- Thread Rules
- + Posting: Now that we have RP going on in the thread please try to keep non-RP (OOC) comments ((in brackets)) and RP in italics. If you forget you won't be burnt alive but this just makes like a little easier. Just somehow make it obvious when you are RPing and when you are chatting OOC but avoid *these*.
+ RP: You don't need to have a pet to RP as Gaian characters are a welcome part of Mayune. Please always ask before joining in on RP already in progress. If you're going to RP, please keep it as literate as possible. This means don't use net speak; type out full sentences; don't use emotions etc. You don't have to be a great writer or a perfect speller, you just have to make an effort and try to write more than one line.

"...And from the dust, shall they be reborn."
Ahead of you lies a rift portal that will transport you from your normal world here in Gaia, to a small glittery world beyond the span of your dreams and thoughts.
This world is called Mayune. Recently discovered by rift portal researchers, a silvery gateway that any Gaian can pass through if given a heady drink made from the crushed bodies of certain rare beetles and the fermented juice of a specially engineered fruit and hypnotized into a half-waking trance. Only in this state is it possible to cross the outerworldly barrier and pass through the rift portal.
Mayune is a beautiful world of wide glass land plains, deep terrible jungles, terrifying mountain ranges that tear through the clouds and magnificent floating islands, realms in the sky.
For all it's magnificent scenery, there lurks an emptiness. A creeping sensation like standing in the house of a man long dead, like standing alone in a darkened building knowing not another soul is near.
Scattered like wayward pebbles through the forets and across the plains the remains of once proud buildings can still be seen. How long they have been abandoned is uncertain, who created them there is now little way to tell. What is certain, as the vines crush through gaping cracks and sunlight streams through caved in roofs, is that these buildings have not been occupied for many hundreds of years.
And yet, to stand in the empty grasses, the bright sun pouring down, a lively breeze whipping the nape of your neck, though the trees sprout around and from these fallen, forgotten remains, you cannot shake the sense that you are not entirely alone. There is a strange whirring in the air, not a sound that you can hear, but a quiet vibration that you feel through your whole body without being sure how you felt it or even what it is.
A sensation like effervescent water courses up and down your spine. Glitter seems to glow behind your eyes. A strange force unlike anything you have ever experienced is at work. Your instinct tells you to leave, to return to Earth as quickly as you can, but your curiosity is stronger. You walk in the direction that the buzz of life emanates from, unsure of what you will find, but you cannot go back yet.

Wilden Hearts are Anthromorphic B/C pets that look much like animals crossed with humans. Wilden Hearts are made up of three races:
The Races
The Anthropics:
Standard anthromorphs, they look much like animals that walk upright with a human-lke figure and posture.
The Tauri [undiscovered]:
Like the "Centaur" of mythology these creatures possess the lower body of a larger animal and the upper body of a human. The Tauri also possess animal like ears and while their human torso is unfurred, it is very rarely the color of human skin. These creatures are particularly artistic and tend to have a strong affinity for music, art and literature.
The Wildetaurs [undiscovered]:
Physically they are much like a cross between the Anthropics and the Tauri. Having the overall shape of the Tauri with the lower body of an animal, the upper body is that of an Anthropic of the same species instead of a human. They are by far the most outgoing, aggressive and dangerous of the races.
Within these three subspecies are many races, if you can name the animal it is probably a Wilden Heart race, even if the animal is not real. The races are broken down into those that are Common, those that are Rare and those that are Mythological.
Alignments
See also p2
See also p2
Perhaps surprisingly, it is not on racial grounds that the new society on Mayune is divided. All racial and special groups get along harmoniously as a whole. Instead, society is fractured along Spiritual lines. Wilden Hearts refer to their Spirituality as their "Alignment."
