Still not exactly sure when) are not showing up on the member list when either searched for or by looking at the full list.
UPDATE: The memberlist now for the majority is finally showing a high majority of members, but there are still members missing at random parts of the memberlist for some reason.
GAIA Housing - Missing Button
The button in the profiles and tool panel underneath siggy areas in posts is currently missing the View members house button. You can still view other member's housing by placing the uID of the member you wish to see at the end of this string:

To get a members uID number, just click the profile button and grab their number from after the u= part of the URL.
Profiles not saving
This appears to be a problem that is reported by a few people every so often, its a small and random glitch affecting random members, where they can go into their Edit Profile page, but cannot save any information they enter for the Location, Interests, etc, this is noted to be a side affect if anyone tries to use characters other than a-z, A-Z, 0-9 in those boxes.
New Posts Icon Not Working
This has actually been going on for a long time now. For many users, the icons on threads do not show when there have been new posts since their last login. The icon only seems to change to indicate new posts made after these users have logged in.

This also causes the 'new announcement' notice not to show up for the announcements forum if a new post has been made since they last logged in.
UPDATE: Is now confirmed as still a problem with some members, so its staying in an updated and not resolved status

Remember those letters from Gambino after the Anniversary ball stuff?
I went and looked at my post I recieved, then I went to click on 'okay' to go back to my inventory.

Just thought people should know that gaia has an improper link.

Basically, if users click on their anniversary Gambino picture to view, then press "Ok," they will be redirected to an error link.
Mysterious Birthday switching!
In your profile, when you type in what your birthday is, some users are experiencing a problem in which the birthday is incremented or decremented by one day upon saving. It seems to only occur when inputting either 31 December 1988 or 31 December 1984.

No avatar in 'Customize Me' page
There is a glitch where when trying to save the avatar in the "Customize Me" page, the avatar is not showing up, no image or anything. Such as in this example edited screen shot:

No method in working around this problem right now, just please wait for it to be resolved
UPDATE: Its possible with the Avatar 3.0 System released, this is no longer a problem, though i've not been able to confirm it at this time, if you still do have this problem, please report it in the forum here or even in my sticky so I know wether to list this as resolved or not.

Cross Gender/No Avatar (Registering)
Apparently some new accounts when registering are finding that when they go into their inventory, that they have items of the opposite gender, this mostly being newly registered male accounts apparently, tis possible that female registered accounts are having the same problem though, at this time most you can do is sell the opposite gender items and buy appropriate gender items.
Also, some people are reporting when going into their Customize me Page, that it says they do not have an avatar generated, that they need to create one, if you get that message or some other error such as "The base model for your avatar does not exist. please reconfigure your avatar", please try to create a new avatar here:

Avatar saving is laggy *
Avatar saving appears to be working...however, it seems that it is taking a while (15+ min? or more) for the new avatar to show up on the site. The cause of this is unknown, but it may be due to strain on the profile server. Please refrain from repeatedly trying to save if you receive the message that your avatar was saved successfully. And at times it may not be working completely.
Update: Flood Control seems to be activated even if you haven't saved your avatar recently. This is preventing avatars from being saved.

Apparently the bank is now not working at all for most members. Please note if it IS working for you, at all, that the bank is now officially designated as Use At Your Own Risk
UPDATE: For the people having the "Error Removing Items from Inventory, refresh trade window and try again" problem, along with other trading problems when including items, its said that if you include either a gold or a few gold, it should send the trade, either that or one item at time also works sometimes.
Marketplace Error - Buy failed *
Some users have reported recently that when attempting to buy something in the marketplace, their gold was taken, but the bid or buy failed and did not go through. This seems to result in their gold disappearing while the item remains up for sale and the seller does not receive the gold. Use the marketplace at your own risk at the moment. If this happens to you, you will likely not get your gold back.
Updated Information on Marketplace Errors

"Your Store is Full"
Some users are getting an error message: "There were one or more errors while processing your request Sorry, your store is already full" though their store has less than four items in it. If you experience this, you please contact a moderator and they should be able to help you with it.

