Nearly one hundred years ago, a young man was working on carving carousel ponies. He and his sister owned a sculpture shop, and given the rising popularity of carousels in parks and fairs, they decided to try to market their skills in that direction. The young man in question was a sculptor of uncommon ability. It was often said that his creations looked real. Likewise, his sister was able to paint with such a compelling stroke, that it often seemed their art was alive. Yes, it was often remarked upon that there was even an eerie quality about their work - that it looked too alive.

And that was all too true. After many months, the young man and his sister finished 30 carousel horses. They planned to bring one to a local carnival the next day to try to persuade the owner of the grounds to buy their ponies. They left the studio that evening with everything in perfect order. However, when they returned in the morning to their little studio, half of the ponies had mysteriously vanished. They called the police and searched high and low, but the missing ponies were never found.

They always wondered what had happened to the ponies, even into their old age.

What they didn't know was that the ponies were not stolen. The effort and precision that the siblings had put into the ponies had created a spark of real life in them. The ponies awoke a few hours after their creators had departed and simply left of their own accord to find a place to call home.

The ponies searched - growing in number - for many years before they found a home. This place is a remote valley far from any civilization, a place that seems to have been summoned from a dream. Here in these meadows, the ponies spent their days in peace. However, ten years ago, their home was discovered by humans. The ponies had no problems with human beings and were quite comfortable with them around. Some were even so fond of the humans that they formed a bond with them - becoming close friends and even allowing their special friend ride them (floating above the meadows) for short periods.

Today, the ponies still exist in harmony in their valley, and they still take on human friends. A few have even begun to leave the valley so that they can be with their partner all the time. And here's where you come in! Take a look around this magical place and maybe you'll find a pony just for you, too.

→ Consideration: Exercise it. Don't start flame wars, harass the artists or other owners, spam the thread (bumping is okay), break the Gaia ToS, steal art or pets from anyone else, guilt trip others, snipe, etc. Just don't do those things you know you'd be upset about if they were done to you. This is supposed to be fun, not hurtful, so act accordingly.

→ All sales are final. Please don't 'change your mind' or fail to pay, or we'll have to take the standard measures. We don't like doing that, and you don't like it either, so take this in mind before you buy or claim a pony.

→ Please pay promptly. Generally, your cert will be ready for you within 48 hours, so we'd like it if you pay within those 48 hours. After five days, if you have not yet paid, your pet will go back on the market.

→ All ponies - unless custom - are sold as is. That means, if you don't like how your pony turned out, we're sorry, but we can't help you. We try our best to make every one of them as perfect as we can, so if you don't like what you've received, please don't complain.

→ We don't allow for reserving ahead of time, though you may (if you won't be able to attend a timed event) ask a friend to post for you during the actual time of sale. Again, no claims may be made before a sale begins.

→ Also, please don't edit a post once a flatsale has begun. The samples will be posted plenty of time ahead, so there's no need to cheat.

→ For our cert descriptions, for flatsales, contests raffles, and auctions, the trait and charm will be chosen in advance by the artist. Only custom ponies will have a choice of trait and charm. All owners, however, have the choice of what to name the pet. That said, if you desire to change the name of your pet, you will need to pay a 500 gold name change fee.

→ Just as we don't want anyone ripping off the lineart (or certs), we don't want anyone editing it either. Please do NOT edit your pet under any circumstances. If you require an edit, PM one of us, and something may be arranged.

→ You may have as many ponies as you like. However, you may only have one pony per sale, since it's just not fair for one person to buy all of them. We will have sales specifically for newcomers on and off, also, to allow for everyone who wants a chance to have one.

→ If you are blacklisted, there's probably a reason, so please don't complain. First strike lasts a month. After that, if you continue to behave inappropriately, you will most likely be exiled permanently.

→ In order to better serve you, we'll be using two forms of flatsales. One is first come, first served. It will begin after one of the moderators of this thread gives the 'go' sign and end when all the ponies have been claimed. However, in order to allow for those with different time zones, schedules, and connections to have a chance, we will also be implementing prompt-style flatsales. That is, we'll give the 'go,' everyone can post which pony they're going for and then they'll respond to a prompt issued in the 'go' post. After an hour, the prompts will be read and the ponies dispensed accordingly. Please do not be upset if your prompt isn't selected. Just because you don't win doesn't mean we didn't like it, and we're really happy to see people participating.

→ The cost of the ponies is 3K for flatsales. Auctions and raffles will fluctuate, though raffle tickets will cost 100g per ticket. Given that the raffle is a gamble, please only buy as many tickets as you feel comfortable losing, so that in case you don't win, you haven't given away all your savings. As for customs, our custom price is 20K for the basics (having what you want on the cert, gender of choice, and a base colour of choice), 30K for customised colours/patterns (that is, if you want to have some kind of design, like zebra stripes, stars, etc.), and 150K for any lineart edit.

→ Please note, K = 000, not 00. 3K = 3,000g. 20K = 20,000g. 30K = 30,000g. 150K = 150,000g.

→ Just so that it is clear, the 'baby' stage of the pony will indicate a little about its gender and colouring. Just look at the colouring on the horseshoe, and you'll have a general idea of what the pony will look like. The bow above the horseshoe will indicate the gender (greens, oranges, and blues will all definitely be male; purples, yellows, and reds will be female). However, sometimes the pony may have a surprise gender. Ponies with surprise genders will have ribbons with colours (such as brown, grey, white, etc.) not corresponding to those six main ones. However, the sample babies (the images used for sales, except in the case of auctions) will not have the bow, so you'll have to just hope for the best!

→ The first stages of your pony's life will be saved to the colourist's space. You may direct link at this point if you like. Please remember to save each stage if you want them, for they won't be kept after the pony grows. When the pony is fully-grown, please save the cert to your own server, as the cert will be deleted from the staff member's web space in two week's time. Ponies take roughly a month to grow from baby to adult.

→ Ponies are not RP-required, though you may RP them within the thread if you want to. If enough interest crops up, perhaps eventually there may be a specific place for made RP. However, it will never be required. What is required, though, is that each owner make an appearance on the thread -at least- once a month just to let us know you're still around. If an owner doesn't stop by just to say 'hello' monthly, his/her pony will be taken away. It's really simple, honestly. Ya just gotta say 'hello' here and there. wink We won't bite.

→ No selling your pets, please, except in the case of second generation ponies (see Breeding for more details). The cert has your name on it, and so it was meant for you. Also, we don't allow for shared pets. One per owner, if you will, with the exception, again, of Gen. II's (see Breeding). Just to be clear, regular (first generation - those not created by breeding) ponies may not be sold or co-owned.

→ We prefer it if we can read your typing, so we'd be obliged that all 'leik kewl' and 'WhAt iS uP?!1?'s are left at the door. We don't want spam or advertisements either. However, bumping is perfectly fine.

→ In order to breed, you must purchase the spell that will allow the ponies to mate. The breeding charge (or the spell, if you will) is 4K (2K for each owner) for a single foal. Generally, mares throw a single foal. In the rare event that a slot opens up for twins, the cost will be 8K (split between the owners). This doesn't happen very often, though.

→ You may not mate two of your own ponies. To find a mate, just chat on the thread and ask another owner if it's all right. You do not have to mate for life, and so your pony can mate with others. However, mares do require recovery time after each birth, which will be one month at the very least. Mares can only conceive three times.

→ You also may not mate ponies that are not at the adult stage.

→ While your pony can be gay, it can only breed with a opposite gender pony. Sorry, but no MPREG.

→ Second generation ponies are the only ponies that may be co-owned. Likewise, these are the only ponies that may be sold. Because of this, both owners must want to sell before any offspring can go on the market. Both owners must PM the mule and give their consent.

→ You may sell your ponies' offspring, though regular shop prices apply. That is, you may not charge more than 3K per offspring, and 1K of the profit must be paid in return to the shop. If you charge less than 3K, then you must pay 30% of the earnings to the shop. Sorry, but we're making these for you, and you can't get something for nothing. The rest of the earnings must be split between the breeders.

→ You may, however, buy out your partner's share (1500 for a single offspring or 3K for twins - to be paid to your partner) and fully own the pony without paying the shop any royalties. However, if you then decide to sell the pony to an outside owner, you must still pay 1K/30% per pony to the shop.

→ Please advertise your offspring (if you wish to sell) on this thread.

→ The aging process for the first generation ponies applies to the second. The gestation period will be roughly three weeks.

→ As for genetic traits, second generation ponies will share colouring traits as their parents - it will be the colour of one of the parents, and possibly share one or both of the progenitors' markings. In regards to customised or special ponies, there is a 25% likelihood that the special traits (wings, horns, etc., etc.) will be passed on.

Concept and art belong to Mlisubaru. Colouring and custom lineart belongs to the respective artist (Mlisubaru, Chaoskirin, or IcyClare). Do not steal or edit the art. Do not edit the cert (which is copyright Jynk). Drystan will eat you if you do, and he has mighty teeth. They hurt.

Cosplay-style pony concepts are not copyright Mlisubaru or Chaoskirin, and we make no claims to them. This shop is just for fun; no copyright infringement is intended!