Una
The Una hold a spiritual connection to The Day, to dawn, to the blue sky and to the sun. They embrace all that is pure and good. Faith, Loyalty and Honor are extremely important to them. They disapprove of disorder and sinfulness. They often have difficulty accepting the animal nature within themselves. While they are battle ready, they consider their combat a holy duty and not a bloodlust. The Una reside in the Northern Islands, lands of rolling hills, green meadows, gullies and brooks. Enemies of the Mys.
Mys
The Mys hold a spiritual connection to The Night, to dusk, to the midnight sky and to the moon, especially the Full Moon. Eclipses are also of extreme spiritual significance to them. They embrace their darker sides, revel in all that is sinful and enjoy the decadence of life. They tend to give in too readily to their animal natures and have difficulty accepting the more human side to their natures. They love battle and the thrill of victory. The Mys reside in the Southern Islands, lands of thick jungle, sweeping shadowlands, darkness and wilderness. Enemies of th Una.
Yuri
The smallest Alignment, the Yuri embrace nature and hold a spiritual connection to Mayune Herself. They praise the green of the trees and the blue of the sky, the blossom of spring, the fruit of summer and the harvest of the fall. The Yuri accept themselves and others for who they are and prize inner peace and knowing thyself. The Eastern Island is their home. A small island where the Yuri live in a harmonious relationship with nature. In times of need they may side with either the Mys or the Una, whichever group best suits their needs at the time.
The stages
1. A shiny new egg! (only phase were art is recycled)
The egg is almost perfectly round and quite large. Roughly the size of both your fists, it is surprisingly light-weight. Bright, shiny or glittery, you can see through the outer layer to colors that glow, ripple, swirl or sparkle within. You can feel the aura of the egg but you cannot read it to the point of knowing what kind of creature lies inside, only the Egg Reader can do that. Keep your egg warm and safe, let it hear the sound of your voice. Gently rocking your egg or playing music to it may also be beneficial.
2. Baby! (0-2 years)
Your egg has hatched into a brand new baby. In most burrow/den dwelling species the baby's eyes will still be closed, but many plain dwelling animals will already be taking their first shaky steps! Provide your newborn lots of rest in a comfortable, warm place, plenty of nutritious food and all the love and attention you can give. Your baby is very bright and will probably learn to talk within a few days.
3. Little One. (3-6 years)
Your pet has grown! He/She can comfortably walk around and engage in simple speech with you and others. Teach your wide-eyed adventurer all about the world. Although too young to engage in combat, a few lessons in basic safety with weapons will enable your pet to reach the level cap of level 1.
4. Child. (7-12 years)
Your pet is beginning to see there is more to the world than just their own lust for food and toys, its personality is starting to truly come out now, mischief, crushes and a bit of silliness will be rife. It may find itself with new powers...it is the time for fostering childhood friendships. Your pet is now old enough to engage in simple combat and can reach the level cap of level 5.
5. Teen. (13-17 years)
Your pet is blossoming, this is an age for experimentation, crushes, adventure and finding yourself. Your pet can now reach a level cap of level 15.
6. Youth. (18-24 years)
Your pet is growing into its adult personality, developing emotional maturity and a more realistic outlook on life it is time to consider where this life will take you. New powers..? Your pet can now reach a level cap of level 30
7. Adult. (25+)
Your pet is fully matured and may chose a trade, marry or go on great adventures. You may find yourself with new powers... Your pet can now reach a level cap of level 50. You must RP your character if you wish its growth to continue.
8. Enlightened. (RP required: Character developed to sufficient standard, reached level 50, completed quest)
Your pet has developed greatly in his chosen trade. You are now a formidable force. Level cap of 70.
9. Revered. (RP required: Character developed to sufficient standard, reached level 70, completed quest)
Your prowess is fearsome, you are known throughout your lands. Level cap of 100.
10. Immortal. (RP required: Character developed to sufficient standard, reached level 100, completed quest)
Your marked position is society has been noticed by higher powers. You have completed a quest of unimaginable magic and you are now an immortal. There is no limit to your level.