Transaction Locks #1/Expired Items
Update Mar 7: Locks should now not last longer than about two days. If you get a lock on an item that fails to clear up within two days, please report it in the Transaction Reports Thread
The transaction locks affecting a majority of Gaians occurs when an action taken in the marketplace 'fails'. This causes the item to be locked, and does not allow any further modification to the item listing by buyers or by the seller. The item also 'expires' but remains in the marketplace. The seller cannot confirm/accept bid or do anything else with the locked item. This is a known issue and is being looked into.

Extra Info
More Expired Items
There are also items that were placed up for 'auction' and do not automatically send to the highest bidder when the time expires, and require the seller to go in an manually 'accept' the bid. You can tell the difference between this and a transaction locked item by viewing the item history and seeing whether or not the last action on the item says, "Fail!" If it doesn't say fail, the seller might be able to manually accept the bid!

Transaction Locks #2/Unable to sell
The second transaction lock prevents sellers from placing any item into their vend stores. This is also being looked into, but we have less information on it. If you have a vend account and get a transaction lock error everytime you try place something for sale, please report in this thread:

User Shops refusing to Update *
When some users try editing the description of their shop, the message "Invalid Entry, please click back and choose a reasonable name and description." appears.
Workaround: To fix this try changing the name of your shop at the same time you edit the description. Simply changing that description as well as changing the name allowed seems to allow the description to go through. After that feel free to go back and change your shop name back to whatever it originally was.
Blank name trades *
Some users have been reporting glitches where trades in their pending trades list at the bank not only show no subject line, but also blank out the name of the other user they are trading with. A workaround has been found for this, as described below. Note: This workaround works best if the blank name trade is the ONLY trade currently in your pending trades.
**If your trade shows a name of the user you are trading with, but no subject line, you can click on the name to access the trade.

For IE: In the top menu, click view / source

For Firefox you just have to press right click and "V" over any part of the page or right click with your mouse.. and select in the menu "View page source"

Then, search with "control + F" (search) this line:
bank.php?mode=trade&trade_id=
That line should appear.. but at the end it will have the ID number we are searching for.

Next:
Copy the part: "bank.php?mode=trade&trade_id=NUMBER" and add it to the URL I posted as the base. (top of this post... paste it without the "" thingys)

You'll get a link like this:

Multiple Art Arena Issues
Brimmy
- Cannot Delete
  I still am unable to delete the image that wasn't accepted. It goes to the delete/edit page and when I click delete, it goes back to the main arena page.
- Cannot Add Art
  I am now unable to enter art completely. It does not tell me that I'm over my limit or anything (I shouldn't be, I haven't tried submitting anything since the 23rd). It just goes back to the main arena page without giving any kind of confirmation, and the entry doesn't show up in my list.
- Unable To Vote
  I am also unable to vote on any pictures. Clicking on a rating just brings me back to the main arena page.
- Editing submitted photos
  I submitted a drawing and accidentally skipped a subfolder when writing the URL. I realized my mistake just after I hit send. I tried to hit edit/delete and all I got was returned back to viewing other member's art. Each time I went back to my submissions, the post in question was still there and clicking on it did the same thing. I would have fixed the address in the submission if I had been able to.
- Deleting submitted photos
  Same as above. Because I was unable to edit my submission, the ability to delete it would have been nice. I came back after an hour or so and I still had the same problem. Because this image wouldn't disappear, I was unable to submit another on or resubmit this one correctly.
- Submission Limits
  I do not know if not being able to delete my problem post was a glitch or just an oversight in the system, but I do not think that it should have counted towards my limit of two images. The system should either let you edit your posts in case you make a mistake or allow you to submit something else on the same day to replace any posts that were declined. I do not think its fair to have people like me who just made an honest mistake to be penalized for it.
- Daily Submission limits
  I understand your need to limit members to two posts a day, but I was wondering what constitutes a day? My submission was approved on February 22nd, it is now a quarter of the way through the 23rd. Shouldn't I be able to submit new images today?
Cannot Report Dead Links
When clicking on the "dead link" text link next to the the site link in question, you get an error message that reads:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: () in /home/admin/public_html/links/index.php on line 171

Not sure if this is part of the admins' fixing of the Link List. Will post more information as it develops.

