The second character available to draw for this contest is my in-character alter ego, Sosiqui to Aeina.

Sosiqui is Riven's Guardian. Ten months after she came to Gaia, she dreamed of the strange ghostly child and was flabbergasted when he was actually found and delivered into her care by Anya, the caretaker of the Fa'e HQ. The Guardian bond between herself and her adopted son is crucial for his survival.
However, Sosiqui has a past of her own, a very odd one at that. Many of the Guardians seem to be people with unusual life stories, and Sosiqui is no exception. Before she came to Gaia, she was a kairomancer - a time mage - in a place called the Nexus, where all worlds meet. However, a near-fatal mistake flung her into Gaia, never to return to her prior existence. Still, Sosiqui enjoys the new life she's made for herself, and is slowly beginning to regain her powers over time itself.
Story/Personality References:
Sosiqui's story is told throughout Riven's diary. At first, she was merely the mother-figure, but as time progressed more information about her began to surface. The most important plot arcs in Riven's diary that involve Sosiqui are
Broken Paths (found from page 24 of the diary and interwoven through until page 25) and
Missing Pieces (found from page 32, sixth post down, until almost the bottom of page 33). Sosiqui's past history is kind of complex, but if you have any questions I'll be happy to answer them in-thread.

One problem I have with Sosiqui is that I don't have many references for her. Keep in mind that this Sosiqui is essentially an original character, and her resemblance to my avatar is only vague at best. I am <i>not</i> looking for images of my Gaia avatar in this category.
That said, here's what references I do have. As usual, ask questions in-thread if you have them and I'll be happy to answer.
Basic Reference - This is what Sosiqui's costume should look like - a purple tunic with bell sleeves, simple khaki pants with green lacings on the sides, and simple leather boots. There should be a basic leather belt (with no buckles, just laced together) the same color of the boots around her waist, with a small cloth pouch hanging from it. She should have glasses on as well. IGNORE THE STAFF - this is an old edit and I've since removed that object from her character design, so please
don't draw the staff. Sosiqui now carries a wand instead of the staff - information on that is below.
Sosiqui's hairstyle is pretty much like my avatar's, with the addition of a small braid on the right side of her face, tied with a bit of green cord. Her eyes are gray behind the glasses. The image posted in the thread above is an excellent reference for the color of her eyes, the shape of her face and the look of her glasses.
Second Reference - This is the only commission I have of Sosiqui-as-kairomancer. Again, you'd remove the staff and add the glasses and wand. (Also, for this particular reference, the lacing on her sleeves is too much - the place where the cloth comes together between the gaps should be much closer together, as in the avatar edit.) It's a really good reference for the placement of the braid in her hair though.
Sosiqui's Wand - This is what Sosiqui should carry now, not the staff. It's about 16 inches long, the handle made of wood and the rest made of unicorn horn. The horn is SHARP - the wand can be used like a dagger in a pinch. When she's not using it, Sosiqui sheathes the wand at her side like a dagger, inside a small scabbard designed for it.
If you want to draw Sosiqui using time magic (and I really hope you do!), the magic resembles swirly purple-tinted lightning. Sosiqui frequently uses powdered unicorn horn, tossed into the air, to serve as a lattice for her spells - the magic will jump among the bits of dust in the air like how electricity will arc between bits of metal. Again, if you want more information, just ask.

Here are few other characters that you can draw with Sosiqui, besides Riven. Note that these characters CANNOT be drawn alone. Well, they could be, but they wouldn't be eligible for any prizes. ^^;

XD Five is a sort of alternate version of Vivi from FFIX - however, he comes from an alternate timeline of Gaia (as in Gaia Online Gaia, not FFIX Gaia) and has known no other world but the towns of Barton, Durem and Gambino. Now he lives with Sosiqui, who takes care of him as she does Riven. The little black mage is fairly self-sufficient; however, he is young and cute and shy, and appreciates being useful and liked. Five is about four and a half feet tall (including hat). Pictures of Vivi from FFIX can be used as additional reference.

Aeina: This enigmatic older woman was Sosiqui's teacher in the ways of kairomancy. Aeina is a kairomancer of the Nexus. She appears to be about fifty-five years old with Caucasian skin coloring (there are light wrinkles on her face - primarily laugh lines and crows-feet), and wiry, graying blond hair that's held back in a loose bun. Her eyes are very light gray, almost silver in color. Aeina is five feet, one inch tall. She wears a light blue-gray set of robes, similar to traditional mage robes, with a hood and long, draping sleeves. She carries a wand similar to Sosiqui's, with the same kind of unicorn-horn base.
I don't have any reference images of Aeina, so you can have fun coming up with more detail in costume and appearancne for her if you'd like. n_n
<img src="http://gaia.sorayume.net/filedump/ac-shangri.jpg"" align="left" border="0">Shangri: Shangri is Sosiqui's newly-obtained Fandangle Familiar, an odd biomechanical creature made by Moorgahaine. (Biome, Riven's familiar, is also a Fandangle.) This little cog is Time-oriented and is Sosiqui's familiar, bound to her in order to serve as a anchor and grounding point for her power.
<img src="http://gaia.sorayume.net/filedump/ac-chronos.jpg"" align="left" border="0">Chronos (NEW EVOLUTION IMAGE): Chronos is Sosiqui's other familiar - yes, she has two, although she hadn't intended things to work out that way. It just sort of happened! Chronos is a Time Bandit (made by Sajhiri), a strange little creature that was originally an hourglass, but transformed into this odd demon-like creature! He is also a familiar bound to her in order to serve as a anchor and grounding point for her power.