The Paths
Once Your pet reaches Adulthood, it is time for him or her to choose the path that they will follow as they continue to develop. Once selected, a path cannot be changed. The path you select will determine what your character dresses in, which weapons and armor items are able to be used by your character. It will not affect the numbers rolled in combat but if you chose to add RP comments to your combat rolls, your Path will determine the kinds of attacks your RP. Certain Paths may be more respected by different alignments, however, your alignment does not rule you out from taking any of the paths.

Beast Mastery
There are no pet shops in Mayune, but many Wilden Heart adventurers chose to keep animals they have tamed as familiars. To tame a wild animal you must first encounter one (a dice roll is used) then if your beast mastery is high enough, you will be able to capture it, tame and keep it. If you do not wish to tame and capture the creature you MUST fight it, if you are not already exhausted from battle. If you are exhausted from battle the animal will flee.
]
Leveling
See also p3
See also p3
As your pet ages, you will be able to raise its level. Raising your pet's level will cause it to gain Hit Points (HP) which will make it harder for others to defeat your pet. If you battle another Wilden Heart or a wild animal and win, you will gain one level. If you lose you will suffer no adverse effects. If you lose a battle, you will not become exhausted and can fight another monster or player. However, if you win any battle you will become exhausted and will not be able to fight again until the next day.
You do not have to battle a stronger Wilden Heart if they challenge you but if you encounter a strong animal you have no choice but to fight it. Battles will only gain you levels AND will only cause you to become battle exhausted if they take place in this thread. This means you can battle your friend somewhere else just for fun as much as you want because you won't become exhausted, however, you also will not gain any levels or treasure.
Talent
See also p2
Another facet of your pet's development is its talent. You can begin to develop your pet's talents as soon as your pet is hatched. The three areas of talent are: Artistic; Social; Dexterity. Certain levels of talent will be required for your pet to successfully apply for a job!
Trades and Professions
You may select a trade or profession for your pet. These careers are purely RP but your pet will receive small weekly payments of gems if they meet their work requirements for that week. Most jobs will have talent, level, stage or other requirements to be filled before your pet can be hired. You can change your profession at any time.
Stablehand
You work in the stables, tending to the steeds of wealthier Wilden Hearts. Your duties include making sure the stalls are swept, the bedding is fresh, the water clean and the food plentiful. Make sure the animals are provided with warm blankets on cold nights. Working in this job will earn you extra beast mastery points. You must be a child or older to take this job but no other skills are required.
Maid
You work in the homes of the moderately well to do, making beds, sweeping floors, doing the laundry, polishing silverware and helping in the kitchen and the garden. You must be at least a child to take this job but no other skills are required. Working in this job will earn you extra society talent.
Farmer
You don't own your own land, instead you rent it from a noble. You grow crops of your choosing or you may grow livestock for their fleece or meat. You tend to your crops and animals and sell your produce in town. You must be a Teenager or older. Working with livestock will earn you extra beast mastery points, working with crops with earn you extra dexterity.
Bartender
You work in a Tavern or Inn in town and serve patrons a selection of foods and beverages. You are charged with serving, cleaning, keeping order and being pleasant to your patrons. Not the most glamorous of jobs, it doesn't pay much and you will be required to work most evenings. You must be at least a teenager to take this job. You earn extra points in Social Talent while working in this profession.
Blacksmith
Forging armor and swords by the heat of the forge. You will actually spend most of your time making horseshoes for Wilden Hearts wealthy enough to own steeds.
Dancer
You work in a tavern or an inn and dance to entertain the patrons. You get to dress in lavish costumes that are not your own and you earn extra points in all talents. You must be at least a teenager with 10 points in every talent to get this job.
Tailor
Trapper
You hunt and trap small animals to be sold for their meat and hide. It doesn't pay much but at least you can call your own hours and work outdoors in good weather, putting your feet up at a tavern when the rain sets in. If you're an adventurous type who enjoys the thrill of the wilderness this job might be for you. You must be at least a teenager, possess at least three familiars and have reached level x. You gain extra points in beast mastery from this trade.