Fishing Buckets are not always saved (D bait?) *
Users are reporting that when fishing with D bait, although the scores are recorded, the fish are not being saved to their inventory. There have been a few reports that indicate it may not only be D bait as well. There are no known workarounds for this at the moment.
UPDATE: Possibly not a problem anymore, trying to find out from active fishers if its still be a problem recently

Journal Rollback to December
This seems to be just a temporary glitch, but there is a glitch affecting people where it seems to roll there entire journal back to december entries.
It seems from what people have noted though, that if you make a couple of journal entries everything should eventually show up again.
UPDATE: Relisted as a problem again.
GAIA Storyline
Currently the story line plot in the Isle de Gambino when clicked is giving a message that reads "Tsk Tsk Tsk". There is currently no workaround for this problem.

About the Gold Gained from Gaia Polls
There is no glitch, there was a glitch in the poll system for the last three months that were allowing you to recieve 10 gold for every vote, however thats not how it used to be.

Now the system is back to its original way which is like this:

10 gold for the first 10 votes within a 24 hour period, after the first 10 votes within a 24 hour period, you only make 1 gold for each vote after it seems.

For the past few months there had been bugs related to the gold granting system. In particular there had been no cap placed on responding to polls.

The bug had been fixed now, and on top of that the cap to how many polls will grant gold is also changed. The main focus on the new algorithm is to allow more reward for active users and less for mule or secondary accounts.

Marketplace - Selling Items

Before anything, Read the Market Place FAQ

A little tip on selling items, due to a minor glitch with commas in selling items

The correct way to enter prices in the market:
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

This is the wrong way on entering prices for an item:
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

Now, this is where you really need to make sure, this is the reason of the Confirmation Screen.
To make sure your pricing is all good and all, you really should review the page first before confirming.

Now if you did the price right, you should see this:
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

If you did not enter the price right, you will see this confirmation page:
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

Notice the price difference? Thats the reason for the confirmation page ^_^

Memberlist blank
The memberlist currently isn't showing any members, this happens sometimes and it will be resolved as soon as it can be.
Profiles Down
Currently Profiles are down. This includes Editing/Viewing Profiles, Customize Me, and the General Inventory.
Please be patient and staff will most likely try to resolve it and bring it all back up as soon as they can.
EDIT: It was mentioned in the Q&A in the Journals being down thread, to not try and purchase any hair styles at this time.
Possible glitch causing Extra Gold Accumilation
Due to a few reports (where as I really don't want to take the chance to let it go) where people have reported major jumps in gold counts, and making a large extra per post gold accumilation, i've made this thread for people to report in, before it gets to the point another Economical rollback is required >_<;

Avatar Image Glitches
Apparently something happened last night which caused avatars to either rollback to a rather older image from awhile back, or gives them the Red-X avatar like i've currently got.
The way to work around this is simply to just go into your inventory (customize me page), un-equip all, and start re-equiping. For those still having troubles equping, such as getting a red-x in the little preview box, it seems clyde is being difficult again, so use this thread in order to work around that problem:

Marketplace Not loading
Currently the market place is having some issues where it isn't showing the main section of the market place or is giving off some sort of page error. It will be resolved as soon as they can resolve it.
Faceless Fishers - GAIA Fishing
Apparently in Single player and Multiplayer fishing, players faces on their avatars are not showing. Where the face of the avatar usually is you just see the shadow face.

