A Note about the 2% listing fee in the marketplace

The Big Picture (Macroeconomic effects)
The new marketplace has more information available to all users. More information is better.
The new marketplace allows you to sell more items at a time. More trade is a good thing.
But,
More trade through the marketplace lowers the number of items sold back to the stores. Selling items back to the store is the only way gold leaves the economy (yes, it sounds weird - selling an item back to the store and getting gold actually gets gold out of the system, but when you look at the economy as a whole, this is how it works). So in order to keep "inflation" at the same rate it was before, we have to remove some gold out of the system. A 2% listing fee does exactly that - it's supposed to take out the same amount of gold that the new marketplace design will prevent from flowing out of the system. And it hits the source of the problem - if the marketplace is changing the flow of gold out of the economy, the marketplace is the right place to correct it.
The following post will explain why more information is good, and list some other functions of the fee. After that, we will use the rest of the thread to answer specific concerns the community has raised.
Ok this is how things work. The economy works by gold transferring between the users and the system. Entering (user to system) and leaving (system to user) transactions keep a certain set of check and balances implemented. When people buy items from the marketplace its a users to user transaction.
But buying from the NPC shops is a user to system transaction, gold is going back into the system. When people sell to the NPC shops gold leaves the system.
As things are now; gold is leaving the system faster then it circulates back, and more users are buying from each other then they are from the system.
This is why the 2% listing fee was implemented, to try and catch some of that money, but extra items and gold from the Daily Chance (both on the landing pages and in zOMG) is causing a unbalance between all transactions.
Before the Daily Chance, people had to go into towns or fish for game items, now they get them for free with no transaction of funds, and there is no need to work for these game items.
Before you had to buy bait, now bait and fish can be given to you free with no work behind it. People don't have to buy the bait, or fish. Tokens had to be bought, now they're given out, and less money is being put back into the system to get the tokens. Trash items use to be something people wanted, now with so much being given out people have lost interest in trash items. To make Matters worse you can buy bait and tokens for pennies on the gold for what the full price is.
When a person normally gets items, especially ones that can be sold to any NPC Shop for a quick amount of gold, they normally sell those items
I’m not saying that all the items people get for free is from the Daily Chance, but a good portion of it is. Most people sell what few non game items from the Daily Chance to the NPC shops, but as said by Lanzer and his buddy Sagger-AT3 this takes out of the system.
If you sell an item that you or did not buy, especially to someone else and get money out of the economy, you are hurting the Economy.
Not only is the Daily Chance giving out items, but it is making their value depreciate and go up and down like a manic depressive person.
Trash, Flowers, Bugs, and Ink and other town/game items industries are hurting because of the Daily Chance.
In Winter from what I have heard, you can’t get flowers, so the price of flowers rises, and we get seasonal inflation of flowers. But if a person gets flowers from the Daily Chance, and then sells them in the marketplace they are making a profit out of something they didn't work for, and hurting the economy.
Yes there is a thing called Supply and Demand, but when there is Supply with no real Supplier, then demand is and/or prices are down.
However from what I see, there is lots of Supply of free items with high prices, and this is hurting the economy.
How can you sell a item that you got for free in the Daily Chance at a high price for profit, even selling at a low price is not fair to others, and its not only taking Gold from the Economy, but users who are buying the items.
For the people who say "Well the Daily Chance helps me get extra Gold" Well what good is extra gold if you have to spend that on the inflated prices of the Marketplace? These prices just keep getting higher and higher because people figured out all they have to do is charge a little more to pay the tax and not lose gold from the price they want.
This petition is to replace the current Daily Chance with a claw machine that takes Gold, Cash, or Tokens to try and win prizes.
WE NEED SOME CHECKS AND BALANCES. THE MATH IS SCARY!!!
This math is generalized, and is based off of only 1% of the registered Gaian Populous. Out of 20,994,276+ users i think its safe to say that at least 1%+ (209,900+) of them use the Daily chance.
Daily Chances gives 6 chances (at one time cool . There are 7 days in a week, in 7 days a person would get 42 prizes from the Daily Chance. Now there are 365.25 days in a year depending on how you round up or down. 365 x 6 = 2190. In 1 year a person would get 2190 prizes from the Daily Chance.
In the month of February a person could receive 168-169 Daily Chance prizes In April, June, September, and November (30 day months) a person can receive 180 Daily Chance prizes in those months. In January, March, May, July, August, October, and December (31 day months) a person can receive 186 Daily Chance prizes in those months.
On average at least 35-50,000 people are logged onto gaia at any given time. This means if we keep using the 1% math, any where from 18,000-30,000+ Daily Chance Prizes are given out at any given time. times that by 365 and you get 6,570,000-10,950,000+ Daily Chance Prices given out to just 1% of the people registered on Gaia at any given time of the day.
Plus there are all the Mules used for the Daily Chance. People who use Mules have at least one mule. That means mule users with one mule will get 4380 Chances/Prices a year and it rises from there with each mule. Just imagine what it was like when the number of chances was still 8. The person with at least one mule using all the chances everyday would have gotten 5,840 Chances/Prizes a year (both main account and mule added together).
Gaia is giving way to much, and with all these prizes coming into the economy with no 100% way of getting rid of them (even with trashing now enabled), the marketplace is suffering a large blow.
The DC gives and gives and users take and take, its time for the user to give and take. You don't take a penny take a penny, you take a penny leave a penny.
Make the Daily chance like a Claw Machine game. Make a new NPC shop where you put in Gold or Tokens, and get a set amount of moves. 3-5 up, down, right, left, and diagonal.
If we do this then the Item(s) acquired in the Daily Chance are not free, and there is a limit to how much you get.
This limit would consist of your fund(s), skill(s), determination and how much you want to play and gamble.
Now before you fly off the handle I’m not saying make the Daily Chance like the card games, or any other server based system, I think they could find a solution where everyone can do the Daily Chance. Why do you think i mentioned the NPC Shop. The could even set it up like the Flute letters or items like the Snow Apple.
Just make it where you move a button or joystick and try to drop a claw onto the prize you want.
If it’s an Ink (no bugs it would be cruel to put them in a glass display case with a scary claw that would probably squish them,) Hat, Shirt, Google Eye Glasses then that is good for you, you won it, and you didn’t get it free you actually got it by putting some Gold back into the Economy, and with some skill and possibly some luck.