Bard/Poet
You don't make much of a living but you are respected for your abilities. People love to listen to you recite your works in the town square or in the tavern. You must be a teenager or older with 30 points in Artistic and 10 is Social talent.
Artist
Whether you paint watercolor landscapes, oil portraits or write epic narrative, you call yourself an Artist and the rest of the town appreciates your talent. You are respected and admired by many, especially females. Only the roughest of Wilden Hearts look down on you. You don't make a lot of money but then you don't work many hours. This job would suit you if you are a introspective, imaginative character who prefers a more laid back lifestyle. You must be at least a Youth and have 50 points in Artistic Talent.
Bounty Hunter
You fear no-one. You earn your bread by seeking out the monsters and criminals that others will pay for the death of. It is a dangerous lifestyle but you wouldn't take this job unless danger was something you craved. You must be at least a Youth with 60 points in Dexterity Talent to take this job.
Inn Keeper
You own a tavern and hire bartenders and dancers to entertain your patrons. You spend your days serving at the bar and tending to the needs and desires of your patrons.
Merchant
You own a large trading ship and make your money buy purchasing goods at one port and selling them at another. To become a merchant you must purchase a trading vessel, be a Teenager or older, have reached level
Noble
You own a large tract of land on which your own stately manor resides. The unused portion of you land is rented out to peasants and farmers who pay you rent. To become a noble you must purchase a tract of land, be a Youth or older, be level

- No one knows to where the once overlords of Mayune fled. Now they are gone, and they have been gone a long time. Their one time pets, the Wilden Hearts have grown stronger, wiser, larger and more powerful since they were abandoned. But the civilization lies in ruins, and the fractured society the Wilden Hearts have forged for themselves is precarious and often dangerous.
Society is fractured down the rift of spiritual belief. Those who worship the sun call themselves the Una, those who worship the night call themselves the Mys. One other group remains, a small group who worship only nature itself, the Yuri usually side with the Mys or the Una, whichever best suits their needs at that moment but for the most part they remain neutral to the other groups.

"...blessed be the one who yearns, who dreams, who dares to question, for it is he who will find"
Are you hiring?
Perhaps. In the interest of getting Wilden Hearts to more people (I can only draw so quickly) I may be looking to hire one or two artists. Your style doesn't have to be anything like my own as long as your ability is roughly similar. PM me if you would like to discuss.
What is a pet?
Pets are a kind of "let's pretend" they are images that we pretend are real creatures! I draw what your pet looks like, then attach a certificate with your name, your pet's name and other pertinent info. The first image will be an egg, then after a few days, you will get a new image of your pet as a hatchling, then as more time passes you will get another and another. In this way you get to watch your pet grow!
So what ARE these Wilden Hearts?
Wilden Hearts are anthromorphic creatures, meaning they look like a cross between a person and an animal. They come in all kinds of species imaginable! They were once the pets of a highly evolved species that lived on Mayune, but after that species disapeared from Mayune, the Wilden Hearts were forced to learn to fend for themselves. They are strong, intelligent and capable of speech. It is up to them to forge their own new society now that their masters are gone.
How many of these stages are there?
There are 10 stages. However, when you purchase your pet you are only purchasing a pet with 7 stages. The last three stages are not granted to every pet. Stages 1-7 show your pet's physical growth as it reaches physical maturity. The next three stages are for your pet's mental growth and to achieve these stages you will need to put in a lot of RP effort, take part in events, go on quests and develop to your true potential.
Every Stage is uniquely drawn?
