--03.17.05--Ehh, forgot to update xD; Lots of growths recently with new fourthers coming soon. There's an auction up, but it'll probably end sometime within the next week, so bid if you plan on it. We're currently planning on having some sort of adoption for Lee, though the details are still being worked out. Jivvins are an odd species for a variety of reasons, one of which being their eggs. Yes, though Jivvins give the full appearance of being a mammal, something closely related to a cat or dog more precisely, they are in fact also closely related to reptiles. This is shown plainly by their eggs... Jivvin eggs are nothing special in their appearance, though their colors tend to reflect those of the Jivvin within. The egg stage is the only stage of life in which Jivvins can be sold or given away(Unless you have a very good reason otherwise e.< wink . Interacting with your egg is a good way to shape or determin your Jivvin's personality once it hatches. In many cases, things that the Jivvin experiances as an egg it will later remember, and show a strong preference for or against these things. (Of course, this varies with Jivvin and owner)

<First Stage>
When you see that your egg is hatching, bring it back to the center so we can all celebrate your Jivvin's birthday . Your egg will NOT hatch until it is brought to the center--just a warning. (This is to be sure that we get all the cert information correct.) Soon, you will have a bouncing ball of fur zipping around and tearing your belongings to shreads. Baby jivvins are hyper. Very, very hyper. For the most part, at least. First stage jivvins, unlike their later forms, are nearly impossible to tell apart at first glance. There are *Cough* ways, though.... Baby jivvins have a rather small vocabulary, limited mostly to terms they heard during their egg stage, or anything they pick up off of hearing their owner. As with later stages, babies speak telepathically, though their speech is usually so frantic and jumbled it is hard to understand anything they say. That's babies for you n_n

<Second Stage>
The second stage is where Jivvins' personalities really become known to the world. Jivvins during this phase are generally more calm and collective than in the first, and also sport a much larger vocabulary. Once they reach this stage, Jivvins will also be able to participate in events such as the gnome hunt, where as before the would have been considered far too accident prone and bouncy. Second stage Jivvins also have a tendancy to be more rude and impudent, and don't listen well at all. So be wary of youe stage two Jivvin. Remember, they grow up fast, enjoy it while it lasts ^_^

<Third Stage>

Congratulations! Your Jivvin is an adult ^_^ You've survived the Second stage, and moved on to the well deserved rest that accompanies the Third. Pah, NOT. Adult Jivvins are nearly as unpredictable as the second stage, though their moods tend to remain more stable. By this stage, Jivvins are fully capable of taking care of themselves, and like to prove it by running away for days at a time. However, they will always return to their owner claiming one tale or other, when usually it is just because they missed you. ^_^ Adult Jivvins are also able to breed, and generally have between one and four eggs--never more. Also, third stage is where your Jivvin's 'rank' really becomes apparent. (See Rank section) Jivvins will never die of old age while their owner is alive, and retain their youthful appearance for their entire lifespan.

<Fourth Stage>

Fourth stage is an optional stage that can only be achieved through a certain...quest >.> In this stage, the Jivvins are basically human, though their ears, tail, and horns remain. They also have the ability to go back to their Third stage whenever they please, so don't think this is permanent. Only those who either a)have/keep a journal, b)RP often, or c)auto auctions will have the option of this stage. Promoting activity ^_~ </center>

Jivvin ‘ranks’ began years ago from the Jivvins themselves, as simple titles from one to another. The titles were given based on appearance, personality, or a combination of the two, and were often used as compliments or curses, depending on the rank. At one time there were close to a hundred different descriptive titles, but only the six main ones have survived. They are: Vhaid, Sargtlin, Afya, Olplyn, Daewl, and Uuthli; or, roughly translated: royal, warrior, healer, thief, sage, and winged.

To put it simply: Ranks determine which lineart your Jivvin will have once it reaches it’s adult stage. They also effect things such as personality, though not as drastically. Often a Jivvin of one rank will include characteristics from many different groups, so don’t think you have to stay strictly to whatever’s here. It’s encouraged, but not required n_n </center>

Ranks

<Vhaid>
The Vhaid are really made of two different groups: the true Vhaid, and the more common 'royals'. True Vhaid are the ideal leaders. Proud (without being overly so), stately, reliable, with a natural knack for gaining one's trust and taking charge of a situation. On the other hand, 'Royals' are something of a false Vhaid. Extremely proud, haughty, and rather snobbish, these Vhaid consider themselves well about almost anyone they meet. The term 'royal' is often used as an insult between Jivvins as a result.

<Sargtlin>
Sargtlin often reflect some of the qualities of the true Vhaid, though they have enough significant differences to set them apart. Somewhat proud, these Jivvins have something about them that demands immediate respect...or else. Warriors by nature, these Jivvins will often resort to threats and violence rather than argue through words. They have a tendancy to act before they think, which can be both a blessing and curse. But despite some downfalls, Sargtlin are extremely loyal to anyone they grow close to. Don't make them mad.