Last Login Date - May 2002? eek
Apparently a good few members have noticed in their friendslist, friends of theirs, or even their own personal accounts... that its showing up as last login dates of May 2002. Not sure exactly why this is doing this or when it started exactly, but its definitly odd since GAIA Forums were not around in May of 2002. Just be patient and hopefully this will be resolved soon.
Journal Database Glitch
Journals are apparently giving Database glitches when viewing some journals or comments. Please be patient and they will get them resolved as soon as they can.
UPDATE: For those trying to read comments in their journal or other members' journals, there is a workaround for it where if you click the "Add" link, it will allow you to view other comments as they still do load under the Comments Box.
Randomly Missing Items
With the release of the new system, it seems that some people are having vanishing items. Please confirm any trades and your bank/vending logs to make sure nothing unauthorized was done, and if thats all clear, please look at the Lost Items reporting sticky in Q&A for more information on reporting.
Thank you letters - Sealed again
There is a glitch causing the past few months, perhaps longer than that, the letters to have become Sealed letters again. Please be careful when trading and/or doing marketplace sales, to make sure you aren't selling the incorrect months letter.
PM 2.0 Problems!
The newest release of the Private Message (PM) sytem has its share of problems. For more information, and to report any problems, please go to the *link removed* Thread
UPDATE: Old problem, no longer really taking reports into that thread.
Here is a minor break down of the current problem that really is affecting most people still, The Phantom PM Bubble, meaning you will get the PM notification where as you don't actually have a PM. This is a known problem still affecting alot of people, they will resolve it when they can, please don't report it.
My posts were timewarped! *
After implementation of the new forum code, posts in many threads that had been edited were reverted to former versions of the posts. It is unknown at this time whether or not these 'timewarped' posts will eventually be restored to the most recent versions as of the time of the forum code going live.
Migration and Pagination
Currently the Migration and Pagination phases are still occurring. This being the processes which were happening since the forum re-code and the beginning of the migration process a week or so back and will continue throughout this weekend and possibly a little after that.
- Migration: Threads being migrated are the ones which are probably still missing, or haven't shown back up yet.
- Pagination: This happens to the threads which are out of the migration, but might appear to be missing some pages, or at times give you an error along the lines of "Thread is being paginated, please try again later"
Flood Control Error
A few members have been reporting problems with flood control on the forums, where it is not letting them post anymore due to thinking they recently just posted, staff is aware and is looking into it.

Saving Avatar - Red X
Some people are reporting when trying to go into their Customize Me page that their avatar is showing up as a 'Red X' image place holder, currently there is some workaround information available in this thread:

Threads - Swissed </bad pun>
Apparently alot of the older threads from around on gaia are giving off database errors, mainly Swiss database errors, and different ones, such as Swiss.1 or Swiss.3, perhaps they are doing something to segment databases to let things go faster or the like, dunno, just give it some time and they will resolve it as soon as they can ^_^
UPDATE: Apparently the threads which were giving Swiss.# errors earlier are now giving Pagination Errors, there is no estimated time to when these might be resolved.
Arranger Won't Save *
When attempting to save changes with the inventory arranger, users are getting an error message that reads: "ALERT Your inventory has changed since you loaded the inventory arranger. Please reload and begin again." Reloading doesn't seem to help, so no saves can be done at the moment
Unable to confirm creation of Guild
Some users report that they are not able to confirm creation of new guilds, despite having the 20k required to create one. There are no known fixes at this time.
Market - Sort by
Once again apparently the "Sort By" function is not working. Please be patient as there isn't a resolution to this problem yet, and staff will fix it as soon as they can.
Donation - Return page after donating
When returning from PayPal after donating, you get sent to

Journal - New Posts
There is currently a minor glitch showing up when trying to view new posts, made sometime roughly after 4:30AM, it doesn't apparently affect posting new journal entries or replies though.

Market Bids
Apparently, sometimes gold used for bidding is not being returned after someone beats the bid. Hopefully, the system is just lagging.
Viewtopic Lag
People have been noting that when trying to view topics on gaia, that the pages will lag randomly for a second or two at times. This is possibly due to some changes that administration made where signature areas are now completely limited to a 500x500 pixel zone so large sigs do not stretch the page. Due to the manner in how it was done, its possible that this is the reason that is causing pages to lag, especially those that are full (meaning 15 posts) as it does the resizing to each signature on that page.
Viruses and Spyware - Advertisements
I'm currently personally collecting reports on viral and malware reports on gaia, un-officially. Mainly to present to the admins the problem of viruses through advertisements. Please read ALL the steps on the uploading page BEFORE uploading anything:
