Ikaji ( Ick-Ka-gee ) are anthro children who have been stuck in the spirit world. They need you to raise and care for them as your own. You don't choose them, they choose you.

..... What are they? .....
Ikaji are anthro breedables that are RP-heavy. Each stage is unique hand-drawn art, and each Ikaji is unique in itself. They have to deal with their past lives, along with their current lives, finding the balance in Karma and living life to its fullest.

Failure to comply will place you on the blacklist. We have a general three strikes you're out idea concerning rule breaking, but if the action is severe enough we will blacklist earlier.

General Rules
1. Please read the entire front page. We put a lot of effort into it and any questions you have will be answered on the front page.
2. Use proper English. No 1337, n00b, netspeak, etc. It’s not liked, not appreciated and if you do it you’ll be yelled at.
3. Do not steal or edit any of the artwork! Though the art is beautiful, this will not be tolerated and will result in an immediate blacklist. .
4. Do not be stupid. No arguing, insulting, trolling, acting retarded though you’re not. If you want to argue or fiercely debate take it to PMs. We don’t want to hear it. Anyone who is not up to a certain maturity with regard to behavior (either acting inappropriately or arguing) will be warned. With three warnings you’re banned. No second try.
5. Listen to the staff. In the thread what they say is law, life, et cetera. If you do not abide they will cut your head off…by warning and banning you.
6. We reserve the right to change the rules as we see fit.
7. The staff, believe it or not, have lives outside of Gaia. Things might happen that are out of our control. Please just bear with us.

Rules for Guardians
1. Roleplaying is required. We give you plenty of time, but we will continuously have events and plenty of fun. You can take a few minutes every few months and post.
2. Do NOT complain about the pet you receive. A lot of work goes into each and every stage and we do not expect or care if everyone is happy. If there’s something you don’t like about your pet, give it back and we’ll give it to someone else who will appreciate it.
3. Use your diaries. They’re there so we can keep track of you and your activity. Keep them maintained and active. ^^

1. Any questions should be asked in the thread.
2. Once more, please don’t be stupid.

"All though life we are dealt with Karma. A basic concept of what goes around comes around and follows around the whole, treat others, as you want to be treated. Sometimes all your Karma is not fully balanced, you might have done something really awful to another person and haven't paid the price, or someone may have done something awful to you, and you haven't been rewarded, so to speak, that is, not yet.
That's where the afterlife comes in, if someone has immense karma issues and they expire before the balance is reset, then they get the same karma in the next life, as they are reborn."

Mini and Rama's Story

Dreams. Ever have one of those dreams that seem so real that you believe you’re there? And then you wake up and nothings changed? Well what if I told you that it could be real. Don’t believe me? Listen up, It might just change you’re life.
My dream was strange, and I remember walking through a cave, when a necklace was sitting on the ground in front of me. I bent down to pick it up, and just as my fingers touched the metal beads a wolf snapped its white jaws above me and I woke up.

I was covered in a cold sweat, and I was shaking. I remembered the necklace and its vague familiarity. Then I remembered. I jumped out of bed and began to dig through my wardrobe. There at the bottom, underneath my clothes was a metal beaded necklace I had bought at a garage sale not too long ago. I hesitated, but then picked it up. It felt warm in my hands like someone had been holding it seconds before. I remember the wolf that was guarding it and the strange cave.
I sighed, tossing the necklace on my bed stand. I needed sleep and I could worry about it in the morning.

A few days passed and I didn't have the dream, only the necklace on my bed stand to remind me. Yet, when I came home from shopping one night the necklace was... heating up, burning the wood underneath it. The beads turned white as it continued to head up and my bead stand began to smoke. I grabbed my pillow and smacked it off of the stand, onto my floor. The beads shone, a bright white, and then stopped as in seconds it was back to its normal state.

My heart was racing. I didn't know what the hell had just happened. But, being curious I reached down to the necklace, to pick it up. My fingertips touched the surface, but before I could blink, I was in the very same cave of my dreams once again.

Small floating lights littered my way, and in my hand I was clutching the metal necklace. Was it still a dream? No. No. I couldn't be. I walked along the cave in my bare feet as it spiralled out in front of me, the small floating lights following me as I went… until I heard crying, of a small child, or baby. I ran towards the sound to see a small body wrapped in a white blanket. I picked it up, and instantly the cave disappeared and I was back in my room. Yet the bundle I had in the cave was still in my arms, still crying. I pulled back the blankets to see a small part human, part canine face crying back up at me.

It was definitely a strange experience, yet, I knew it had happened for a reason, and I was starving to find out why, why I had this child, why my dream was real, why it was me, and what the hell was going on.

In the past there were deities of all shapes and sizes who represented all things in both their world as well as in the human world. Terradel created the world. Cosmodel created the cosmos, the area where the deities reside. Botadel was responsible for the plants of the world. Every deity had his or her responsibility. There was one deity, Condel who had a most important role that affected every day life for the humans, animals, deities, and other creatures. Condel was responsible for all of the conflict on Gaia and in the cosmos. His counterpart was Resdel – the deity responsible for resolution. The two combined created a team that controlled the lives of everyone and everything. The balance of power was the most important thing in the ancient times.

Floorplans:

Main Floor(Unless otherwise noted wide hardwood floors run throughout the house.)
Entry (outside): A large entry with round columns has a set of large french doors which open into the grand foyer.
Grand Foyer: The grand foyer is every bit as lavish as the title sounds. With white marble flooring, a light wooden staircase, deep blue antique rugs and a large crystal chandelier. The area is decadently decorated.
Dining Room: Through the archways framed by three columns the formal dining room contains a large table made to seat twelve people.
Living Room: The formal living room contains a fire place and multiple sitting areas as well as a grand piano (by the windows).
Butler’s Pantry: A small area with wine racks, a refrigerator, a sink, servingwear and china.
Pantry: The pantry contains all the unprepared non-perishables.
Pool Bath: The half-bath opens to the poolside covered patio for easy access while outside.
Kitchen: The large kitchen has an island, a breakfast bar, new appliances and granite countertops.
Breakfast Room: A small well-lit breakfast nook with access to the courtyard.
Family Room: A large comfortable area where less formal family interaction can take place.
Game Room: A room with a 60” flat panel LCD television in the corner, every game system imaginable. Plus a bar, billiard table, and dart board for the older kids.
Guest Bedroom: A large area for guests (non-Ikaji or young adult and older Ikaji to stay).
Guest Bathroom: A very nice private bathroom for guests. This is the main bath on the first floor.
Courtyard (outside): A beautiful stone floored area with three small bistro table and chair sets.
Office: The office is Kendra’s. It is where she meets Ikaji guardians, counsels tem, and helps them with difficulties.
Master Bathroom: The large bathroom that is exclusively Kendra’s. (it is her home after all.)
Master Bedroom: The main bedroom that is also only for Kendra. She currently shares it with Hailey while the wolf pup is still an infant.
Ballroom: The largest room in the house the ballroom is a converted three-car garage. Made for lavish parties three crystal chandeliers decorate the ceiling.
Elevator: Installed when Kendra’s father grew ill. A useful thing for any handicap Ikaji, guardians, or anyone in need.
Covered Patio: Next to the large pool the patio has all the necessities plus more.
Pool: A large pool with multiple connected circular levels notating the different depths. The smallest circle is the hot tub which is separated from the main pool. The second smallest circle is the kiddie pool reaching only two feet. The second to largest area goes up to five feet. The largest area of the pool is over twelve feet deep and has a diving area, a slide, and an area for simple swimming.
Lawn: The lawn is immaculately cared for with beautiful hedges, constantly green grass, and wonderful gardens. The entire area is fenced in, though a view of the ocean is available from the rear balcony.
Mini Demon’s fenced-in play area: In a rear corner of the yard there is a half acre dedicated to the mini demons and their play. Though the mini demons are allowed in the house if being watched or housebroken the play area allows them plenty of room to run around and enjoy themselves while playing with other mini demons. (And it gives their owners plenty of time to relax in the mansion.)