<Afya>
Perhaps the kindest of the Jivvins, Afya are those most commonly raised as companions rather than work partners. Afya are naturally friendly and extremely optimistic, always looking on the bright side of things. Patient, trusting, and extremely reliable, these Jivvins will do anything in their power to help whenever it is needed. However, due to their trusting attitude, these Jivvins are very gullible and easily taken advantage of. They are generally quiet, not necessarily shy, but tend to speak more readily as they get to know you.

<Olplyn>
Olplyn are something of loners in the Jivvin world. Sly and secretive, they generally have no interest in anyone other than themselves, their owners, and other Olplyn. Olplyn trust only themselves, and rarely get to know others well because of it. They have arrogance to rival the 'royals', and generally consider things such as friendship beneath them. Olplyn are extremely quick minded, highly intelligent, and often use clever words to worm their way from tight spots. Not to say they have no good points. You just have to find them.

<Daewl>
Daewl are, simply put, cold. Their personalities can fall under any of the others, though they tend to mask them, so no one is sure which. Daewl rarely speak, and when they do it often is in some long forgotten language, or has no visable connection with whatever is being discussed. They tend to shun others, and will usually limit their attention to only a choice few. Despite their affected silence, Daewl are extremely intelligent, moreso even than the Olplyn. Many possess special abilities, each original to the Jivvin. Daewl are the only beings who can enter the Future door.

<Uuthli>
Uuthi are...winged. That's about the only thing that sets them aside from the others. Their personalities can strongly resemble any of the other ranks, but more commonly are a mix of a few of them. Uuthli tend to be more carefree than theothers, more comical. They take things as hey come, quickly forget the past, and rarely bother with the future. They live for the here and now, act before they thing, and do NOT like being ignore. Everybody oogle the wings.</center>

Upcoming Flatsales

None planned

Flatsales here are done a bit differently than elsewhere. While role playing is not required for this shop, it is highly encouraged, and our flatsales only emphasize this. As with normal flatsales, a date and time will be set. On the day, and at that time, either I or Wegs will post for the flatsale to begin.

In this post will be either a question, scenario, or sentence. For the questions, simply include the CORRECT answer in your post. Jivvin eggs will be given to the first <insert number here> to post.

For Scenario, I will post a situation, and you will have twenty to thirty minutes to post a short story (One to four paragraphs or some such) based on it. The stories will be judged by Wegs and I, (and possibly a few others,) and the top <insert number here> receive Jivvins.

The Sentence works much the same way. If it is a Sentence flatsale, I will post a sentence which -could- lead into a story. It’s your job to post the rest of that story, continuing from the point where I left off. As before, you will have twenty to thirty minutes to post, and the stories will be judged by me, Wegs, and possibly a few others. The top <insert number here> receive Jivvins.

A new flatsale we are considering would be our 'Lurker' flatsale. This is basically a newbie flatsale, first come first serve, but only loyal bumpers / lurkers / whateveryawannacallem can participate. A list will be posted in this section of the people we feel this includes. If you're not on it...sorry n_n; There's always next time.

Jivvins are 4k at flatsales unless stated otherwise.

Flatsale Rules

1. Do NOT whine if you don't receive a Jivvin at a flatsale. There is always next time. No sore losers.
2. Flatsale judges may not (and I promise you, will not) participate in the flatsale themselves.
3. Only one(1) Jivvin per owner from flatsales. If you would like a second Jivvin, enter an auction or a raffle.
4. Flatsale prices are non-negotiable. If you are planning on gradually paying off your Jivvin, PM me before the flatsale and we will discuss it.
5. Entries before I say go or after I say stop will be ignored. Sorry, it's only fair.

Upcoming Auctions

Listen up, people, s'a very important announcement:

We're gonna have an auction!

But not just one. Oh now, we're having TWO auctions back to back! \

Why? Because Moo is broke and needs to contribute to the guys GMFC fund <3 Soo, ALL PROFITS from these auctions will be going to Isto and Slush's GMFC quest.

Anywho,

The first of these wonderfulextraordinary auctions will be CUSTOM. That's right, designed by you. This may or may not include: lineart edits, completely original third stage, custom fourth stage. Still being worked out <3

Secondly, Wegs and I have decided (with a bit of outside input >.> wink that becaue the profits are going to the guys, we'll have a couple of Jivvins based off of 'em xD So for our second auction, we'll be having our first TWIN auction. Each stage will have complete original lineart, and each of the Jivvins will be loosely based off the guys <3

Also, if anyone is interested, Wegs will be having an art auction sometime in the near future. Don't have too much info on this just yet, so...more as it develops. Thankies <3

Auctions are auction. Everyone knows how auctions work, correct? Not much can be said on auctions here, because they are all a bit different.

