Which is ironic, since 99% of the threads here aren't about bugs either, but about new features and functions on the website.
I don't think it's ironic since this Spring Cleaning effort is about Gaia features needing improvement, that includes fixing bugs. Hiring staff is a totally different matter.
He completely missed what you were saying here huh Quint XD Maybe re-read it Catalyste talk2hand
Hmm, maybe you should re-read what I've said. And excuse me for not jumping on the bandwagon, but I feel this proposal is misplaced. We know zOMG is short on staff, however what about zOMG itself? What of the feature itself that needs improving that we would like to see?
Firstly, I said nothing about your opinion not being welcome or your feelings on the matter being wrong. I believe everyone is entitled to feel however they want. You're more than welcome to not jump on the bandwagon.
Secondly, I will go ahead and EXPLAIN Quint's meaning: When Quint stated it was ironic you mention this because 99% of the other threads here aren't about bugs Quint was simply stating that this is not the only thread of it's kind that does not fall under your "features that need improvement" rule.
Thirdly, this proposal lists glitches and bugs in zOMG that need improving.
Fourthly, if nothing else this thread will just get Gaia's attention. Also, Gaia chooses what threads it will accept. No one is FORCING Gaia to accept this proposal. If Gaia deems it not do-able they would simply say so, marking it as rejected (or whatever it was they said they would put it as). You don't have to cookie it. If you don't agree with it then don't cookie it. No need to start posting counterproductive things. You are free to just leave the thread and ignore it. Not really even sure why you are posting here?
Or in other, more well spoken words:
Captain Croissanto
Cookie'd. Also, while I can see both sides to the argument about whether or not this is an appropriate thread... it is worth pointing out that, even if it doesn't work to get another developer on the crew, as stated by Melpy this might get Gaia's attention on the matter.
*sigh*
I never said I didn't feel needed or wanted, only that I'm not jumping on the bandwagon. Which also means that I'm more than welcome to post counter-points to suggestions like this. If you don't like what I say, but read it anyway, tough. None of what I say is counterproductive. Counter-points are as productive as the opposing point. It gives a full view of how to go about resolving the issue.
Second, I understood what Quint was getting at perfectly without your explanation. Thing is she missed the part where I also mentioned that this Spring Cleanup was about improving site features. So clearly it's not only about fixing bugs. Also I don't see many proposals asking Gaia to hire more staff, they're asking for out-of-the-box things to add to already existing features that just shouldn't be there or even fit.
Third, there's a subforum for Gaia to fix zOMG bugs & glitches. If this was truly about that, then the OP should change the title of the thread to match that this is what needs to be done instead of insisting that Gaia make money appear out of mid-air and summon more employees.
As I said before, I get that zOMG has problems and that it definitely needs the staff, that is why this thread got so popular. But hiring more staff is an internal matter. It's not exclusive to this site feature.