Upper Floor
Once up the open stairs the hallway’s balcony overlooks the Grand Foyer.
Playroom: Fully of toys, games, and a small nap area the playroom is the main area where Ikaji children spend their time.
Nursery: The nursery has a number of changing tables, playpens, and a small play area full of infant-safe toys.
Study: The study is a place where the more studious teenage Ikaji can come amd get information on anything.
Theater Room: A room where the teenage and young adults love to spend time. The theater has a projector which projects onto the windowless wall. Each window has blackout shades (including the glass door to the balcony) so that movies can be watched during the day as well as at night.
Bedroom 3: This room has a few twin size beds for any abandoned Ikaji to sleep in or any Ikaji that need babysitting.
Bedroom 4: This bedroom is Hailey’s room. While she sleeps in Kendra’s room for now, Hailey will move to this room permanently when she becomes a child. At the moment this room contains a twin bed, a playpen, a nap area, and an area for all of Hailey’s toys.
Bathroom 3: This bathroom is mainly used as Hailey’s bathroom. She shares it when there are abandoned or needy Ikaji staying in Bedroom 3.
Bathroom 4: This bathroom is used by the older Ikaji who have been swimming or playing around and need a shower. It is also used by the people in the theater and as a training bathroom for the young children.
Balcony (front): Over the entryway the front balcony looks out at the front garden and driveway.
Balcony (back): On top of the covered porch the rear balcony looks out over the pool, garden, and mini demon play area.

This is Kendra’s personal space that none, not even Hailey can enter. Therefore there is no description of it for now.

Personality: Kendra Kendra seems to be a kind and helpful person. She is fairly reserved, not giving out too much information about herself, but she shares everything she can with the Ikaji to help them develop. She is organized, neat and very intelligent.

Likes: helping, educating, learning, planning large lavish parties

Dislikes: interruptions, dirt, mess, drama, complaints

History: With an obvious large income (it is believed that she inherited a lot of money from her late father) not much is known about Kendra before she became associated with Ikaji HQ.

For RP purposes, How big are they?
Ikaji are about the same size as humans, although their height and build depends on their species and age. You wouldn't see a 6-foot door mouse, for example.

Do they speak any unique language?
Only if you teach them! They speak whatever language they were raised with, unless their past lives or karma have affected them linguistically.

So how does this whole past life thing work?
Your Ikaji will come fully equipped with a backstory when you first receive him/her. They usually don't start realizing it until they are children. It is then when they are most sensitive to their other lives. Their obect symbolizes some aspect of their past life, and they may be visited with dreams or visions of their past lives. How they interpret those will shape their development. For example, as a child, Rama had a dream of her past life. She was a rogue that ran around with a gang, pick pocketing and performing small robberies. In that dream, the rogue's right eye was pierced with a dagger. Rama awoke that night to find she had gone blind in her right eye...

Well, all I can say is start a quest or find some way to save up without bugging others. All the art is hand drawn, and a lot of time goes into these.

Pet trades?
Yes! We will post in the thread when pet trades are open. But it must be a pet that is equal in quality to the Ikaji. Please do not be offended if we do not want to trade.

Bribery?

How many can I own?
As many as you can be responsible for RP wise.

Can we co-own?
Not at this moment.

What happens if I don't RP?
You will get several reminders. If you don't respond appropriately, we will blacklist you and contact a mod in order to remove your ownership due to inactivity.

What if I go on vacation or something?
No problem! Simply let us know you're going on a hiatus and why. If it's a good reason, we'll be happy to pause your pet for you.

I'm really busy, but can I somehow have an Ikaji without the RP requirements?
Yes, but it will cost an extra 500k. This is subject to change.

So, from what I've read, the Ikaji's pose and expression can vary depending on the RP. Does that mean their physical appearance can be altered too? Things like hair style, clothing and such?
Though this used to be the case the new Breedables rules makes it easier for the artists to do all the stages at once (except for full customs). Just in case any circumstances arise in which an owner is blacklisted or the shop has to close we can simply give you all of the stages at once and not have to worry about being reported and banned. It's a safety precaution for us and I hope it doesn't come to it, but we need to have protection for ourselves, just in case. ^^

Does the item have to reflect past life or the karma?
It can be either one, or, if you wish, both.

If in the past life they were female, can they be male now, or vice-versa?
Yes!

Item:
The item is what connects you to your child in the spirit world. It is usually somehow connected to their past life.

Infant:
So you've connected and found your new child then, eh? The infants are all half human, half animal, or as some people like to call it, "anthro." They babble, drool, and need their diapers changed just like any other baby, yet sometimes their animal half gets the better of them. Good luck with this one!