Yes apart from the eggs which are made from templates, each stage of your Wilden Heart is completely new art drawn by moi. This is great for you because each new stage is a complete surprise, totally unique from every other pet AND inspiration for your pets stage art will be drawn from your own RP! Please note that unless your pet is a custom order you get absolutely NO input on what your pet will look like in its stages and that simply stating in an RP post that your pet has decided to paint her nails pink or wear pigtails does not guarantee that such details will be present in the next stage of your pet. However, such details are more likely to be present if you have RPed them and even moreso if you have RPed some special reason according to your pet's character/history etc why your pet wears its hair a certain way etc etc.
What do you do with these pets?
Primarily pets exist to be collected and/or to be played with. The way you play with these pets is by roleplay (RP) similar to the "let's pretend" games you played when you were younger, you pretend that your pet is a real creature and you make forum posts where you act out scenes where you talk to your pet, interact with other pets and do just about whatever you feel like in the world of Mayune. Your pet can also engage in combat with other people's pets and with monsters in the world. You do this by rolling certain dice and when you win fights you gain levels and Gems to spend in the Mageic Item Shoppe. You can purchase Mageic Items, Weapons and Armour from the Shoppe which can have different effects on your pet!
Is RP required?
No, RP is not required. The pets are designed for heavy RP and as such RP is highly encouraged and highly rewarded but your pet will not be taken away if you do not RP. RP is necessary to develop your pet to the 8th, 9th and finally the 10th stage but if you stop RPing your pet at any stage it will not be taken away, it will only cease to grow through the final three stages.
How do I make my pet grow?
The most important thing your pet needs to grow is time. But your pet also needs your ongoing attention. If you do not RP your pet you will still need to check into the thread just to let me know you're alive and still interested in your pet! If you don't give your pet attention in this way your pet's progress will be halted. It will not be taken away and it will resume growth as soon as you swing by to check on him/her.
How do I speed up growth?
The growth of your pet with minimal care will take quite a while, the good news is there are a number of ways to speed this up. RPing your pet, leveling your pet through combat and using items from the Mageic Item Shoppe can all aid your pet in his/her growth.
Where does the RP take place?
Currently all RP should take place in this thread OR in journals you can set up in the Breedables RP Forum. If you RP with your pets somewhere else for fun, that's fine, but you won't be given credit for it. All battling MUST take place in the main thread IF you wish to gain levels/Gems. Any battles that take place outside of the main thread will be classified as "sparring" and while perfectly legitimate, there is no reward of levels or Gems it is only for fun. Each Wilden Heart may only Battle once per day in the thread for levels and Gems.
What exactly do you RP?
You RP the pet(s) you have bought, growing up and interacting with the world. You may RP your pet as an orphan or you may RP your Gaian self as your pet's guardian.
So what are the stages?
1. A shiny new egg! (only phase were art is recycled)
2. A cuddly newborn!
3. Little One.
4. Child.
5. Teen.
6. Youth.
7. Adult. (RP required beyond this point)
8. Enlightened.
9. Revered.
10. Immortal.
What if I haven't RPed my pet but now that its an adult I want it to progress to stage 8 and up!
If you have not RP'd your pet to adulthood but still wish to unlock these stages you can either start RPing now with your adult pet (you will have to RP a LOT and develop a detailed character for your pet you will be expected to do at least as much RP as you should have done if you had RP'd your pet through all its stages) OR you can have a special order placed to import a potion which will advance your pet. Such potions are extremely costly and hard to come by but if you express your interest in buying one I will see what can be done.
So what are the benefits of RP?
Thee short answer is, there are heaps! But if you want the long answer... Well firstly, as has already been stated, the last 3 stages of growth will only be available to RPers. Also, your pet will grow significantly faster if you RP. The more you develop your pet's personality and character as you RP him/her, the more inspiration you provide me with when I draw your next stage. You cannot request ANYTHING regarding your pets artwork unless you have a custom or somehow manage to bribe me into it. However, I will draw inspiration for your pets art from your RP so the more you RP, the more of those little details are likely to find their way into your pet's art. It is also a lot less expensive to breed your pet if you RP a relationship between the couple (because if you don't, you'll need to bribe me to breed them).