Generally speaking, here's how it works: Auctions are announced two to four days before they actually take place. The bidding starts at 4k, and the autobuy varies between 50k and 150k, depending on coloration and rank and such. The auction will either run for one week, or until 24 hours after the last bid, again depending on the egg. Certain items are accepted, though gold is preferred. Auto's over 100k automatically receive the fourth stage, whether they RP or not.

Upcoming Raffles

None planned

Raffles are about the only thing we do normally here. There are three different kinds of raffles, simply to make explaining them easier. They are: Free, Paid, and Set.

Free-- Free raffles are…free. Tickets cost absolutely nothing, but there is a limit of five per person. The number of slots will generally vary between fifty and one hundred, depending on my mood at the time blaugh . The raffle will be held when all slots are full. The winner is required to pay a price stated at the start of the raffle before they will be given their egg.

Paid-- In Paid raffles, there will generally be between one hundred and two hundred slots, and tickets will cost between one hundred and five hundred gold each, all depending on the Jivvin. Tickets are first come, first served, but there is a limit of ten per person. The raffle will occur once all slots are full.

Set-- Set raffles are called such because they are the only kind here that actually have a set date and time when the drawing will take place. Tickets will always be one hundred gold each, and for these raffles you may buy as many as you wish. But keep in mind, for Set raffles there are an unlimited amount of slots, meaning the number of tickets purchased could go into the thousands!...Kinda exciting, isn't it?

Raffle Rules

1. To enter for:
Free- PM me with the number(s) of the slot(s) you want.
Paid- Send me a trade with the CORRECT amount of gold, and the slot number(s) you want.
Set- Send a trade with the CORRECT amount of gold and how many tickets you want.
2. I will stop accepting Set raffle entries about 20 minutes before the raffle. Once I say entries are closed, do NOT send me anymore trades.
3. If you win a raffle, you have three days to claim the egg or I will redraw. If you fail to claim it before the third day, do NOT come whining to me unless you have a very, very good excuse.
4. If you know you will be gone during/near the drawing, or even have a slight idea that you will be gone, please say so when you send the PM/trade. that way, if you win, I'll know what happened and can extend the date.

The Jivvin center, which is actually just the home of Moo and Wegs, is a large, ancient farmhouse situated on the edge of a magnificent forest, which stretches to the horizon and beyond to the west, north, and east. Immediately behind the house is a small aisle where the trees part, forming a narrow dirt road that winds away into the forest. The path meanders in every which-a-way for some time, finally opening to an immense clearing, somehow untouched by time or even distance. Built on a large hill in the center of the clearing is an ancient mansion--or is it a newly constructed castle? The image seems to flicker and change from one to the other. The dirt path twines its way towards the mansion, wandering calmly around a large lake and leading up towards the front doors. As you take your first steps from the safety of the forest, some sixth sense seems to warn you against straying from the road. As much as you want to keep going, the distance seems terribly long. Is it really worth it? Before you can take ten steps, you are at the end of the path, standing before the three identical doors of the mansion.

At first glance, they seem normal enough; three large, heavy wooden doors, made exactly alike with a carving of an hourglass on each. But as you look closer, the hourglasses seem to change on each. Tiny, carved grains of sand form from the wood, moving to a different position on each door. On the first door, the sand begins to fall from top to bottom, falling endlessly though vanishing before it touches the bottom. In the second, the sand also falls, though and equal amount constantly remains in top and bottom. And on the third, the sand remains settled on the bottom, still and unmoving. Which will you choose?

Most role playing will be done in the guild, though you’re welcome to RP at this thread as well. There are four main areas in which to RP: the Center, the House, the Past, and the Future. Each one of these areas will have their own board explaining them further in the Guild. However, don’t think those are the only places you can RP with these areas. You are welcome to create private RP boards if you would like, and this main thread can also be used as the Center, because….well, that’s what it is, after all.

Also, nothing is restricted to these areas. The forest surrounding the House is free for RP, as is…pretty much wherever else you want to go. Homes, parties, the moon, whatever you’d like ^_^ Just keep it to a PG-13 level so the mods don’t kill me.

How do Jivvins breed? ...You pervert. xP That's for them to know, and you not to. Here at the Center, we simply let nature take its course...with a few guide lines, of course.

Breeding is RP mandatory. NO, you do not RP it. EW. We have a strict PG-13 rule here, as on the rest of Gaia. We simply mean that you cannot just choose two random Jivvins out of the blue and say they have kids. Jivvins mate for life, so they must honestly care for their partner. Choose carefully. No divorces in the Jivvin center.

Jivvins usually have between one and four eggs, and the ranks and color of the eggs tend to reflect those of their parents. (Unless you have a Special, in which case...we'll see) There is a breeding charge of 10k, 5k per parent. It pays for things such as certificates, keeping Wegs fed, etc... Eggs may be kept, or given to friends, sold, auctioned, raffled, etc... but in the case of an auction, 10 % must come back to us. Sorry, deal with it n_n