Child:
So now you've gotten past the diapers and chewing and crying? It should be all downhill from here right? Wrong. Now that your child is learning to speak it starts to get flashbacks from its previous life. Was it an animal before? Did it have a human life? What happened? Thats for you two to find out.

Teen:
OH NOES! A teen! Well, your willpower will be tested on this one. Hormones raging, flashbacks still happening (not as much as the previous stage) and on top of that, they start to sway in one direction or another. Will they try to right their wrongs? Live a balanced life? Or create hell for you and everyone else in its path? And whats this? Some may have spiritual powers on top of that? Oh jeeze.

Young adult:
Things are finally winding down for you as your Ikaji gains some maturity... right? Haha, you're still in for a ride as your Ikaji is more self conscious about its past and begins to realize the importance of karma, and how it affects us all. Or maybe it just doesn't give a damn, and hasn't grown up at all.

Adult:
Your little darling child has finally grown up, have you taught it well? This is close to the final judgment as it gears up to either move on to the spirit world or stay like this. Also your Ikaji might want to reproduce. Does it want a family of its own? So many things to deal with!

All Ikaji will be hand drawn and unique from start to finish. Therefore the prices might be a bit steep, depending on the Ikaji.

There are, at the moment, two ways to get Ikaji. Flatsales and auctions.

We have one general sale rule that applies for all pets gained in any way. All sales are final. By purchasing your pet you agree to role play your pet to our set rules (at least one 1-page RP every two months with one warning) or risk our going through mods to remove your pet ownership with no refund.

Your entry must be 1000 words or less, but either way we value quality over quantity. Keep us entertained

Auction Rule
You may not retract bids. You will be warned and will not be allowed to participate in the next sale.
Only bid what you have.
The only items accepted are dontation items, chickies, bunnies, corsages and nitemare/angelic headbands.
Calculate your own bid. Use a calculator if you must. If we catch you overpricing your items we will give you a warning.
We have an anti-snipe rule. Bidding will continue for 1 hour after the last bid.
Do not discourage anyone from bidding in any way.

Role play is required for all characters. If you do not keep up with that rp, you may lose your pet without compensation.
1. You must RP at least once every two months. This is not too much to ask. One page in Word (or similar program) for every two months. We understand people get busy and will warn you if you don't RP enough and remember: three strikes you're out. There are specific requirements that must be met before your pet can grow. Therefore we have a minimum growth requirement as well as a time necessity.
2. If you are going on hiatus let us know! If you don’t let us know and we don’t see you for a few months, your character will be taken away from you. We will check to see if you are posting in other places. We will PM you. But if you do not respond and/or if you do not comply with our requests, your pet will be taken and, if you are on hiatus without notice, it is your own fault that you lose your pet.
3. You must stay in character. Small personality shifts are natural, but a person won’t go from being saintly to being the devil’s right hand man.
4. No god modding. If your character is hit, it will hurt. If it’s best friends hates it, it will be sad. S/he is not invincible.
We have the right to take away your character if you are not treating it right. We will speak to you before hand, but a lot of the plot development is dependant on you. If you are not doing something right and refuse to fix it there will be problems.

Mini demons bond with people as stray cats would. They cling to those who care for them. Mini Demon owners can rp in day-to-day role play and most special events. The owners of mini demons are people who, ooc, have either contributed to the shop in some special way or were runners up in role play contests (whether free or flatsale).

Breeding! Yes, your Ikaji can breed! Breeding is only for young adults and up. It can be between any two Ikaji, as long as there is a relationship. Ikaji do not just breed and reproduce to.. well, breed and reproduce! Once a couple has made the decision to have offspring they come to us.
There is a small fee to pay by the guardians, only 10k from each! This pays for the clinic the two Ikaji will go to to learn about childbirth. Or if they are a same sex couple, to get a donor to combine their DNA with.
Now for example, if two different species of Ikaji were to breed, the child can either take after the mother, the father, or in really rare cases, be a complete mix of the two, making a whole new species!
Your Ikaji may have up to three children! The guardians may take guardianship over the children or give them away to other suitable guardians for no charge, as long as they RP as expected. There is also the option of having an auction or flatsale for them with the proceeds being split between the shop and the guardians.