What are the naming regulations?
Naming regulations are very lax, you will most likely be allowed to name your pet whatever you like, if for some reason I feel the name you have requested is unfit or inappropriate for any reason, I will let you know, explaining my decision and allow you to chose a different name.
What is an Alignment?
Your pet will also have an "alignment" this is a part of your pet's spiritual personality and may reflect certain elements of your pet's approach to life, the powers and abilities the pet develops, the places your pet frequents and the way your pet relates to other certain pets. The possible alignments are Mys - "evil", dwell in the jungles and shadowlands, have an affinity for darkness and a special spiritual bond with the moon, have a particular dislike for the Una; Yuri - "neutral" live on a small island, have a spiritual tie to Nature as a whole, may side with the Mys or the Una depending on which best suits their agenda at the time; Una "good" live on the hills and plains, embrace the pure and noble elements of life, have a special spiritual attachment to the sun and have a particular dislike of the Mys.
What about mageic abilities and powers?
Your pet may develop mageic abilities or powers as it grows up. These abilities are purely RP and may affect the way your pet engages in combat but do not provide you with more damage.
Do you do pet trades?
Not right now.

Flatsales
Note: The next flatsale will not be for quite a while due to the sudden influx of new pets with the grand opening.
Flatsales come up from time to time and will be speed sales. I will usually try to post that a flatsale is coming up 1-3 days in advance and set the time so you can be ready. Along with the image of the egg you will be told the faction, gender and species of the pet. One owner ONLY per pet.
Auctions
Rare or Mythical species will usually be auctioned because their species types come up less often. Along with the image of the egg you will be told the faction, gender and species of the pet. Can be co-owned by up to 3 people.
Customs Currently open only via PayPal. PM me with your e-mail address if you would like to discuss.
With a custom you get a lot of free reign over your pet and how it turns out. You can choose the gender and species of your pet, the faction it belongs to and other details of your pet's physical appearance, coat color, piercings, clothing etc. You can elect for you custom to start life from any stage 1-7. When it's time for your pet to evolve to the next stage you will be asked for any customizations you would like, this occurs every time your pet enters a new stage! Total customization. Of course, you don't need to give any details and I can just surprise you like everyone with a flatsale or auction pet. Must be owned by only ONE person. Price depends on rarity of species chosen.
Bribe
This just means, if all the slots are closed and you really want a pet, you can attempt to bribe me. As the saying goes, if the person can't be bribed, it only means you haven't offered them enough. Probably only owned by one person, I may allow a two person co-owning if you're extremely lucky. You'd also probably have to promise to RP, even though of course if you don't I will not take the pet away from you.

Breeding Methods
Natural breeding This is quite difficult and requires two Wilden Hearts to form a close attachment. If the attachment is not deemed close enough they will not be able to breed. Pets must be at least at the youth stage, one male and one female. Related pets cannot naturally breed and neither can two pets owned by one person. In addition the two pets must make a sacrifice to their spiritual guide, the sun, the night or nature itself. The sacrificial item can be bought from the Item Shoppe when available. One child will be born which may be co-owned by the parents if they decide to split the bill or owned by one parent if they foot the bill themselves. What traits (if any) of the parents are passed onto the offspring are a complete surprise.
Splicing This is an extremely delicate procedure that involves the artificial incubation of genetic materials from two pets. For this reason ANY two pets can breed this way. Same sex couples are fine as are all stages of pets past the egg stage. Related pairs are allowed to breed this way also, the genetic materials will be specifically selected to ensure no harm from inbreeding occurs and of course as this is a laboratory procedure, there is no incest. Splicing also makes it possible for specific genes to be targeted and given to the offspring. While not a guarantee usually at least half of the traits targeted this way will be visible in the new Wilden Heart. This is the only way that a Wilden Heart can reproduce with a character that is NOT a Wilden Heart.
